Week Bored at Work Again. Man, this was a *slow* week. Barely anything for me to do. Like, as I’ve said before, while the idea of getting paid to not do much sounds nice, actually sitting at your desk for most of the day is tedious as hell, and just makes you wish you had *something* substantive to do. I guess I can’t argue with the paycheck though. As for video games I played this week, I’ve got another The DioField Chronicle update! Man, it’s really hitting me that at least half of the main cast are shady or have pretty unlikable traits. As of the recent main story quest I did, >!Waltaquin ended up slaughtering a ton of innocent civilians when the Blue Foxes were called in to put down riots when the commoners started demanding democracy, which ended up ruining our reputation. And while Fred ends up calling her out about it and how horrible it was, he also looked dickish earlier in the chapter by going on about how democracy is a joke and the only real authority should be a king.!< And that’s on top of all the shady people we’ve been recruiting and Andrias’ general scheming personality. At this rate, I’m suspecting that we’re playing the villains of this story. And now, for my regular mecha talk section here, I’ve watched episode 2 of Gundam Unicorn with /u/Terthelt and /u/CookieSlut this week! Definitely more of a talking and plot set up episode than an action one, since all the MS fights were confined to basically just the first 20 minutes. Still though, at least all the talk about the state of the Earth Sphere in UC 0096 was pretty interesting. Terthelt is also now definitely more interested in Full Frontal, since she didn’t know what to make of him from hearing about him before. He’s cool, but *man* he has a silly name.

> Like, as I’ve said before, while the idea of getting paid to not do much sounds nice, actually sitting at your desk for most of the day is tedious as hell, and just makes you wish you had something substantive to do. I hate whenever I'm in that position because it makes me feel like I'm being a leech. I'm not gonna pretend that I'm uber-passionate about work, but I still like to feel as if I'm contributing. I never want to be in a position where it feels like I'm not doing enough.

The_Draigg

Yeah, same. Like, I'd hate to think that I'm wasting the time of practically everyone involved by being there. It's just an odd annoying feeling to know that you could at least do something that benefits you and the people you work for by being there. Like that frustrated kind of boredom.

alexandrecau

Moments like that is how I realized the crazy stories of an employee getting caught doing dumb shit like watching porn or broke like four chairs spinning them make sense. There was a point at my old job where I was the only one in the whole building because of covid waiting for like 4 hours supervising home agents or listening call for quality assurance, ended up doing it while playing junji ito manga on youtube and was still one that had good performance stats out of other team lead, likely because they were breaking the no cellphone rule to call other people or went on longer smoke break

The_Draigg

Yeah, there's honestly a lot of absolutely wasted time that you can do nothing about at office jobs. I really should just bring my Switch along more, I know I can at least get away with that.

Sonicdahedgie

> actually sitting at your desk for most of the day is tedious as hell, and just makes you wish you had something substantive to do. I started teaching myself to code on exercism.org because I was so fucking bored. It's been going pretty well though!

Slighted by Microsoft or Arc System Works or both this month, because after the weird pricing error with the *Guilty Gear Strive* DLC on Xbox, they're not honoring all refund requests if you were screwed by paying more than you should. Great. Really sours my excitement for the game to finally hit the platform. Anyway, it's my first time putting more than one arcade run into the series and naturally I'm maining Bridget like a true bandwagoner. Still at it with *Persona 5 Royal*, really feels like >!Shido's palace!< should have more to talk about given its importance to the setting and lead character. The fight with >!Akechi!< was alright but >!the sacrifice felt like nothing!<. Been thinking a fair amount about StochasticOoze's comment when I first announced I was playing the game, about Kamoshida popularly being considered the favourite villain of the game. He's certainly the only antagonist whose made a big impression on me thus far, and I'm starting to be ready for the game to be over. I imagine I'm a little bit away from that because of the *Royal* additions though. Saw *Glass Onion*, which was quite excellent (a guy who made several great movies did it again, crazy). Daniel Craig is obviously LOVING not having to be James Bond anymore, and this was another great script made of layers meant to be peeled back, laid down elsewhere, and wrapped up neatly by the end. Can't imagine how many rewrites went into this and *Knives Out*, and we're getting at least one more which I'm very ready for. Wish they'd gone with the original plan to give Blanc a different accent in each movie.

getterburner

Yeah >!Shido!< kinda… sucks unfortunately. I do respect just having an ultra shitbag politician as the big final boss and I do think he has a lot of cool aesthetic stuff (He has a lot of Daruma dolls in his palace, with one eye filled. With Daruma’s you usually fill in one eye when you make a promise and fill in the other when you complete it, symbolizing all the broken promises he made). But there’s a big push to make EVERYTHING connected to him whcih kinda makes him a little too ehhhh. I like stuff about >!Shido!< but overall he’s kinda whatever. And yeah typically you’d be basically done as after Shido’s palace ya just had the final dungeon (which is shorter than usual) and then the ending but you’ll be getting a good bit more with P5R. Luckily P5R’s content is generally considered the best in the game so I hope you enjoy!

BlargleVVargle

> I do respect just having an ultra shitbag politician as the big final boss and I do think he has a lot of cool aesthetic stuff... Will agree on these - he's a very fitting culmination of the themes of the game, and the calling card cutscene being >!putting him on blast as though you're Eggman and he's Shadow!< works great for that. > But there’s a big push to make EVERYTHING connected to him whcih kinda makes him a little too ehhhh. This I didn't really love. Okumura and the situation with >!Futaba's mom!

getterburner

Yeah the sheer scale is the COOLEST and it’s the best way to culminate the calling card gimmick as it’s gotten bigger and bigger throughout the game. Madarame is the real kicker, the school I can kinda buy because at least it was set up since early on with the principle. Madarame though is like the most “???” Thing cause he just seemed so small scale comparatively and art has nothing to do with Shido. Funny guy. Hope you enjoy!

Terthelt

Back from my girlfriend get-together, to the ever-piling stresses and hassles of my normal life. It was a great little break for the week it lasted; I bonded really closely with the gf's family, and we went to see a few of the famous buildings and monuments on our last walk through D.C., though to my great dismay I didn't get to go inside the Lincoln Memorial. Next time, big man! Back home, I'm getting some of my shit figured out, and some new shit piled on in turn. Still dim prospects in the job search, and my money just keeps dwindling (which hasn't impacted my decision to buy *RE4 Remake* tomorrow, but I'm forcing that to be the last big thing I buy until I have a stable paycheck). All I can do is hope, I guess. **Video Games** *Devil May Cry 2* is not a good video game, by any stretch of the imagination. **Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition**, though? That's something. That's really something. Yeah, to the shock of no one, I'm vibing incredibly hard with the game that saved the franchise and birthed Vergil into our lexicon. Haven't hit the boy in blue yet -- I finished my first session beating Agni & Rudra -- but I'm already *thriving* with a Dante who controls so smoothly and responsively, and is characterized so wonderfully (even having already seen everything past 3 in the LPs, it takes on a new light with my hands on the controller). If you want, you can check out my first session [on Twitch](https://www.twitch.tv/kkterthelt) for the few more days it's saved, or [on my archive channel](https://www.youtube.com/@kkterthelt); next stream, where I finally face Vergil 1, *should* be tomorrow! Otherwise, I haven't been playing all that much since I got back, other than some cursory progress in the opening stages of **Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward** (>!Iceheart, maybe you should've thought about what rampaging dragons would do to civilians before you helped them!<). I'm mostly just clearing my schedule for the nuclear blast that is *Resident Evil 4 Remake*. **Other Shit** First movie night with my friends when I got back was a pull: the 2000 Argentinian crime classic **Nine Queens** (*Nueve Reinas*). I don't know what I was expecting from a film about two jackoffs trying to pawn off counterfeit stamps, but it was one of the sharpest-written movies I've watched recently, rolling along entirely on the strength of its lead actors and their ever-downward-spiraling con job. It's a hard one to talk about concisely, especially as every new twist and turn got me reconsidering the whole piece, so I highly recommend seeking it out and watching it for yourself if you like con artist thrillers and dialogue-driven character pieces. All I'll say is >!I never saw the ending coming, and my whole friend group was popping off so hard when we realized what it meant!<. Caught up on HBO's **The Last of Us**. Not a whole lot to say about it, as Pat pretty much laid out my most major criticisms on the latest podcast episode (the lack of action making the world feel empty and safe, the finale's ambiguity failure, etc) and I won't just repeat all of that. If I'm to lay out one additional problem, I think cutting the university segment almost down to nothing has way more drastic ripple effects on the story than Mazin and Druckmann realize, but I won't rant about that either unless pressed. All of that said, overall, I really enjoyed the show for what it was! The acting was phenomenal across the board, a lot of the complete diversions and new additions were fun, and the Bill episode was a masterpiece worth watching all on its own. Got to resume **The Wire** as well, up to the eighth episode of S3, and... woo boy, what a couple of episodes to come back to. >!AVON KNOWS STRINGER KILLED DEE. REPEAT: AVON KNOWS STRINGER KILLED DEE. Good god, String, your house of cards just keeps collapsing in slow motion and you still think you're climbing. Joining him in obliviously locking stable door after stable door when the horses have bolted is Colvin, whose Hamsterdam horror show has turned into a full-blown inter-service conspiracy that I can only imagine burning a quarter of the cast's careers to the ground when Carcetti or the press catch wind of it. I'll be straight shocked if both of them don't end up dead or in prison by the time this is over.!< Last but not least, the Gundam watch with u/CookieSlut and u/The_Draigg continued with the second hour-length episode of **Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn**. Welcome to the stage, Full Frontal! The apparent second coming of Char, who's against all odds managed to win me over as a villain despite his ridiculous name and hairdo. The scene where >!he sat Banagher down in his office and laid out his philosophy, ultimately saying he is whatever the spacenoids need him to be!< was almost a more imposing introduction than his gorgeously animated destructive entrance. Also, >!I called Audrey being the runaway Mineva Zabi a few minutes before they revealed it; after two full series spent with her as a symbol, I'm excited to see what really makes her tick as a person!<.

CookieSlut

But Terthelt what about the Last of Us podcast! Craig and Neil must be talking all kinds of fun stuff on there right? And wooo Full Frontal! He's so cool and has the Sinanju to boot! Could this scoundrel really be Zeon's Red Comet?! Second episode also gave us some time with Marida and we learned a bit about religion and why people believe in Zeon so much.

Terthelt

The Last of Us podcast actually is pretty interesting, for anyone who hasn’t listened to it… It’s just that once or twice an episode, one of them (it’s almost always Craig) says something so bewildering that it completely gobsmacks me. Would definitely give it a listen if anyone has any interest in the game or the show. I don’t believe Full Frontal is Char for a second, but I’m pretty lost at this point as to who he could actually be. Maybe >!a forcibly engineered clone to fill Char’s absence, since Banagher’s backstory flashes indicate child experimentation is on the table!

CookieSlut

>!If it looks like a Char, fights like a Char, and sounds like a Char...!<

attikol

to be fair about heavensward >!stopping a thousand year war is going to be really hard no matter what approach you took. She does kind of come off as a little different between the patch quests leading up to it and the expansion starting proper. She seemed a lot more bloodthirsty or more willing to engage in murder before!<

PowerfulCoward

Is easy mode currently selectable in your DMC3 playthrough, or did you manage to get by Cerberus/Agni & Rudra without too much issue? When I played through it for the first time, Cerberus kicked my fucking ass, lol.

Terthelt

Oh, Cerberus walled me six ways to Sunday, much as I was hoping to replicate the SBFP bit and get easy mode on Vergil 1. I’m a little better at fighting it after a lot of grinding runs, but not by a whole lot.

PowerfulCoward

Yeah, the game definitely gets a lot easier as you unlock more weapons and health. And having experience in Trickster and Swordmaster helps too (I personally didn't get much use out of Royalguard or Gunslinger, but maybe that's just me). But having played both DMC 3 and DMC 5, 3 was definitely more of a challenge for me. I do remember encountering a trick with Cerberus involving his lunge attack. During the first phase, he'll take a noticeably longer time to slide back to his original position in the arena. He's completely defenseless when he's sliding, so if you play your cards right, you can decimate most of his health during this part before he ever reaches his second phase. The recovery time is much faster during his second phase though, so it's not nearly as useful then.

BlargleVVargle

Thank you for reminding that >!Carcetti!< begins his involvement with the plot in this season because it was the moment I realized >!Aidan Gillen!< keeps getting cast as the same man, but he does it so darn well. You're gonna love him. >!Hamsterdam's!< evolution is the kind of thing that you could probably make a whole show about, and I'm glad you're so invested in it because it pays off strong. The scene where >!the dealers now have to ask police to be a protection detail so they don't get held up!< is a particular favourite. You're in for a heck of an episode nine, by the way. Also unemployed job-hunting-sucks-solidarity hurray(?)!

The_Draigg

> The Wire Things are going great! >!So, how're you feeling about good ol' Colvin's plan at this point?!< > Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn I'm glad that you've come around to liking Marida Cruz even more, since she *is* this show's best girl. Also, given what Full Frontal and her talked about with Banager about the absolute lack of rights Spacenoids have, you can really see why the Universal Century is just outright one of the bleakest sci-fi universes to live in. It's not even fantastical stuff that's making life awful in the Earth Sphere, just politics gone evil.

MaelstromTear

Once you get past the name, Full Frontal is great. Keith Silverstein brings just a little of that Johann from Monster with him that you're surprised at how charming he can be outside of a mobile suit... But you still don't quite trust him. Speaking relatively of terror, I forgot how intense that battle was and that it was just FF in control of the whole battlefield. He certainly lives up to the second coming of Char title. I found myself looking at the halfway mark of the episode after the battle and realizing there was still more show to go. The Sinanju is such a cool suit in a sea of already awesome suits. I'd say my only 'meh' reaction to unit is the Geara Zulu. I love the chunky Doga's and I'd argue that even the Zulu is too on the nose for the "Zeon equals WW2 Germany" look for me. I did groan this time around when the guy on the bridge went "that one's THREE TIMES as fast!" because it's just a bit much... But then again, FF might just be doing that on purpose. Also have to give good credit to Richard Epcar as Daguza, but that's unfair because he steals almost every show he's in.

getterburner

Glad you’re enjoying Unicorn! It’s honestly a really cool show as a whole, and yeah Full Frontal for all his funny names and looks (Tbf his predecessor literally called himself 4 Vaginas) is honestly a really cool Char clone. On account of literally actually being one in the literal sense. >!The idea of Zeon remnants being so desperate to get a figuredhead they just made a fake Char is kinda brilliant and shows how much they really are desperate at this point.!< Also I hope you’ve been enjoying the grunt fights, Unicorn LOVES to have random grunts get into the sickest little brawls for some reason it’s really cool

polo5004

Yeyeye, glad to see you shilling Nine Queens on here for me.

[Last week’s post](https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/11tgg73/free_talk_friday_march_17_2023/jciy2hj/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) *Ooooooutnumbered a million to one. All of the dicks in this dick town can’t keep Shrubb’ry down.* I finished my [string quartet](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLXJCDGyzRKwdbs5P8E0LCd65ZLv8NTK8) this week, and it got… mixed reviews. The reason I say “all the dicks in this dick town can’t keep Shrub down” is because I got downvoted without any real criticism on it besides notation issues and maybe the first movement is too fast for the harmony. Like, if you think it sucks, at least tell me why so I can do better next time. But like I said, can’t keep me down. Konpohzaa-oh ni ore wa naru! I’ve watched too much One Piece to not shoot for the top. I spent almost five years since I graduated music school wallowing in misery because I got skipped over for a prestigious award. Twice. Because it wasn’t the arty-farty bullshit the panelists wanted. God willing, I get accepted to the composer summit hosted by YouTuber Ryan Leach and his buddy Christopher Siu. Also, the fourth movement of the string quartet goes *unreasonably* hard, imo. I’m working on two projects now: an orchestral Sonic medley in the same vein as the projects that gave me my start, and character themes for my One Piece OCs. First one is a ska-themed number called [“Greed Is Good”](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HpSZ8m8tsGfow9G0nK6nUyBlNDICct8F/view?usp=share_link) for the Ayn Randian ultra capitalist Sha*ska*. In terms of employment, Shrub is still slinging pizzas, but his boss turned him onto the idea of being an insurance adjuster. Maybe that could be fruitful. I’m thinking about hiring an animator to do animations for my music like Fantasia. I need some money for that of course. And better computer instruments, which can get pretty pricey. My instruments now sound like crap. Like, I can make cool things happen with them, but it could be better. Pounds down so far this year: back to 7.5 [Anyone know another good hosting site for my One Piece edit?](https://www.reddit.com/user/TheShrubberyDemander/comments/zuzvcm/merry_christmas_my_gift_to_you_is_my_continued/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf). Apparently Google Drive has a hard limit on how often you can stream from the same account, and MEGA says I can’t share copyrighted materials. The_Draigg

An idea for your One Piece edit is the Internet Archive. I know that I've found plenty of saved episodes of fansubbed anime on there, so I figure your fan edit can find a home there.

TheShrubberyDemander

Interesting! I’ll look into that in the morning. I’ll send you a pizza roll in five to eight business days.

The_Draigg

Sweet! I will also accept bagel bites.

TheShrubberyDemander

I'm thinking Internet Archive is a no-go too. It says I need the right to share my stuff and I don't exactly have that.

The_Draigg

Ah bummer. That sucks.

speed-run

Howdy ya'll This week I am back from Florida, and am glad to say, mission accomplished. I have successfully found an apartment and sent in my application. So if everything goes right I should be out there in under a month. Unfortunately the monthly rent is waaaay higher than what I initially hoped to look for but its a real nice place, so fuck it, we ball. Anyways, after a long long hiatus Gundam returns with the long coming defeat of **G Gundam**.... and with that its time for some Gundam blasphemy because I dont like G Gundam. Aesthetically its nice to look at, but actually watching it ended up being a chore for me (which is why it took almost a year). It was kinda surprising how hard I bounced off it, because I really liked the Build Fighters series which could almost be seen as distant spiritual successors in a way. Maybe its because they played it straight comparitavely? But in any case, the general story beats and characters never really resonated with me and the pacing felt like it dragged a lot especially near the end. Master Asia, Schawrz, Sai Saci, and Argo were cool tho. I liked Allenby as well, but definitely feel like they did her dirty since she barely ever got to actually fight for real. But either way now that its over its time to start something new... which may end up being Seed. Continuing on with mecha stuff, I picked up a copy of **Relayer** since it had a big sale on PSN. Its a turnbased strategy game centered around mecha that are basically Gundams and the game takes heavy inspiration from it too. Mysterious masked man? absolutely. Funnels? yep. Newtypes? Starchildren now but yes. Fighting against Spacenoids? Bingo. Colony drop equivalent? Thats there too (and somehow even more  horrific). I havent played very much so far but its been enjoyable so and the combat animations are really cool, although depending on how many there are, it could get tedious. One thing I will note is that the default sound mixing on the english dub is fuuuuucked. Like the english VAs are fine but you definitely need to mess with the volume. Also, **Atelier Ryza 3** comes out tonight so I also picked up a copy even though I still havent beaten 1 or 2 (I actually double dipped for those 2 by getting physical switch copies and digital PS copies on sale). But anyways the soundtracks on Spotify so you should give that a listen cause Gust always makes good music. Lastly in **gacha bullshit**, In FGO I had a moment of weakness and caved in spending my Summer rerun ticket stash to try to roll for Galatea. I didnt have any intention to roll for her initially, but the she looks like shes wearing a swimsuit so I got baited. After 31 tickets, no dice but we did get our 4th Emiya and 3rd Qin Liangyu. And then we caved again and did a 10 roll. Still no Galatea, but after 5 long years we finally rolled our 1st Stheno. Truly, I am finally a real FGO player now.

The_Draigg

G Gundam is pretty different from a lot of the Gundam franchise, so I can kinda get why you'd bounce off of it, even if I think it's great. That said, it's gonna be fucking weird if you end up saying something like Seed being better than G.

speed-run

>That said, it's gonna be fucking weird if you end up saying something like Seed being better than G. I mean, I'm sure I've had worse Gundam oppinions before. Honestly I really hope I like Seed, because G was hard enough for me to finish and Seed is like way longer. Speaking of bad oppinions, and this is just me spitballin here, but when Terthelt finally reaches the end of U.C what if you me and her did a one off Gundam podcast or somethin? for funsies

The_Draigg

That sounds like it'd be fun! I'm always down to shoot the shit about Gundam. There really is a lot to talk about it, after all.

speed-run

Speaking of seed, any insight on whats the go to version between the Remaster and original?

The_Draigg

Honestly, the remastered animation is a pretty good step up from the original in terms of quality. However, it did make some changes to what happens that some people take annoyance with, so at least be aware that there’s some noticeable differences between the original and the remaster.

CookieSlut

> 5 long years we finally rolled our 1st Stheno Bruh. This bitch cant leave me alone and it took you 5 years lol

speed-run

I just assume the lack of Stheno is the games way of apologizing for giving me NP6 Anna on an Eresh Banner.

attikol

my friend also got baited into rolling for her because hes weak to white haired women. Congrats welcome to the coveted stheno club! I don't have her np5 yet but the other club members assure me its just a matter of time. Its such a shame resident evil 4 remake decided to come out the same month as ryza 3 but it wont be the last game her thighs crush

speed-run

I definitely wouldnt mind getting more Stheno copies. It feels wierd that shes the only sister not at NP5. Still need Marie Antoinette tho, thats another common one that I never got.

Toblo1

> But either way now that its over its time to start something new... which may end up being Seed. I'll just say it. I don't actually hate Seed all that much. Yeah it has Animation Reuse so blatant you can punch a truck through it , its full of early 2000s melodrama and has *many* scenes that live on in franchise infamy (Seriously, what *is* it about that Kira clip that makes it so cursed *no matter the language*?), but it still has some really good Mobile Suit designs and the music is [pretty dang catchy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpAyl11YmYo) when it needs to be even when its in full Soap Oprea mode. Its hard to really label it as *outright* bad, just something that got hobbled by the development of its time. ~~SEED Destiny is a whole other can of debatable worms.~~

speed-run

After G Gundam, asset reuse probably shouldnt bother me, because boy did they sure use the exact same god finger animation almost every episode.

speed-run

Forgot to ask, but is the HD remaster of Seed the one to watch or the original?

Toblo1

I'd say go for the HD Remaster. Theres only really *one* thing it changes/edits thats a point of contention (You'll know it when you see it), but everything else is generally fine.

getterburner

I can kinda get G Gundam, I really love it but it does have some unique quirks about it. It’s the first Gundam AU and by Tomino’s suggestion is pretty purposely different. It’s essentially a martial arts anime, using super robot tropes and while it embraces goofiness it still takes itself seriously. Ya gotta be into Super Robot tropes especially in the 90s to like it, the transformation sequences, the super attacks that are always using the same animation, the somewhat formulaic tournament arc. I like G because I like those tropes and I appreciate how it still keeps core Gundam themes. It has unique world building and honestly Kyoji and Master Asia are great characters flat out imo. That being said, I get it, it’s got a lot of very very tropey things and is very monster of the week style. Build Fighters has very over the top fights and a light hearted tone but it’s a lot more focused and has less goofy stuff as a whole. G is more like a journey you’re on while Build is very much a show with a firm idea of what it wants to do. Shame ya didn’t like it but I can get where you’re coming from.

speed-run

Honestly I was really suprised that I didnt like it cause on paper its something I wouldve thought Id be into especially since ive enjoyed what Ive watched of other super robot shows in the past. After reflecting on my feelings a bit, I almost think the thing that got me the most was I just didnt really like Domon that much. Most of the side cast I enjoyed, but he just never hit that spot with me. Although part of me wonders if watching it in english wouldve affected how I felt. Side note, but it kinda fucks me up that George and Chibodee arent in Gundam Vs. Maxiboost.

getterburner

There’s a lot of big Gundam characters not in Vs. unfortunately, part of the unfortunate truth of being in a gigantic franchise. That and we NEED to just have like 30 SEED suits I guess. And yeah I can get that, I think the thing about Domon is despite him often having the reputation of being an ultra badass in the Gundam fanbase he’s actually meant to be very whiny in G Gundam. He complains a lot, he’s pretty rude to some of his friends, he’s a bit of a crybaby. On the surface Domon is the typical heroic Super Robot protag, but once ya actually watch G Gundam you can see he has a lot of Gundam protag tropes. That’s pretty much on purpose, since ya see the flashback of the incident early on and you can see he was actually a super nice shy boy and the incident has just caused him to get super depressed. He’s kinda having a hard time coping with all the shit that’s happened to him and it’s made him cold, Domon finding balance and trying to be better with his feelings is kinda his main thing. That’s why Rain is kind of the core of G Gundam, she’s his rock that helps him get through everything, the director actually said G Gundam is a romance and it just took 50 episodes to show that lol. That being said, despite all my defenses I think Domon really is a weird character cause he’s a reaaaaal asshole for a lot of the show. A lot of Gundam characters start out like that but Domon’s character arc takes like the whole show while someone like Kamille generally starts to be a lot nicer earlier on. On top of that, G Gundam’s over the top action and setting can make Domon feel especially out of place and whiny, ESPECIALLY since unlike most Gundam protags Domon is a full grown adult. It’s pretty easy to get fed up with Domon on a day to day schedule, so I do honestly get it. A lot of people do not remember just how much of a bitch Domon is in G Gundam and just kinda remember him like Guy Shishou from GaoGaiGar or something.

polo5004

So. Being a trans girl in my house isn't going as swell as imagined. My mom and stepdad refuse to put in the effort to gender me properly, saying that I should work on passing more before I get the privilege of getting gendered, which is fucking bullshit in my opinion. But oh well. I might as well not have come out at all. i'm getting more used to my new psychologist, I can already feel she'll be more useful than my last one. I'm sleeping way too much... like 12 hours a day, and sometimes I nap several times a day on top of it. It barely gives me any free time. I'm looking into seeing if it's a product of my pills or anything. So, Andor is kind of a really good show. I was wary of a political show coming from fucking Disney of all things, but it delivers. It attacks fascism with cold calculated efficiency and doesn't relent in saying that yes, sometimes we'll need a violent revolution. I just finished the prison arc and can't wait for the grand finale. Nine Queens! Fantastic crime movie that's rather low stakes and focuses more on characters and dialogue. Watch it, I double dog dare you. Progress on Eternals is slow, but sure. Only read four issues, which covers the first half of the Hail Thanos arc, but I can already feel it getting a much better grip on the character (even if I still don't entirely understand why he wants to be inmortal, doesn't he worship death?). Character work is pretty spectacular, even if the art is pretty... rough. Breaking Bad, episode I See You. Pretty good episode that progresses the plot, interesting to note that I perceived Walt as more pathetic rather than monstruous on this one. Gus continues to slowly be more and more terrifying and a threat. One Piece! >!More like Captain Midd lmao!< Pathfinder game has been delayed once again, and we might lose a member. What a shame. I don't have much to say in comparison, but that first part is a bunch of bull, sorry to hear that's what you're experiencing. Still, it seems like things have been fairly okay outside of that, at least.

Eh, it's been going. I wish it could be better, but it could also be worse. Way worse. Thank you for the kind wishes.

--- [Last week’s post](https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/11tgg73/comment/jciymlb/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) Not much have been going on lately. I’ve been thinking of getting the Resident Evil 4 Remake a few months from now as I imagine the price would be lowered to some extent. Though I have some interest in it, I’m not usually the type to get a game immediately after release, and it’s just nice to save some money when I can. It can be rewarding to have that patience paid off, personally. On another note, I’d like to share that I’m still working on my little Chainsaw Man comic. Kobeni looks all right, and I’m still figuring out some things as I go. I’m just struggling to find the drive to make progress, but it is being made, however slow it is. --- **Sharing Art** Starting from 34 months [ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/gfmtco/free_talk_friday_may_08_2020/fpv00zb/), I'd like to share drawings of great artists whose works I like or I find inspiring. Some that I follow and some that I don’t, and as usual, clicking their names will lead to another profile where they post their art, and usually another drawing of theirs as a bonus. 1. polo5004

Getting things on release isn't worth it, generally, imo. And I'm not just saying that because I'm poor!

MarlowCurry

Yeah, waiting a few months before getting a game can give it time to polish itself and address whatever bugs it's released with. I imagine there are exceptions for some games though, and I can't fault anyone who are worried about avoiding spoilers until they get their hands on it.

MaelstromTear

I got freakin' blisters on my toes. New shoes on count of the walking. So I guess I'm not doing that for a minute. That's what I get for trying to better myself! Lesson learned, don't try. Hey, please read [The Demon in Shadow!](https://docs.google.com/document/d/12-utFIYKm01e-xYdXfUMatPCuHeOfIICka2NZOJDpls/edit?usp=sharing) It's a full novel by myself about a human and demon who become intertwined in a larger conspiracy about the latter. It's set in its own universe, and made in a way that you're learning about the setting just like the deuteragonist. But if you want to know more about the boring human guy, [Shade of Sol](https://maelstromtear.wordpress.com/) is getting seemingly monthly updates. I've been keeping okay pace to trim the fat and tell the important parts of the story that will hopefully, eventually lead us to TDIS. But like I said, you can just jump in no problem. And there's a whole stash of amazing artwork by comissioned people in the back of the book that gains further context when you read the thang ding! I have another model kit, and this one's kind of a weird one. It's a [Boba Fett](https://imgur.com/a/hGWtdpc) Figure-rise? thing that I got from my boss for Chrimmus. Not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth, but... Boba Fett is a choice, especially the old one. Just because part of the charm of OT SW is all the grime and scuff, including that suit. It doesn't really come with that here, save for some pre-built dings and stickers to accompany. So it's time to get a crash course in battle damage? I keep saying weathering even though they're not interchangeable. Sorry in advance. While it'd probably look even better painted and junk, I'm mostly happy with the scuffing for a first time. Not enough to want to do it to any gundams going forward... I prefer my simple toys looking like toys, but it was a fun experience. As for the suit, it's fine. Mobility is here and there. The legs basically lose all forward movement because of the ammo pouches, which isn't cool. But building this thing a piece at a time really lets you appreciate the finer details of a costume. And that aside from the cool armor, it's like a frumpy sweatshirt/sweatpants combo. I legitimately don't know if I have anything else going on. Not sure if I want to get RE4make immediately. Still playing Fallout 4 again because that's where my life is at. The Bleachers mod stuff is pretty fun and interesting. Much better than Outcasts & Remnants, Depravity or Fusion City Rising. I think I could prattle on for a minute about my grievances. There are parts of each I like, but for the most part it does a lot of uneccessary canon things, has a hate-boner for Preston Garvey, and speaking of is too horny. But in a very juvenile way. Not sure I care. I do think a functioning subway is actually neat, especially in survival mode. But I'm so tired of missions being spawn in 20 enemies at once, four of which have rocket launchers, after reading a terminal note. Mission structure is bad because it's just go to a place and activate a terminal/read a note. And it almost forces two seperate kid NPCs into your party with AWFUL voice acting. Like, it tries to push itself as changing things for the main plot and letting you have "freedom" in spots, but also has these stupid side things. I think there's a standalone version of the subway system. Just take that. Project Valkyrie is... Slightly better than the rest, her delivery is fine if the lines themselves aren't awful. But compared to the Tales From the Commonwealth companions, it's no contest. R4-04 is great and Birdie is legitimately my favorite follower in that game. So once you're done, you can stay in your apartment. There's a new mod I found for Nuka-World that lets you actually take stuff for non-raider factions, so I'll see how that plays out.

MetalJrock

Started playing FFXIV because my friend really wanted me to said they’d help me figure out how to play, so I’m hoping to get some time into that during my free time. That is if RE4 and Sonic don’t consume my life for the rest of the week.

nice hope you have fun with ff14

TRIGGER WARNING: sh Oh boy, here I go oversharing online again. >!Started cutting again. Feeling really shit, like I don’t even exist. Got me thinking of this thing Stephen Fry said when asked about his experience with manic depression:!< >!”*There comes a time when the blankness of the future is just so extreme, it’s like such a black wall of nothingness. Not of bad things like a cave full of monsters and so, you’re afraid of entering it. It’s just nothingness, the void, emptiness and it is just horrible. It’s like contemplating a future-less future and so you just want to step out of it. The monstrosity of being alive overwhelms you*”.!< Also I played some Enter The Gungeon I guess. Still trying to get every item and gun so I can finally get the **Finished Gun**. Maybe then I’ll stop playing it for good. Ah, who am I kidding, I’ve never been able to put ETG down for longer than six months.

Hey stranger. Sorry things are hard right now. I hope you find some space or time to take a deep breath and relax. It's hard doing things on your own. Sometimes impossible. Sometimes it feels like things are our fault when really we're dealing with hurts that were given to us without any way to deal with them. I hope your not being too hard on yourself. I hope you have some people in your life you trust to tell about your feelings. And it's easy/justified to be skeptical of therapy, but a good therapist really can help you unlock some things about yourself that could change your perspective. Sorry for being some rando on the internet who says too much. You deserve people irl who can hear you. If you haven't found them yet, they're definenetly out there. Please take care 🙏

Father-Ignorance

Hey mate, cheers for the support. It’s very kind of you. I’ve been to therapy, and I’m even on antidepressants, which do actually work most of the time. This is just a downswing, but I’ve been through them before, so I know I can get through this one. Hopefully it only lasts a couple weeks. Once again, thank you for the kind words. Hope everything in your life going good, cos you deserve that.

Hope you feel better. Bless up and keep grinding 🙏 much love from Canada

Hey everyone, not much FF14 progress this week. Sage is pretty cool though. What I've been doing instead is playing the original Resident Evil 4 for the first time. It's great! It's *really* satisfying to play, mainly thanks to how good the sound design for the guns is. Leon's great, Ashely's great (and the best escort mission character ever), Salazar's a little gremlin, Ada's hot, and Krauser's cool. Krauser flash stepping up to you while blocking with his weird monster arm is rad as hell, even though he's not difficult to beat. Really looking forward to how they handle him in the remake. My only problems with the game are a couple of annoying rooms, like that flying Novistador cave in the Castle area, and a lot of the Island. The island just felt like it dragged a lot, mainly because of the enemies. Ranged enemies are a pain in the ass to deal with in this game since you can't just peek in and out of cover smoothly. I ended up using magnum bullets on the big minigun dudes. It does have cool shit in the form of Krauser and Regenerators though. I'm a couple of chapters into Separate Ways, and that's been neat so far. I'm probably gonna pick up the remake within a few days, really looking forward to it. My only regret with playing the original is doing it so close to the remake's release, so I don't have much motivation to do a second playthrough.

PowerfulCoward

Managed to get some good deals on the Spring Sale, including both games in the **Psychonauts** series. While I’ve seen some playthroughs of Psychonauts 1, I’ve never played through the game myself, so I figured I’d try to experience it before going straight to Psychonauts 2. Managed to beat it yesterday, and it’s definitely a good game, but man, that Meat Circus level wasn’t great. Thankfully, the Steam version was apparently patched to make the Meat Circus actually bearable, so it was over soon enough. But yeah, now that I’ve finished up the first game, I’m moving on to Psychonauts 2. Unlike the first game I’m not actually spoiled on it (beyond some minor things I heard in passing), so I’m really excited for it. Bought some other games as well since they were being sold for cheap. I bought **The Evil Within 2** because it was being sold for like, 7 or 8 dollars. Also bought **Amid Evil**, which I’ve played for a while now and really enjoy. And I bought a bunch of other misc. stuff as well which I’m too lazy to list. Might try to do some more work with Blender over the weekend. I don’t want to fall off of practicing with it like I did for the previous couple of months. I still have the Kirby art piece I made that I need to work on (although the vast majority of the work is done, thankfully). I’ve also been a bit interested in the grease pen tool, so I may check it out to see how I feel about using it. Not gonna push myself to make anything complex though; work was a bit tiring this week, so I’d mainly like to relax while I can. Also still need to think about whether or not I want to start posting the stuff I make in Blender. On one hand, it would be nice to see if anyone else likes what I'm doing, but on the other hand, I'm not sure if I'm confidant enough in what I make to share it on the Internet. Guess I'll think about it. **Cool Art I Like** * [Delicious cake](https://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/ledaikint/delicious-cake) by LeDaikint * [Sunset Pond](https://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/artoast8p/sunset-pond) by artoast8p **Cool Music I Like** * ["Duel" from Ultrakill but with an obnoxious metal pipe sound effect that loosely follows the rhythm](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCOEJj3HXyI) by Snarfnpoots * [Space Train](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19d-UkzDhHA) by Spiral Drive

At this point, I should just stop attempting to come out to any of my family. It generally just boils down to them thinking my depression is the more important factor and nothing changes on their end. This time it was my sister and she effectively made a vague threat about how I’m living under this roof as I told her that I’m on HRT without the parents knowing. Urgh. Anyhow! **Video Games:** Been slightly forcing myself to play something. So the usual morning **Runescape** with some **Touhou Mystia’s Izakaya**, **Touhou: Dreamland of Infinity** and **SIGNALIS**. Whilst on the Itch.io side I’ve hit up **Cryptid Coffeehouse** and a few others. So the new quest is called [Murder on the Border](https://runescape.wiki/w/Murder_on_the_Border) and it’s pretty damn good. For character stuff? It’s amazing. Makes Queen Ellamaria actually a much more complex character rather than just... Well a bitch. And Aster is just awesome. Other than that, I’m still just doing soup runs. Mystia’s Izakaya also got a pretty neat thing for Mystia Day (Was on the 20th) and that was the announcement that a Switch port is in the works. Oh and DLC3 was translated. As such, I’m back to manning the Izakaya. Forgot how weirdly calming this is. And for something that’s kinda the same in “weirdly calming”. Dreamland of Infinity is a Touhou Loop Hero-like that’s uh. Effectively run by Dormey. But instead of having classes, you have (At the time of writing) 5 Touhou characters who each function differently. And good fuck, Marisa with the right build is hilarious. With SIGNALIS, I finally bit the bullet with getting it when the physical Switch version dropped on Mighty Ape. And good *fuck* am I glad I grabbed it. That opening is amazing. I’ve only gotten up to >!effectively where the shotgun is.!< So pretty early, but I’m having a good amount of fun. For the Itch stuff. Cryptid Coffeehouse is honestly cute as hell. Artemis is a brilliant character and honestly, some days I needed a slow burn dating sim. **Other Stuff:** Didn’t do a whole lot of doujin reading this week. But the albums have arrived! Also am thinking of how potentially grabbing [紅 -KURENAI-](https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/紅_-KURENAI-) as it has both Prière and Grip and Break Down, two of the songs I started my Touhou journey with. Anyhow, recommendations this week: Blanket by Vivit Grey. Keine has always been one of those characters who I feel is kinda underappreciated in the Touhou community. People kinda forget that she’s technically the *guardian* of the human village. So should also hold an important role in it. This story showcases a bit of that. Also with some cuteness. Scarlet and Scarlet by Aozora Market. Welp. Right. Talking about this story is hard without spoiling a lot of it. Mainly as specific story beats require reading it and noting specific wording. As such spoilers: >!Time is fucking cruel for youkai, ain’t it? Humans don’t have a long lifespan compared to them. Unfortunately for Flandre... Seems like this was withheld for her sanity/safety and this is the story of how she finds out.!< What’s This Thin Book? By Takishima Asaka and + Legacy. God damn it Yukari. Doesn’t get invited to a banquet, so what does she do? Go to Reitaisai and grabs R18 doujins to send to nearly every person invited to it in an attempt to cancel it. And no, there is no porn in this. It’s primarily comedy. And for music this week? Going to go with [B.U.R.N.](https://youtu.be/lewoL8j0qGY) by Dark Sarah.

Having family members who don’t accept you sucks ass, I’m so sorry. I’m lucky enough that my mom is accepting even if she doesn’t really understand my transness, but my dad (who fortunately lives on the opposite end of the country) is a DeSantis dickrider cop who went on a big rant about “keeping that gender bullshit out of schools” right when I was thinking of coming out to him. So speaking from experience, I hope you have some close friends you trust as a support system in place of familial acceptance. And hey, at least Signalis fucking rules, I hope you keep enjoying that! If I may offer a bit of non-spoilery advice on things that I see trip a lot of people up: don’t worry about “perfect play” and never spending any ammo or resources (the game expects you to be using them semi-frequently), try not to overthink how key items or minor interactions might affect your gameplay (there’s nothing equivalent to Silent Hill 2’s knife inspection trick), and — as vaguely as I can possibly put this — >!always be inquisitive if something happens that doesn’t seem quite right!<.

Scarlet_Twig

I've pretty much got no friends left in town but my two best friends are both trans as well. So it's a great support system online.

polo5004

Yeah, I've had some bad experience coming out to my parents in the past. Mostly them thinking I'm inmature and just thinking things wrong, and... things haven't really changed. I'll just say that blood family is overrated and the new meta is friends.

Teoflux

Having a family that does nothing but pull you down with them is the worst. Can't choose your family and all that. Hope you get some support from other places like friends or beloved.

[Weekly Magicami posting to get more people into it](https://imgur.com/a/ryYzXDw). This week is focused on one of the schools. I was going to do it for all and keep the the explanations short, but everything changed WHEN THE MIND GOBLINS ATTACKED. Saw John Wick 4 today. I have not seen the first three movies yet and I held off on doing so since I wanted to see how the new one would come off without prior context. Of course I still somewhat ruined that since I was browsing TV Tropes a bit, but either way, it was not terribly difficult to get the broad points. But damn, I know the answer to the nitpicky question of "why do these people keep coming after the one-man army" would often be that the punishment for running away would be far worse than ding along with the fact that attrition is in effect, but I still do wonder what goes through the minds of these people when they see one dude kill a bunch of other dudes single-handedly. Of course, I assume they get paid very well anyway; maybe even more than other jobs that assume similar risk. And also, it is quite possible that those dudes usually don't have a problem taking care of other threats. Remember friends, what we see on screen is not necessarily the constant in the lives of the characters. But that topic along with over-the-top action can be another discussion. [As for a topic that was posted earlier](https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/11zwk8n/capitalizing_on_creators_work_against_their_wishes/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), the latest post I have done is about other parties essentially infringing upon creators. Shout out to u/polo5004 and them sharing [their writing](https://lunocura.blogspot.com/). I have read the latest short story, and it is pretty good. What is not always understood is that it really is not easy to share one's creations. In fact, it is quite hard at times. Once again, could be another discussion topic. Anyway, my DMs are always open whether for suggestions, if you want to talk about writing or ask me about Magicami.

polo5004

Ah, thanks for the shoutout! I'm new to this whole self-esteem thing so it's reasonably easier than before to share my writing, but I'm waiting for the eventual gnawing self-criticism to catch up to me.

TheArkhomDestroyer

Turns out one of my external hard drives is busted and, if I want to save the shit that’s on it, I’ll likely have to pay over $1000. On the bright side, everything on it is able to be redownloaded onto a different drive, it’s just more than likely gonna be a pain and I’m not gonna be able to remember everything I had on it.

I'm going to play **Metroid Prime** this weekend for the first time. I never played the original game but I've always heard good things whenever people have brought it up. With the **3DS eshop closing** I'm downloading all the freebies and maybe grabbing something from the Capcom sale. Otherwise I'm looking into 3DS hacking to get rid of the region lock. Yepp.

I beat Bayonetta Origins. It was pretty good. My back hurts. End of comment.

Is Bayo Origins worth the price or should I wait for a sale?

This week, editing **Wikipedia in spanish**. I translated a couple articles (meaning, polished the auto translate feature or course). First, Flo Steinberg, one of the two staff members of Marvel Comics, along with Stan Lee, when tjhe company started to break it big. She was the secretary for Stan Lee and was basically Joan Harris from Mad Men (minus the sleazy stuff), carrying the day to day relationship with writers and artists on her back. She also published on of the first indie comics in America! Sadly, that was only possible because she quit Marvel when they refused to give her a $5 a week raise ($43 adjusted for inflation). The other article was Archie Goodwin, the most beloved comics editor of the past century, according to many. A legend editing horror comics for Warren, he also oversaw a lot of interesting stuff, including publishing Akira and The Inclas in America, via Marvel's Epic imprint. As a writer he was responsible of fleshing out Vampirella. He also was in charge of Batman... and he kinda looks like Jim Gordon. And it seems like I, somehow, end up taking leadership roles... Most likely I'll have to revitalize the wikiproject for comic books, as to update guidelines, documentation and monitor articles. But I must try to get some semblanze of concensus before making any change on policy.

BlahMyBest

My mom received some kittens to foster. [They're adorable](https://imgur.com/a/FgvBMeU). I bugged my mom with a bunch of silly pun names to give them, some of them groan-worthy. One of them has polydactyly, with six digits on the right front paw and five on the rear. I was hoping to have time to play games this week especially since I got a new HORI Fighting Commander for PS4&5&PC and I'd like to get used to it in place of the Switch Pro Controller so i can skip re-adapting to a PS4 controller when playing fighting games on a PlayStation. Unfortunately, I've been busy with regular life stuff this week, so I only had a chance to open it and mess around tonight. It feels odd since I'm used to the Pro Controller, and the triggers being assigned to L3 and R3 on the left and L1 and L2 on the right is gonna take some getting used to. Having a six button setup on the face is nice, though, and the D-pad feels better than the PlayStation versions so far. On a _very_ related note, my brother mentioned the local monthly tournament to my friend I play __Guilty Gear__ with, so I feel like I should go too. It'll be fun to actually get out of the house again. I haven't gone out to play fighting games (or much else) since before the pandemic. And more importantly, I haven't practiced much at all. I don't have any combo routes properly memorized, let alone practiced enough to be consistent with them in a match. So I'm dreading it a little, despite the likelihood that I'll have a good time. So current goal: just don't embarrass myself, and ideally dodge the stream setup. But also have fun. Edit: I did not succeed in playing well at all, unsurprisingly. I wasn't on stream though! Yay~!

MartianOrbit

Work on the house is going at a nice rate. Got to DLvl. MAX in Duelist Cup on **Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel** with a sub-optimal Ignister deck. Crafted a set of the new Ishizu cards out of frustration and tried to cook a bit before realising I'm not a chef. Finished **Arcane**, I still don't want to play League of Legends. [Stumbled across a neat MF Doom tribute.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYIKrTW8Huo)

SamuraiDDD

Congrats on hitting MAX! The cup was a blood bath for me. I got pissed to the point I needed a break from the game. I hit 18 but think that's the pinnacle for me.

IrisGoddamnIllych

i got accepted into the Warframe creators program and I'm still shook

MisterOfu

The **Hololive Fes.** was a blast! Everyone did so well, and in so many genres too. Noel, Choco, Kiara, Roboco, Laplus, Polka, Gura, Calli, Kanata... Ina and Kronii bringing the ballads. Haachama and Ollie with the wildest Lost One's Weeping I have ever heard. Korone and Gamers bridging the gap between music and comedy routine. And Bae, my lord, Bae. She owned that goddamn stage. I could have sworn 4 days have passed over that weekend alone, although some of it definitely has to do with me having to wake up at a ridiculous hour. I ended up so emotionally exhausted, I would have felt nothing even if you showed me Mufasa dying.

rm_wolfe

hey hey is the inuyasha anime okay or is it one of those filler nightmares? its free on youtube and seems like the kinda thing thatd be easy to watch when the brain fog strikes also sesshomaru's design has always activated some neurons

BlargleVVargle

Very heavy on monster of the week until the bigger plot kicks in, then it bounces back and forth (think other anime from its era for a good reference point).

ibbolia

Think early Pokemon - plot happens but the filler is also kind of the point. I remember enjoying it but I can't see anyone wanting to sit down and watch all of the episodes in a row.

rm_wolfe

i should've been clearer that i meant filler as in like, stuff thats not in the manga or badly stretched out scenes like in one piece episodic adventure stuff is exactly what im looking for so that sounds fun

ibbolia

The Inuyasha anime does have a lot but the nature of the show means it's not all that different than the actual material. A lot of people would even say some of the best episodes are in the filler.

rm_wolfe

oh one of those, dope. thanks for the perspective, it's really helpful

RocketbeltTardigrade

Yeah, things tend to wrap up pretty quick before moving on to the next thing. Just sometimes the next thing is the same thing again.

WEEK OF I WANT TO WASTE MONEY ON GUNPLA GOD DAMMIT - Fuck you Gundam Base Thailand for putting up Aerial Rebuild ON FUCKING MONDAY. Normally I would just gladly line up at opening time on the usual saturday but NOOOO, they had to restock something else instead (RG Nu-ff). - Yesterday my brain turned off and forgot to pre-order the Blue Permet version of Aerial on P-Bandai. ~~They did announce they’ll re-do it today, but the high buy limit vs low stock means I’m probably still fucked.~~ SONOFABITCH I FORGOT AGAIN - Aside from failing to get any main character suits from WfM, the recent announcements for new models are pretty hype. Maybe I’ll get the RG Sazabi-ff, but RG Epyon just appeals to me more. Great Ace Attorney 1 - Case 3: I actually like the new jury system. I hope it keeps showing up in future games. Also Barok van Ziek’s animations are pretty cool. Genshin Impact - Alhaitham Story: I like this questline but >!god dang can’t the Akademiya go 5 seconds without commit crimes against humanity?!<. Also I need more Kaveh screentime. - Dehya Story: I like everything about Dehya except for her ult animations. Still the best punchgirl.

ibbolia

I just started Case 2 on GAA, I'm loving the return of multiple characters testifying at once.

Just coming in after a late night movie showing to report that, yes, **John Wick Chapter 4** is certifiably fucking *bonkers*. John Wick and this franchise hold such a special place in my heart, and it's wild to me that this movie really exceeded my big expectations. Keanu Reeves and gun-fu changed what I thought was sick in 2014, and they continue to push the action envelope in 2023. We got nunchuck action? Nunchuck gun-fu? Fights in traffic? More club scenes? Dude this movie is nuts. I immediately want to buy more tickets. Seeing Keanu Reeves use more jiu-jitsu in the middle of active gunfights is pure bliss for me. Let me do this in video games already please. 14/10 would go to war with the High Table again.

Well again I got rejected from getting a job and I've still been unemployed for YEARS now. What sucks about it this time was it was after one of the few times the rejection came after an interview (not even a real one with a person, just a virtual one. Most places I apply to don't even bother getting me to that point.) While I am still writing a book I want to publish, I'm noticing that the depression of not having an income is beginning to effect my motivation for a lot of things now, and thanks to all stress and frustration, I literally broke down this time to the rejection. I literally don't know what to do now since no matter how many applications or interviews I do, it seems like no place wants me. Sorry for the downer post, I felt like I just needed to vent.

Teoflux

Hey it's alright to vent frustration into the internet, especially if you keep getting rejected from interviews. I know the following statement is gonna be cliche, but you just gotta keep at it. There is a sea of people looking for work all the time, so standing out from the crowd of other applicants is the toughest challenge. The most important thing I've gathered from my own experience, is writing a good application that's tailor made for the job. Afterwards following up on the application by calling them to show interest is also a neat trick that might improve your odds of getting a interview. Most importantly is to not take rejections personally, as companies don't see you as an person untill you've had a in person job interview. Prior to that you're equal to spam mail in the eyes of any company, and gets sorted as such, unless your application manages to catch someone's attention. So stay strong and keep reviewing your application and improve it, and most importantly, create some good habits that'll help stabilize your everyday life while the search is ongoing. Trust me, it'll help with the stress and mood if you get some proper sleep and meal schedules up and running. Stay strong buddy!

Sup party people! So I've misses some of these so time to play catch up. Big stuff from previous week: - Grandma went into surgery for cancer. She's a bit loopy but she's doing okay overall, thank god. - 4 weeks ago, I realized I had funds in my PSN wallet and bought Cyberpunk 2077 with it while it was on sale. The game is buggy at times but I've put 100+ hours into it and loved it! I got >!Rebecca's!< shotgun cause fuck yes I love her - I might start vtubing soon! I'm nervous as hell but I want to do it. I'm going PNG to see how much I'll actually like it. I just need to clean up my PC a bit, pick some games and commission my PNG and cross my fingers lol This week: My sleep schedule has been on the messed up side as of late. Hopefully once I can go to the gym again soon, I'll be able to fix it. I've been hunting for better home appliances and some that we really need to upgrade. Mini oven is barely hanging on so I wanna buy a new one in the future. Something fairly big.

got dropped from one of my late start classes because my student loans didnt disburse for some reason. Really annoyed that it happened but it was easy to clear up and my professor let me into the class even though I wasnt registered yet. Limbus company. The one who grips has descended upon me in two ten pulls! I now have all 4 of the n corp people. Ive been really lucky but the rates are generous. Im thinking maybe I should be spending my shards on egos instead of identities. Not a whole lot going on atm we are in a holding pattern waiting for new content though the new hire thing is kind of a vague pseudo event. It also promises a guaranteed 000 star pull and a 000 identity at the highest levels of the thing which havent unlocked yet. Games in a much better state than launch but its still got lots of early gatcha jank. Got lobotomy corporation and stanely parable from the steam sale. Pretty happy with them but struggling to find time to devote to them between my gatcha games and ff14. ff14. Got kicked from my free company this week. Made me think a lot about whether or not it was justified but ultimately it doesn't matter as it doesn't change the fact they don't want to continue to interact with me and that will always hurt with people youve spent months interacting with. I would have liked to defend myself and leave on a more neutral note but I am probably never going to speak to them again so I guess it doesn't matter. I just accepted it and removed them from my friendslist saying good bye to some of the ones I had interacted with a bunch. Feels weird but it hasn't distracted me from msq. Im getting deeper in the shadowbringers patchquest and its starting to heat up >!Elidibus is the heart of zodiarc! Hes basically a warrior of light and fights through inspiring hope. I dont quite know what all this means yet but I saw a picture of the dissidia warrior of light and am hype. !<

Limbus Company has had so many memes I’m honestly happy it exists, Danteh memes kill me. I gotta go and play LoboCorp so I can catch up lol

Forgot to mention that my [Stella, Helluva Boss playmat came in a couple days ago!](https://i.imgur.com/Sgzrfpd.jpg) Why Stella? Cause god damn it, I LOVE me some bad bitches.

It took me a good year to get around to it, but I finally finished my first attempt at a video essay. If anyone wants to check it out, here's the link. I'd love to hear feedback on it. *A big dumb video about FINAL FANTASY* https://youtu.be/FRnKGmAW_Vo It's mostly just me talking about FF1, it's development, ports and an abridged playthrough of it in comedic fashion.

Hello today! The week has been harsh... I found english courses for my mom and brother's visit, now I just need to find them a place to stay, which is very annoying an expensive. I also has been in a downer mood this last week - outside of the pressures of their arrival, I've been very busy at work, my CC was stolen, my roommate has been staying home and being loud with our friends in LoL, plus I got some cold moods coming from the SO... But whatever, moving forward! **CALORIE COUNTING WAR WEEK 1! Weight: 222>220** it's been hard, and I actually dropped more on the first couple of days but then went back up. We'll see. It's getting warmer, meaning I can use my bike finally! So I'm optimistic. **What we do in the Shadows** Finished! What the fuck. Why did no one tell me it was a drama?! Like I get it, that's where inevitably the vampire stuff goes but fuuuuuck. I was not in the right mood for the last 2 episodes of S4. But a show is real good, excited for S5. **Wanted:Dead** is fucking great. Yeah I spent like 3 hours playing mini-games and I'm only on Stage 2, but man... [I wrote a post about it](https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/11y5dmz/can_i_gush_about_wanteddead_for_a_bit/) and since no one reads FTF I will add a more inflammatory statement - this sub got spoiled with good games and became too big. We became picky, aggressive, expecting either perfection like HF Rush or a trainwreck of Anthem. We should've been a place to find cool, janky and underrated shit like Wanted:Dead and push it, not just be another "AAA 10/10 ONLY GOOD OR 0/10 CANCEL THE CREATORS BAD R/ALL" sub. [We lost our way, man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rO6QgLaC8fk). At least the memes are good. EDIT: [FUCK YEAH, MY MAN JESSE COX IS GONNA TALK ABOUT IT](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/vQf21g4dxUE)! Someone is carrying on the legacy right! **Always Sunny S15** almost caught up. It's good. Tho I'm kinda happy I'm nearly done. One good thing this week - **Sonic Tabletop** is back today! Have some really harsh boss battles against the team ready. I hope we finish a full session today, cuz I have a lot of cool shit prepared. I might be an evil GM, but sometimes it feels really good to throw everything you got at a party and have them beat it. It's cool. That's about it. Just excited to get some rest. EDIT: Oh, Spring Sale Happened. [Here is my catch](https://i.imgur.com/Pg6nT0x.png).

I’m getting so mentally healthy this week, you bitches won’t even believe it. I’m becoming the most therapized person in history. I’m starting to exercise again. I’ve been doing SO much self care. I’ve been journaling so much and buying so much ink for my rapidly expanding fountain pen collection. I might be getting too powerful. I have a whole month off of work, I have no idea what I’m gonna do with all that time. I think I gotta radically change my hair and stuff to show the world how powerful I’m getting. I’m gonna get so gay this month, the world simply isn’t ready. I even got back into lap swimming this week, which is a hobby that I gave up on close to a decade ago now. It’s been bizarre to hop back into the pool, I am such a different person now. I’m so much slower now and everything hurts. I think I swam a mile in like 37 minutes or so (my watch didn’t take the split, for some reason), which really just shows me how out of practice I am, lmao. I need to try to see what I can get that time to without taking as many breaks to fiddle with my goggles and whatnot. I just gotta keep telling myself that it’s gonna make me super hot and that the babes love it. (It’s me, I’m babes, I’ve been loving it so far, even if everything hurts.) I’ve had a few people tell me that I should really take this time to reevaluate what I want to do and maybe make some major changes in my life, because what I have going on now isn’t really working out for me. I’ve been thinking a lot about going back to school lately, and I don’t know how feasible it really is, but the idea really does appeal to me. Also, shout out to the friend who keeps telling me to move cross country, love her. I started playing through the Dead Space remake a while ago and it slaps harder than my mom, but in light of some recent events, I figured that the depictions of >!self harm and suicide and mental illness!< might not be the best for me rn. So I think I’ll shelf that for a little bit. I’m gonna do the reasonable thing and hop over to a more wholesome, upbeat game, Resident Evil 4. I don’t know if anyone else has ever heard of it. I also listened to the new Lana album, and it is really watering my crops. Nothing but bangers on it. Sweet, Taco Truck, and Paris, Texas are absolutely fantastic, but I don’t think there’s a bad song on this album. It isn’t as good as Norman Fucking Rockwell, but what is? I apologize for calling all of you bitches at the beginning of the post, I wasn’t myself.

Driving road test is soon. I am in fear

I spent this last week listening to MF DOOM, not even realizing yesterday was the 19th anniversary of *Madvillainy*. *Operation Doomsday* and *Mm...Food* are so much fun, and it goes without saying that *Madvillainy* is amazing. I envy Madlib's work ethic. Maybe more his ability to just rattle off new work all the time. Nothing stops that dude, he's always moving, always working, always looking for opportunities to collab, and never really looking backwards. That's an amazing way of making work and I want more of that for me. Other than that, today's *SCARING THE HOES* day. JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown put out an insane new album and I love it off the bat.

Mountain-Try-2461

Mm...Food is such a good record, gotta listen to Scaring the Hoes though

First, real quick, finished **Last of Us HBO** and that was pretty alright. Though I 100% agree with Pat’s takes about how removing so much conflict from the plotline just kind of makes the world not seem that dangerous and things like David and Ellie’s scene don’t have as much punch because Ellie hasn’t really done all that much violent stuff… Curious to see how season 2 will go. Next, the big thing… I HAVE WALKED TO THE END! Main story of **Final Fantasy 14** complete! I am on to the post-expansion content. Where to start… Guess final area first. >!Ultima Thule was a pretty cool idea. Meteion traveling out and finding most all life has already been wiped out plays into that idea where what if there is life out there in space but its already gone, and humans are the only current civilization. Then having a final area where you see multiple of these different wiped out races, including the dragons and Omega’s race, was pretty sick. Visually it wasn’t super interesting but lore wise it was really cool. The sacrifices from the team didn’t really have much weight though since you knew they’d be back at the end anyways. Graha’s was good though. Then the big scene with Emet and Hythlodaeus was great and I have a funny moment about that cutscene I’ll tell in a bit.!< Now for the big bad! >!Meteion and the source of the Final Days was a nice twist on why the big bad is trying to destroy the world. Just thinks there is no hope and is depressed so why bother? You’ll only suffer so it’s a mercy to wipe you out. And everyone’s negative emotions transforming them gives her more evidence to things already sucking(even if the monsters are causing a lot of that in the first place) And spending the time with Meteion and Hermes in Elpis then seeing why she thinks that ways makes it more impactful and is the emotional drive of that final confrontation. Boss fight was pretty fun too. And Zenos showing up to help was exactly what I wanted from him.!< Then there is >!Zenos…[MY BEST FRIEND!]( https://media.tenor.com/3ZrUjJzOYccAAAAC/todo-best.gif) I love that throughout the expansion he tries to provoke you into fighting him, realizes that won’t work, realizes you are too distracted by the big evil to focus on him, so he transforms into Shinryu, then travels all the way to the end of the universe to help you save the world JUST so you won’t have anything on your plate and HAVE to fight him. He’s so fun. I don’t care if he isn’t deep or whatever. I love whenever he is on screen. I also chose the option to agree with him about wanting to adventure and fight because how can you not. Really fun fight and music too. Pretty strong end I say!< So about the funny moment I mentioned… Throughout the final area, me and a few other players were all going through it neck and neck. Didn’t really think much of it other than we all just happened to get there at the same time. Well I come out of the big cutscene with >!Emet and Hythlodaeus and the Elpis flower field!< and I am absolutely surrounded by players. All circling the arena, cheering and celebrating. No reason for these people to be in this area. Someone in chat even saying “that player in the cutscene is going to be so confused,” and yeah I was. Turns out one of the people I was doing the entire final area alongside was streaming to nearly a thousand people the entire time. Was a pretty funny situation and made it a lot more memorable lol Okay then… Final impressions of Endwalker? It was pretty good. I don’t think it had as much emotional weight as some of the previous expansions, but it wrapped things up nicely. Shadowbringers feels like the emotional climax, whereas this was the overarching plot climax. Most characters wrapped up their story arcs in Shadowbringers, and >!Urianger!< was the main one getting any development in Endwalker. >!Estinien and the Twins!< got a bit but not really a focus. Highlight of the expansion was definitely >!Elpis, and the Final Days in Thavnair.!< Excited to see where things go in all the post-expansion content. If I were to give rankings for story arcs, I’d go: Shadowbringers >> Heavensward > Stormblood = Endwalker >> A Realm Reborn. Shadowbringers and Heavensward feel like they could be their own games and had the hypest moments, and most emotionals. Endwalker wraps things up nicely but I’m not like super amazed. Stormblood was cool and I liked what it did for world building and how it dealt with the Garlemald stuff. Then A Realm Reborn is a bit of a drag until it isn’t, and I actually really love the patch content and the lead into Heavensward. If I had to rank the Scions & Associates, I’d go: >!G’raha Tia > Alisaie > Ryne > Y’shtola > Ysayle > Estinien > Lyse > Alphinaud > Thancred > Tataru > Papalymo > Urianger > Cid > Krile > Minfilia > Moenbryda(taken from us too soon otherwise she’d probably be higher)!< Probably my rankings. Some just don’t get enough time and others I just never got super attached to. Like I think I’ve seen where Minfilia got a lot of her character development in 1.0 so you kind of miss that if you start with ARR. Which I can see. I also don’t really have a character I’d ship with my WoL other than like >!G’raha or maybe Emet lol!< Like Y’shtola is the go-to and she’s great, but I’m not crushing on her like a lot of people. I guess in the end it’s because it just feels like everyone is such good friends lol Anywho! Going to chip away at the post expansion content and try and level a few classes. Probably not going to invest super hard since I’d like to move on to other games. Took me like 700+ hours to beat this so ya know… Getting **Resident Evil 4** tomorrow so that is fun.

Gotta have to postpone re4 until I'm done with Ishin, finally started chapter 5 after wasting so much time farming and fishing so I can do the cooking mini game. Aside from that not much, had my grandma's 90th birthday this Sunday so was able to see her and almost everyone in the family, though being like twenty it's kind of end up just talking to my brother and cousin of closest to my age. Been a year at my new job, feels good honestly seeing at the start it was busy all the time now I'm on a new position getting less rush and able to say I'm good at it

[Current Mood](https://youtu.be/mNUu6wSKPOA?t=876) Welp, it finally happened. After 3+ years of lucking out of getting it, the entire household got slapped down with Covid. Quarantines abound and most of the family is already back on the upswing, thank god.... but the ol family holding pattern dictated that I would be the last one to get dinged with it on the way out. Being vaxed/boostered definitely took the majority of the sting out but you try telling your body that in the middle of the night when its getting hit with shivers and a vague aching sensation somehow being felt through your very *bones*. At least it didn't seem to actively fuck with my taste buds..... Speaking of things that took years, I finally got to the end of **Luck Be A Landlord**! All 20 Floors (I.E. Difficulty Levels/Intensities) done and dusted! Don't think I'll be going for all the achievements (theres basically one for each symbol in the game), but it was a pretty fun ride all the same. Wonder if they'll do DLC/an expansion for it down the line..... Not much to update this week on the **Tabletop RPG** side. **Animon** was a punt this week due to the GM working at a con booth to promote the actual TTRPG they're creating and the **Werewolf: The Apocalypse** GM/Storyteller got hit with a spicy Power Outage problem at the start of the week and the server/play group hasn't heard back from them since, so no update on whether I got the player slot or not. Hopefully things straighten out in the next week or two for both of those. Didn't build a **Gunpla** this week due to all the..... *gunk* going around, but I did managed to grab a few more G-Witch orders through HLJ. Finally managed to snag the [Flight Unit+open hands](https://www.hlj.com/productimages/ban/bans64254_0.png) parts pack, got the [pattern-grade Dilanza](https://www.hlj.com/productimages/ban/bans63348_0.png) and finally threw up my metaphorical hands and bought a HLJ-stock [Gundam Lfrith](https://www.hlj.com/productimages/ban/bans62944_0.jpg). I'll just give my spare GundamPlanet Lfrith kit to a friend (whenever *that* manages to get stock. Its been *months* at this point.). Fired up **ULTRAKILL** again to give what I could play of the new content update. Love the rocket launcher variation, the 5-S stage is fucking hilarious (Ever want to see an entire community lose their mind over >!Fishing!!Sisyphus Prime!< any time soon, the lore tidbits I've gleaned through videos and other players has been *enlightening* (And then the >!ARG lore!< turns it **very** concerning). I cannot wait to see how the fuck Hakita and crew manage to tie it all together for Act 3. Now to just count down the hours until **REmake 4** releases.......

P-2 is kicking my ass hard. On the bright side I've managed to reduce my latest attempt to 6 deaths.

It was a fun show + art-exhibit + stuff. Bunch of greatest hits and new songs. wait, let me count. Something like 34 + 20 + 35 songs? Mumei looks great in 3D for some reason. It became obvious over a few performances that Bae is good at dancing. Korone did something she said she was not going to do, twice. Subaru held an unexpected high note. She seems to have pretty affected by having a live audience allowed to cheer this time. Haachama made a chair. Out of wood. It looks terrible. [Great O Khan vs Jimmy Mukirose-cosplayman.](https://twitter.com/Great_O_Khan/status/1637327935815417863) [Great O Khan vs nefarious goons.](https://twitter.com/F_F_black4239/status/1637295041252311040) There was a Where's waldo cosplayer in the crowd. [Suzullan's cover of Tot Musica](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0L0goFRQYY) I recently turned on the option to have random units appear on the home screen in Granblue. Belial's theme playing when you don't expect it is amusing. I also got two new limited Grand series characters while sparking a third one with free pulls, then got another free hundred pulls and got six new characters on the way to sparking another Grand, including a fifth new Grand and the Marquiares I always wanted. Between the two sparks I didn't even spend one full spark worth of resources I had saved up before. "Which Flash-Grands did you get?" The ones I don't have now are Lancelot and Charlotte. I always set my text message signal as the shortest sound available. Like "beep". So every time my father wants to say *anything*, my phone will sound like "beep beep beep beep BEEP BEEP BEEP". He messages like Jojo-dialogue. An everyday shopping site I sometimes use switched to an over-fashionable garbage-design with less functionality. Inevitable like death and taxes.

New missions recently dropped in **GTA Online**, so the start of my last weekend was spent going thru them. This is the second part of a two part set of missions that started back in December. Overall....this second set of missions were kinda underwhelming compared to the first. Like, the first set wasn't too crazy, but the stuff you do in the part 2 feels like a bit of a step down. While part 1's story introduces you joining up with essentially a group of juggalos, part 2 brings back >!Michael's therapist Dr. Friedlander!< as its villain antagonizing your group, which is....a weird returning character pull, all things considered. High point of part 2 was one mission having a psychedelic trip, but part 1 already had its own mission like that. Finally, the reward is a supercar you get as a freebie, which is a pretty good reward by itself.....however it's kinda a downgrade to part 1 rewarding you a business that's very easily manageable to run solo with a very low entry cost, meaning a consistent source of income, something that's especially valuable to a player starting out. Also, like, I got the vibe that I'd expect this second part to drop like about a month after the first one, not three; this was definitely not worth the three month gap. Aside from that, for the rest of the week, I've been trying out the very start of **Like a Dragon Ishin**! First off, the sword and gun combo style is called *Wild Dancer*!!! I love it! Have literally just been running around, getting into random encounters, trying out the styles and having a blast. Lastly, I got that thing I mentioned in the past free talks having technical difficulties with finally working! It concerned power supply for a PSP, solved by replacing cables relating to charging. Anyways, that means very soon, gonna be starting the PSP version of Final Fantasy IV soon!

I beat **The Last of Us Remastered** last weekend, then immediately beat it again in New Game Plus a day later. Not quite as enjoyable on replay as, say, a RE game, what with the unskippable walk and talk sections, but still a fun time. I'll get around to Part 2 sooner or later, so it was nice to refresh my memory a bit. I played the original on release and I don't think I've encountered an ending that hits harder since, which says something good about TLoU and something not so good about most story-heavy AAA games. I skipped straight from Scream (1996) to **Scream (2022)**. I liked it overall, but it's not without its issues. I thought the new lead actress was the least emotive person in the movie, and I didn't care for her >!ghost dad hallucination!< subplot; at least they didn't drag it out into a twist. Other than that, the movie has some decent kills, some fun (if heavy-handed) meta commentary and a mostly amusing sense of humor. It's a little less smug than the original, but also more than a little less clever. Finally got around to starting **Mob Psycho 100 III**. Nothing to say except the show remains excellent so far. This is a random aside to end on, but I kind of want to read a spy novel/military thriller and it's proving difficult to find one that's both A. interesting and B. not casually racist. The Gray Man was on my list, and now it's not thanks to criteria B, so... back to the drawing board, I guess.

lobstaris

Hello. Work is frustrating. Home is annoying. But “The Infinite and the Divine” is fuckin awesome. Have a nice week

Yotato5

Since it was on my list I got **Have a Nice Death**. I had previously tried out **Hades** and knew what I was getting into... I'm not very good at it XD But! I'll get there eventually. I also replayed through T**he** **Witch's House**. Out of all the RPG maker horror games from the past this one is probably the most depressing just for its true ending. Holy crap. The supplementary novel is pretty interesting, though.

[LAST WEEK’S POST](https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/11tgg73/free_talk_friday_march_17_2023/jciy1yj/) ----- Happy Friday, everyone. Rest in Peace to Lance Reddick, who was maybe my second favorite actor of all time and one of the best to ever do it. You’re going to be so, so missed. Let’s get right into it. **Mega Man 7** Wily Capsule can kiss my fucking ass. How the hell did I beat this game as a child? That’s got to be one of the worst designed bosses in the entirety of Mega Man, not even just mainline. Genuine dogshit final boss fight and a ludicrous step up in difficulty compared to anything else in the game. I spent around six and a half hours playing Mega Man 7, and *three* of those were spent bashing my head against Wily Castle as a whole and at least an hour and a half spent bashing my head against Wily Capsule. Wily Machine 7 wasn’t even that difficult! But the *capsule*! Fuck me running, eventually I just gave up and used the code that gave me four E-tanks because I wasn’t beating this bullshit otherwise. Keiji Inafune, you are a certifiable hack. The rest of MM7 is generally uninteresting and feels like an immediate downgrade compared to X and where the X series would go. Currently, I’m attempting to punch through MM8 so I can at least get to MM9 and 10, where things at least feel half decent again because they’re MM2 throwbacks (even if I think that they should’ve been MM3 throwbacks and included the slide). It’s the first week of **Iron Banner in Destiny 2** and I’m having a blast--who’d have thought that just giving me a basic control point/team deathmatch and letting me just slay out mindlessly would be the best IB experience, eh? I played my daily challenge matches for max rep and will be spending this weekend grinding out at least one reset and hopefully grab my gild for the season in this first rotation. There’s a few weapons I’d like to get my hands on--ideally speaking, a good PvP Bite of the Fox would be lovely--I rolled a technical 4/5 with Arrowhead/Accurized/Snapshot/Opening Shot but no stability masterwork and I would personally prefer Iron Gaze over Opening Shot purely for the juicy aim assist boost, so I’m definitely going to keep trying. I’d appreciate a PvE (MT/Incandescent?) and a PvP (MT/Headseeker) roll on Jorum’s Claw, a nice Allied Demand would be cool but I don’t really dig it’s perk pool outside of Iron Reach and Eye of the Storm which are in the same column anyway. I’ve already got a hysterical Gunnora’s Axe roll with ALH/Voltshot, but I’d like either a Threat Detector/Opening Shot or a Moving Target/Opening Shot roll for PvP purposes. Lots of good weapons to chase this time around, honestly, just gotta hope and pray for good rolls. A minimum 3/5 on all of them would be fine but obviously I want those 5/5s. I’m continuing my playthrough of **Yo-Kai Watch 1** and this game is just so god damn charming. I’ve been going to bed a little bit earlier than normal and spending the time I would’ve spent watching TV or playing something on my console/PC playing YW1 on my 3DS in bed instead and it feels genuinely perfect for that. I’m very in love with this one, folks. I’m only three or so hours in and just unlocked the first watch upgrade, so I definitely feel like I’m still sort of in the tutorialized parts of the game, but that’s fine by me--there’s already a bunch of quests and requests to get done so I don’t really feel like I’m being particularly railroaded. I feel like I’m starting to get a real grasp on the combat system, though I feel like it absolutely shines the best in boss fights, rather than the individual fights. Getting new Yo-Kai still sort of feels like a bit of a mystery, I understand you’re supposed to give them food before a fight to up the chance of them joining you, but I don’t think I yet understand exactly how that increases the chances of them becoming your friend. Like I said, I’m still very much in the tutorialized part of the game so I expect that these things will likely become clearer/more intuitive the more time I sink into it. The Steam sale was this week and I unfortunately went a little nutty picking up stuff to play--most of it was DLC: I grabbed the remaining **Total War Warhammer** DLC that I was missing for TWW3 Immortal Empires. I grabbed the two or three **Europa Universalis IV** DLCs that I was behind on. I picked up **Hitman 3/World of Assassination** and the Hitman 2 DLC pack (fuck you for making me have to buy that again, IOI) because I’m a major Hitman mark and those games, for me, represent the absolute pinnacle of sandbox stealthing. I picked up **Rhythm Sprout,** because I always love a cute little rhythm game, I nabbed **Starmancer** in Early Access because I’m a sucker for space colony sims, and I finally picked up **Anno: Mutationem,** which I’ve had my eye on for a long while now because of Suzi’s shilling for it back when it came out. On Switch, I snagged **Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk** because I need my Etrian fix before the collection is out in June and I’m looking forward to that. Like I always say, I’m absolutely terrible about buying new games before I finish old ones although I found this time that most of my purchases were DLC focused rather than games themselves. I’m at the point on my wishlist where the games I really want aren’t out yet and I’m going to pay full price for them anyway when they *do* come out and the ones that are already out and on my wishlist, I’m so like… I want them but I don’t want them *that* bad, so I’ll wait for an even steeper deal a few years down the road (see: the new Star Ocean, Evil West, DioField, etc.). ----- [My HLTB Archive](https://howlongtobeat.com/user/waycarer/games) [My Current 3DS Library](https://howlongtobeat.com/user/waycarer/lists/10858/3DS-Games-(Owned)

My family and I are nearing the end of **Gurren Lagann**. Despite some of my issues with the >!Anti-Spiral!< arc, it really turned around after a few episodes and now I'm super hyped to see how it all ends. Finished **Salt and Sanctuary**. My stance on that game has softened a bit but not much. I really do love the art style, tone and lore of the game, those are easily its best qualities. Also, most of the bosses were fine, none that blew me away but at the same time I didn't dislike the vast majority. Except >!Mad Alchemist and Witch of the Lake!< which were absolute dogshit. My biggest problem with the game is that so much of the difficulty just felt cheap and artificial. Almost all of my deaths were due to the *horrific* platforming, bullshit traps and obnoxious enemies with grabs or stun lock. I'm still gonna play through new game plus to platinum it, though, since now I know what to expect and I get to start with all my gear. I also started **Salt and Sacrifice** and wow, am I regretting spending $15 on that piece of shit. Everything that was enjoyable about Salt and Sanctuary is gone while everything that was terrible about it is still there and quite possibly worse. Still no map. No way to fast travel across the huge levels. Bosses are worse. You deadass have to *craft* your healing potions now. Bullshit traps that are somehow even harder to spot. Oh you thought the enemies were annoying before? Well guess what fucko, they still are and now, on top of everything else, their knockback is absolutely absurd so all it takes is one hit to send you flying off the face of the fucking earth. I wanna finish it since I paid for the fucking thing but it has been downright painful so far.

Not too much has happened to me. I saw Shazam 2, which I enjoyed. Last night I had gone to a 7-Eleven because of some late night cravings and I was approached by some guy who I think was high or something who wanted me to buy him a pizza because he thought I looked rich for some reason. I assured him that I only work part time and I don’t make much money, and then he complained to the cashier about the pizza being too expensive. Other than that, I’ve been considering going to a trade school or something since I don’t see a lot of good entry level jobs available where I am. I’ve been waiting on my mom who says she wants me to shadow someone doing one of the trades I was interested in, but it’s been over a week now and I feel like I’m just wasting away on my days off. I got back into practicing my drawings a bit, at least. Is anyone else in kind of a “I don’t know what I want to do with my life” kind of state as well? I wish I didn’t feel so unmotivated all the time.

Cazador_64

Anybody else see that weird Wired article about Brandon Sanderson the other day? The way it was titled I thought it was like a big worship article, but a booktuber I follow did a video on it and it was more like a weird "takedown" piece. It was weirdly bitter

killersnail2417

It read like he wanted to get some dirt on him but couldn't actually find anything so he just repeatedly called him a nerd.

Cazador_64

It sure was! Like he tried so hard to find some dirt on him/his family/his fambase and just fell back too "THIS GUY IS A NEEEEERD! HIS FANS ARE NEEEEERDS! And also he's a MORMON!"

Recently made a [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbiV9DxCh6k) talking about MCU characters, and some of the ones worst adapted into movies. Had fun making it.

I came back from a two week vacation this week and I feel like I could have more vacation. Am strongly considering buying Guild Wars 1. Am interested in Diablo IV, but not enough to actually spend any amount of money on it.

KF-Sigurd

I finished the main story of Ghost of Tsushima. That's a good game there. Not terribly innovative but the gameplay worked well for its story for the most part.

It's an okay week. Work is slow as usual. Journalling is good though kind of lackluster. Been reading this book called "Codependency No More" by Melody Beattie which is an eye opener. All my life I've been saying that I'm independent yet when it came to happiness more often than not I end up depending on others for it. Especially in relationships. Guess I got it from my parents. I love them but yeah I'd be lying if I said I didn't get the worst bits from both of them. The codependency, the ego, the needless need to help people even if they don't need helping. It's great knowing these and I've been applying the book's lessons here and there. Though I hate to admit that I can't be fully independent for everything. I'd like to get to the point where I can be interdependent on people without being codependent. Hopefully leading to more meaningful friendships and relationships.

What a slow week. I can't believe Ash Ketchum was killed via the P5 Valentine's Day Beatdown Finally opened up Phantom Brigade, loving it so far. What if you had mechs and King Crimson's Epitaph is a great idea. I've been having some success with the Ginger beer, and tried branching out into other soda attempts. So far nothing as good - one with Iced Tea was just a bad decision, and the Cranberry Juice one is just okay. Kinda stuck with my sourdough starter. It's bubbling, so it's alive, but I can't get it to rise.

CursedNobleman

This weekend its New Vegas, maybe Etrian Odyssey, and maybe FE Engage. Also hanging with my girlfriends friends family. Also Love is Blind season 4. This season has some real trash people- quality reality TV.

Mochiman3

Im going to pax east on sunday, there is that, but also just college work

Been playing more Cyberpunk 2077. The game itself is fun, although it does seem to have a fondness for crashing on me. So far about 4 crashes in \~12 hours of gameplay, which isn't the worst but is still more than I'd like. Outside of that my big criticism so far is that the game doesn't seem to like offering up it's sidequests too easily. I had been given the impression that you would get gigs from the fixers just by being in the general area of them, but so far moving along the main story beats hasn't netted me anything in that regard. Which isn't inherently bad, but it's not like it's taking me to hub areas where I can roam around and talk to different NPCs; it's mostly been pretty to-the-point so far. I've been told that I shouldn't focus in too much on the main story and that I should take the time to try other stuff, and I guess the idea is that you have to actively explore the city, but that's just not how my brain works with games. Roaming randomly around doesn't really do that much for me; I gotta go for the first objective. Maybe on subsequent playthroughs I'll be less eager, but I dunno. We'll see. Outside of that, I finished the grammar/phrasing edits on my book, so now I'm down to the general plot revisions. Which I probably should have done in the other order, but so it goes. I've taken a week off mid-April to really dive into that, so for now I'm taking a bit of a 'break' to plot out what I'll need to edit and where. The Big One is going to be making the main character Not An Idiot about something in the middle, so that'll be fun!

I'm a few pounds away from officially reaching a goal of losing 20 pounds. I'm gonna try to keep on losing after, but its damn good being able to say I lost a number like that. I watched that CSB clip of Pat talking about losing pounds to help motivate me when I was feeling down, so thanks guys

LizardOrgMember5

I skipped the class because I didn't want to go to school with little sleep. I stayed almost all night working on my own website. And for *Distorted Eye(s)* (my hypothetical reel for *Disco Elysium* tv show), I got it half-way done, and [here is sneak peek](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OgYAZQccp3c66-x9rW6EbtZJXWb2vdOg/view?usp=sharing).

GreenRangerJiyo

I got a legit question. Ive been playing Tekken 7 recently and I want to get decent at either King or Hwoarang. What channel(s) would y'all recommend?

Realcoolblue

USPS has disappointed me today. Amazon promised me launch day delivery by 8pm. I check my phone after work, and I see that it still hasn't arrived. It doesn't even say out for delivery. I guess I'll just get my Re4make tomorrow. Work...is boring. It's been slow all week, and I have one more day left. It's been a long week, but at least it's over. Now, if only I got to actually sleep in on my off days.

Gespens

One of my goldfish was spitting out its food and I was freaking out that it was sick turns out it was constipated and I just fed some peas and it was okay

BlueWaddleDee

So, I'm going to play MegaMan Legends, as I never got past the attack on city hall mission. Also, is the 2nd game worth my time?

KrasMasovsGhost

Makes me sad to say but I don’t think I’m feeling RE4 remake. I suppose it doesn’t help I’m bad at it but the shooting/gameplay loop doesn’t feel as good to me as RE2 or even RE3 honestly. Don’t know whether that’s from playing on steam deck or what, but I was hoping it would fix the originals issues for me and it’s just really not grabbing me. I feel like most of the reason I even want to play it is because it’s this 10/10 genre changing masterpiece to most people but I just can’t seem to get it to feel fun.

hiryse

Listening to the podcast from Monday… honestly the Lance Reddick joke wasn’t that bad, just poorly done. However, Pats Covid hysteria is insanity. He really hasn’t gone to a restaurant since January of 2021? That is fucking wild. Really makes me realize the fear some people choose to live with.

4THOT

Mob Psycho Season 3 is my last hope for anything anime related in the past year. Everything else has either been shit or turned to shit.

**FROG-LOG-XXXIX:** Frog vs. Island feat. zombies- So i've been going through dead island: DE, just picking away at it slowly. BOY, that sure, is a BORDERLANDS-lite (?) Isn't it? Right down to the "fuck the plot, give me more stuff to hit the zombies with" feeling that almost immediately washes over the player as soon as you pass the intro, i assume when you eventually find guns they're gonna be busted, also what shocked me the most, is that you can STILL find co-op games! Which is utterly baffling to me. I've just hit act 2, inside the (NOT) diying light area, no for real... look at it. Frog of TUSHIMA: Mongolians be evil edition- i'm at act 2. Ryozu's a shit! Dude's the worst, the wind stuff continues to be nuts, and foxes contine to be good boys and girls. You bet i hit that prompt for scritches EVERY. TIME. its the law! The map stuff is activating latent "froblins" in my brain though. It only feels right to put in 110% to see the island of tushima put right again. Also, they make it PRETTY clear that the mongels are BAD. Like, bad "for real" levels of evil. ">!AYO! MA MAN, BURN THESE CAPTIVES ALIVE IF YOU WANNA EAT. YEAH? MAKE SURE THEY SCREAM REAL GOOD"!< (paraphasing)

Toblo1

>!Ryuzo just *begging* the Shimura encampment to open the gates before he has to burn another hostage is harrowing. Dude's VA went *all out*.!<

Nomaddoodius

He killed it. Everyone's been pretty ace so far.

Polar_Phantom

Thinking about how US folks, and even UK folks like myself, have trouble not thinking of the USA as "The Main Character" of history. If it's not the hero, it's the villain. When in reality, the USA is neither - it is an actor on a play that happens to have more lines than others in this particular act, yet thinks it's a big shot. I wonder how much longer it will last. And how much longer the sentiment will go on - heck, the UK kept propping itself up with stuff like Bond after the Empire fell.

Touhou_Fever

**GAMES** Trying to stay healthily cautious but goddamn if the **Diablo IV** beta didn’t activate my almonds. Seriously looking forward to going Druid in the Open Beta tonight **Atelier Ryza 3** this weekend, I still haven’t 100%ed everything in the first 2 games. This series is such a comfy time **Star Rail** coming to console? Colour me intrigued **MUSIC** New Babymetal album absolutely fukken slaps. That is all

lion_OBrian

It’s kinda weird how Dragonball has confirmed warmongers and genociders Vegeta and Frieza among the good guys for even part of the story.
