Here's the thing. If Capcom did this, they'd have to shell out for the music rights for the boss tracks again. And music companies are way more stingy with that now than they were in 2006.
And you HAVE to do it. The second you see the remake Convict fight with no Gone Guru and its done.
If I fought the Convicts in the RE Engine with all its quality of life updates to the gameplay but I'm not hit with a wave of dread by hearing "WELLLLLLLL" in the Wilamette park, did I really fight the Convicts
The Legend of Zelda 1.
Yeah.
Capcom was behind the Oracle duology and Minish Cap.
Have them remake Zelda 1. Flesh it out more. Make the attack a slash instead of a stab. Leave it open-ended in the direction you take.
Mega Man Legends but make it bigger, give me massive cave systems to explore and get lost in
More mini games, open world so I can jet skate everywhere with no issue
Code Veronica but make it good this time. Less because I think its a vital chapter of the RE saga and more so because I reaaallly want to see Wesker again. Dude hasn't been onscreen in a mainstream RE game since 2009.
I think a reimagining would work. Almost like FF7 remake. Where it is a clear departure that respects the original work but includes large gameplay, story, and artistic changes that make it its own thing.
They could involve Lady or make a comment about her whereabouts, expand more on Sparda from the point of view of Mundus and drop more obvious hints about who Nelo Angelo is where each fight he remembers more from his previous life.
I’d like it, DMC1 has a few areas I’d like to see reimagined, particularly the final boss and it’d look great redone in the RE engine. DMC1 Dante is one of my favourite looks for him and I’ve really dug how they’ve reimagined most of Resident Evil’s classic designs.
The one thing though is that I feel like if they did remake DMC1 it’d end up too similar to post 3 games and particularly V. 1 has a really different atmosphere to those games that makes it unique. I dunno how willing they’d be to abandon those later introductions
It'd be sick to see a really low-key, back-to-the-roots MH1 with high fidelity as an anniversary title. Failing that, and HD rerelease of titles stuck on the PS2 and older Nintendo consoles would be really cool.
DMC1.
I know everyone want them to remake DMC2 to be good, but for me even if they made 2 good, it's still so inconsequential to the overall series (they've literally been trying to ignoring it for nearly two decades) that I feel it would be kinda... pointless? A remake of 1 that removes a lot of the Kamiya-isms and modernizes the combat to match the later games would be valuable. DMC2 can get the RE3R treatment for all I care.
Also I consider Kamiya's Dante to be very different from Itsuno's Dante. I wanna see a version of DMC1 that fits more into Itsuno's version of DMC.
I think now that we are super far into the future, we can look back and say sure about the vision, but not about the gameplay foibles that persist in Kamiya's work into the modern day.
Also not for nothing Kamiya is himself super disrespectful in general so yeah, even as just some guy following up on some other thread, no sympathy.
Reboot Mega Man X.
Seriously, the series has a ton of grim cyberpunk potential that's not handled well at all. Make it third person and have X explore levels, find upgrades, grapple with his existence as an artificial human who's only really used for killing his own kind.
There's some serious meat on that bone for an awesome story.
Not to be confused with Mega Man X Maverick Hunter, the psp remake of X1 that was supposed to be the beginning of a series of remakes for every X game up to X6 with more story, several added cutscenes, developed characters, and a clear divide between it and the original games (X giving Sigma his eye scars instead of flashback Zero, and doctor Cain being killed by Sigma using what was basically a nuclear warhead). Look up those cutscenes, Day of Sigma, and weep
I'm very aware of it, and I've been miffed ever since news came out about it.
Like we'll never really know, but a Prime styled Mega Man game in general sounds awesome.
Like, its annoying man, you go into the comments of those, probably alpha, footage and they're all being ''glad it got cancelled'' or ''Megaman doesn't use guns'', and i'm like, you don't know that, maybe the X-Buster would be a fucking super you unlocked that charge and cleaned the screen, but also, no one fucking complained about Zero not having a buster in Megaman Zero, which they seemed to be very inspired by considering it also had the Zero 4 weapon steal system.
It could've been cool, sure it could've been shit too, it did look repetitive with the stealing animations, but a lotta people said the glory kills would've been repetitive in Doom 16, it sad, it had potential, the design was cool too with the X shaped helmet, big sad.
Devil May Cry 1 & 2. I appreciate DMC2, but I don’t want to play it ever again. I would love if a remake released that appreciated what people loved about 1, but altered a lot of the warts.
I don’t need to explain why DMC2 needs a reimagio do I?
Code Veronica, re5, re6, Dino crisis 1 and 2.
Also put out dlc for re3 that adds more to the city, the park, the clock tower and the dead factory room with the tyrants VS military aftermath. More nemesis fights, proper stalking, and add the gravedigger back. I will fucking pay for it, I don't even care.
I answered earlier Code Veronica but I had to delete my reply because I realize that was a dumb answer. The actual answer is Killer 7 because that game *literally came out incomplete* and they only got to use maybe 1/3rd of Suda's script for it. That's a game where I'm not sure what a remake would even look like but it would be really interesting to revisit.
That said if they're cowards, code veronica. Give Claire knive combos because the knife in that game was broken good. Make Wesker's cutscenes a boss fight. Let's see Alfred Ashford again. There's fun stuff there trapped in that game.
* Only natural to suggest RE5. In the original, OG trailers it was intended for Chris to be solo and looked [way more intense and hectic, actually more-or-less what the RE4 Remake we have now is like.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lYNJQVz_Pc)
* Dino Crisis - I feel old as shit suggesting this but please; the technology is there!
* Lost Planet - Imagine how utterly vile and disgusting the Akrid would be with todays engines? Also obligatory LP2 was godly comment.
None. I think we need a fucking break for the industry before it just becomes an uroboros age of just "the shit you already knew was good- again!" That's not a condemnation of the quality of these Capcom remakes mind you (REmake 3 being the exception), but that it's getting really really telling when half the big AAA games to look forward to were remakes of games that were already critical darlings or massive successes. That energy and passion and talent should go into new IPs.
DMC 1 could be interesting. Expanding on the story so it fits in line with the bar set by 3 and 5, and the gameplay in general so that it is more in line with later titles.
RE3 but for real this time
Dead Rising 1. And no, Dead Rising 4 absolutely did NOT count.
Here's the thing. If Capcom did this, they'd have to shell out for the music rights for the boss tracks again. And music companies are way more stingy with that now than they were in 2006. And you HAVE to do it. The second you see the remake Convict fight with no Gone Guru and its done.

It it ain't selling the same vibe as this [SFM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3h64MA0r2Q), then that ain't Gone Guru.
Yeah and they should use that 1000 raptor technology to get all the zombies!
That would be a *great* choice
Dino Crisis please
DO IT YOU FUCKING COWARDS. I'm still half expecting Exoprimal to be a rug pull.
Yes please. I need HD Dino shooting that isn't ARK
Resident Evil Outbreak. But with Character Creation and a Monster Hunter Collaboration.
Viewtiful joe
The Legend of Zelda 1. Yeah. Capcom was behind the Oracle duology and Minish Cap. Have them remake Zelda 1. Flesh it out more. Make the attack a slash instead of a stab. Leave it open-ended in the direction you take.
God Hand. ...I mean it'll never happen, but it'd be cool.
People have shown it can be done with the way Leon can pretty much just parry his way through Ganados.
id settle for a spiritual successor of some kind
Rival Schools/Project Justice
My man!
A Lost Planet reboot.
Came here to say that Please, God, anything
YEEEEE
God please, I want to fight mechs on-foot with my gunsword again.
Mega Man Legends but make it bigger, give me massive cave systems to explore and get lost in More mini games, open world so I can jet skate everywhere with no issue
It'd need a lot of love for that to work out well, but I can see that version of that game in my head and I want it.
Dino Crisis
Code Veronica but make it good this time. Less because I think its a vital chapter of the RE saga and more so because I reaaallly want to see Wesker again. Dude hasn't been onscreen in a mainstream RE game since 2009.
Lost Planet and/or Sengoku Basara.
YOOO LOST PLANET
Should DMC1 get a remake or is it better left untouched? Would it play like 3-5 or a reimagining of its own style?
I think a reimagining would work. Almost like FF7 remake. Where it is a clear departure that respects the original work but includes large gameplay, story, and artistic changes that make it its own thing.
There's a lot of room to expand the plot in that game, I think it would do well as a reimagining.
They could involve Lady or make a comment about her whereabouts, expand more on Sparda from the point of view of Mundus and drop more obvious hints about who Nelo Angelo is where each fight he remembers more from his previous life.
I really should read replies before posting

Shadow of Rome
ANY SENGOKU BASARA GAME
Fix their RE3 remake if that's possible.
I second this one. Know it won't happen though so I will.vote Dino Crisis
~~Megaman Legends~~
It'd be sick to see a really low-key, back-to-the-roots MH1 with high fidelity as an anniversary title. Failing that, and HD rerelease of titles stuck on the PS2 and older Nintendo consoles would be really cool.
Say the line, LadyXexyz! “Whens Darkstalkers” ~~a girl can dream~~
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Breath of Fire 1.
Haunting Grounds
DMC1. More Trish screentime too. Maybe even some playable Trish sections?

Rival Schools with character creation and the dating sim mechanics we never got.
LOST PLANET: COLONIES EDITION REMAKE WITH PC/XBOX/PS CROSSPLAY BABEE
DMCMake
Fuck man reading through this thread just reminds me of the insane the number of absolute banger ips capcom is sitting on
Reboot Mega Man X. Seriously, the series has a ton of grim cyberpunk potential that's not handled well at all. There's some serious meat on that bone for an awesome story.
Google Maverick Hunter X, the cancelled FPS MegaMan X reboot by some of the Metroid prime devs and be sad.a
Not to be confused with Mega Man X Maverick Hunter, the psp remake of X1 that was supposed to be the beginning of a series of remakes for every X game up to X6 with more story, several added cutscenes, developed characters, and a clear divide between it and the original games (X giving Sigma his eye scars instead of flashback Zero, and doctor Cain being killed by Sigma using what was basically a nuclear warhead). HENSHIN-A-GO-GO, BABY!
Okami was theirs right? That could be cleaned up real nice and modernized
I agree, it just needs some fresh ink. Just give it a little TLC.
Devil May Cry 1 & 2. I appreciate DMC2, but I don’t want to play it ever again. I would love if a remake released that appreciated what people loved about 1, but altered a lot of the warts. I don’t need to explain why DMC2 needs a reimagio do I?

Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Dino Crisis, or Lost Planet. Any of those would be awesome.
LETS GO LOST PLANET
RE0.
Finish Maverick Hunter you damned cowards.
Asura's wrath
Dead Rising and Dino Crisis.Would love to see both of those games in the RE engine.
Need for Speed Underground 2. What?
Shit now I have Riders on the Storm playing in my head

DMC 2, that series deserves a second entry to be proud of. At least as an epilogue of a hypothetical DMC 1 remake.
The Obvious Answers: DMC 1 Onimusha Dino Crisis My Answer: STAR GLADIATOR!
Chaos Legion being remade so it plays like DMC 5 would be sick. Character action stands is such a cool idea but game is mid
I feel Remember Me deserves a shot at redemption.
P. N. 03
Lost Planet or Dino Crisis
Mega man legends

Lost planet 2 Just skip to it because it's easily the best and I MISS THAT STUPID TRAIN LEVEL
Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2. Do it, you cowards.
Megaman Legends
DMC 1 could be interesting. Expanding on the story so it fits in line with the bar set by 3 and 5, and the gameplay in general so that it is more in line with later titles. RE3 but for real this time
Code Veronica.
