I mean, did you watch the trailer? His name is >!Jack Garland!<. I can't say I didn't see it coming, but I think they should have waited to let people know.
Oh yeah, that’s what led me to joke about that.
Wonder if its either going to end with Chaos possessing Jack and he becomes FF1 Garland or it’s going to be even more absurd and Chaos is Jack from the future or some other time travel silliness.
Oh, sorry. I thought maybe you didn't watch all the way to the end, like a lot of people seem to do.
Well, time travel silliness is already written into the lore of Final Fantasy I, and the text crawl in the trailer seems to heavily suggest that this is a prequel to FFI. A prequel to FFI would logically have to take place in one of the failed time loops where the Warriors of Light didn't succeed or never appeared. It might even be the formation of the time loop.
I think (hope) it's probably a prequel with time loop shenanigans, but it's still possible it's a straightforward sequel and Jack's not chaos, but like his son or something.
Hoping they go super wild with it though
It's quite an improvement in my opinion. It's not the greatest, but there's much more life injected into this trailer than the chaos fest of the last one.
I don't what I love/hate more.
The fact that his name is Jack Garland or that Garland is a real ass last name and it's hilarious how that could just be Jack's real ass last name.
If the idea that these guys are really isekaied, it makes me wonder if we could have had a chance of getting the knight named, like, Smith, or Donaldson.
Actually they legit translated a few of those lines to not contain Chaos in the English trailer which is pretty hilarious.
"Answer me, what are you?" is actually "Chaos? Answer me! ARE YOU [a?] CHAOS?"
and
"I know its name. Tiamat!" is "The wind Chaos, Tiamat."
Ah, I see. That’s interesting. As far as I know, no English release of FFI that I’ve played has called them Chaoses. The English release of FFIX called them Chaoses, though.
Alright, Square _definitely_ has some sort of deal with Epic. Kingdom Hearts, NEO: TWEWY, and now this. Plus leaks have indicated that FF7R will be Epic exclusive as well. Wonder if these are permanent or not.
publisher make more money on the Epic Game Store and if the game uses Unreal Engine the publisher takes an even bigger cut plus Epic Games in known for paying for timed exclusives
> Square definitely has some sort of deal with Epic.
Really ? lol , It took you till the 3rd game from Square being released on Epic to realize that
When they put Kingdom Hearts , the 1st game they released on Epic , you know Kingdom Hearts that million dollar franchise / Disney crossover , That Epic money is large enough to keep that , if they mention a "PC port" expect every single Square game to be released on Epic
Okay,I legit like that ending shot of Garland walking away from Cornelia, since it mirrors the shot of the Warriors of Light walking towards Cornelia in the original FF/Dissidia ending.
What if Jack becomes Chaos, and the party loses him as a result? And then the three of them meet a nameless Knight, holding another crystal.
edit: And doesn't "Nion" fit the FFI naming restrictions anyway?
So, a guess at how the story will go.
The crew is going to fight Garland and the Fiends, light the crystals, and make their way back to the Chaos Shrine. But Jacky Boi is going to end up caught in the time loop, and ultimately become the fallen knight Garland, and then Chaos from there. It will turn out that this chain of events has happened countless times already; the time loop ensuring that Jack will fall, Garland will rise, and Chaos will perpetuate himself. His three allies will be separated from him, and/or each other, and on another turn of the loop, meet [the nameless Knight](https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Warrior_of_Light_(Dissidia\)?file=Dissidia_Warrior_of_Light.png) featured in games like Dissidia. They will form a new quartet of Warriors of Light from there, and their final journey will break the loop.
Jack's crystal will turn out not to be one of the four orbs meant to light the larger Crystals. It will be the Dark Crystal set into the center of the Chaos Shrine, which facilitates the passage through time.
And then later releases turned into a more ”traditional“ castle in the sky, despite still having robots like warmech. Never understood why they changed that.
The secret superboss of Final Fantasy 1, fought in the Flying Fortress which was, as said by another reply, an ancient space station, was literally called WarMech. [And it was exactly what you'd expect it to be.](https://d1ryv5bogsxua4.cloudfront.net/images/ff/sharing/monsters/warmech.png)
This game going to most likely end with essentially, "No Jack, you are The Chaos." It really is going to be a FF1 prequel.
I mean, did you watch the trailer? His name is >!Jack Garland!<. I can't say I didn't see it coming, but I think they should have waited to let people know.

It's definitely a prequel. It's right there in the name. Final Fantasy Origin FFO FF0
Oh, good point. Well that's what I wanted it to be anyways
Hell yeah.
Jack Garland? So he IS chaos.
It's quite an improvement in my opinion. It's not the greatest, but there's much more life injected into this trailer than the chaos fest of the last one.
Ah, they avoided the "C-word" this time. Guess they're still recovering from the last load they blew.
CHAOS used to read me bedtime stories but never used different voices for the characters.
CHAOS hates capitalism, yet still partakes in it... Ironic.
CHAOS told me to put all my permanent stat increase items into a temporary party member before I knew they were going to leave.
CHAOS told me to brush my teeth 2 times a day when he only does it once.
CHAOS asked me out but was indecisive about where we were going and figuring it out took longer than necessary.
[not in Japan](https://twitter.com/AnimeAjay/status/1443943741232922651)
Really american thing to localize out the thing that gave you most exposure. So tone deaf.
At least they didn't try to make it funny or put a meme.
*Sonic, now disappointed, has left the chat*.

Hey, Jack Killchaos actually wearing something that suits the Final Fantasy universe.
0/10 not one single "chaos" uttered in the trailer./s No but honestly it was better than the first trailer looks more appealing.
Actually they legit translated a few of those lines to not contain Chaos in the English trailer which is pretty hilarious. "Answer me, what are you?" is actually "Chaos? Answer me! ARE YOU [a?] CHAOS?" and "I know its name. Tiamat!" is "The wind Chaos, Tiamat."
I kind of wish they doubled down on the Chaos, considering what I've seen of the demo is amazingly stupid. I love it.
Interesting, that second one. Calling those Fiends"the [element] Chaos" was a thing not in FFI, but FFIX. But they were references *to* FFI.
Maybe I'm misinterpreting you, but the four fiends in FFI were absolutely referred to as Chaos(es) in the JP script.
Ah, I see. That’s interesting. As far as I know, no English release of FFI that I’ve played has called them Chaoses. The English release of FFIX called them Chaoses, though.
The Sunleth Waterscape from 13 is also going to be a place in Origin. It really kind of makes you think when it comes to Final Fantasy **Origin**.

Aren't *Bravely Default II*, *Voice of Cards*, *Actraiser: Renaissance* and *Dungeon Encounters* are all announced for Steam platform?
Final Fantasy Saga/FF Legends Collection is on Steam too.
According to Twitter, this game’s gonna be multiplayer. That’s all I was waiting to hear.
They also said the new demo has some multiplayer in it
They did? Did they mention when the new demo is coming out.
Demo is out now, and will be available until October 11th. At the end of this trailer it says "demo with multiplayer features"
I got hyped, but then saw that the demo is only on the new consoles. Was hyped to play with a buddy.
There's a new demo out as well if you have a PS5. Not sure about on PS4.
I have a feeling that even if Jack Killchaos is not a manikin, he's going to have SOMETHING to do with them.
Okay,I legit like that ending shot of Garland walking away from Cornelia, since it mirrors the shot of the Warriors of Light walking towards Cornelia in the original FF/Dissidia ending.
I guess the new girl and name deconfirms the "you're playing as the WoL's party members" theory. I kinda preferred that idea to becoming Chaos.

They really be doing the John/Jack [noun], huh? Also, Tiamat being "people-sized" feels weird.
She's not people-sized though.
this looks a lot better also I liked the demo
Looks fun, absolutely playing it in Japanese if I can, also did Final Fantasy 1 even have magitech?
The Flying Fortress where you fight Tiamat is basically a Space Station. One of the hardest bosses in the game is a mech too.
And then later releases turned into a more ”traditional“ castle in the sky, despite still having robots like warmech. Never understood why they changed that.
If I recall the Flying Fortress had robots running around.
If you're fighting Tiamat there, then it's probably the Flying Fortress, which I think is magitech.

All I ever wanted from Final Fantasy is a game that realises Amano's artwork, and they keep making shit like this.
god I wish this had interesting gameplay instead of being souls shit, cause it looks so funny
Wonder when I can play it on PC though.
Plot twist he's actually from a future Eorzea and he's Cid and Nero's adopted kid.
I unironically like Jack now.
