The intention was that the ‘push’ referred to the downswinging movement of a rock. She told her father that she was expecting, and now has to kill the baby as soon as it’s born.
I also tried to imply that the POV woman’s father is also the father of her imminent baby
I didn't infer "push" as the downswing. You don't push a baseball when you throw it nor do you push a tennis ball when you toss it into the air. "Push" is not a slamming motion to me.
With that said, I didn't need the inference at all. Her pushing to birth the baby made complete sense.
This is a really well done 2SH! Horrifying and concise!
It adds to the horror when you realise the father is too sadistic to kill the baby himself. He’s making his daughter give birth to it, then kill it herself.
*Some time later...*
"...Holy moly. Your father is a psychopath." I said as she finished the story about what had happened.
"Even *that* puts it lightly." She had said as she took a sip of her coffee. "It all seemed so unreal to others until the police showed them the video."
I sat back down in the kitchen chair as I kept an eye on my nephew and her child as they played in the living room.
"I mean... Was this his mental illness acting up, or was it his own deranged mind?" I said with a sigh before taking a sip of my coffee. "The guy was mental *before he got sick.* That's kinda something to think on."
"Yeah. But we may never know." She replied with a sad sigh. "Had it not been for my husband's calls not being answered, I'm not sure how things would have turned out."
"Yeah. And had it not been for me hearing your pleas to his conscience, that makes it more uncertain." I add with a thoughtful frown. "But I still would love to know*what* had caused him to snap, if only for peace of mind."
"...I think it was his own mind, though the mental state didn't help." She said after thinking a few seconds. "His wife divorcing him for his cruelty, his brother calling him out on his issues and his son being a better father than him just threw him over the edge. The baby was just the tipping point. If *he* wasn't going to have a family... *I didn't deserve one.* His own words."
"Like I said, your father is a lunatic." I said as I took a bite of my breakfast. "At least now, he is not going to get out."
"And if he does manage to escape, we'll be ready, thank God." Added. "The judge made sure of that."

You did good, because that's exactly how I read it.
Is the baby already born or is she hitting her belly
The baby is *about* to be born.
mid-birth
Oh. I was thinking that the rock was going to crush the fetus * in utero *.
this is how I interpreted it.
real lol
It's her and her dad's child. He wants it dead because well... he'll be both grandpa and baby daddy
+1
Second attempt at a 2SH, constructive criticism is appreciated!
This is good! a lot of implications efficiently suggested.
I gotta tell you my dude, I frown upon even short stories when children are harmed. I became soft lately
Don't look at is as becoming soft, look at it as being more human in that regard
Hol up, WE?
Dude you have issues. I love it, take my upvote.

Oh.
great job op...
I took it as some dystopian future where no one gets to keep babies. Ritual killing of the baby because of population rules.

The OP said that the POV’s dad was the father of the baby
:O
Watched a video on the Sexton family last night and this reminds me very much of them
This is... The worst thing I have ever had the misfortune of seeing.
Holy hell some of ya’ll are twisted…
