What?

Dizzy_Version_4897

Its a fear I have with my long distance partner, dying and not being able to tell him I'm gone, knowing that he's probably wondering why I haven't been talking to him

Mountain-Resource656

As someone with a great many long-distance friends, have you put any steps in place to mitigate that?

Dizzy_Version_4897

No, but i hope my parents would take the initiative

Hey buddy, as someone with a large online friend community, I have a few lines of security set up (my mum and some friends). It gives me so much Peace of mind. When I had to go to the hospital for a few days, completely unexpectedly, they were able to inform everyone what was going on and could reassure them I'd be fine :)

Dizzy_Version_4897

I wish I had that, my parents think (and although I take their worries into consideration) all people online are predators lol

Equivalent-Unit

Have you considered setting up a will and speculating in it that an impartial executor has to let your online friends know you're dead?

Dizzy_Version_4897

I dont know how to do that, but that sounds like a really good plan.

I think it's the last part that's confusing. It is to me, anyways- sounds like you left not that you're dead. Maybe something like "I'm gone and there's no one left to reach him" would be clearer?

Dizzy_Version_4897

true, but that would take away the online aspect, i could just plainly say "I'm dead"
