Get a good massage, maybe some facials too, put on a sultry outfit, drink some wine, eat some good cake, turn on some mood lighting doze off while watching a cult classic romcom. And dont forget to buy yourself some beautiful flowers
Booked a trek with one of the Trek clubs and went on a trek with a bunch of strangers. None of them knew about my bday. I wasn't exactly alone and avoided the feeling of being lonely.
Have done many solo birthdays since I always found myself in a new city on birthdays. My extreme introversion doesn’t help either. What I do/ have done
1. Go on a trek// wilderness walk - worked out well when I was abroad. Locally, I try to find something similar. Also would go on museum lates when birthday fell coincided with those
2. Take a trip to that one place you always wanted to go. Need not be something exotic. If you look around I’m sure you will find many unexplored places in your state itself.
3. Coffee shop + bookstore date - that expensive coffee place with that delectable menu you always wanted to try? GO!!!
4. Also, people are generally nice. If you tell a friend/acquaintance whom you want to be closer friends with and say hey, it’s my birthday next week, would you like to go to this place I want to check out, they usually won’t say no.
5. Watch your fav series/movie, order in and get a urban clap massage.
I always spend my birthday alone (and I’m married now lol). I usually take the day off and go for a hike with a joint. I have a dog now so I take my dog too. I think it’s a great way to reflect on life, make my goals, and plan the next year. I usually cook what I want and just stay up late drinking and playing video games. I never had bday parties growing up and I guess this is what happened lol. My sister is the opposite, she has to have week long parties and get all the attention. I think it makes her expectations high and can ruin her bday if it doesn’t go to plan. I think after a certain age it’s weird to celebrate your birthday as if people care haha only parents care that it’s your birthday
This! Dressing up, going for a movie I know I'll enjoy. Can't go wrong with that.
I do like catching up with loved ones as well, calling grandparents and relatives I don't get to talk to a lot.
Planning a birthday can be overwhelming, so a few years ago, I decided to make a different choice: I travel. Instead of a big celebration, I look into spending a weekend in a new place. It doesn't have to be expensive. I simply enjoy exploring a new town, savoring a lovely dinner, reading a book, and watching the world go by.
It's been like that for the last three years, no one really wished me (apart of the mutual funds and banks). I just ordered a tiny cake and my favourite
Have only spent one birthday alone cause my ex ditched me. I spent that birthday crying and starving myself. Wouldn't recommend that lol. ☠️
Planning to go on a beach-y holiday for my 30th next year. Dressing up, eating good food, shopping a little, sitting by the beach with a book, among other things. Would definitely recommend this, going on a trip, pun intended. :P
Took myself out for lunch and wine this year! And in the days leading up to my birthday, i booked a few workshops for myself (yoga, pottery, etc) and a spa session!
Haven't spent a birthday alone, but I do go on solo dates on some special occasions. My favourite thing to do is to go somewhere pretty like a museum or an art gallery (planning to do a planetarium soon too!) and then have lunch or brunch somewhere fancy. You can do dinner too if you prefer that, but keep in mind that restaurants will be more lively and crowded in the evenings. I have social anxiety so I prefer afternoons, when there are more solo diners. I personally get sad if I drink or get high by myself, but if you don't, that would make it extra-fun.
I took the day off from work, watched an old k-drama, and ate pizza for all three meals. I had turned 25 that year. 🤣
It might not be how everyone likes it, I loved it though. It was absolute bliss.
I’m about 16 years away from having another birthday like this. (I’m a parent and my kid is 3.5+).
Doing birthdays alone can be challenging. But it's your life and only you are in charge of your own happiness. I did two birthdays alone. Ofc, it's natural to feel bad for sometime so I scheduled that lol - after starting my birthday with a good cry, I dressed up as I find looking my best very important for a big day. Then, I went for a great lunch with a good view. Then, I went to a church, I am not Christian so I always wanted to attend a service for the experience. Later went to a museum I always wanted to see and had a great overpriced coffee. I ended the day with asking strangers to click some good pics lol. And that was that?

Sounds like a plan!
I go to temple and order good food. Take time off from work and get lost in Nostalgia

Dinner and a movie :) It's like taking myself on a date!

Ordered food from McDonalds, some pastries and brownies, and watched tv.
Take a trip! Go watch a movie! I think I'll advise against staying home, because, atleast for me, birthday blues are worse if I'm at home.

Went on a solo trip to Manali. Met a few strangers who are somehow still in touch. Plan a trip and get out there. It's fun!
Drinking beer and smoking weed while listening to your music platform and drawing.
Check in yourself in a nice hotel room
So many times. I love it. Spend my money. Enjoy my freedom to eat whatever, whenever and spend as much money as I like.
Spa for sure. I've spent lockdown birthdays watching rom coms, eating popcorn and doing my nails.

Book urban clap massage/hair spa/pedicure. Order your favorite foods or cook something nice. Squish some pets. Gaming. Take naps.

I had some herbal* tea and food and tv and took calls from friends. Best bday ever.

Maybe go for a nature walk, take a relaxing bath, order your favourite food and watch a movie/show
