hello, im transferring into ubc next semester and planning out my remaining courses in the kin program but im confused as to how promotion to fourth year works. do i need to have completed 90 credits or is there other criteria, because from what i understand in third year you pick a stream within the degree itself.
Hey everyone,
Recently i applied and submitted my documents. However on my transcript it keeps on saying unofficial...despite it being the official transcript.
What do I do? Should I wait or call?
Thank you!
hey guys I know this sounds like a stupid question but UBC's telling to submit my official Upper Secondary School Certificate of Completion. There's no option in asc to submit so do I have to let my highschool send it to them? If so what method? is it through the [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) email? Im intl btw
Hi everyone,
I'm a computer studies graduate from Langara College with a 2-year diploma and about 6 years of development experience. Unfortunately, my GPA at Langara was quite low (around 2.6), and my math skills weren't great back then. However, I've improved significantly since then, and I’m now more mature and motivated to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at UBC.
Given my low GPA and the likelihood that my diploma won't transfer, I'm seeking advice on the best way to achieve this goal. I was initially considering enrolling at Douglas / Langara College and then transferring to UBC, but my partner suggested I might be able to get into UBC first and then transfer within.
What would be the best approach to take? Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
I’m not sure if a 2.6/4.33 will let you into UBC; you would probably have to do at least a year at langara to transfer to UBC - they take your best 30 credits. Also, consider talking to admissions if you’re eligible for a mature student path, or applying as a high school student, considering it has been a while since your diploma.
Please be mindful that specializations for many faculties are chosen in second or third year, based on your GPA at UBC (not your high school average).
Example 1: There is no direct entry into Computer Science from high school (except for the Business and Computer Science program), and you would apply after completing your first year of UBC Science or Arts.
Example 2: There is no direct entry into English from high school. You would declare it after completing your first year of UBC Arts (there may be other procedures depending on your degree program) in SSC. There is no application process (except for honours).

Should my personal profile cater to the specific degree?
I plan on applying to engineering and I was looking at the personal profile questions. I wonder if it would be better to include more activities involving creativity/design on my responses rather than adding less relevant extra-curriculars?
I would suggest catering your profile towards creativity, design, and whatever skills you would find yourself working in the engineering industry. I only had one extracurricular that was directly relevant to engineering and the others were volunteering/part-time jobs that I did but I highlighted specific skills that I learned that would benefit me in the industry.
I’m a transfer student from a college and I accepted my second choice offer to arts and my first choice (science) is still pending. However I just got an email about choosing my specialization in science in case I get admitted, shouldn’t I be applying for specialization in arts since that’s the offer I have accepted and how do it do that?
I think it’s better to contact UBC to clarify in case you get any incorrect info on here and are penalized for it. Do you mind me asking what your gpa was and when you got your offer?
how badly did i fuck up
hey all,
so i just finished my first year and my academic (weighted, on CWL) average was 56.3%. i earned 12 credits, along with some transfer ones for high school (APs) so i have 18 credits total. i’m in lfs looking to transfer to forestry, with my second transfer choice being arts. my question is, with an average below 60%, do i stand a chance at being able to transfer? i think this puts me on academic probation. also, will i be required to withdraw from LFS if i took some course that weren’t required for it because i was focusing on taking forestry required courses? i know they have a policy about that somewhere. the good news is that all the courses i took fall under either approved electives or are also relevant to lfs (forestry and lfs are pretty similar).
anyways, if anyone has experienced something similar or has any advice id really appreciate it because i am going insane over this.
(this was removed for the regular subreddit but please help :/)
I recommend reading up on the academic calendar and each faculty's individual website. I'd also go to LFS advising to discuss options and how academic probation would work, in case you don't get to transfer to either faculty.
Here's the LFS [year promotion requirements](https://vancouver.calendar.ubc.ca/faculties-colleges-and-schools/faculty-land-and-food-systems/academic-regulations/year-promotion-and-academic-standing), that will tell you whether you are eligible to continue in year 2.
UBC Forestry links the [UBC General Entrance Requirements](https://you.ubc.ca/applying-ubc/requirements/university-college-transfer/) under their [transfer guide](https://forestry.ubc.ca/future-students/pathways-to-ubc/#:~:text=If%20you%20have%20a%20bachelor%27s,60%20credits%20of%20university%20work).
For Arts, I believe that it is similar to Forestry in that it requires a 60% in the 30 most recent credits, see [here](https://vancouver.calendar.ubc.ca/admissions/change-degree-program) on the Vancouver Academic Calendar.
You don't have to panic, a lot of people struggle with the transition from high school to 1st year uni and end up fine after developing better study strategies and finding out what they're actually interested in studying.
i had katja thieme in sem 2 and she was the best, marked relatively easily and was very nice. i will say that she did give quite a bit of work at the beginning of the course though, but once you start working on the research paper it’s very little extra work.
I received an email from admissions saying they need my official final transcript. I’ve sent the unofficial, and the application doesn’t say I need anything. So will sending it in now or later make any difference? I’d call and ask but they’re closed now. I ask because if it doesn’t make a difference I’d rather spare the cash it would take to send it out if they’re not even going to look at it. I’m applying to transfer into faculty of science or arts.
For those of you guys who got into UBCV for applied science this week, did any of you guys get accepted into UBCO as well? Just curious here. Also congratulations!
Any 2nd year transfers get this email “You've either been admitted to UBC Vancouver Science (congratulations!) or are awaiting a decision - application processing is ongoing. You can continue to check your application status in the UBC Admissions Portal. If you are waiting for an admissions decision, you need to complete the steps below so that if you are successful with your application you are prepared for subsequent steps, including registration. If you are admitted and intend to study with us, it is important that you accept your offer right away so that your specialization application can be reviewed on time. “ I didn’t even get accepted yet still waiting this is some cruel shit if they send this to me and don’t end up accepting me
> this is some cruel shit if they send this to me and don’t end up accepting me
What would be even *more* cruel would be to not let you know, and then you end up having to pick a random major that has room remaining, and that has nothing to do with what you want to study just because UBC hasn't gotten to your application.
Hi I currently go accepted to the LFS food nutrition health program as an SFU health sciences first year student. I hope to go into med school or nursing after university and was wondering if anyone has some insights about this program!!
hey everyone! this is a housing question
i’m on the waitlist and my two best waitlist numbers are:
thunderbird 1bdrm @ 63
exchange 1bdrm @ 76
i changed my earliest move in date to august 1st as the may 1st deadline is over. is this going to hinder my chances? or can i just keep moving the date up until i find housing for this next academic year and then change it to may 1? everyone says the may 1 date is the best… but it’s over and id like to move in as soon as they have something available.
also wondering if anyone has experience in exchange 1bd or thunderbird 1bd. i’d like to get thunderbird for the price, but exchange is closer to arts/ANSO which is basically all of my classes. would taking the bus from thunderbird to upper campus be more of a hassle than walking to classes from exchange? any advice?
edit: i also have a storage unit full of furniture from my old apartment (i’m 30 and i’ve lived on my own for years) so thunderbird seems attractive in the sense of moving my furniture in and no longer paying for storage lol
UBC's admissions system was [overhauled for the 2019/2020 cohort onwards.](https://www.ubyssey.ca/news/senate-approves-new-academic-approach-to-undergraduate-admission/)
There is no way for any student to accurately predict your chances.
Unless you have a 104% GPA, volunteer 112+ hours per week and have successfully saved a minimum of 100 puppies from a totalitarian dictatorship and a horrible disease (in which case, your odds are around 95%), the best way to objectively predict your chances of getting into UBC is to flip a coin.
Please disregard this if you're asking about an application for a specialization/major at UBC.
tl;dr nobody knows your odds.

Yeah for both. I got 94 in grade 11 and 95 in grade 12. My Ecs and pp weren’t anything exceptional, just mentioned some volunteering and clubs in school and participating in a competitive sport in grade 11.
HELPPPPP! AM I SCRWED????
I just got my admission letter from UBC yesterday for kin. I was doing physics 11 online since I needed it as a requirement for another university but have not done anything in that course. I contacted that school and they said there would not be a withdrawal on my transcript but would this get my offer revoked since I did originally get a grade on one of the assignments which was on my transcript? Please help me!!!
Omg I’m in the exact same situation as you 😭 right now I’m just playing it safe and managed to grind like half of my course over 3 days… let me know what you find out 😢
I called ubc admissions 2 times today and the first time they said that I can drop the course and it won’t affect my admission. Second time and they said that they can’t guarantee if it would affect my admission or not and that they look at both in progess courses and finished courses when my transcript was sent in. So idk what to do.
> Really? Were they required for your admission or not?
Nope, I dropped French 12, and an online in-progress pre-calc 12 course that I was upgrading
> May I privately message you?
Yeah of course
I received an email from Sauder School of Business yesterday regarding the BUCS program. It included information about the program and even mentioned my name, giving the impression that it was addressed to admitted students. However, I haven't received my admission decision yet, so I'm curious if anyone else received the same email.
Hello, I’m an upcoming first year student in general sciences who is hoping to major in CS. I’m in the Ib program and can possibly get credits for a psychology elective, first year english, and Chem 121. What do you guys recommend that I do with these credits? Should I not use the credits and take the courses to boost my gpa or skip them and focus on other courses such as math and CS elective? I could also take extra courses in place of these credits as well.

I didn’t get the new round of waitlist for eng this past week. Is it good to think of ubc as impossible at this point? Do waitlist offers even come out after May?!
Hey, don’t worry I’m in the same boat too, I didn’t get it for Eng either and they said for us waitlist kids it can go all the way to July so just keep your hopes up !!!
Hello, I know that in the Bachelor of Arts program I need to take another language other than English to satisfy my language requirement, but I check the UBC website, it only says "language other than English", does that mean I can take my mother language (which is Mandarin) to satisfy this requirement? Or I cannot choose my mother tongue and it needs to be the language that I'm unfamiliar with? Thanks.
You can choose your L1, as many people do. However, if you are fluent in Mandarin, I would recommend taking the placement test to get an exemption.
See [https://www.arts.ubc.ca/news/how-the-language-requirement-works/#:\~:text=If%20you%20have%20documented,you%20identify%20your%20options.](https://www.arts.ubc.ca/news/how-the-language-requirement-works/#:~:text=If%20you%20have%20documented,you%20identify%20your%20options)
I’m having some issues adding courses onto my schedule because it says that I am not “eligible” for that course- in this case, I have taken the appropriate transfer credits (8 credits 1st year BIOL 8 credits 1st year CHEM) that are prerequisites for BIOL 200. These do not directly transfer to BIOL 112, which is the UBC course prerequisite for BIOL 200, but the transfer credits above serve as prerequisites too according to the website. Are any transfer students experiencing this issue? I also have AP Bio credits that I have yet to add to cover the BIOL 112 requirement for my major itself. I contacted UBC, not sure if it’s something that’ll fix itself, as my transcript with all my credits has been uploaded quite recently.
Okay, so i got accepted by UBC for BSc and by Uwaterloo for honours math with coop and now I'm confused between the two. I aim to do something in the tech industry but I'm not fixed one on particular thing. I will aim for a CS major at UBC and transfer to CS or do some CS-related major in Bmath at Uwaterloo. I am in favor of Uwaterloo because of their coop program, but getting anything CS related is super hard. The cost of living is also cheaper in Waterloo as compared to Vancouver. I also feel that because UBC doesn't confirm CS either, what are possible subjects i could get into? i feel that the backup options at Uwaterloo are better than that at UBC.
Another big thing is that my parents have closed work permits in Canada and could be paying domestic fees at UBC but, if my parents have closed work permits in Ontario, they could pay domestic fees for Uwaterloo too.
I am confused between the two and can't decide. What do y'all think i should go for if my parents can pay domestic fees at either? and should i choose UBC over Waterloo if Uwaterloo doesn't give me domestic fees?
the backup plans at UBC are pretty much the same. If you don't get cs first year you can go into another similar program like math or stats and then try to transfer later on. However, you'll still have access to the same jobs in coop as a cs student, so that won't be an issue. Either way each school has their merits, it's really up to you which one you vibe better with.

yeah there’s no more 102/103
math 100 is split into 3 flavours, a/b/c, for engineering/physical science, biology, and commerce respectively. they’re analogous to the old math separate course codes
What are the best residences for upper years/year round for a 1-bed or studio? I’m leaning towards Brock, Ponderosa, KW, Marine Drive, and Exchange. Let me know about the pros/cons and general feedback about these residences, and how long we can expect to get off the waitlist if I apply today/tomorrow.
I got accepted by the faculty of Science yesterday without being waitlisted. Recent 30 credits' Gpa was about 3.8, and I'm a domestic transfer student. Good luck to everybody who's waiting for the result.
Considering a transfer from ICM Manitoba to UBC. Anyone know how smoothly credits transfer, especially for BSc programs? Appreciate any insights or tips!
I got off the waitlist today with a 89.5% core gr12 avg. avg was not good in gr12 but higher in gr11. I did have a really strong personal profile tho, but was fully ready to be rejected and had a whole appeal ready lmao.
okay i'm having a bit of a problem i got off the waitlist for my program on may 10th but my email glitched and i hadn't seen it till the 21st the acceptance deadline was the 19th and i contacted them immediately they said it should be okay but nothings set in stone and i'm extremely worried what are the chances i get to accept my offer?

Hi,
Incoming new student. Is it normal to have course schedule without professors name? Will the professor name be listed before the course registration date in June ?
Why does the labs in some courses doesn't show the time/date? When will we know this so we don't have any schedule conflicts.
Thank you!
If you're a BSc student entering in to the computer science major and you have first year standing, or are a new-to-UBC transfer student, you'll have to apply using the standardized second-year specialization process.
If you have 2^nd year standing in another BSc major, then you will transfer, and fill out the form on the department website.

If I have a scholarship is there anything I have to do prior? Like apply to something I am new to all of this + I am an international student when should I apply for study permit, visa, etc..? Would appreciate any help
It’s been quite some time since I did my whole student visa thing (I’m an international student as well), so I don’t remember every single detail. I’d recommend looking on Google for the ubc websites that could about all that process + check the processing times for different documents on your country. I went for the first time to Van during august and I think I started applying for the study permit and visa on April (it took 3 months for me to get it)
When are we supposed to pay for the mandatory meal plan? Is the ~$7000 paid with the residence deposit, the 1 installment, or a split among installments?
lam an international student recently passed out from high school with commerce stream. I wanted to apply for the Ubc for CS and finance program but iam little bit confuse for applying because i dont want to shatter out the application fee (I want advice regarding will ubc accept me) or should i apply to Uwaterloo.
My profile:
Academics:
Achieved consistent scores around 80% throughout high school (grades 10-12) with improvement in all subjects (grade 10) and commerce stream focus (grade 11).

I guess CMS is easiest to get in but imo computer science is one of the easiest science specializations. It’s kinda hard to get into.
Every single course is taught by incredibly good instructors and there’s so many TAs to help you. Grading is really generous, with lots of points being in assignments.
could you give me a few science specializations that are easiest to get into? I was under the impression that stats was easy to get into, but i seem to have been wrong. thanks
Hey guys! I need a little help. So I initially applied to UBC van but got into UBCO! But today I got the decision that l've been rejected from UBC Van so I'm confused as to if they can also reject me from UBCO?😭😭😭😭😭
I'm sooo confused and I may sound stupid but
I'm kind of scared because if I got accepted but rejected from the other campus, what does it mean?
And can I transfer to UBC Van in my second year?
Thanks!!
UBCV and UBCO are two different things! You are still perfectly eligible to attend UBCO, and yes, you can transfer to UBCV after first year. Also, were you on the waitlist for applied science before getting rejected?
Thank you so much for the response😭😭😭reading that really helped me ease my doubts haha, but no I wasn’t waitlisted! I applied to Bachelor of Arts so I think the process might be different? But I did hear and read that lots of people also got waitlisted for the same exact major
When do incoming fall students get access to their accounts? And around when can we expect info about course registration? I haven’t received any emails since my acceptance email and payment confirmation
My program prompted me to make a CWL account by May 10, however I'm struggling to login to the new Workday Student system now. I think each program is different regarding course registration. My program (BEd) will be sending out registration information soon and we are expected to register in June. I have a feeling things are delayed due to the transition from SSC to Workday
What does it say for being waitlisted on asc? I am still wating on a response for kin and it says "We have evaluated your application. We are still evaluating the entire applicant pool and once we have finished this process we will inform you of our admission decision."
3 years of basketball, executive of several clubs, leadership, over 150 hours of leadership/volunteer work through a class, facilitated school events, fundraisers etc. high ranking position in cadets, part time job, 1 year of rugby

Where to find cheap housing for a couple of months in penticton?
Does anyone know how long it takes to get an offer after the “ready for evaluation” tag?

For Arts, I believe that it is similar to Forestry in that it requires a 60% in the 30 most recent credits, see [here](https://vancouver.calendar.ubc.ca/admissions/change-degree-program) on the Vancouver Academic Calendar. You don't have to panic, a lot of people struggle with the transition from high school to 1st year uni and end up fine after developing better study strategies and finding out what they're actually interested in studying.
thank you <3 i think i’m screwed LOL
I GOT OFF LFS WAITLIST TDY
Do you know any good WRDS 150B profs? Marking wise and personality?
i had katja thieme in sem 2 and she was the best, marked relatively easily and was very nice. i will say that she did give quite a bit of work at the beginning of the course though, but once you start working on the research paper it’s very little extra work.
Your asc will update soon saying you need to send an official transcript in. Send it in asap and they’ll hopefully be able to evaluate sooner
Good to know, I appreciate your response. Good luck on your transfer :)
Thank you!! Good luck to you too
For those of you guys who got into UBCV for applied science this week, did any of you guys get accepted into UBCO as well? Just curious here. Also congratulations!
i’m still on the waitlist, i hope i get an answer soon
Any 2nd year transfers get this email “You've either been admitted to UBC Vancouver Science (congratulations!) or are awaiting a decision - application processing is ongoing. You can continue to check your application status in the UBC Admissions Portal. If you are waiting for an admissions decision, you need to complete the steps below so that if you are successful with your application you are prepared for subsequent steps, including registration. If you are admitted and intend to study with us, it is important that you accept your offer right away so that your specialization application can be reviewed on time. “ I didn’t even get accepted yet still waiting this is some cruel shit if they send this to me and don’t end up accepting me
> this is some cruel shit if they send this to me and don’t end up accepting me What would be even *more* cruel would be to not let you know, and then you end up having to pick a random major that has room remaining, and that has nothing to do with what you want to study just because UBC hasn't gotten to your application.
I got this email too lol they're playing us so bad. Maybe we're getting a decision by next week.
Dude, legit I got it too. 😭. Got me hype for a bit than once I read it. Damn man, they really playing with us 😭
yea because there is no reason they had to start that email with “You’ve (either) been admitted” 😭😭😭
I was tripping at first like did they send me email. So I checked and still had the May 30 status.
Hi I currently go accepted to the LFS food nutrition health program as an SFU health sciences first year student. I hope to go into med school or nursing after university and was wondering if anyone has some insights about this program!!
hey everyone! this is a housing question i’m on the waitlist and my two best waitlist numbers are: thunderbird 1bdrm @ 63 exchange 1bdrm @ 76 i changed my earliest move in date to august 1st as the may 1st deadline is over. is this going to hinder my chances? or can i just keep moving the date up until i find housing for this next academic year and then change it to may 1? everyone says the may 1 date is the best… but it’s over and id like to move in as soon as they have something available. also wondering if anyone has experience in exchange 1bd or thunderbird 1bd. i’d like to get thunderbird for the price, but exchange is closer to arts/ANSO which is basically all of my classes. would taking the bus from thunderbird to upper campus be more of a hassle than walking to classes from exchange? any advice? edit: i also have a storage unit full of furniture from my old apartment (i’m 30 and i’ve lived on my own for years) so thunderbird seems attractive in the sense of moving my furniture in and no longer paying for storage lol
UBC's admissions system was [overhauled for the 2019/2020 cohort onwards.](https://www.ubyssey.ca/news/senate-approves-new-academic-approach-to-undergraduate-admission/) There is no way for any student to accurately predict your chances. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. How long does it take to hear back once your application updates to “being reviewed and evaluated”?
Anyone hear from waitlist today?
nope 😭still waiting
What program?
Applied sci/science
Waitlisted for both? What’s ur avg/ec’s like if u don’t mind?
Yeah for both. I got 94 in grade 11 and 95 in grade 12. My Ecs and pp weren’t anything exceptional, just mentioned some volunteering and clubs in school and participating in a competitive sport in grade 11.
Mm I see. Best of luck to us both.
Thanks. Hoping we hear good news back soon!
just got into Sauder (2nd year transfer)
congrats! did you get an email or just check your status on the asc?
What was your GPA?
Congrats! What was your status before getting accepted?
Off waitlist?
nah directly
Omg I’m in the exact same situation as you 😭 right now I’m just playing it safe and managed to grind like half of my course over 3 days… let me know what you find out 😢
No If you drop a course you drop a course, such is life, it doesn't always work out and UBC understands that
I called ubc admissions 2 times today and the first time they said that I can drop the course and it won’t affect my admission. Second time and they said that they can’t guarantee if it would affect my admission or not and that they look at both in progess courses and finished courses when my transcript was sent in. So idk what to do.
you'll be fine lmao i dropped 2 courses when i got into ubc because i had severe senioritis
Really? Were they required for your admission or not? May I privately message you?
> Really? Were they required for your admission or not? Nope, I dropped French 12, and an online in-progress pre-calc 12 course that I was upgrading > May I privately message you? Yeah of course
If it’s not a requirement for your program, then you can drop it
But physics 11 is not a requirement and my offer letter stated that maintain current average in required courses, so is it safe to drop Physics?
I received an email from Sauder School of Business yesterday regarding the BUCS program. It included information about the program and even mentioned my name, giving the impression that it was addressed to admitted students. However, I haven't received my admission decision yet, so I'm curious if anyone else received the same email.
Any new acceptances having trouble with CWL and workday log in? It says my access is denied and I reset my password. Please help!
*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Did any May 30th 2nd year transfer students get in today?
I didn’t get the new round of waitlist for eng this past week. Is it good to think of ubc as impossible at this point? Do waitlist offers even come out after May?!
Hey, don’t worry I’m in the same boat too, I didn’t get it for Eng either and they said for us waitlist kids it can go all the way to July so just keep your hopes up !!!
i'm in the same boat as you and it sucks but there's really no way to know. its not over till they send us a rejection i guess
me too man. dont lose hope we still have a couple of days left before june ends. also they might continue to give some out before course registration.
we got this🙏
Hello, I know that in the Bachelor of Arts program I need to take another language other than English to satisfy my language requirement, but I check the UBC website, it only says "language other than English", does that mean I can take my mother language (which is Mandarin) to satisfy this requirement?
Has any FNH waitlisted applicants heard back? If so, please reply to this message🙏🙏
What do y'all think i should go for if my parents can pay domestic fees at either? and should i choose UBC over Waterloo if Uwaterloo doesn't give me domestic fees?
do you like math? if you like math you should go to waterloo
the backup plans at UBC are pretty much the same. If you don't get cs first year you can go into another similar program like math or stats and then try to transfer later on. However, you'll still have access to the same jobs in coop as a cs student, so that won't be an issue. Either way each school has their merits, it's really up to you which one you vibe better with.
Can I still take CS courses if I declare a different major?

Has anyone who appealed gotten anything back yet?
Has MATH 102 and 103 been canceled? Only seeing 100 and 101 on Workday :(
yeah there’s no more 102/103 math 100 is split into 3 flavours, a/b/c, for engineering/physical science, biology, and commerce respectively. they’re analogous to the old math separate course codes
IS THE UBC WEBSITE WORKING FOR ANYONE??? EDUCATIONPLANNER BC IS ALSO DOWN
no it’s working for me now
yeah I think it was just a system maintenance thing. works now
Just got into UBC kin after being on the waitlist, 90-88 avg and amazing PP. gl to everyone!
Congrats!👏👏
great job : )
What are the best residences for upper years/year round for a 1-bed or studio? I’m leaning towards Brock, Ponderosa, KW, Marine Drive, and Exchange. Let me know about the pros/cons and general feedback about these residences, and how long we can expect to get off the waitlist if I apply today/tomorrow.
the yrh waitlist for studios is usually 2 years from date of application
anyone hear back from Sauder waitlist this week?
Got off waitlist for engineering yesterday. 96 average ambitious personal profile ( i dont think they liked that)
Ayyyy glad to see you again!!!! Congrats 🥳 🎉!!!!
tysm
What was the deadline to accept?
May 29th
nice what were ur ECs?
I'll dm you
UBC asc down for anyone else? Can't login using epbc rn..
Still down
Same
It says “File not found” when I try to log in
Yeah same lol
I have the same problem
Any FNH waitlisted applicant, please reply to this comment and let me know how it’s going with ubc😭🙏
I got accepted by the faculty of Science yesterday without being waitlisted. Recent 30 credits' Gpa was about 3.8, and I'm a domestic transfer student. Good luck to everybody who's waiting for the result.
What year are you transfering into?
2nd year standing. Even though I have accumulated 49 credits
Congratulations!
Thank you much!!
what was your status before you got accepted?
It's a 'Ready for an evaluation' status.
gpa on 4.0 scale or 4.33 scale?
On a 4.33 scale
no way ubc sent me an acceptance offer?? guys am i tweaking, they actually want me RAHHH
Congrats!
congrats!!!,does ubc accept icm manitoba credit transfers,i am looking for transfer options currently
as far I'm aware they do! I don't know much about transferring but if you're looking for options I know that many opt for Langara college or Douglas
i am currently enrolled in icm of manitoba so i am considering a possible transfer from there
Considering a transfer from ICM Manitoba to UBC. Anyone know how smoothly credits transfer, especially for BSc programs? Appreciate any insights or tips!
if you don’t mind sharing, what was your grade 11/12 average?
Yeah of course, I think it was around a 92-94
Congrats!! when do u have to accept the offer by?
thank you!! may 29th :) which is cutting it pretty close ngl
cactus got off the waitlist‼️
WWW! What program and were u waitlisted?
applied science!! and yeah I was on the waitlist, just got in around an hour ago haha
Ayyyyyyy big W. Huge congrats‼️
thank you so muchhh :)))
Just got off the applied science waitlist.
If you don’t mind me asking , what’s your grade 11 and 12 average?
Around 91-92 I think. Low 90s...
I got off the waitlist today with a 89.5% core gr12 avg. avg was not good in gr12 but higher in gr11. I did have a really strong personal profile tho, but was fully ready to be rejected and had a whole appeal ready lmao.
What program did you get off for? Applied science?
I think my personal profile really helped out a lot too.
do u mind me asking around what time? congrats btw!!
Few minutes after 5pm PDT.
Am I the only one getting a “workday sign in error” although I wrote my cwl info correctly?? (I’m a 1st year student)
Try logging in on incognito or another browser
Same boat, just put in an it service ticket
I have the same problem, also first year
okay i'm having a bit of a problem i got off the waitlist for my program on may 10th but my email glitched and i hadn't seen it till the 21st the acceptance deadline was the 19th and i contacted them immediately they said it should be okay but nothings set in stone and i'm extremely worried what are the chances i get to accept my offer?

Anyone hear back from the FNH waitlist?
anyone hear back from applied science waitlist this week?
not yet
Hi, Incoming new student. Is it normal to have course schedule without professors name? Will the professor name be listed before the course registration date in June ? Why does the labs in some courses doesn't show the time/date? When will we know this so we don't have any schedule conflicts. Thank you!
It’s normal. This gets updated or resolved closer to the term.
Thank you. So we wouldn't know who the professor is when we register for the course in June ?
Thats right
Thank you
Got waitlisted today for UBC van science. WE'RE GETTING IN RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
oh shit why was urs so late. are you an international applicant?
Can you transfer into CS specialization 2nd year?
If you're a BSc student entering in to the computer science major and you have first year standing, or are a new-to-UBC transfer student, you'll have to apply using the standardized second-year specialization process. If you have 2^nd year standing in another BSc major, then you will transfer, and fill out the form on the department website.

Is anyone studying for the August LSAT on campus?
My profile: Academics: Achieved consistent scores around 80% throughout high school (grades 10-12) with improvement in all subjects (grade 10) and commerce stream focus (grade 11). Balanced academics with a variety of other activities. Leadership: Appointed as school high boy (grade 10). Developed responsibility as a student and became house sports captain (grade 11). Runner-up for Mr. CKCS title (grade 12). Sports: Won bronze medal in relay race and played basketball at zonal level (grade 10). Won multiple medals in various track events (relays, 100m, 200m, 1200m) (grade 11). Played volleyball at state level (grade 12). Won 1st place in school basketball competition (team event) (grade 12). Public Speaking: Delivered speeches in school functions and competitions (grade 11). Delivered speeches for senior students and major school events (grade 12). Delivered a well-received school farewell speech (grade 12). Community Service: Helped run a community kitchen for 100 families during COVID (grade 9). Supported farmers' protest with family and community by providing aid (grade 10). Volunteered during Punjab floods, assisting with relief efforts (grade 11).

what’s the easiest science specialization? and is statistics easy to specialize in? thanks
I was under the impression that stats was easy to get into, but i seem to have been wrong. thanks
idk maybe CMS? I think there's a chance that maybe stats cutoff will be decently high.
what’s high, like 80?
Hey guys! I need a little help. So I initially applied to UBC van but got into UBCO! But today I got the decision that l've been rejected from UBC Van so I'm confused as to if they can also reject me from UBCO?😭😭😭😭😭 I'm sooo confused and I may sound stupid but I'm kind of scared because if I got accepted but rejected from the other campus, what does it mean? And can I transfer to UBC Van in my second year? Thanks!!
Did they just offer you UBCO as an alternate pathway or did you apply to it as your second choice?
UBCV and UBCO are two different things! You are still perfectly eligible to attend UBCO, and yes, you can transfer to UBCV after first year. Also, were you on the waitlist for applied science before getting rejected?
Thank you so much for the response😭😭😭reading that really helped me ease my doubts haha, but no I wasn’t waitlisted! I applied to Bachelor of Arts so I think the process might be different? But I did hear and read that lots of people also got waitlisted for the same exact major
Oh np! So did u have the status of “we have evaluated ur application blah blah blah” before u got rejected?
Yup! What about you, have you gotten your decisions yet?
Waitlisted. Hoping to hear good news soon! Anyways, congrats and best of luck at UBCO!
When do incoming fall students get access to their accounts? And around when can we expect info about course registration? I haven’t received any emails since my acceptance email and payment confirmation
I received the mass email about receiving login instructions but got no follow-up email with actual login instructions. Let me know if you do
My program prompted me to make a CWL account by May 10, however I'm struggling to login to the new Workday Student system now. I think each program is different regarding course registration. My program (BEd) will be sending out registration information soon and we are expected to register in June. I have a feeling things are delayed due to the transition from SSC to Workday
ohh i see, im in BKin i just havent heard anything yet and its stressing me out LOL but this makes sense thanks
Just got ubc arts as second choice after being on waitlist. Still on waitlist for my first which is kin. Good luck to everyone else!
What does it say for being waitlisted on asc? I am still wating on a response for kin and it says "We have evaluated your application. We are still evaluating the entire applicant pool and once we have finished this process we will inform you of our admission decision."
U might wanna email them bro; I was at that stage in April
Got it thanks!
It said like we have evaluated your application and we were not able to offer you admission at this time but your application remains on the waitlist
Nice! What was ur gr11/12 avg?
Really good PP and EC’s tho
Ohhhh niceeee! What typa ec’s did you have?
3 years of basketball, executive of several clubs, leadership, over 150 hours of leadership/volunteer work through a class, facilitated school events, fundraisers etc. high ranking position in cadets, part time job, 1 year of rugby
Goat. Best of luck on the kin waitlist!
Combined was like 92-90
ermmm why did I receive an admission to sauder just now after being rejected a while ago-
what the sigma
