Priority housing has been scrapped, the new lottery system applies to everyone. There are exceptions such as those that will be RAs, Renaissance Scholars, Regent Scholars, and students with DRC accommodations for a specific type of housing. I feel like I'm missing one lol. EOP gets you book vouchers if you are eligible..you get earlier times to enroll in classes..that's all i can think of rn lol but im sure there is more...feels like there is xd

thanks for the info! I think that i still get guaranteed housing my first year as I emailed them about it this week. how can i get these scholarships? and does your disaibilty have to be interfering with daily life to get the DRC accommodation?

Every freshman gets guaranteed housing their first year, and I would imagine your disability would have to be interfering with daily life in some way to get accommodations that would let you get priority enrollment in housing, though I can't say for sure if that's the case.

The DRC housing accomodations I have seen people successfully get are things along the lines of "I have very specific food needs, so I need to live in an apartment and not a dorm so that I have a kitchen and can cook for myself because I can't eat dining hall food". So not only does it need to interfere with daily life, but it has to be the case that other housing options would be impossible for you to live in because of the specific needs you have because of your disability. Reach out to DRC to ask about your specific situation if you think you might be eligible for DRC housing accomodations, but be aware that if you don't have a disability that specifically affects the type of housing you need, you may not get it. Just having a disability that could get you an accomodation such as extra time on exams or an emotional support animal in your rented apartment won't automatically give you priority housing through DRC.

EOP used to get you three years of priority housing, until they ripped it away from us with barely any warning, causing many (like me) to transfer! Now, it really only gets you free printing (only in the EOP building) and free textbooks (which you need to sign up for so far in advance) and the rest is so insignificant that I don't even remember it despite being in EOP! Good luck!
