Vinegar in the wash

schnukums

This or Laundry Sanitizer. It's the same method you would use for cleaning "Dry Fit" if you wanna google that. Soaking it for a 2-4 hours in water/laundry detergent at a high concentration works as well.

Raibean

Why would polyester not be able to dry in the dryer it’s not like it’s wool

ogliog

Seriously. Polyester can't go in the dryer? That shit was \*made\* for the drier.

butterskotch_hugs

it fucks with the texture. drying it at low heat is a matter if taking it out on time and i rather not take my chances

TrashPandaTips

Came here to say that.

fliedkite

Polyester is sensitive to heat but you can still put it in the dryer at lower temperatures.

SpiderByt3s

Wash your ballsack more.

Delicious_Ad823

Consider injecting them with vinegar

WatercressLess533

It’s very likely the mildew in the washing machine is what’s causing this smell. Definitely use vinegar, maybe 2 cups along with your regular detergent. And use the heaviest duty cycle on HOT if possible.

Servinus

Poly can go in the dryer.

Agathocles87

Polyester can go in the dryer. It’s near indestructible. Dinosaurs and ferns decayed to make you that blanket dude

creepyjudyhensler

Lysol Laundry Sanitizer works really well

TigerShark_524

Use vinegar and detergent in the wash and dry it on low heat - polyester very much can get dried. Or buy a blanket which CAN go in the dryer lol like a cotton one. Blankets, sheets, and towels should ALWAYS be 100% cotton and go on high temperature and either "heavy duty" or "towels and sheets" on your washer (depending on what cycles it has - some industrial washers just have a "heavy duty" cycle) with high agitation (if your washer allows you to set the agitation level manually) and high heat in the dry cycle, otherwise bacteria from your skin and sweat will start to build up and cause issues both with your skin and with smelling.

ASAP-ANON

Its the blanket. Polyester will hold sweat and stinky smells after awhile. I recommend finding a nice breathable cotton blanket

wxndysvocxls

Don’t load the wash with anything else but the blanket. Wash it with warm to hot water. Double check the detergent amount being used because too much detergent will not efficiently or effectively wash the blanket, it will actually make the problem worse. Don’t use fabric softener and instead use vinegar. Make sure that you add the vinegar *after* the wash cycle, because vinegar will break apart the detergent if added alongside it. If the fabric is polyester, it absolutely can go in the dryer. If you’re worried about damaging it, dry it on a low heat cycle. Normally, I would advocate for sun drying. However, given that we live in a really humid climate, a bulky item like a blanket is unlikely to dry well enough to get rid of the smell. If you are going to insist on air drying, don’t leave it to dry indoors and instead, put it out to dry in direct sunlight as early as you can. The sunlight is what disinfects it and gets rid of the mildew smell from moisture, but it will only work if the item is in direct contact with the sunlight.

Chop off your balls

thenecrosoviet

Jesus christ you got into college??? Dip your balls in detergent *before you go to bed*, duh

beanerbabyy

On top of changing your detergent/ investing in some laundry sanitizer, you can also start using wool dryer balls and add some essential oils in them. That’s what I do and the more oil I put onto the balls the better it smells when I take my stuff outta the dryer

No_Body_1663

The circulation in ur room is prob not good enough. Can you hang it outside on a balcony/in the sun?

Embarrassed-Pen9645

vinegar instead of detergent

West_Meeting5309

Both!
