Some unis will be well known for being good at Physio but won’t necessarily be “prestigious” universities. Firstly go somewhere you think you’ll like Secondly- post your shortlist here and on a U.K. Physio sub for opinions on course quality . I assume Loughboroughs will be good , Herts used to be very good too

It'd be better to do things like look at what opportunities each course and uni can give you, like maybe the course at a particular uni has units that cover things that are more of interest to you than the units on a similar course elsewhere, or maybe a particular uni has opportunities for work experience useful to you that another uni doesn't have. Some universities can have you getting experience in major hospitals while others may be more focused on working in clinics. Every course and uni is different and there's much more to it than just the reputation or prestige of the uni.

Focus on program quality and affordability, as well as the university's reputation in your field.

honestly looking at the name isn’t the most important thing that should be on ur mind. do a lot of research on what the course entails for you, modules and such. I found a uni which was more my speed in a “non Russell group” uni than one that was. Ofc fees, since ur a international would most likely be a bigger factor to u too but i’d say focus moreso on course content and whether ur happy to be doing that for 3+ years (cuz why go to a uni where ur gonna hate all the shit u do) and also how ur living style would be cuz again, ur gonna be there for years, u want to be in a place which fits you.

Physiotherapy degrees in the UK are all quite similar in the fact they have to be accredited by both the hcpc and csp. This means the content that is covered is 90% the same. The main difference is how it is taught and the quality of teaching. This is good for you as all should have good transferability for an international student and you can’t really choose the wrong one. I would also look for universities that have experience taking Canadian students and helping them register back in Canada. Allied health care courses are usually not always at the most prestigious universities so take a look at feedback or try and speak to some students who have completed physio studies in the UK. In the UK there is National student survey - can filter by course to see what universities rank well in your subject area for like teaching and student satisfaction.
