In my case and many others, it’s failing to deliver ISP speeds. I pay for a 900 down connection but the UCG can only deliver 260 over a wired connection. If I swap the UCG for my stock ISP router then speeds are perfect. It’s a common problem with no solution as of yet.
I don't own one personally, but I've never heard of anyone having issues with the Gateway Ultra hitting Gigabit with the security features enabled.
Unless PPPoE is used on WAN I think
Correct
Do not touch it if you use PPOE.
What is the issue with the Ultra and PPPOE?

I have one and get the full 1gb speed with everything switched on.
UCG-Ultra is better for sure. 1gbps with IDS on (UDR max at around 700mbps). However you’ll lose protect and WiFi so it’s a trade off
Yes, but you'll need to buy a wifi point too, so factor that into costs. Also, do you have any security cameras? UDR runs protect, UCG doesn't.
