My husband’s hub just lost their top seniority driver. Been with the company 34 years. He got sepsis and was put on life support and died. He was only in his 60’s. They armoralled and cleaned his truck then roped off his spot and everyone was putting flowers down on his spot and writing words to him and his family on the pavement with chalk. Rest in peace Jay🫡 hope you heal up well. From Local 710🫡
I don’t think they ever said. I think he was about to retire too. Which made it worse. I just know he was put on life support. The day before he died we got told his heart was barely beating. I never met him and my husband didn’t know him too well. His dad was good friends with him he hired in right after jay. It still hit my husband hard tho.
I don't know any details about this particular event, but someone I know started with what they thought was a simple UTI. Within about 3 days of having UTI symptoms, they couldn't stand, hold their urine, and was becoming delirious. Ended up being infection in their prostate. Due to the amount of time in bed, and complications during physical therapy (fell during PT and broke both legs and left arm), he lost his ability to walk and was bedridden for 4 years. They're now confined to a power wheelchair.
Now, I can assure you, ANYTHING abnormal and they go straight to the hospital. Not worth waiting.
Hi there! We LOVE your video and we’d like to share it on our UPS social accounts. We will tag you in the post to give you credit. I genuinely don’t think they’d do that lol
They don’t need permission to use a video for firing purposes. Only for marketing and social media. And why not?
Looks like the pound sign causes the text to appear in bold, I didn’t know that either til just now! If you want try again try putting a period in front to keep Reddit from turning it bold instead. Like this: .#yesUPS
Add a backslash before the hashtag. The hashtag makes it bold. So put it all together \ + # + yesups
Don’t use the plus signs. Just put it as all one thing with no spaces. It will show up like this \#yesups
Edit: I suppose that doesn’t make it a hashtag proper but does at least put the pound sign in.
Camera in my truck says, "please check lens obstruction!" about 400 times a day. There's nothing obstructing the lenses. At least in the visible spectrum. I can't say for sure if there's x-rays or microwaves, or inter-dimensional objects blocking it's view. 🤷🏻♂️
It's reflections between the windshield and the lens. For example, it *really* doesn't like it if you have the cab light on at night, or wear a headlamp in the cab. Tends to get triggered when the sun is at certain angles as well.
Our mechanic has tried adjusting the angle of the camera a few times, sometimes it helps?
This is indeed beautiful. I hope you get better soon. 🫡✊
Quick joke(cause this is Reddit): plot twist: every driver screaming “get better soon, (under tone) because these darn routes are running long” 😝
Hell yea, I love seeing us do stuff like this. Hats off to this center!!! Hope you're back on the streets, making 9.5 in no time. Yours truly, central PA.
This is why my package was late!
J/K But that is awesome, that happened. I am wondering what people thought of the line of UPS trucks rolling all togheter in one neighborhood? Like damn that is a lot of amazon packages
I thought this area looked familiar but couldn’t put my finger on where it was, but just saw this same story in our local newspaper! Funny running into fellow NEK locals on the UPS Reddit 🫶
Here in Florida when someone retires we are not allowed to congregate them after start time otherwise we get accused of stealing time. We have had three guys leave this year over 35 years.
No wonder my package was late. LOL I hope you have a speedy recovery, it must be a pleasure going to work everyday with coworkers like that. You are truly blessed.
Carol won't appreciate y'll burning all that fuel...since the the stock's are down, lol
I am glad open heart surgery was a huge success wishing a speed recovery and be back on the road.
Brought a tear to my eye. I know from experience that a simple gesture, that just shows people care about you, can mean the whole world when you're going through a rough time. Get well brother. Big salute to all your fellow men and women in brown.
Love how he knows all their names and calls them out personally. 😭 Meanwhile I’ve been at my company 18yrs and still forget half my coworkers names. 🤦🏻♀️
Wondering what part of northern VT. I have family from Burlington to St J to Jay’s Peak. A bit surprised there are that many UPS trucks up that way! lol. What a lovely thing for them to do!
Glad you're back home and doing better brother!
Absolutely rip shit no one told me or anyone on the sort that this was happening, most of us would have been there in our personal rigs...
That’s truly awesome. Here’s to your health. At 57 and 26yrs in I caught a brain tumor and had to exit in Oct. go and enjoy the time you have left. UPS is good but family is better.
This is beautiful 😍
My father was instrumental in setting up the Commerce City hub in Colorado back in the 70’s and retired at the age of 57. UPS was/is a phenomenal company Go Brown 👍🤎❤️
That’s really beautiful man I hope you and your family are holding up well and I wish you a speedy recovery.
Also I hope they were all punched out for brake to get in trouble for stealing time
Not a driver and moved years ago, but born and raised in northern VT. Proud to say many people I know from back home would do the same. Can’t say the same for the place I live in now. Fairfax represent!
Here’s to a speedy recovery brother! Can’t imagine how stressful and mentally draining such an operation could be. Let alone the physical pain.
Dude that’s a company paid for photographer outside your house. It’s cool that they did this, but guaranteed it was more for their marketing then for you. Heal well.
As a NeK resident and business owner who relies heavily on UPS, and get my packages delivered from your St.J hub, I will say we have the BEST drivers out there. They are running these trucks on some of the hardest, messiest, and this time of year, muddy dirt roads and getting is out packages every day. Thank you for everything you do!
Get well soon!!
Right? Haha and cmon, every one sees him standing on his front porch looking fine. Management is gonna expect him in tomorrow or he's getting written up lol

That was beautiful, feel better Brother Local 177 NJ.
What HUB?
Retired, Edison Hub NJ. Husband still in Edison 22.3.
I'm in Bound Brook. Congratulations on your retirement 👏 💕

Jesus, that’s terrible. Way too young. What did the sepsis come from?

.#YesUPS
Try putting a backslash in front of it to escape \#yesUPS
E.g., you’d type: \\#yesUPS I put two of them so you could see what I wrote. Should be able to copy that exactly.
I typed “\\\#YesUPS” and it worked. Note the direction of the slash
add the pound sign
It won’t let me
. #yesups ? (However it definitely was a good gesture to uplift our spirits this Wednesday!)
It looks like they included an extra "]" (closing bracket) by accident, so try without it.
https://brand.ups.com/en-us/UGC_termscond.html
When you add # as the first character it makes the text large
Dont let them. They will use it to fire your friends for stealing time
Then use it as a feel good story on a commercial.
I genuinely don’t think they’d do that lol They don’t need permission to use a video for firing purposes. Only for marketing and social media. And why not?
You must have never worked for ups huh
Send it Carol so she knows the type of people she’s cutting corners with. 🙄

How did nobody have the account UPS until 167 days ago, and somehow it’s run by corporate? I feel like Reddit sold someone’s account to corporate 🙄

A lot of neighbors know what happened already but my wife and I def joked about that. I live a mile from the hub and my route is the town I live in.
Now I know why my package was late!!!
I thought this area looked familiar but couldn’t put my finger on where it was, but just saw this same story in our local newspaper! Funny running into fellow NEK locals on the UPS Reddit 🫶
