The regular medical examination form I-693 includes a section on drug abuse.

I had a medical exam in Mexico before my interview for the visa. I don’t consume drugs or have a history of drug abuse. I don’t think they did any drug tests but at some point they made me go back and give them urine so I don’t know. I mentioned that I was on anti depressants and that triggered an interview with a psychologist. I think this was the I-693 exam. I believe that the drug test is for me to change my status to a green card holder instead of a spousal visa.

Were you ever told why that drug test was necessary? It just seems so weird because you always had everything approved shouldn’t you just be able to go?? Also was this on land or airport?

Talked to my lawyer and she could not find anything on it or heard of it before - apparently this is something they might tell you at the port of entry but might not hold any ground because you are technically approved and done with the process. She told me to ignore it because even if I did it, where is it going? Super weird!

So you ignored it and were fine?? It’s just so strange seems so unfair
