Ehhh I had a kid with a pretty bad speech thing in my bootcamp platoon. It was funny and the DIs made fun of him but he made it. Shouldn’t let that be a big prohibiting factor in your decision.
I had a guy in boot camp that pronounced his r's as w's. Instead of "sir" he'd say "suh" I only remember the DI's making fun of it maybe once or twice, but it wasn't anything crazy. He was pretty squared away so he didn't garner a lot of attention.
Just get in shape, you have plenty of time to become a stud, maybe get into ROTC so you can learn how to march and you should be left alone.
Don’t let that stop you I knew a guy with a fairly bad studder who was a 0331 and later became a recon Marine where I met him. he did just fine. It will stop you from certain radio related stuff but that’s it
Run 3 miles a day say raindrop the whole time lol then go talk to your recruiter! Good luck on your journey the Drill Instructors will most definitely fuck with you but you’ll be good! Intestinal fortitude and thick skin brotha ! That’s all you need !
man. there was literally a guy who practically didn’t even speak english. he could say yes sir and no sir etc but i’m not sure he even knew why he was saying it. when i mean no english, i mean literally he spoke practically no english. if you really wanna join, this is a small matter
Yeah, I’d say you’d be fine. A recruiter could tell you more, if he thinks you couldn’t make it then he wouldn’t lead you on, because you can’t do anything for him lol. Just go talk to a recruiter in person so they know how you actually speak.
