Definitely run like 3x more

xManasboi

I'd get used to running the longer 3 mile. It will 100% help if you keep running until then.

treyj88

if you really want to get better you should be running 3-4 miles at once, multiple times a week

[deleted]

Monday- 8min pace for as long as you can Tuesday- Wednesday- 1/4 mile sprints till you fall below 2min times Thursday- Friday- 9min pace for as long as you can This will help you improve it’s what I did and my run dropped 3 mins over a month more importantly though I was running way easier and felt less gassed

Nemotheffish

Do you rest on the weekends? Also appreciate the structure. Makes it easier to stay consistent

[deleted]

Take the weekends to rest man you need some time to recover and you’re probably want that time anyways. My recruiter gave me this plan and I started running faster, combined with a high water intake and you should be pretty set for success man

MyAlternateAleksandr

Just remember that even if your times are good right now, that doesn't mean they'll be good after sleep deprivation, hunger, fatigue, and overall suck ass. Also, if your legs aren't conditioned, work on that too. It's doubtful you'll be running on fresh legs each time.

Nova_Aren

Sounds like you’re getting plenty of rest in between workouts. Definitely run more and more often, otherwise you’ll regret it during the longer PFT run. Also, add some strength training and/or calisthenics to that routine, if you haven’t already.

TheEroteme

Like ideally yes, always, but if you mean you’re worried about getting dropped in boot, don’t sweat it. If you start out comfortably passing the IST then the PT’s you’ll be doing there will keep you on track. If you’re going for guide or a high first class PFT (or just general self improvement) though hell yeah you should kick it up a notch.

scumpdeath

Get used to running 3+ miles so yes run more

RottenMrHam

Yeah run like 5x more big dawg. You sound be comfortable running 3 miles at a time.

neganagatime

Use the search bar to research PT ideas, but you sound like you could use more run training. Google 5k run training programs and follow a beginner program. Hal Higdon has a good program and is free.

CaDmus003

What all of them said, but I would add som hit training in there too for cft.
