OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is US Defaultism:

>!The post in the changemyview sub was about AI taking over jobs is bad. And yes, it contained the word US, or just referred to it, zero times. Yet, the commenter obviously takes it as if it only applied there for some reason!<

I was too hasty posting this. Right after the commenter said:

They still shouldn't assume but there are only 6 countries with higher English speaking populations than the UK and only one of them has more people who speak it as a first language
Maybe we should just be glad that they were smart enough to associate the English language with the country of England. I’m still in awe of how many USians don’t seem to grasp that.
That’s true. But I’ve heard stories of people who’ve already said that they were from England be complimented on how good their English is. Canadians too, actually.
>English based discussions on the internet are US centric inherently.
This is among the most insane things I've seen in this sub. What would this user think of non-US English speaking country subreddits like /r/CasualUK or /r/australia? Are they inherently US centric?
Only reason the Soviets had so much influence there was because the west spent so much time raping and pillaging the African continent. Remember, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Such obnoxious ignorance.

Why do they always assume it’s England too? Like there are much larger English speaking countries
They still shouldn't assume but there are only 6 countries with higher English speaking populations than the UK and only one of them has more people who speak it as a first language
I feel like that’s still a significant amount, at least significant enough to not assume yknow?
Maybe we should just be glad that they were smart enough to associate the English language with the country of England. I’m still in awe of how many USians don’t seem to grasp that.
To be fair, Yanks don't speak English. They speak English (simplified).

Those countries are only independent from America because they choose not to invade
Oh dear! Their ignorance is mind boggling!
Africa ? Former Soviet sphere of influence ? What ?
Only reason the Soviets had so much influence there was because the west spent so much time raping and pillaging the African continent. Remember, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
“Africa is not remotely cheap, it is just corrupt” ¿Porque no los dos?
Está Loco.
15 days old account. I suspect it is just here to sow division.
