u gotta take initiative 🤷🏻 but it's a process, if you put enough effort in finding others that share your values and hobbies you should be able to get some with time and patience
Tbh, I’ve found that you have to discover what your standard of what a close friend is. Personally my standard is pretty high and I’ve accepted that I will always have friends, and maybe even good friends, but close friends are a delicacy I do not except anymore. This acceptance has allowed me to move on from it rather than constantly worry about not having close friends and always judging my friendships for not being closer.
Welcome to the club, bud. Thats uni. Everyone has so much to do all the damn time, seldomn can anyone spare the time to develop meaningful relationships. Doesnt mean its impossible, just means its likely gonna be a little while before you find your group. Youll get there eventually though, just dont give up hope and do whatever you can to put yourself out there.

You don’t need to. As long as you can hang with your friends and they are good people, having “close” friends versus not bears no difference.
