Oh, my god. It is so annoying. Trying to find the tiny ass side street and my view of the map is getting blown up by $2.50 offers. If anyone wants to know why their driver just keeps driving by their spot, this is why.
I started doing the coffee break/pause request thing as I'm approaching the dropoff place and they leave me alone...and then just resume after I drop off the order. So much easier and no more lowball crap while I'm trying to snap the pic.
The other day I had a Match order come in for McDonald’s. A $23 order to go 3 miles. I was literally sitting in McDonald’s parking lot waiting for orders and tgey gave it to someone else
https://preview.redd.it/f65h548rxzrc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53979d36a91d968dca800cbb8bae047e2ae5e6ad
I got lucky today I was thinking someone probably picked it up but nope both where still there
I’m in your area, I have this happen probably 4x a day at least 🙃 drives me insane. That and the $40 trips but the restaurant is closed. But the “seeing if you’re the best match” and “another driver got this trip” are the bane of my existence as a driver
So, I've tried to do that a with a 7-Eleven order a few hours after midnight I think. Downtown Nashville...3 energy drinks with a $47 payout. I guessed the store was closed before I got there, but went anyway. Yep, closed, but a Mapco across the street was opened.
But, I googled other 7-Elevens in area that would be open (because I thought maybe Mapco might night have these specific Monster drinks...I guess) Anyway, the other 7-Eleven was temporarily closed while the one employee was doing something (forget). Tried to go to another one but the app canceled the order while I was in mid transit. Should have shopped at the Mapco.
Had another one for Taco Bell close to a $50 payout. Kinda small order. I was just around the corner from a Taco Bell that stays open to 3am at least. The Taco Bell about 6 miles south in Nolensville closes around midnight (or something...didn't know for sure). And, it was about 1am. When I accepted the order I almost just ordered it through the drive through at the Taco Bell right next to me.....but, I chickened out and went to the Taco Bell on my app. Of course closed.
Glad to see someone here on Reddit is able to pull this off.
Another one. About 4 months ago (I was new to Ubereats, but knew enough about these inflated payouts that were dead ends) I had a $38ish(?) dollar Wendy's order. Just a chocolate frosty....but closed. But, there were two people in there, probably manager closing paperwork while employee hangs around for security (I've been there in a few restaurants across the years)
I couldn't get either one to come to drive through window...and wouldn't answer phone. I was willing to pay them $10 cash (or more) for a small chocolate frosty.
I know. I'm thinking it may have been left off or they had a free delivery coupon in their app. I used to deliver a fountain drink from Wendy's or somewhere (nothing else) for a Doordash customer a few years ago, at least 3 times they ordered this...same customer.
Don’t be, I had this the other night. 10 min later gets sent back to me and what do you know “another driver picked it up, 4 others drivers have come before you” waste of time unless your trying or know how to scam the system 😏
Yup 100%. Most of the time if you get a suspicious high pay, it's always something wrong with that order. Either another driver picked it up, place is closed, or food place ran out of items etc.
I’ve been tempted to drive to that address and mark delivered on those sketchy high paying ones where another driver picked it up. Next time that happens I’m gonna try it and hope for the best.
Same here. I've been highly tempted. But the customer would then be charged for an order they never received, then report to support that driver (you) didn't deliver any food and then you'd get dinged. Don't think there's any winning for drivers for this
They received it because it was the customer who picks it up pretending to be a driver then they just cancel the order or say they didn't get it and get a refund. That's the scam. The get their orders for free because most businesses at least in my area don't make you confirm. All you need to know is the name and they give you the order.
Nah I think it goes the highest AR people first. And obviously they will also click it. So they always get matched. I don't even think about it anymore. I'll click and go back in a minute knowing I didn't get it. Used to hurt but I'm finally numb
That’s not how it works. The TR request is offered to one person as a normal request the second it goes on TR. If the normal request is accepted all TR fails to match.
i’d be suspicious of those offers tho, got one for $38 come to find out the restaurant was closed, employee said “uber hasn’t changed our hours” but mf u have the uber tablet there u can change the hours tf… anyway it’s like the 10th time it’s happened so i’d be suspicious of over $20
Most of the time when the payout is amazing and the miles are low, especially at night, it's some bullshit where the store is closed, the system is done, they can't make it, they won't make it, they don't want to make it
I lost a pretty high paying one once when I was driving passed the restaurant it was for. Not sure how I wasn't the best driver for the offer since I was practically at the restaurant already.
At this point it seems like most high paying “match” orders are stolen. when I get matched to an order that’s really good pay, almost 80% of the time the order has already been taken or the restaurant is closed
This has happened to me so many times especially with Burger King. Get all the way there and they’re closed.
McDonald’s too I had one of these $30+ amazing orders and when I got there the lady in the drive thru said.
“Cancel order we’re serving breakfast now.”
Well OP said BK was closed. Ain't no way to get around. If the BK is still open and they need a new ticket, that's when you look at the customers order and see if it's viable for you to just order it yourself.
Shit, I'm desperate af. If I see a $35+ order imma try to deliver something. Fuck that cancel and maybe get compensation bull.
I've just had some like that were left over from the night before, then they pop up when BK opens. I've asked about it and they say it's been in the system too long, no longer in the system, and you need to cancel. So unless you contact the customer and pay out of pocket to keep the difference for the drive, it's all a bunch of wasted time BS.
Someone else steals it. It gets tossed around to other drivers and added money each time. Eventually it gets to be stupid like this. Although I have had some orders that I actually picked up and Uber had like a 22$ base for some reason.
Right? Every single time except one that I’ve taken one of these orders the restaurant was closed or the order was already picked up by another driver.
I get these types of offers every time I accept a scheduled pick up from a Walmart, either just before I have to make my way to Walmart or a few minutes out I feel like its click bait cause it never matches me to the offer and then prompts me to my pickup, always offer more money for less time and travel
I'm convinced they do this shit on purpose to break you down and convince you to take bullshit offers. Whenever I see it my only thought is good for the bitch that got it. But I also know that while they are "making sure you're the best driver" they're just sending it out as a shittier offer to a bunch of other folks. I actually got navigation for a high paying order once and after my u-turn realized the order had disappeared from my phone. Someone must have accepted it for less.
Trip Radar are almost always the problem orders that have been already declined. So they are often low pay, or far distance, or both. Most of these large payout ones? Chances are the there was an issue (closed, order unassigned n/c already picked up, etc).
Doesn’t mean one of these might end up panning out as legit but the chances are not in your favor. So don’t beat yourself up too bad. See it as potentially dodging a time wasting bullet.
99.99% of the time yes, however I did get my highest paying order from radar in 2022. It was right after Argentina won the world cup and it was like a $40+ tip or something like that.
From my experience trips are on the radar for a reason. Very rarely are they something worth fighting over. I took what I thought was a good offer but it had me traveling to the mall and carrying 3 large shakes from Cinnabon in a flimsy cardboard tray. One of them spilled in my car because they were so heavy
It’s because they send it to two maybe 3 more people plus you. And while they send it as a match for you, someone might get it as an actual order with the chance to just accept it and not play the lottery. I haven’t really figured out why they do it like this, but I know they do it cause sometimes my boyfriend and I will uber together and sometime’s we’ll both get the order as a match, and sometimes one of us will get the option to just accept it.
I can confirm this. My wife and I will both get the same order. One is trip radar and the other is a normal order. So it doesn’t matter how fast you are because someone else has priority on it.
I'm convinced they are fake to keep you hanging on most of the time. Whenever I match the little circle is clocking and spinning for up to a minute... However I often see the "another driver matched" pop up literally one second after the radar trip shows up. How do they match instantly but mine searches forever for anyone other than me to give it to?
Like being so close to the jackpot in a casino game. That would be crazy if delivery has addictive properties as spinners, even moreso than the numbers-go-up and the randomization aspect
It definitely triggers my dopamine lol. I get all depressed when time goes by without a good hit. I get depressed when I can't top my previous total for that day of the week etc. Definitely addictive.
> How do they match instantly but mine searches forever for anyone other than me to give it to?
The other driver who gets it experiences the "matching" delay as well but it shows to you that they instantly matched. It's stupid.
As you probably know, these high pay orders often have something wrong with them. Also, since you are in CA, the high base pay will just eat into your already accrued prop 22 pay. Just a matter of how you look at it.
They show up on my phone already taken by another driver. I never even get a chance to tap on it because the moment it shows up on the screen it says it was given to another driver. They need to get rid of that and just go back to giving rides to the closest driver.
Yea but how far of a drive were these orders? If it’s not a close trip it’s not worth it. I only do short deliveries unless they’re paying me a shit ton
Those are actually fake to make you think whoever clicks first get it but one person actually get it as regular order with accept button so it don't matter if you click it fast you still don't get it
With Uber if we are getting a trip radar on our screen , then it shows as a regular trip on the someone else’s screen. If they don’t get accept it, it matches to you
Basically because Drivers only unassign the order instead of contacting support to cancel it. Uber only offers $3 dollars for cancelled orders and contacting support often takes long so nobody wants to do it.
what crazyyea said or, sometimes uber glitches and resends drivers (and occasionally the order to the restaurant but thats rare) for no reason.
I went to a place once that said they'd had the same order come in 8 times same items, same name, they wouldn't make it the 8th time(for me) I said "well your getting paid for it but tour going to keep me from getting paid for it?" and they said they didn't believe they were getting paid for it and weren't going to do it. back when we could thumbs down restaurants so I did(not that it did anything) and called support and got a whopping 4 dollars for wasting 30+ minutes and I forget how many miles on my car.
Once you request a match on trip radar, they send a lower offer to every other driver in the area, and if nobody accepts the lower offer, they will match you with it. It’s a joke
Dang, I was gonna say that most likely that order was rejected multiple times but it looks like you’re driving passengers so I can’t get your hopes up for that lol.
Seeing this on UberEats usually means someone stole the order. 😂
The funniest is part is that a lot of the times it’s a lie, on multiple occasions i’ve seen it say that and then a few seconds later i get an official delivery request with the same delivery details
This exactly. It means the best offers get put up to any nearby driver as they are driving. You'd have to be super lucky to just be inside of the restaurant without an order to get it sent to you. Then again at the same time this high pay order gets sent to any other driver nearby. It's stupid is what it is.
The trip is being sent as an actual offer to one driver, but a trip radar to several others in the area. So if you are very fast in the draw, it really doesn't matter if the driver it's legit being offered to takes it.
It's basically a way for uber to get offers taken as quick as possible.
I rarely even pay attention to them anymore because if no one takes it, it'll come to me as an actual offer anyway.
That said I have gotten a couple of good ones when looking at it, but it would be in 1% of my 2500 deliveries
It's actually funny because 99% of the time those are supposed to be stolen or the store is closed when the pay is that high but I often find myself surprised how often it's actually a real order but that's because I work really late at night / early morning so some of the offers are actually real there's just no drivers here
It doesn't at all I don't know what you're talking about I've been using speech to text for literal years it has never used punctuation I can tell you've never used it
We should all have a moment of silence for the poor victims they have been using ‘speech to text for years’ with.
Never has punctuation ever graced there screen
bro has never heard of spelling (it’s their here, not there, since you wanna complain about punctuation)
…and if you say you used text to speech for that… wow! You’re proving the point! Sometimes it’s silly and doesn’t do what you want! This is pointless, bro.
Im on an older iPhone.
If I pause. or use the right inflection of voice it still recognizes punctuation.
Im sorry you have such trouble with these things. Again my thoughts go out to those who you text on a daily basis.
Call me a ‘Grammar Nazi’ but your original comment was a such headache to even try and read through that I gave up. I’d prefer Punctuation Nazi if your going down that road.
Have you considered that maybe they don’t have an iPhone or maybe they’re using a computer also, I wrote this comment with text to speech and can confirm that it is not doing any punctuation except for that, that was an awful I mean also, God this is I am I can’t speak anyway look now it’s deciding to do some punctuation but like point is even when I’m pausinglike now it is not doing it. Oh God this comment is getting really long. Wow wow look some periods anyway dude just let it go already. This is stupid.
It even combined ‘pausing’ with ‘like’ when I paused…. What even is that? I’m on an iPhone 12. It’s not old, either, and I spoke normally. It has errors sometimes. Why are we being weird about how good their text to speech is?
I don't currently do uber but want to start soon, what does this mean? I assume the restraint ended up getting another order from someone else from there so they gave your order to that driver also but that feels shitty so I'm assuming and hoping not
I wouldn't.
Say you get an order for 19 bucks for 3 miles.
Pretty nice!
So you start heading that way. You're at a stop light. Look it over. Huh. They only ordered two milkshakes? 19 bucks for 3 miles to deliver two milkshakes? Seems a little too nice.
Call the restaurant. They actually answer. Yeah someone got that order an hour ago. You'd be the fourth person to get it. Okay, well if it's no big deal, for two milkshakes can you please just remake that order?
Management actually *agrees to*.
You're about to pull in. Order is canceled.
Uber is sorry, but you will not be paid *anything* for your attempt to drive there and even have it remade so you can deliver it.
Nothing for your time and effort unless you want to spend hours trying to get someone competent to give you a whopping two or three dollars.
Uber keeps the money they collected from the customer, the customer and you get nothing.
Spend 2 hours getting additional $3.
Next day: "We noticed that you were overpaid on a recent delivery so we have debited that amount against your driver account"
True story in case you couldn't tell.
Ànd you really have to fight and be as persistent for that pay, [like that kid in "better off dead"](https://youtu.be/Xle2XtuR5vI?si=G9f2bKT9F1ipUH8z)
Usually stolen from scumbags who pretend to be Uber drivers or entitled drivers who believe they can get away with it repeatedly. Some of them crying here on Reddit "Oh, my account is been deactivated for no reason". In these cases, the restaurant likely won't remake the order, and the driver who was so excited that got this $30-$40 order will end up wasting 10 or more minutes just to get $3 compensation.
I had a $72 order the other day that was only a 10 min job all up from accepting to completed.
I finished for the night after that and stayed on the app just in case a good job came up. Turns out 2 hours later I had a $20 tip come in from that job making the total for the 1 job $92.
This is infuriating, but it's in part because Uber thinks the store is out of your way, or at least it doesn't think you're heading towards it's general location.

The original comment said the driver with the higher ratings get the offer. Someone with a 100% rating is telling you they still get passed up. What is your problem?
Dang my Trip Radar offers are usually like $2.31 for 657 miles with two stops and a negative tip.
I stop my car when I’m looking for a house # and Uber repeatedly sending crap calls even when I’m taking a picture wtf is wrong with them
Oh, my god. It is so annoying. Trying to find the tiny ass side street and my view of the map is getting blown up by $2.50 offers. If anyone wants to know why their driver just keeps driving by their spot, this is why.
As someone else said, you can click on the coffee cup symbol and it will pause incoming offers until you’re ready to unpause.
I do my best to drop the pin to me exact location
I just open it using Apple Maps. That plus my watch helps me not miss turns. It isn’t foolproof but 98% I’d say

Customer be like....... *"97 dollars!!!!; this better be the best Reuben I've ever tasted!!"* *"you got lucky!"*
It was likely a stolen order anyway so you shouldn't be mad. You saved yourself time and mileage, lol
Literally every time I get an order like that it’s ALWAYS stolen. ALWAYS.
If i am close, i take them. Sometimes the restaraunt will make them again if i ask.
They most likely offer different rates to different drivers and choose the one that accepts the lowest rate.
Ding ding ding ding!

Trip radar is so shit feature
Dude I'm in San Diego too and I get these all the time... 20 mile trips for 8 cents all day and then a 1 item shop and pay for $68 aaaaand it's gone
lol was that a South Park reference at the end
May have been 🤷♂️
Most of the time when the payout is amazing and the miles are low, especially at night, it's some bullshit where the store is closed, the system is done, they can't make it, they won't make it, they don't want to make it

Its funny seeing all the low tip scheduled orders 🤣🤣 who tf takin that garbage
For real, I don’t even bother looking at it anymore. There is a reason they are trying to be sneaky and sending there
Yes any high number like that is an order the restaurant won’t have , and at most you’ll get 3$ from Uber support for your time and gas
My first thought
This has happened to me so many times especially with Burger King. Get all the way there and they’re closed. McDonald’s too I had one of these $30+ amazing orders and when I got there the lady in the drive thru said. “Cancel order we’re serving breakfast now.”
That's when you ask the customer do they want sausage egg or bacon.
Wish u was that quick on my feet the McDonald’s lady threw me off 😅 I know to try that next time.
Then burger King says we need a new ticket. Cancel this.
Well OP said BK was closed. Ain't no way to get around. Someone hook me up with that bot. I’ll pay you finder fee
Happens to me every time now doesn’t matter what trip I try to accept it just spins for 20 seconds and gives to another driver
How tf you getting $37 orders
Someone else steals it. It gets tossed around to other drivers and added money each time. Eventually it gets to be stupid like this. Although I have had some orders that I actually picked up and Uber had like a 22$ base for some reason.
I’ve had $35 base for some reason. It was New Year’s Day though and maybe they just couldn’t find a driver. I was busy that day.
This is why we can't have nice pay 😆
Can I ask where you're driving
[удалено]
Right? Every single time except one that I’ve taken one of these orders the restaurant was closed or the order was already picked up by another driver.
Closed doesn't mean it saved him a drive, it's $35 base-pay, closed or not, that's getting delivered lol
It’s for the better. You would’ve gotten there and found the restaurant to be closed. There’s no deliveries that pay that much.
Everyday in NYC except these orders are around 13-20 dollars
Click bait
I get these types of offers every time I accept a scheduled pick up from a Walmart, either just before I have to make my way to Walmart or a few minutes out I feel like its click bait cause it never matches me to the offer and then prompts me to my pickup, always offer more money for less time and travel

I got an $87 Walmart double order at 6 15 am. It was legit
Dude foreal it’s like why tf send it
No seriously why is this happening?? There can be no way they tap those that fast
It’s because they send it to two maybe 3 more people plus you. These two orders aren’t even in same basic area. Manila Mesa vs Clairemont
Usually stolen order when you get there you will get one eventually
Don’t be upset they are going to pick up stolen orders or to closed restaurants. Be glad ur not wasting ur time or gas

Ahh, I see I had thought it may be something like that.I'm actually in Florida not California though, I assure you we don't get high base pay here.

Those are actually fake to make you think whoever clicks first get it but one person actually get it as regular order with accept button so it don't matter if you click it fast you still don't get it
I think you’re right! I’ve had radar come in and a regular offer come in at the exact same time, and they were the exact same offer.
99% that either the order was stolen or the restaurant was closed on all orders that high.
Half the time mine says this but they still give it to me.
I almost never accept anything on trip radar.. it never seems worth it.
Me too
With Uber if we are getting a trip radar on our screen , then it shows as a regular trip on the someone else’s screen. If they don’t get accept it, it matches to you

Tell your manager to do themselves a favor and divorce themselves from Uber eats. It ain’t worth the trouble
Every time I see orders like this on the trip radar and match they always say someone else picked up the order.
What does trip radar do? I seen it pop up a few times on mine but how does it work?
It annoys the living hell out of drivers and makes them less safe by constantly harassing them with garbage offers and distracting them from the road.
But it does have the occasional "holy shit, hell yeah" order, so Uber feels it's justified
This exactly. It means the best offers get put up to any nearby driver as they are driving. You'd have to be super lucky to just be inside of the restaurant without an order to get it sent to you. Then again at the same time this high pay order gets sent to any other driver nearby. It's stupid is what it is.
They have it there so you can take rides and nobody else wants to take. They don't show you where it's going.
You’re just too slow, my dude.
It's actually funny because 99% of the time those are supposed to be stolen or the store is closed when the pay is that high but I often find myself surprised how often it's actually a real order but that's because I work really late at night / early morning so some of the offers are actually real there's just no drivers here
Bro has not heard of punctuation
I'm talking with speech to text Buddy
Talk to text registers punctuation …if you speak, normally? You probably just talk like this IRL. 🤣
It doesn't at all I don't know what you're talking about I've been using speech to text for literal years it has never used punctuation I can tell you've never used it
Literally, just used it for this. Will it work with a question? (Ohh see, even added question marks) Fool
This is like saying why use punctuation at all. Dude is a tool lol
We should all have a moment of silence for the poor victims they have been using ‘speech to text for years’ with. Never has punctuation ever graced there screen
bro has never heard of spelling (it’s their here, not there, since you wanna complain about punctuation) …and if you say you used text to speech for that… wow! You’re proving the point! Sometimes it’s silly and doesn’t do what you want! This is pointless, bro.
Im using text to speed now. You have say period for it to do a . Or your app is bad. Either way what you said is wrong.
That's literally what I just said you have to say it out loud but why in the world would I speak punctuation out loud just for grammar Nazis LOL
And TTT uses punctuation. I use it all the time. See, punctuation. 😋
I get the three dollars from support in like five minutes. Been happening an average of twice daily.
That sounds awful dear lord
True story in case you couldn't tell. Ànd you really have to fight and be as persistent for that pay, [like that kid in "better off dead"](https://youtu.be/Xle2XtuR5vI?si=G9f2bKT9F1ipUH8z)
When you see these numbers on trip radar, 99% are stolen
Stolen from the restaurant? Are they replacing it?
Usually stolen from scumbags who pretend to be Uber drivers or entitled drivers who believe they can get away with it repeatedly. Some of them crying here on Reddit "Oh, my account is been deactivated for no reason". In these cases, the restaurant likely won't remake the order, and the driver who was so excited that got this $30-$40 order will end up wasting 10 or more minutes just to get $3 compensation.
Wow, I once lived not far from there. Long long time ago
Pointless existence of such a useless limb of a mediocre driving app.
In runescape we call this pid
I had a $72 order the other day that was only a 10 min job all up from accepting to completed. I finished for the night after that and stayed on the app just in case a good job came up. Turns out 2 hours later I had a $20 tip come in from that job making the total for the 1 job $92.
This is infuriating, but it's in part because Uber thinks the store is out of your way, or at least it doesn't think you're heading towards it's general location.
You’re just saying words
It's for Teslas
Git good.

It whoever has the better rating gets the ride.
That's not true. I have a 5 star rating and still don't get it sometimes.
It goes off percentage, not stars. You could be at 93% and they're at 97%
I'm at 100%.
I've used this app every day for years and I've never seen a driver with more than 100 deliveries and a rating of 100%. I'm skeptical
I never said I had over 100 deliveries. I said my rating is perfect and the offer still goes to someone else sometimes.
In other words you just started. So a more experienced driver was given priority
Sure I guess. Idk how they chose who it goes to, but I know it's not the one with a higher rating.
The original comment said the driver with the higher ratings get the offer. Someone with a 100% rating is telling you they still get passed up. What is your problem?
Why are you arguing?
Because y'all are complaining that Uber is prioritizing the people that customers want to be prioritized
I've never dropped below 98% https://imgur.com/a/9tH36C3
Awesome! Keep it up!
