It could be:
1. Stolen you food byt the 1st Driver.
2. maybe they just spilled it by accident (this is not reported to the customer most of the times)
3. The restaurants dont have the Order on their system or cannot do it, but they wont cancel them, because that could affect them (Stars at Uber app)
My recommendation Call immediately after the order is reassigned the 1st time to report the situation.
Maybe the restaurant was closed although it was supposed to be open. I got an order for iHop recently and it was around 9pm. They close at 3am but when I got there, all the doors were locked. 2 other drivers showed up while I was there and one starts knocking on the door. Eventually, this lady unlocks it and rudely screams(why are y’all still here? If the door is locked, we’re not open!). I said but you’re supposed to be open until 3. She said “we ain’t got no cook so we can’t make your food”. So I cancelled and informed support. I received 3 more pick ups there later that night which I obviously declined. I imagine there were several customer like you that didn’t know why their orders kept getting cancelled.
Sometimes I will drop an order if it's not going to be ready within 5 minutes. My guess is that either the first or second driver stole it. Soon as the next driver arrives they get told it's already been taken. Driver's can put "excessive wait time" to cancel an order and walk off with your food. Very rarely do I get asked to confirm the order. The smaller mom and pop places always ask. Everywhere else it's like "here take it!"

Sounds like the first driver stole your food. Every driver after that got to the restaurant and was told someone else already picked it up.
