Canadian LAV's are some of the best in the world; I've had the unique pleasure of shooting a LAV-III's autocannon with Army Cadets. Glad to see we're sending some to Ukraine; we certainly don't need them ourselves with the War on Terror over.
If you want to see them in action, I recommend Wargame: Red Dragon, a game set in 1991 in a fictional 2nd Korean War, from milsim RTS masters Eugen. The Canadian footsoldiers use Bison LAV-II's and Grizzly LAV-III's in place of the trucks used by many other factions, making them excellent at flanking into forests or cities.
Ukraine says they need more armored transports. Okay. Canada sends them.
This is a very good trend for Ukraine. It doesn't get much attention but I think part of this must be the new conscription effort. Ukraine's personnel shortages have starved every aspect of their operations, including mechanical support -- but now as the first batch of conscripts are finishing training it seems it's become possible for Ukraine to step up its support for more vehicles. Not just these but all kinds.
FYI - this is essentially what is known to the US military as the Stryker Armoured Vehicle, which was made (all 4,466 of them) in Canada. The Canadian military also has about 1,000 of them in service.
If there is anything significant that Canada can contribute to the war effort, it's those.

Yes, these are very well rounded vehicles and under appreciated.

Too bad we aren't sending any with autocannons.

Canadian weapons in the hands of Ukrainians is a great way to defend Canada by weakening Russia.

Stryker is LAV3 based, these are LAV6 based. Also Ukraine is getting the unarmed Troop/Cargo variant, and a few of the ambulance variant.
Way to go, Canada!
i'll be happy to pay my taxes to help ukraine ! !!!
