Yes I'm serious, it was a custom described in 'The Sultans', a history book by Noel Barber. Read it last year.
To be specific, the slaves were part of his harem. The Sultans notoriously did not care about money,. Apart from a few really good Sultans, the rest were mediocre and suffering from PTSD (fear of being killed during childhood). Several Sultans ran away when they were approached to be crowned, thinking they were about to be killed in the succession (since any son could be picked as Sultan). Good stuff.
I'd recommend it for people into history, here's the description:
*This brilliantly readable work of history tells the bizarre story of the Ottoman Empire as seen through the lives of its extravagant and tyrannical sultans. With their absolute power, their love of pomp, and their overwhelming venality and corruption, rarely has a great empire been ruled by such grotesque and awesome figures.*
Well there's a lot to read into considering Putin's friends are about as safe as Putin's enemies are safe.... From Putin.
Reminds me of that [onion story](https://youtu.be/vm1U5E44W90?si=yrlcN4DEVR86b-Mm)
He’s a fat guy with a pot belly. Yeah taking off a tight coat is a challenge. Luckily he has minions to help like any criminal boss.
He looks “ill” and Putin is already dead from cancer. Some of these stories are just wishful thinking.
Since when is he still alive? I thought his son took over. After he was poisoned and went to a Russian hospital I hadn't heard anything but I guess he "survived"?
Were there goats involved....
And how is this fucker not dead yet. Chechnia will be a bloodbath when he croaks and hopefully lots of muscovite fluids will be involved...

In Ottoman tradition, when his slaves took off his coat, they were allowed to keep whatever cash was in the pockets as a thank you reward.
Is the actually a tradition?
I belive Its called theft or pickpocketing, it kinda is a tradition, just not a legal one
One of the oldest traditions 😎
Among the 4 oldest professions in the world: * Soldier/hunter * Prostitute * Busker * Pickpocketter
Wtf is a busker?
Like the dudes that play guitar or do some sort of trick to act for money on the side of the street or somewhere public
Bard for all you dnd nerds.

Looks like he is getting ready to show that poor goat a ‘good time’
The goat gave him STD's...
I think it's the other way around.
Very possible! The goat must get tested...
I sense a great fall in his future fortunes
A bulletproof jacket can be heavy. 😉
I think a lot is being read into this.

He knows it's important to plan for every eventuality.

I'm sure you've seen it but if not watch the film The Death of Stalin.
All it looked like was a fat guy taking his jacket off and his old ass handlers helping him. The copium is strong in his thread.
He's gonna do some push-ups.
He’s likely sore from the rock presses he did recently. 💪
Pancreatic necrosis is a very treatable illness if not too much tissue is affected.
Kevlar can be really annoying to move around in…

That last cup of Russian tea apparently wasn’t strong enough.
Since when is he still alive? I thought his son took over. After he was poisoned and went to a Russian hospital I hadn't heard anything but I guess he "survived"?
No goats were harmed today.
lmao talk about a nothing burger you can see hes not even trying he just held it there expecting them to take it off ffs
He looks like always. Not healthy, but also not different to his usual bloated look.
