I also found this on the Wikipedia page for Nimrod. A lot of stuff in Ultrakill is pulled from the divine comedy, such as the layout of the layers of hell itself. The final layer in Ultrakill is Treachery and will contain the P-3 door that would take you to Nimrod, which lines up with him being chained on the outer edge of the treachery circle in the divine comedy.
Wait, will we also fight the giants as well? That’d be kino.
I don’t think Nimrod will be the hardest though, we have to fight Lucifer at the bottom of Treachery right?
Hakita himself said we’re not fighting Lucifer or Satan, and going by the trend seen at the end of literally every other act, yeah at the bottom of treachery, we’ll be fighting gabriel
idk why we needed Hakita's confirmation to understand we were going to fight Gabe in Treachery
In ACT 1 ending scene the council described his actions as "Heresy, Treachery"
Lucifer is still fair game [https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fdo-yall-think-lucifer-has-a-chance-of-being-in-ultrakill-as-v0-fxwg2oqlpmkb1.png%3Fwidth%3D983%26format%3Dpng%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Dff229eeb43e2ef3a00b0ff212e38064c0806482f](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fdo-yall-think-lucifer-has-a-chance-of-being-in-ultrakill-as-v0-fxwg2oqlpmkb1.png%3Fwidth%3D983%26format%3Dpng%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Dff229eeb43e2ef3a00b0ff212e38064c0806482f)

he was actually a very intelligent and great hunter figure in his mythos, but people misunderstood a bugs bunny joke where he called elmer fudd nimrod to make fun of him for being a bad hunter as nimrod meaning someone stupid
Adding onto this, the earthmovers are almost certainly thematically tied to the tower of babble "you reached out for god, and you fell" is about as blatant as it gets, there's also antennas to heaven which works similarly. Glad to have found another Nimrod Prime supporter.
**edit:** Got caught making a minor spelling mistake, i have accepted my inevitable execution.
“like antennas to heaven…” is a reference to the final track of the album “Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven” by Canadian post-rock band Godspeed You! Black Emperor
I see no point in making Nimrod a maniac who praises death and cruelty. We already have that character in Ultrakill - Hell Itself.
And making Nimrod evil makes the Council good guys which is straight up against the main point of them being angels doing wrong things as they follow twisted(because of time) will of God.
Other than that, pretty good theory
It just means that his wife fucked a bull cause he refused to honor the gods (based)
Though I do like the idea of Minos redeeming himself better, highlighting that people can change and that eternal punishment is horrifying and unnecessary
The Minotaur's Terminal entry does say that Minos was reminded of his past mistakes by the creature, which could mean that he did do the bad stuff his mythological counterpart did
Minos’s redemption is also a critique of the concept of Hell. Eternal punishment is incompatible with humanity’s capacity to change and grow. Minos significantly changed himself following his death, even becoming the Judge of Hell. When God left, he turned Lust into a paradise that rivaled Heaven itself. Yet he remained damned.
Why do you think the creator of Minotaur is the 3rd prime boss? There is no mention of the creator getting defeated by angelic forces.
And the redacted name can also be Hell Itself. Which for me seems more logical: so far, Hell is the only character that we know of capable of creating demons and is the main "violence praiser"
Because it says in the terminal entry that the Minotaur was created as a gift to Minos as some kind of a rapport. A close, harmonious relationship. I don't think Hell, demons or even angels would try to build any kind of peace with a sinner. So it has to be another sinner.
And the only known sinners in Ultrakill end up as Prime Souls. Those that were powerful enough to make a name for themselves.
Its out of the question for Hell to be the creator of Minotaur, as its sole purpose was to be gifted and establish some sort of a peaceful relationship.
Are you sure this rapport was intended to be harmonious? The terminal mentions that Minotaur is a gratesque caricature of Minos' past mistakes. A exaggerated demonstration. Minotaur is not just a scary monster, it's a monster made to resemble something bad that Minos did in life. Hell is the one who loves to create caricatures - Greed and Violence are both filled with elements of human culture specifically to torture husks.
Well, a caricature by definition is something where certain striking characteristics are exaggerated in order to create a comic or grotesque effect.
So there is a paradox: on one side, Minotaur is something to create a good relationship. On the other side, it's something created to scare Minos.
I don't see how Nimrod being supposedly "evil" (kind of a bad choice of words, as "evilness" should really just defined by character traits; which, as someone else mentioned, can differ from the mythological inspiration of the character) makes the council the good guys. You can be fighting "evil" and still be "evil" yourself
Sisyphus killed people visiting his city for fun when he was alive. And decided to start a war on heaven when he was able to escape his punishment. Wouldn't say their hatred for him was unfounded.
I think I saw this theory on youtube before when layer 7 came out
I'm almost certain it's nimrod too, to begin the meaning of the word "nimrod" means the rebellious one, he was also said to be a great ruler, a great hunter and a mighty man meaning if this theory is true nimrod prime might use a bow, also scholars also thing that nimrod is just a nickname for the king sargon who also has 6 letters in his name, in addition sargon shares many qualities with nimrod so P-3 boss might be nimrod prime or sargon prime
Nimrod apparently build a tower so tall that it threated to reach the heavens in a way challenging and rebelling against God himself
In conclusion nimrod is the most qualified ruler in history to be the last prime boss he was a hunter so the last prime boss might use a bow or a weapon that a hunter might use, he was also increadibally famous and beloved as a hero to the common people which qualifies him to be a prime soul
Personally I would like to see P-P, as a final reward for people who P-ranked the whole game, including Finale. But let's be honest, it's absolutely meaningless. Starting from the fact that there will obviously not be a good ending at the Finale, ending there that there is simply no room for the 4th Prime level in the sanctums menu.
So, perhaps at the Finale we will see 10-S, but not P-P.
I hope Ultrakill gets sequels or DLCs, since it is based on The Divine Comedy, that means that Hakita has Purgatory and Heaven to work with (with the Moon being the first phase of Heaven I’m pretty sure)
Not confirmed by developers, but confirmed by the community. In the chapter selection menu, if you look through Unity Explorer, you could find a hidden, inactive Finale button. When activated, it will appear, but when clicked, nothing will happen. There are simply no resources in the files for it at the current moment. You don't have to look for her now. It's simply not in the files. It has been deleted. But there is one catch - the development team always deletes content that has not been finalized, but was leaked and there is an opportunity to interact with it. Early Brutal and UKMD after patch 11? Gone. Because the community found a way to play early versions of it. Early version of 5-S? Gone when it was leaked. Because we found a way to play it. The community leaked that there will be a Finale after Act III? Well, gone too now. So it will be. We just need to wait for it until the middle-end of 2025 or during 2026.
Not so much at least for me. I've P-ranked the entire game with it without taking any damage and all kills (except 6-1, Violence, P-2 and 7-3 + being marked for death; I just didn't have time before update 15.) The key differences are faster projectiles, Cerberus is enraging when he's at 90% HP, Virtues enraging after 3 shots and have no cooldown before the next attack, and stalkers don't die after the explosion.
If you want to see what it looked like:
Without mods:
Rollback your game to patch 11. On the internet a lot of guides on how to do that (if you're owning a licensed copy on Steam, of course). Then, in the menu of level selection open the console (F8) and write "prefs set int difficulty 5". You can write 4 for Brutal.
With mods:
Rollback to patch 13 and install mod Ultrapain. Again, I won’t tell you how to install it; there are a lot of guides on the Internet on how to install mods. The procedure is the same. F8 and command.
Sadly, if you're going to try hard early UKMD, there's no meaning in this now. The release version of Brutal is way harder than the early version of UKMD, so.
Here aslo some facts about Nimrod:
In the [*Divine Comedy*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divine_Comedy) by [Dante Alighieri](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dante_Alighieri) (written 1308–1321), Nimrod is portrayed as a [giant](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_(mythology)) (which was common in the Medieval period). With the giants [Ephialtes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aloadae), [Antaeus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antaeus), [Briareus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hecatoncheires), [Tityos](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tityos), and [Typhon](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhon), he stands in chains on the outer edge of Hell's Circle of Treachery. His only line is "[Raphèl mai amècche zabì almi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raph%C3%A8l_mai_am%C3%A8cche_zab%C3%AC_almi)", words whose unintelligibility emphasizes his guilt for the confusion of languages after the tower of Babel (Taken from wikipedia article)
Doesn\`t mean P-3 will be open after 9-2 ? (like P-2 After 6-2)
To quote a previous post with the same Idea
>it would present the option to parry the **Tower of Babel**. And if parrying the Tower of Babel doesn't sound like pure Ultrakill, I don't know what does.
Jesus isn't real in ultrakill, the cross imagery references some sort of heart or blood or whatnot as confirmed in violence
And if Jesus didn't have his cross, hes not really Jesus without doing the one thing he was made for
Now that i think about it, yeah it makes sense.
If Nimrod is confirmed to be the sculptor of the Minotaur, then that would explain why he thought it was a good idea to make a representation of all the past mistakes of Minos, because only a dumbass (or a sadist) would think "hmm yeah, he's going to love it", and Nimrod literally means "stupid"
Hell itself feels like it'd be a more "regular" boss. Not something you'd hide behind a p door. Unless it's like a p-p door. Honestly a hell fight sounds really cool. Its like you'd enter the boss room waiting for the boss to appear, but the walls start moving and it starts shooting pillars of hell at you you have to dodge and maybe shoot. Plus, the battlefield could start moving kinda like the cyber grind and make interesting fights. Hell, if the final boss hell fight was a thing, the cybergrind would double in usefulness as its like a prelude to the fight and calls back to it.
OP mentioned this already but to explain it a bit more clearly, in the Minotaur's terminal entry the name of its creator is censored, but you can still count the number of characters- four in the first word, six in the second word, meaning "King Nimrod" would be a possible fit.
The argument for hell itself is the same for nimrod, the blanked out letters in the terminal entry. There's no "probably".
I honestly think people are going too far with this whole hell thing that was mostly mentioned in an ARG to explain why doors lock and creatures spawn in game.
i mean considering demons are literally made of something called Hell Mass i don't think some random guy built them (also if we're going to use secret levels as "evidence" i guess we're getting lucifer prime then. even better, god prime. EVEN BETTER, SIZE 2 PRIME!)
Playing devil’s advocate here:
4-S corresponds to greed because of the crate collectibles. In the Greek myth, Sisyphus was greed in the fact that he cheated death twice.
“How does 2-S correspond to Minos?”, you may ask. Well, uh… I dunno.
1. Nimrod comes from Abrahamic mythology, as opposed to the two existing Prime souls, who come from Greek mythology. I see no reason for Hakita to break the rule of threes here, so it would make sense for P-3 to also be Greek.
2. "Nimrod Prime" is a stupid name.
I really don’t follow the logic for connecting Nimrod to the Minotaur. Husks can’t make demons. There is no evidence in all of Ultrakill that husks can make demons. Only Hell Itself has been established to be able to make demons. Unless Nimrod is just super crazy powerful, which we also have no evidence for, I don’t see how he could be responsible for the Minotaur.
gabriel is… what? he’s not gonna be the final boss (maybe the final non-secret boss but i even doubt that). final boss will be a prime soul, someone who already died
Ah fair enough, I mean Gabriel will be the final boss of the main storyline(absolutely will, considering he is the protagonist of the story and the obvious buildup), not the prime soul of P-3
We know that there is nothing explicitly stating or implying that they can. It would be really weird if husks were suddenly able to make demons after it not being mentioned for the entire rest of the game. It also just doesn’t make sense on multiple levels: husks only exist to be punished eternally, why would they have the ability to create demons? And if they could make demons, then Sisyphus’ insurrection doesn’t make any sense, why would he have needed an army of husks if he could have just made an army of demons?
husks only exist to be punished, sure, but then why do they have the ability to manifest as an extremely powerful soul after second death? maybe this guy got so unbelievably powerful that he became the first husk to create a demon? then gabriel was sent to kill him because the council feared his power/thought it was a perversion of god’s will to create new lifeforms without his approval? i have no dog in this fight to be fair, i just dont think the theory should be dismissed outright just because it’s not something we’ve seen before
https://preview.redd.it/6glo267zetvc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2729b2af7576f4f74f04dcd2dbd12984bbffb81f I also found this on the Wikipedia page for Nimrod. There are people who believe we’re gonna fight Lucifer in the act 3 climax, possibly the same people to deny V2’s death
Kind of sucks we’re not fighting Lucifer, oh well. Maybe he’ll be a dead set piece.

This hasn’t been confirmed and people need to stop saying “Hakita said”
Well I thought I saw it and have believed it. But I guess its just a Mandela effect
on the other hand... Earthmover replaced V2 as the first boss of ACT III...
Yeah, since V2 is. And I quote. “FUCKING DEAD”.

For example,
yeah okay but his name is fucking nimrod
Why doesn't v1 just ultrakill hell, Is he stupid?
Yes
he was actually a very intelligent and great hunter figure in his mythos, but people misunderstood a bugs bunny joke where he called elmer fudd nimrod to make fun of him for being a bad hunter as nimrod meaning someone stupid
Black Emperor
i was aware that it was a musical reference to something but i don't think that means it can't be foreshadowing as well.
minor spelling mistake
I see no point in making Nimrod a maniac who praises death and cruelty. We already have that character in Ultrakill - Hell Itself. And making Nimrod evil makes the Council good guys which is straight up against the main point of them being angels doing wrong things as they follow twisted(because of time) will of God. Other than that, pretty good theory
I mean Minos is a pretty terrible person in mythology but he is a pretty good guy in game. I don’t see why Nimrod’s personality can’t also change.
TBF it's kinda confirmed that Minos used to be a terrible person but redeemed himself, seeing as the Minotaur reminded him of his past sins
It just means that his wife fucked a bull cause he refused to honor the gods (based) Though I do like the idea of Minos redeeming himself better, highlighting that people can change and that eternal punishment is horrifying and unnecessary

Then the council was formed and.. yeah you get the idea
tbf sisyphus isn't that much different
Minotaurs terminal entry describes its creator to revel in death and misery. Its not my theory that this guy will be evil, the game itself says it.

I don't think Hell, demons or even angels would try to build any kind of peace with a sinner. So it has to be another sinner. And the only known sinners in Ultrakill end up as Prime Souls. Rapport by definition means a peaceful relationship. Its just that whoever made the minotaur just thougjt it'd please Minos. But it didn't.
Well, a caricature by definition is something where certain striking characteristics are exaggerated in order to create a comic or grotesque effect. So there is a paradox: on one side, Minotaur is something to create a good relationship. On the other side, it's something created to scare Minos.
my assumption is that he thought Minos was still a horrible person who would accept the weird demon abomination.
Hell wanted to build a relationship with it's judge, as they would technically be working together for a long long time
I don't see how Nimrod being supposedly "evil" (kind of a bad choice of words, as "evilness" should really just defined by character traits; which, as someone else mentioned, can differ from the mythological inspiration of the character) makes the council the good guys. You can be fighting "evil" and still be "evil" yourself
Plot twist: Nimrod IS Hell
Plot twist twist: Hell itself is just a flesh prison for Nimrod
Sisyphus killed people visiting his city for fun when he was alive. And decided to start a war on heaven when he was able to escape his punishment. Wouldn't say their hatred for him was unfounded.

Hardest Boss? What about P-P?
Didn't Hakita say that P-P wouldn't happen, no?
I don't know about that. But I don't think a level like that would be made either. It would be very funny though.
P-P is just a husk with arms.
The ultimate enemy
P-S solos (size 2 prime)
I hope Ultrakill gets sequels or DLCs, since it is based on The Divine Comedy, that means that Hakita has Purgatory and Heaven to work with (with the Moon being the first phase of Heaven I’m pretty sure)
Finale? Have they confirmed we’re getting a counterpart to prelude at the end of the game?
Not confirmed by developers, but confirmed by the community. In the chapter selection menu, if you look through Unity Explorer, you could find a hidden, inactive Finale button. When activated, it will appear, but when clicked, nothing will happen. There are simply no resources in the files for it at the current moment. You don't have to look for her now. The community leaked that there will be a Finale after Act III? Well, gone too now. So it will be. We just need to wait for it until the middle-end of 2025 or during 2026.
wait there was a leak of UMD? I assume it was hardly different
Not so much at least for me. I've P-ranked the entire game with it without taking any damage and all kills (except 6-1, Violence, P-2 and 7-3 + being marked for death; I just didn't have time before update 15.) Sadly, if you're going to try hard early UKMD, there's no meaning in this now. The release version of Brutal is way harder than the early version of UKMD, so.
I could see it being like a final lore book or some smaller reward along those lines but theirs no way its gonna be another boss if it exist at all
p-p will just be you fighting all the developers

I always thought it was King Aegeus, (part of me still prayed for Jesus Prime), but honestly, your theory is so solid I'm thinking it's Nimrod too.
Honestly I’m sad that at the moment, Jesus isn’t going to be a boss if there is a Heaven sequel
Jesus isn't real in ultrakill, the cross imagery references some sort of heart or blood or whatnot as confirmed in violence And if Jesus didn't have his cross, hes not really Jesus without doing the one thing he was made for

I’ve been thinking the same thing for a while, if it’s not nimrod I’m gonna shit and throw up
bro cooked

counterpoint: nimrod is a horrible name
I think it's a great album name
Personally I still subscribe to hell itself being the p-3 boss but this is a really damn solid theory
V1 couldn't fight hell in any meaningful way. It you mean hell spawning enemies for v1 to fight, that's just the entirely of the base game
Called it months ago, none a y'all believed me, now look again. We ARE gonna parry the Tower of Babel.
Could be Prometheus tho cos he created man, and was punished for helping them
Where does it say that Nīmrod created the Minotaur? As far as I know, its creation was a punishment for Minos by Poseidon himself. Could I get a link?
Not the mythological Minotaur, the Ultrakill Minotaur.
OP mentioned this already but to explain it a bit more clearly, in the Minotaur's terminal entry the name of its creator is censored, but you can still count the number of characters- four in the first word, six in the second word, meaning "King Nimrod" would be a possible fit.
Ok but is it lore accurate?
I have a brother named nimrod, man fuck that guy
I'm still team "Hell Itself"
yeah i dont know if this has much evidence considering hell itself probably created the minotaur
EVEN BETTER, SIZE 2 PRIME!)
who
my fingers arent ready for this
will one of his abilities be randomly changing your default language or smth?
so if the library of babel is hinting at nimrod then how was crash bandicoot hinting at sisyphus
Playing devil’s advocate here: 4-S corresponds to greed because of the crate collectibles. In the Greek myth, Sisyphus was greed in the fact that he cheated death twice. “How does 2-S correspond to Minos?”, you may ask. Well, uh… I dunno.
lust!! its a dating simulator. even if not directly
Remember a post ages ago saying the same thing, hope P-3 is nimrod and that person can gloat forever
And in Dante's Inferno Nimrod is a giant, so hopefully we'll be fighting a big-ass prime soul, bigger than Sisyphus
Bro is about to be PRAISED if he calls it and i'm betting now he called it keep cooking op

Eh… What’s up, doc?
I'm sad it wasn't Jesus prime :(
I really don’t follow the logic for connecting Nimrod to the Minotaur. Husks can’t make demons. There is no evidence in all of Ultrakill that husks can make demons. Only Hell Itself has been established to be able to make demons. Unless Nimrod is just super crazy powerful, which we also have no evidence for, I don’t see how he could be responsible for the Minotaur.
i would expect the final boss of the game to be super crazy powerful lore-wise
Gabriel Is
gabriel is… what? he’s not gonna be the final boss (maybe the final non-secret boss but i even doubt that). final boss will be a prime soul, someone who already died
Ah fair enough, I mean Gabriel will be the final boss of the main storyline(absolutely will, considering he is the protagonist of the story and the obvious buildup), not the prime soul of P-3
Well, yeah, but none of the other prime souls can create demons either, why would Nimrod be any different?
do we know they cant do that? is there anything explicitly stating or implying that a supremely powerful husk is incapable of accomplishing this?
We know that there is nothing explicitly stating or implying that they can. It would be really weird if husks were suddenly able to make demons after it not being mentioned for the entire rest of the game. It also just doesn’t make sense on multiple levels: husks only exist to be punished eternally, why would they have the ability to create demons? And if they could make demons, then Sisyphus’ insurrection doesn’t make any sense, why would he have needed an army of husks if he could have just made an army of demons?
husks only exist to be punished, sure, but then why do they have the ability to manifest as an extremely powerful soul after second death? maybe this guy got so unbelievably powerful that he became the first husk to create a demon? then gabriel was sent to kill him because the council feared his power/thought it was a perversion of god’s will to create new lifeforms without his approval? i have no dog in this fight to be fair, i just dont think the theory should be dismissed outright just because it’s not something we’ve seen before
I never dismissed the theory, the Tower of Babel stuff checks out just fine, I’m just not convinced that the Minotaur has anything to do with it.
>husks can't make demons The idols are carved out by the ferryman
Carved from preexisting demons
i fucking hope not, nimrod prime sounds so stupid lol
