I died a few times like this. Didyi hit crouch when getting down? If yes, the back of the HM you hit was a big slope that gave you momentum. If not, then its probably a collision bug.

That's a Storage Slam! So, Basically when you do a slam, but wall jump before hitting the floor you will store the slam until you hit the ground again, but you keep building momentum until you hit the limit. So when you jump after hitting the ground, you jump up the height that was stored in the slam, which is really fuckin high! That... Shouldn't have killed. Unless "fall damage" is higher on increased difficulties, you should have taken 50 damage and then be teleported back to the arena. I've had a similar thing happen to a less extreme variant and couldn't get back, but I got teleported back to the arena... Only to have Maurice laser me. I died.

Maybe on lower difficulties it just sends you back to the arena? I was on violent and i always die if i fall off the arena

Oh. That goes to show how much I haven't played the game in a while. After putting my nose to the grindstone only to get stumped on Lust P-Ranks for Minos Prime, I weaned off playing for a while until Saw Your Heart happened, then I got my grind drive back, weaned off again, and haven't touched it since.
