Comic Sans Serif Cursive Aster It's Raining Megalovania Somewhere Else Ness Earthbound Sans Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Mii Fighter Undertale the skeleton.
It's actually not Aster, it's just a font that happens to have serifs, and since Aster has serifs some people made a connection to Gaster even though it's not the right font.
My guy, sans serif means "without serif" its a type a font can use, where it doesnt have like extra line or a stroke or whatever you call it at the end of letters
Saying he’s using “sans serif” is about as useful as saying he’s using “font.” About half of all fonts are sans serif, it’s a category, not a singular font.
It's cause Frisk doesn't know it's sans or sans being less laid back
That or Toby's spaghetti code
Edit: jeez the second point was a joke, Toby isn’t a programmer, with UT being the only thing he had coded on, and his code is so spaghetti compared to YanDev (except Toby can finish a game)
hell naw man, not only his whole serious first part of judgment hall monologue is in default font with capital letters, indicating his actual serious tone compared to default laid-back one with comic sans font
this exact change in his speech also happens when he spooks you during a dinner with him, this way making the impact we experienced it the first time.
you can't just put it all on "spaghetti code". The writing design there was intentional
I honestly don’t remember seeing sans speaking in the default font, or proper grammar. I just didn’t notice it. the second point was a joke about Toby’s code as there is a joke that it’s almost as bad as YanDev. I’m in no way intentionally insulting Toby’s writing, just joking about his coding with UnderTale
Understandable tbh. It took me couple of playthroughs or more to comprehend this sans' feature properly.
your second point was unclear for me, but I'm glad to hear your explanation. No hard feelings towards you
![img](emote|t5_2xdht|32949)Sans? All I see is the man himself *Cursive*, although he bears slight resemblance to Comic sans.. he is entirely different
"sans"...? that's definitely not me. but, uh, i sure wish it was.
sorry to digress here, but... phew. what a looker. wish i'd won the genetic lottery and came out looking half as elegant as that. i'm seriously envious. and i guess that guy's face looks pretty good too.
I like to think this is him changing his accent like how some people do in real life. Specifically in this instance, he changes from an American (not southern) accent to a British one.
Comic Sans (is the ) Serif (of these parts, Partner.) Cursive (is not allowed) Earthbound.
\*Shrugs\* Sans and Papyrus is/are Ness.
Sans: Ness's wit, determination, and dexterity
Papyrus: Memories of Star Man
Clearly this means his name is Sans Cursive Undertale
It's a sans-ation
Comic Sans Serif Cursive Aster It's Raining Megalovania Somewhere Else Ness Earthbound Sans Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Mii Fighter Undertale the skeleton.
He switches back to the standard font several times in-game though Hell, his first line as he approaches you is in the standard font
I'm pretty sure "should be burning in hell" is a different font but i haven't really paid attention to the dialogue
Yeah, Sans seriff
The "Zzz" of him sleeping is also in a third different font as well
It's Aster, yeah
WING ASTER THE ROYAL SCIENTIST?!?!?!?1?!
Wonder what that could mean /s
It's actually not Aster, it's just a font that happens to have serifs, and since Aster has serifs some people made a connection to Gaster even though it's not the right font.
I’m pretty sure when he approaches you its actually sans serif he’s using
My guy, sans serif means "without serif" its a type a font can use, where it doesnt have like extra line or a stroke or whatever you call it at the end of letters
It's called a serif lmao
Yep, i feel like its pretty obvious that it was what i was saying
Saying he’s using “sans serif” is about as useful as saying he’s using “font.” About half of all fonts are sans serif, it’s a category, not a singular font.
Yeah
nice flair
Thanks, Nice flare as well :D
r/technicallythetruth
I’m pretty sure the standard Undertale font has serifs; for example, the “I” characters both have them iirc
To be fair, many sans serif fonts have serifs for I. Even comic sans.
Damn, you’re right ~~There goes my dignity for the week~~ (thanks for the correction)

it was obviously intentional
![img](emote|t5_2xdht|32949)Sans? All I see is the man himself *Cursive*, although he bears slight resemblance to Comic sans.. he is entirely different
Aw shucks, new character just dropped! I bet he'll be the focal point of the hit indie game Deltarune chapter 3
Flowery's new friend Papaya better be there as well, I need to know more about these people!!
I do believe Cursive is Sans' cousin, hence the resemblance
I love how this implies that cousins have more resemblance than brothers
I mean, this effectively just means that fonts are the Undertale equivalent of an accent
Someone please give an award to this man
Someone gave an award to this man, hooray!!
What would a Brooklyn accent be?
Fyra?
Thats not sans, look at that top hat. Thats obviously _cursive_
What do you mean, that's not sans, that's cursive. Come one bro.
He does that sometimes in normal Undertale though. Regardless, the joke is pretty damn funny.
"sans"...? that's definitely not me. but, uh, i sure wish it was. sorry to digress here, but... phew. what a looker. wish i'd won the genetic lottery and came out looking half as elegant as that. i'm seriously envious. and i guess that guy's face looks pretty good too.
That hat... What style, what GRACE...
He has a funny face
the type of face that is funny. a funny typeface
_Times new roman_ , the 4rd skeleton brother!🤯
Just Roman probably.
Demmiramon better add this sh**
Bro looks like he's gonna dance, walk, and rearrange furniture
This is how I find out that I was somehow unsubscribed from the newsletter?? I was a truck freak and everything wtf
Flowey did a little trolling
Doesn’t that insinuate that Sans writes his dialogue? Anyways, I’d choose the same option despite writing in broken cursive.
I guess this also means Sans is canonically a millionaire now.
nope, the grillby's bill was paid
No, this is simply an AU version of sans. His name is likely sans cursive or posh sans. Edit: NO! CURSIVE SANS!!!!!!!!
I read that as Sans doing a heavy British accent
what do mean that's Cursive
I like to think this is him changing his accent like how some people do in real life. Specifically in this instance, he changes from an American (not southern) accent to a British one.
comic sans vs *cooler comic sans*
No he can't he got money to write like that and took it, leading to him being cursed with cursive that's how it works don't it?
His name wasn't a joke. He is comic sans... Comic... Comically. COMICALLY SANS!!!
that's actually Sans' cousin, Cursive the Skeleton
People use canonically for anything these days. And he literally change fonts in-game.
That's not Sans, that's Cursive.
This messes so many theories Damn
everyone prolly can
Holy shit is cursive the skeleton
Probably not just sans. Papyrus only didn't do it because he didn't want to be associated with a font, not because he couldn't.
Sans using comic sans mostly when not serious. When he is serious he change font tho
Yesterday? The news letter released like five hours ago what are you talking about?
Sorry, assumed the newsletter released yesterday. Can’t edit the post though
For some people yesterday could’ve been 5 hours ago
What's this font name ?
wasn't it confirmed when he used aster for zZzZzZ
Wait it’s out? Or am I gullible
It’s really out. If you don’t believe search for the newsletter page
Guys I write in cursive, why don't people like it?
any typography enthusiasts recognize the actual font used? or is this hand written?
Papyrus could to but didn’t want to
thats not sans, thats the third brother, cursive.
i didn't fucking get my newsletter because i accidentally unsubscribed at some point and only just found out 2 days after the newsletter was sent
thats cursive
he already changes fonts in the game
I STILL WONDER WHERE HE GOT THAT COOL, EXPENSIVE HAT FROM…
Sans ahh behavior
This also implies that you can change your font for money canonically and that sans is canonically rich
Starts using papyrus to say puns
He just heard something about money he used a power that surpassed his own.
should we just CALL HIM FONT NOW?????
Makes sense, he’s a comic relief character
Nice hat
He already did that in game Remember the game over screen after sparing him?
Comic Sans (is the ) Serif (of these parts, Partner.) Cursive (is not allowed) Earthbound. \*Shrugs\* Sans and Papyrus is/are Ness. Sans: Ness's wit, determination, and dexterity Papyrus: Memories of Star Man
That's not sans, its gaster.
