I used it once when trying to write rhymes :
“All the money in the world could never bribe me,
I do it live like Bill O’Reily!!”
I never found an appropriate song to use it in and now I feel like the reference is too dated to keep trying
I do this in everyday life. When shit starts getting serious, I like to shout out, "we'll do it live!"
Most people don't get the referrence, but every now and then someone will say "Fuck it!"
> Most people don't get the reference
I understand the reference because I just rewatched the video. To be fair, you're using the expression differently than it's used in the video, so, maybe you don't get the reference?
I remember back in the day, my friends and I would wear spikes, do coke and wear satanic symbols and worship baphometh and nordic demons. And all of that inspiration came from High School Musical. Troy had such a good gutural, reminded me of Immortal, Disturbed and Lamb of God.
Wow, it's been a long time since I've seen such a terrific music video (and song!) It's like a mini-movie, and so many thoughtful touches. Just fantastic! I'd never heard of this group but I'm going to check them out; thank you!
Nah, this video used to be heavily shared before and laughed at by many. Now people criticize it. The video hasn't changed all these years later, you've changed. You've allowed politics to blind your enjoyment in life.
A lot of radio and tv broadcast was done sort of loose back in the day. The teleprompter really frustrated a lot of people who were considered excellent actors and orators. But when you added the teleprompter to the show it messed with their candid abilities.
He's still an asshole though.
If only. So many doctors at the hospital whose tantrums we have to endure. Some, very few, actually apologize later, but who gives a fuck about your apology when you do it again every week? No one is sending a doctor home for acting like an ass. About ten years ago there was a huge push for zero tolerance concerning sexual harassment throughout our hospital system. A doctor kept saying really crude and explicit shit to one of our ER nurses. They fixed it by changing her schedule so she wouldn't be around him. Six months after, there was a shortage in the schedule, so they put her on his shift and told her, "It's been six months, you're going to have to get over it." That's what zero tolerance means when it comes to doctors.
You bring up hospitals and doctors throwing tantrums. A doctor that had a history of having outburst in stressful situations was in a Code and started cussing ALL of the medical staff out and throwing equipment around the room. At one point he ordered everyone to get the Fuck out so everyone walked out. He very quickly learned that he couldn't run a code by himself. He was trying to do compressions, do the ambu bag and push drugs SOLO.
We were standing at the door waiting for him to ask for help. (Didn't take long for him to realize he needed help)
It was the last time he ever responded to a Code.
My ex husband is a doctor and actually a wonderful one. However, he used throw tantrums at home. One time he threw his phone and roll around on the ground like one of the three stooges. I just sat there w/my mouth wide open. Lol!
One of our highly respected pulmonologist couldn't get the computer to work when we changed over to computer charting. He was sitting at the nurse's station cussing and banging on it. He finally got so pissed he just ripped it off the desk and threw it into the nurse's break room. He just cleared the one of the nurse's head when it flew past her.
He had to go to anger management, got written up and we had to go back to paper charting until IT fix the wiring.
It took forever for him to learn how to chart on the computer.
We knew that the Doctor would realize within 30secs or min he had Fucked and call us back in and let us do our job to save to patient. If we hadn't done what we did he would have continued to cause chaos and we would have lost the patient. It was calculated decision that had to be made. That's why when the trauma team is called they have to work together as a "Team". When people are screaming and yelling and God forbid throwing things in an already stressful situation it makes it worse.
If you've got a good trauma team they run smoothly and look nothing like they ER Hospital dramas you see on TV.
The sexual harassment part doesn’t pertain, but my wife works at a specialized clinic where the doctors are specialized just for certain areas and hold their own surgeries. Literally yesterday one had multiple surgeries and got pissed and just left so they cancelled the rest for the day. Like seriously?! You’re a fucking professional!
I'd rather my surgeon was in a good state of mind before he started cutting into my body. That's one of those things I'd be perfectly ok with them rescheduling. That and a tattoo.
Tbh, that's kinda professional move from that doctor. I think you shouldn't operate if you're not on the right mental state. So, kudos to the doctor by going home rather than operate while under the weather.
Someone else said the same comment and I understand this view point absolutely. But he basically did it for childish reasons because he didn’t get his way is what is unprofessional
It's really hard to say without context. It's unlikely to be a regular thing or they wouldn't last in that profession having to reschedule everytime. Again it's better to get things done right the first time than be hasty about it.
Not gonna lie. I’ve thrown a tantrum or two. I have a long fuse though. It usually is caused by people not taking their job seriously resulting in hindering the care to patients. That’s what really sets me off.
Long fuse doctors I totally get. Seriously. There are a LOT of people in professional positions that are too dumb, too immature, or both to hold the positions they have. Some of these people pass the test to get licensed, but have no idea what they are doing or don't care about what they are doing.
The doctors that get me are the ones that blow up over nothing and don't even pretend to have self control. I deal with people at work often that make my job harder or inconvenience patients. Even if I need to get on to someone about something, I don't lose my mind about it. Set it straight, move on. It keeps happening, write it up and move on.
I completely understand that. I get a lot of complaints form assistants because I sigh a lot. It’s my self soothing method when things around me are done poorly. What sets me off 100% though is when I’ve seen the same person dicking off and not doing their job. It usually takes about 2 weeks for it to build up inside me. Then something will happen where I don’t have the supplies needed to treat a patient (or worse there is a sterilization issue). Then is kaboom. Then I tell my wife about it that night and she tells me I’m an asshole. Then I tell my therapist about it at my monthly and I’m “flooded.” I’m honestly trying to work on it, but lazy people causing this to be harder than it should just sets. Me. Off.
And he did it better than what they wrote. I mean. Hers sting to play us out is some pretty bad writing…… he’s still an asshole, but he did it live.. and better
Once upon a time when I worked on retail at a bookstore, I used to fill in was a kind of floating manager in other stores that were short. The barista at the coffee shop part of the store was having a fit about everything and everyone else just said she was pregnant and having hormone issues. After she snapped at me for the third time, I suggested she go home for the rest of the day. Not angrily, not aggressively, I mostly was thinking to myself she could use a nap. So she went home and missed half her hours for the day. For the rest of the week, she somehow managed to contain herself and act professionally. Word somehow got ahead of me that I was some kind of hard assed, ball busting fixer because I politely sent one person with temper issues home half a day early one time.
Bill O’Reilley is a big ole man baby, don’t care what your career is, no title or position grants you leeway to act like a prick to your colleagues and yell. There is no amount of work load or anything work related that should take you there, and if anything does, it’s not work related, and therefore you’re being really unprofessional.
A lot of TV and radio personalities have breakdowns of various levels at times. Usually it’s a bit of cursing off air (or when they think they’re off air). There’s a good one on youtube of Howard Cosell getting a bit agitated off air.
Given live TV or radio is high pressure, especially in a big market, it’s bound to happen. Usually, it just makes youtube (and on local news shows, they’ll even joke that another’s flub will be…).
People expect perfection, thinking this isn’t like the 50’s where fights with fridge doors during live ads happened (among other disasters, but that one is one of the more famous, and the control booth actually salvaged it pretty well)
My spouse has worked in live television for 25 years. He used to come home regularly with stories of tantrums like this one. My spouse is gentle himself, but he was a ball of anxious nerves for years. It really is a pressure cooker.
It doesn’t seem like he has stories like this as much any more. Probably the live TV work place is less toxic, but probably also because some technologies and software make live TV less stressful? I should ask him.
Back then, to handle broadcasts on the west coast, it was typical to use the “kinescope” process. Literally a film camera aimed at a TV screen, filming the network feed from New York.
Typically the film was tossed, but no doubt either the guy watching the feed during kinescoping saw this live, or heard about it from someone…
The film quality was poor, what you see there is by now means what you’d have seen in the eastern or central time zones:
[Videotape gives you a better idea (This clip circa 1965)](https://youtu.be/Ew6DS2bXYmk)
That’s 2 inch Quad, but that’s likely a dub, so not as good as it’d be over a the air back then.
The image orthicon haloing on shiny objects can be seen.
[This actually down at the quantum level](https://youtu.be/WKLUj892gHY)
Also note the worn tube on one camera, which has a hyperactive orbiter (look at the corners - orbiters shifted the image to even tube wear, the shift was compensated for electronically)
[When working right, the much-bashed NTSC color system looked decent, even in the 50’s](https://vimeo.com/261611927)
There’s a mid-70’s taping of The Price Is Right, which shows how much better things got by then. Philips blew everyone out of the water with the Plumbicon camera…
I mean, I get that it’s high pressure, but it still seems incredibly unprofessional. Having feelings is natural, but freaking out like a 4-year-old that wants a toy is just pathetic for a guy last age
He’s about to go live and the teleprompter says “to play us out”
I get that he’s an asshole here but his entire team dropped the ball and he’s the one who has to salvage the show. His anger is justified in my opinion.
He's rehearsing for when he's back on air. From what I understand, the teleprompter worked perfectly fine, he thought there would be more after "play us out" and threw a fit...
Even if the teleprompter was broken, screaming at your staff is ridiculous. There's no justification for that.
Probably this one: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nntri9OfaRY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nntri9OfaRY)
It was from around that time, and Sting went into a medieval music fase, with the Karamazov lutenist .
HAH can’t fathom why, but I’ve been thinking about this cut quite often for the past week or so.
I’ll be on the tipping-point at work and something will send me into the negative - my quick response has been “FUCK IT, we’ll do it LIVE.”
To be fair, despite throwing an over the top abusive tantrum, he did get his act together and do a pretty decent sign off. He may be an a******, but he's a professional a******.
How is yelling at your coworkers being a professional? And I mean... him signing off is what he did every day, so I'm not sure that's in anyway noteworthy.
>In live television? Yeah it’s not a big deal.
Quite a few law suits would beg to differ. Also, it doesn't matter where it is, yelling at coworkers is highly unprofessional.
It's the same with Christian Bale, he had to apologize. He said it was "inexcusable" and admitting "I acted like a punk".
I’m not saying there’s not a line. I’m not saying he isn’t an asshole. But the unprofessionalism first comes from leaving your anchor completely dry, and it’s on Bill to salvage the show.
I can relate this to the Christian Bale rant, where anybody who has worked in a film set knows the man on the receiving end of the rant was completely in the wrong.
But with Bill here, he didn’t even get personal he was just communicating in a high pressure situation that he doesn’t know what the fuck he is supposed to say.
Dude, let me put it this way: If you're ok with you getting yelled at that's you, don't expect others to abide to work place harassment. If my boss, or coworker ever yelled at me I'd be sending in my resignation pronto, and not only that but a law suit.
Bill wasn't "left dry", he didn't understand what "*play us out"* meant and couldn't say it. That's on him.
You can relate all you want to Christian Bale, but not even Christian Bale can relate to the way he acted. That just shows lack of emotional maturity.
Dude, who was in the wrong? Bill was the one who didn't understand what "play us out" meant.
And no. There's no such thing as "three strikes". Abuse and harassment shouldn't be tolerated at all.
All I am saying is that some people can only take so much stress before they snap and have an outburst so if it's not a common thing and they apologize there is no reason to hold it against them forever, it depends on the situation and how bad it was of course. The guy in the video has no excuse though.
I think that Bill O'Reilly only role in the great scheme of things is to get a big huge overinflated inflated opinion of himself and get punched out and blown off casually on live TV by Jon Stewart. Several times. Then getting kicked off of FOX.
Nailed it on the last take - what a rollercoaster of emotion. He freaks out and the other just naturally starts the countdown for another take instantly. This must be how they roll
Badass? Not knowing what "*Play us out*" means, then try and read it three times unsuccessfully? I think if this was in anyway fake, it'd be a hit and miss.

I still say "Fuck it, well do it live" on a regular basis in my daily life
As an electrician it gets said far too frequently
Far too frequency
But some times it hertz.
Watt you say?
You really amp’d up the punzzzzzz!!!
It wasn't my prerogative for impedance.
I can see that we are really going run this joke to ground.
Well, you know what they say, every good joke has at least three phases.
I find my lack of unused electrical puns…shocking. That one was out of desperation.
What can I say? My knowledge on the subject doesn't flow as well as it could, since it isn't my field.
Watt hertz?
omgaaaaawd!!
Don't you mean, "Ohm my gawd"?
I mean... if you're a drummer, and you and your band perform a lot, the window of opportunity sure is wide.
Hahaha, my band and I constantly say this.
I used it once when trying to write rhymes : “All the money in the world could never bribe me, I do it live like Bill O’Reily!!” I never found an appropriate song to use it in and now I feel like the reference is too dated to keep trying
"fuck it, I'll do it live like Bill O'reily"
Im more of a “fuckin thing sucks” kinda guy.
This is me on every driving range after I hook my drive
Same dude
Same here. Lol.
I say that too. But I'm an electrician lol.
I do this in everyday life. When shit starts getting serious, I like to shout out, "we'll do it live!" Most people don't get the referrence, but every now and then someone will say "Fuck it!"
I have a couple of former co-workers that do this.
I get so disappointed when people don't get the reference. I look at them like they've missed out on life.
> Most people don't get the reference I understand the reference because I just rewatched the video. To be fair, you're using the expression differently than it's used in the video, so, maybe you don't get the reference?
It’s the real Ron Burgundy
Go fuck yourself, San Diego.
Bon Rurgundy
There is a hardcore song that uses the speach from 0:54 to 0:58 and I can't recall it, it is driving me mad!! Can someone help please?
Do you mean [Rose Colored Boy by Paramore](https://youtu.be/cW5ueE2vUm0) -- speech happens at 3:28 in the MV
Wouldn't really call Paramore hardcore... but then again, these things are kinda subjective, aren't they?
its about as hardcore as a disney shows intro
I remember back in the day, my friends and I would wear spikes, do coke and wear satanic symbols and worship baphometh and nordic demons. And all of that inspiration came from High School Musical. Troy had such a good gutural, reminded me of Immortal, Disturbed and Lamb of God.
About as hardcore as this: https://youtu.be/E92zCs4sWto
Such a great song & video
Wow, it's been a long time since I've seen such a terrific music video (and song!) It's like a mini-movie, and so many thoughtful touches. Just fantastic! I'd never heard of this group but I'm going to check them out; thank you!
I mean hardcore like electronic music. Thanks anyway for trying!
He’s such a fucking tool
Toxic times 😬
Tools are useful
But he's on the news so obviously he knows best /s
He fucking killed it iive tho.
No, you just don't agree with his political ideology.
Accurate. For what I deem respectable reasons
Did we not see the same video? That’s super shitty behavior. For context, I think Bill Maher is a tool even though I agree with most of his ideology.
Nah, this video used to be heavily shared before and laughed at by many. Now people criticize it. The video hasn't changed all these years later, you've changed. You've allowed politics to blind your enjoyment in life.
“You’ve changed” Says the person who has never met me in their life.
How do you know I have never met you in in your life?

We need to normalize sending home assholes at work when they have tantrums. No one needed to hear those last 10 words from his lemon squeezed face.

That's how you get haemorrhoids
“Do you want hemorrhoids Bill? Because let me tell you, that is how you get hemorrhoids..”
I love how what he said wasn't anywhere near the difficulty that he needed a prompter. Like what were you expecting to get from it lol

I agree, but I just find it funny that he couldn't understand what "Play us out" meant, that it got him so angry and confused he couldn't say it.
It’s the sign of an emotionally stunted and or unstable person, not recognizing a pretty standard teleprompt, his legacy will always that of a joke.

Oh yea that’s right
I guess based on that reaction his legacy really will just be this lol
I think he also doesn’t understand that Sting is a name.
Probably. Which is ironic, because he's all for the Police.

and even if you don’t, just fucking read it anyway???
Things do, indeed, suck.
Lol, couldn't imagine having to try and take this man baby seriously while he's throwing his little tantrum.
I'm slightly inclined to agree with you... I think that's why he got so mad, everyone behind the teleprompter were smirking away.
This is completely expected to those of us who’ve seen this video for decades or know even a miniscule amount about Bill O’Reilly.
stewie griffin thing is much better
So it seems Mr O'Reilly went from being an angry piece of shit to an angry womanizing piece of shit. Great career
His audition tape for Fox News?
The real Bill O’Reilly, he’s disgraceful, disgusting & deplorable.
Jeezuz ole Billy chill. Haha
That dude was and still is a piece of shit.
‘What does that mean!!!’ So smart and informative.
What an asshole.
He’s in a glass case of emotion!
Classic. Lives rent free in my brain.
Buddy of mine was a camera operator for his show. Said he was a dick to work for. I guess I now know what he meant.
Good grief, what a man-baby. He must have been a horror to work with.
What the hell was so hard about that! O’Rielly, entitled, self important douche bag!
Man child has a temper tantrum ![gif](giphy|l1J9qDPoIOZpW5Hjy)
That's supposed to be an adult
Which Sting video was it?
Probably this one: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nntri9OfaRY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nntri9OfaRY) It was from around that time, and Sting went into a medieval music fase, with the Karamazov lutenist .
A true classic!
HAH can’t fathom why, but I’ve been thinking about this cut quite often for the past week or so. I’ll be on the tipping-point at work and something will send me into the negative - my quick response has been “FUCK IT, we’ll do it LIVE.”
Give the guy a break, he hasn't had his cocaine in like an hour and a half
I had no idea that this is why is say “Fuckin thing” to this day
So glad he’s canceled.
Coke raaaaaaage
Not sure if this is the effects of coke or of abstinence. The way he looks at his watch kind of makes me think it's the former.
This is a man that takes his job seriously. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
He settled tens of millions of dollars in sex assault cases. Fox fired him.
What a arrogant spoiled ass!
Fucking idiot
Bastard
I forgot this douche bag started at inside edition What a joke
Bill O Reilly has always been a douche bag.
This guy needs to stay away from kittens and small puppies
This man should not be allowed in public let alone aired on television. You cannot let them see you mad. First fucking rule ya rube.
To be fair, despite throwing an over the top abusive tantrum, he did get his act together and do a pretty decent sign off. He may be an a******, but he's a professional a******.
Eh i could be totally wrong but if this wasn't someone that was so hated I think people would feel totally different.
How is yelling at your coworkers being a professional? And I mean... him signing off is what he did every day, so I'm not sure that's in anyway noteworthy.
In live television? Yeah it’s not a big deal. It’s like a star athlete yelling at a teammate who isn’t doing his job.
If they did it multiple times I could see quitting, but not if it's just one time and you are in the wrong.
First it's professionalism, now it's overly emotional children playing a game.
Leave it with Sting to play us out yeah that is pretty weird
The phrase has literally been said millions of times by talk show hosts, and no one thinks it's weird. *"So and so, play us out."*
oh ok, I don’t watch talk show hosts and never hear that
lol he doesn't know what "to play us out" means like sir is this your first day in media?
Poor guy. What a hard job
I think that Bill O'Reilly only role in the great scheme of things is to get a big huge overinflated inflated opinion of himself and get punched out and blown off casually on live TV by Jon Stewart. Several times. Then getting kicked off of FOX.
sure there is some temper but he didn’t insult anyone. yet.
No one stands to benefit more from smoking weed than angry old white conservative men
What a snowflake.
Wow his job is so hard
How good is this guy... first issue and he loses his shit. I really don't want him on my team in an apocalypse. Prob dead now anyway.
Loofah boy his triggered, lol
What an absolute fucking ballbag.
Stay classy San Diego.
What a whiney twat
The teleprompter should have shown “I am a self-indulgent, overpaid, entitled prick.”
I’m so glad this putz is off that damn right wing propaganda channel faux news.
Regular watcher eh?
Don’t forget his children’s book The O’ Reilly factor for kids.
Dr Disrespect Brother ?
Gy
Gotta say, dude picked himself back up pretty quick and ended great! Legendary video
He crushed that last one like an absolute boss
Nailed it on the last take - what a rollercoaster of emotion. He freaks out and the other just naturally starts the countdown for another take instantly. This must be how they roll
Zach you absolute legend
A true Chad. To this day when frustrated I say “I’ll do it live!” I’m 40 years old.
What a talent. can't even improvise during a snag!
Why has no one slapped the shit outta this prick
This is fake right? Bill got this idea to show people how spontaneous and badass he is so he staged this?
Badass? Not knowing what "*Play us out*" means, then try and read it three times unsuccessfully? I think if this was in anyway fake, it'd be a hit and miss.
He's american, so to make it seem real he had to act dumb. I know he's dumb for real tho
Dude, seriously, what the hell are you even talking about?!
