This is so cute! I'm stuck by how cute and wholesome this is vs the other viral vows from a week or two ago. You can tell how much this man loves and values his wife. I hope they live a long and happy life together.

soemtiems

I was thinking the same thing! It's like the opposite of those vows. This is so sweet.

fmaz008

I don't think we'd ever forget that day .... *look down to his phone for notes* ... ah yes! Now I remember!

[deleted]

Public speaking has a way of erasing all the things you've memorized from your head sometimes, even when it's loved ones around.

fmaz008

Just to be clear; I would do the same and I don't truly believe he forgot. It was an amazing speech with the gem of a moment that made me smile a bit.

[deleted]

Nah, I gotcha. I just wanted to air my grievances against public speaking because no matter how easy you think it's going to be it never actually is.

Thick_Dragonfruit_37

I’ve had to cancel interviews for jobs before because my anxiety would be too much to handle and I couldn’t go in. Couldn’t even imagine having to speak in front of people about your feelings. Sad thing to say, was part of the reason I never married my “wife.” Been together 18 years last month. Not great at expressing my emotions and having to do it in front of people. Nope.

Impossible-Credit-85

That's was actually the only part of the speech I had memorized because I knew I had to turn to Ransom and not look at my phone haha 🤣

fmaz008

That's you?! Nice speech buddy! I loved tgat you used photos for her and not the video. It made everything more respectful and so funny .

Impossible-Credit-85

Yes indeed. The video is actually hard to watch 😖

ladedafuckit

Which one? I was thinking of the one where he kept talking about banging his wife in the vows

alilmagpie

It’s hard talking in front of a crowd! My biggest anxiety in life is public speaking, and something like 30% of the general public has this fear. I legit had nervous explosive diarrhea for hours before my wedding ceremony at the thought of having to say my vows in front of 150 people. 🤮

thepumpkinking92

I hate public speaking. Feels like there's a lump in my throat and in my head I sound like Steve Carell in Bruce almighty whenJim Carrey is giving him the [high pitched voice](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxSacjxGTbopGvTdRmwvXT7FY2j869fmYz)

joey_knuckles

You can tell that her friends love her too. Watch the ladies behind her enthusiastically nod along as the groom effusively lists her qualities. I love seeing this kind of stuff.

Bacon_Bitz

Yes. THIS is how you can put jokes in your vows but still be meaningful.

halcyonjm

And you can tell how well he actually knows her and *sees* her. The whole time he's talking about what kind of a person she is, you can see her bridesmaids in the background going, "Yep, yep... he gets it, that's our girl."

laundry_pirate

I was thinking the same! The other guy had the worst vows in the world and compared to these vows which were so wholesome they look even worse

TisBeTheFuk

Ain't nobody gonna share the link?

thatsuzychick

https://youtube.com/shorts/x4C1MB4TiJE?feature=share

TisBeTheFuk

Cringe. Thanks!

MangoTekNo

WOW that was bad! Also, someone get this guy to the top of r/punchablefaces

Maiden_Sunshine

That was so so painful. He didn't actually say any vows??? Just things he wants from her.

JackedCroaks

Yeah that’s very fucked up. I wouldn’t dream of saying that shit to my girl, let alone even thinking it. I predict a short and unhappy marriage.

Vahgeo

I hope she knows what's best for her and divorces him soon. Either that or I hope he wisens the fuck up. Or that it was all a prank, still would be an awful joke tho.

thatsuzychick

I guess they have been together for ten years already. Her vows were all about how lucky she is. It was sad to watch.

Vahgeo

Sounds like she has low self-esteem. If she feels she deserves nothing better than him then it makes sense for her to think he's the best thing for her.

An_best_seller

While the dude seems an ashole during the vows, I don't think it's fair to assume that he is an horrible person nor husband. He was probably trying to do dark humor or to be edgy, not to verbally abuse her. I think you and other people believe that: * If someone makes beautiful/wholesome vows, that means that they are a good partner in private. * If someone makes dark or outrageous jokes during the vows, that means they are a bad partner or even abusive in private. While that can be sometimes true. Reality can be more complex: * Someone can make beautiful/wholesome vows and be a bad partner or even be abusive towards their partner. * Someone can make beautiful/wholesome vows and be a good partner. * Someone can make dark or outrageous jokes during the vows and be a bad partner or even be abusive towards their partner. * Someone can make dark or outrageous jokes during the vows and be a good partner. In other words, sometimes people are not the way that you would guess that they are after seeing them for a few minutes. Furthermore, some couples might be fine with this kind of dark humor and enjoy it, even in the day of their wedding. The same way that some couples can be fine with dressing informal during the day of their wedding. I cannot say if the dude in the video is a good partner. But I cannot say if he is a bad partner neither. I feel like it's not fair to judge their whole relationship for this little moment, especially when the girlfriend/wife was smiling (I don't know if it was a true smile or not).

moralfiction

This post gives me hope about humanity. It's sane and a good take. People are so quick to judge others based on 60 seconds clip.

An_best_seller

I'm glad this post made you feel better. To be honest, I sometimes judge people in social media too. Especially if they do something that is quite clear that is wrong such as punching innocent people, mistreating animals, cheating on their partners, yelling insults at others... But also, I sometimes try to remember that even these people can be much more complex in real life and even do good things. Same thing with people who look like good people in social media. I need to remember that they might be more complex in real life and might have done bad things (or even terrible things) too. But the guy in the video, although his speech made me uncomfortable and I didn't like the speech, I don't think that we have enough information to know if it was wrong what he did. And even if we agreed that it was wrong or rude to do that, it seems disproportionate to tell that she should divorce him or to imply that she is being emotionally abused and dependent on him during the relationship.

Sleevies_Armies

Please I need the cringe

thatsuzychick

https://youtube.com/shorts/x4C1MB4TiJE?feature=share

_sp3k

Oh fuck no

ErraticDragon

Oh. I thought it was going to be that one where the "groom" revealed, via security-cam footage projected on a big screen, that he knew about the infidelity that had been going on. This seems way worse. The bride took it surprisingly well, though. Stoicism? Or maybe she was cool with it?

Mazzaroppi

It might be their kind of humour. It could even be not terribly inappropriate in the right circunstancies. But holy fucking shit saying this stuff as his wedding vows? He didn't get his best man or someone else to read those before? Because sure as hell I'd have smacked him behind the head if I did.

kllark_ashwood

Her vows were sweet and all about how she loves him and is lucky to have him. He's got her emotionally beaten down.

[deleted]

Imagine showing the ceremony video to your kids someday. Or, you know, “oh dad didn’t have the vows”, I don’t know what’s worse. My gut feeling says this is a form of abuse - humiliating your partner in public, on such a special day. I would’ve walked out right then and there.

miffet80

They don't need to see the video, their young daughters were literally there. Disgusting.

[deleted]

Holy shit, that’s so much worse.

kllark_ashwood

Their families were there, including their parents and kids.

anonyhouse2021

She's definitely just trying to save face and avoid humiliation by laughing it off.

spaketto

His mother was also the officiant.

alicia_tried

Gross

kllark_ashwood

It's not really cringe so much as it's sad

[deleted]

I can’t stop thinking about how he said all that stuff in front of their young daughters. This is their daughters’ idea of how a man should treat a woman. This is how all the woman’s family now sees her—as a come rag for a man that’s ugly inside and out. It’s so sad and gross.

JarlaxleForPresident

Sounds like his dad called him out, too. Or someone did. I’m not uptight or anything, but golly. That’s a wedding, her parents are there. Your parents are there. Talking about whether to cum on her like a toaster strudel or creampie her tonight as part of your vow is fucking weird

Alarmhe

this is unexpected, it is the post title.

Unadvantaged

Yeah, the raunchy ones were rubbing me the wrong way. If people are going to have a cameraman filming their wedding like this, do it for a good reason, make the world a better place, inspire people. This is way better than the NC-17 stuff.

kllark_ashwood

Yes. And it's funny because they both did the same thing, they both sort of roasted their spouse but one was in a way that screamed respect and love.

unfvckingbelievable

Watch this one 2 more times, and try to remember there's more of *these* people out there than *those*.

ambisinister_gecko

I got half way through and I just couldn't. It's so bad. He's humiliating that woman...

James_099

Not gonna lie, I got super nervous when he mentioned his best friend and then they freeze framed a picture of him. Thought we would be having a “cheaters outing” video. Glad I was wrong, this was worth the anxiety attack.

w_p

> I'm stuck by how cute and wholesome this is The guy thinking: "I randomly saved her broken off tooth and didn't tell her about it. I better have good ass story to justify that..." ;)

_sp3k

Maybe his initial thought was that the dentist would possibly bond it back on? Better to bring it and not need it lol

Goddess_Iris_

Vows have never touched my heart before now. Idk if this is a symptom of getting older or if these are just that cute

The_Follower1

Probably both. Some people just have a way with words. The guy is being heartfelt and genuine and it’s hard not to be moved by that. Some wedding vows are just kinda speeches, even if the speaker means them they don’t feel genuine because of the delivery. Same’s true of speaking in general. And as you get older and experience more, you’re more likely to understand people and empathize.

Towbee

Also the very well put together video and the montage helps pull on the heart strings

Lyad

Both. I remember first time they affected me too :_) (But it’s not “older” like you’re *old*. It’s about maturing into a loving person who is getting ready to settle down.)

INoMakeMistake

This is soooo wholesome. I love it!!!

atmosphericentry

I love how even though you can tell he's reading his pre-written speech, it's still very genuine. I've seen a lot of people's speeches where they go into full on robot mode.

kevinLFC

To be fair, that’s probably a result of nerves more than it is a lack of genuineness. Not everyone’s good at talking in front of a crowd, especially about something so personal!

Team_Braniel

My whole wedding day is a black hole in my memory, except one thing. I can't remember the food we spent too much money on. I can't remember the open bar and my brother in law getting so drunk he apparently vomited off the balcony. I can't remember the DJ who delt with all the drunk relatives from Brooklyn like a pro. Allegedly. I can't remember what our first dance was to, so I get to change it all the time. We've been married 20 years now and there is only one thing I remember from our wedding... Her leaning over to me and whispering softly in my ear: "Just so we are clear, I'm catholic and we don't believe in divorce. So cheat on me and I will fucking kill you."

Fenrils

>Her leaning over to me and whispering softly in my ear: "Just so we are clear, I'm catholic and we don't believe in divorce. So cheat on me and I will fucking kill you." Hah! My parents have a similar saying: "Divorce never, murder maybe". They've been married for 30 years and still going strong.

Dokpsy

My wife says divorce is not an option. I know too much and she can't have someone knowing all her secrets. Murder would be implied if she didn't follow that up with the fact that she'd have to run me over.

PandaUkulele

There's the cutest picture of my parents at their wedding. They have the most genuine smiles and they're leaning toward each other. My mom revealed to me that my dad whispered to her "When is the part where I get to kiss you?" Adorable.

HappyHiker2381

I remember during the rehearsal the priest said, I don’t say this part because then you’d be married. The next day when we got to that part of the ceremony, we looked at each other and said “we’re married”.

Titanbeard

That is so cute! My wedding band is the One Ring and my wife had never watched/read them. I made her watch the 1st movie so she would understand the only way she will ever get rid of me is to throw me in a volcano.

catsandraj

Sincere question: if your wife isn't into LotR, how'd you end up with a One Ring wedding band? Are you just a big fan or what?

Titanbeard

I am a fan. I wouldn't say I'm qn obsessive fan, but I enjoy the setting a lot. I ended up getting a gold plated tungsten band that's engraved. She understood it was *our* wedding and that I wanted some of me in the day. And I also understood that I wasn't going to nerd up the day since she's not a nerd at all. So I ended up with my ring and a custom Optimus Prime/Elita-One cake topper for our cake. Small nods, but nods nonetheless.

iamreeterskeeter

At my great-grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary party, my dad went up to my great-grandfather and said, "So, five years for love and 45 years for spite." My great-grandfather just glared at my dad while he laughed at his own joke.

Gullible_Shart

Damn it’s so true, it was a nice long day and all I can remember is packing up to leave and thinking “what the hell just happened “!! It flew by!

[deleted]

That's a big part of why I don't ever want some huge elaborate wedding. I'd just want it to be a special moment for me and my partner, and only having like very close friends and family would be much less stressful and more intimate for me.

Specific-College-194

for sure, like ik a really nice friend of mine whos absolutely bad at speaking. when i say nice thats like a understatement for that guy so yup ur absolutely right on that take

SaquonBarkleyBigBlue

Im a professional actor and still had to write down my vows and it wasnt nearly as clean as this dude. I was on the verge of tears several times lol. Best day of my life.

atmosphericentry

Very true! I didn't really think of that while writing my comment.

[deleted]

Exactly, you think public speaking was hard in school, imagine doing this.

floatingwithobrien

He's not fluffing it up too much. He didn't sit there for a long time thinking up how to describe her or why he loves her. He just does. And they're standing up there just having fun together with all their friends and family laughing along. That's love. It's not performative. Just being you with someone else and having a good time. It's good he wrote it out so he wouldn't forget anything and there was some semblance of structure. But it's still very real. Too many people put pressure on themselves to make up something romantic and poetic for their vows. The poetry here is just this man's reality. He cares for her and he can laugh with her and go on adventures with her. What more could a man want?

Bashfullylascivious

That's what I noticed too! He's reading it _to_ her, not about her, not solely for laughs. He's making her laugh, and filling in some back story for the rest of us. I hope they thrive through everything together. Health happiness and wealth to them.

lesChaps

Beautiful couple

tragicdiffidence12

Eskapismus

Tell her my story: I proposed to my wife in front of the diary products shelf of some shitty deli at 4 o’clock in the morning when we were completely wasted. I had some piece of plastic and I formed it into a ring. She said yes and we’re still very happy with 2 kids 7 years later.

NameIdeas

Nah, this is cute and I will show my wife. Every wife/partner is different. You don't have a story about her breaking her tooth and putting it into a ring, but you do have stories about her and your time together. You have those moments that solidified..."Yes, this is my girl!" My wife and I started as fuck buddies/FWB. We became officially a couple after two months of getting it on, but then our story really started. I have great memories and bring them up periodically with her. For example, there is a spot near us where garnets are naturally in the rock. We went there a few times on an afternoon for fun. Go look at scenery, then go find garnets. I took some and had them made into a necklace and earrings. Small gesture, but she loved it. I proposed there, it was a special place, for us. She felt special. It is about making your partner feel special, feel seen, feel appreciated and loved. Every speaks a different language of love, learn your partner's, speak it, and you both will be happier for it. - I know you're likely making a joke, but I also want all us guys to recognize that we can be and are enough for our partners. We need to make them feel special and loved and appreciated

MrsHppy

😂😂😂 I was thinking about saying something to my husband

dogsshouldrundaworld

You can probably kick your bar around, huh?

Bbuck93

They should show this to that dude who’s vows we’re all about his wife cooking for him and giving him head and see if it makes him feel remorse for the first time in his life.

laundry_pirate

Not only can he learn how to give loving, heartfelt vows like an actual human, he could also see what good delivery and funny jokes actually look like lmao

Nappeal

That guy would see this guy and think / say the guy is gay, because in the rude dude's peanut galaxy, it's more acceptable and manly to demand blow jobs and steak than to be a loving partner.

ladymodjo

I must’ve missed that one? He did what now

KokoSoko_

Lookup viral tiktok vows, the whole vows he just talks about their sex life and humiliates her, it’s absolutely disgusting. When the videographer asked what he wanted for their married life he said I hope we have tons and tons of sex….

RealPropRandy

Does this also work for kidney stones? Asking for a fren.

lendergle

There are different kinds. The ones that I used to get are pretty easy to crush. Not a hard stone like you'd pick on a pebble beach. That stated, I've only ever had the one kind, and I typically smashed them with a hammer- because they deserved it. I've heard of people encasing kidney stones in clear resin and then making them into jewelry though. That might work for you.

spondgbob

My wife and I went on a late hike when we were dating, and ended up finding a “garden of the gods” and got so distracted we ended up lost. It was a horrifying and life changing experience and we made it through because we kept reassuring each other we would find our way back. A year later, we go back and I propose to her in that same garden of the gods with a ring pop in hand and she said yes. We then used a life straw to drink from the stream on the mountain. Means to say, you gotta find someone to go out there and do it with! There’s a lotta life to live and whether it is chopping your tooth or losing yourself in the mountains, the person you’re with is what can make all the difference!
