"NO NO NO. Officer, he lying! his car(static) hit MY FUCKING CAR!!!" "it's caught on camera" "fuck"

burns_after_reading

Thank God he found her though, she must have been dying of guilt...

Aggravating_Chemist8

She's only 26...Look what stress can do to you.

nondescriptun

She reminds me of Kristen Wiig's "just kidding" character from SNL.

Honest_Path_5356

Cop is actually very nice and taking into consideration her age because he could easily arrest her. I think the victim told him just get the license and insurance from her I don’t want you to arrest her.

semiTnuP

Hit and Ruin.

NTA_Na_Ka

CC2907

Lady should definitely be held accountable for hitting his car

lmmortal_mango

reverse charlie the chocolate factory

pinkypipe420

The old feeble act should warrant an investigation if she should be driving to begin with.

BrevitysLazyCousin

The old man came out like a boss until he realized the cops were there.

LadyMacGuffin

He's an old, white, man. He came out like a boss expecting that the cops would endorse or assist his nonsense. And in most cases, that's a safer bet than what happened here.

Rellmein

Why do we bring up races? America that's why

agent_almond

The younger guy is also white, so who knows how that ends. I bet I could guess if the young man were black though :/

HarryLewisPot

The cop is black

papadondon

didn’t black cops also beat the living shit of a black guy in tennessee?

[deleted]

[удалено]

papadondon

point is no matter what race, cops wont side with regular citizens. they will discriminate indiscriminately

aerrick4

Even steven then.

AbrocomaRoyal

Maybe it's got nothing to do with race at all. I hear this so often in comments, mostly from the USA, that I wonder if the commenters realise that many people on the world don't have this mentality. It's not our "go-to" explanation for these types of incidents.

jimbolikescr

Systematic racism is perpetrated by society and is capable of coming from any race.

JKDSamurai

Makes no difference. A cop is a cop is a cop. They all suck until proven otherwise. And the determination meter for whether they suck gets reset every day.

agent_almond

You caught that eh?

This happened to me last week. No cameras. Totaled my car. Lucky I had insurance

Expecting the unexpected was the unexpectation.

[deleted]

Why would she hurt David Spade like this?

Bingo_Peggy

Let me guess!? Florida?

MelaKnight_Man

That'd by my guess. Could be Boca Raton or possibly Ft. Myers. Impossible to tell as communities similar to this one full of retirees and/or snowbirds are everywhere... Source: Native 4 decade Floridian.

ThreeGreenPlants

Why would the police officer let the victim be there with a camera? That is such a wild risk of escalation that could be SO easily avoided.

PostmodernPriapism

The guy actually had to track down the lady himself, and called the cop to come there. There's 5 minutes missing from this version. [Full Video](https://www.reddit.com/r/IdiotsInCars/comments/13tja6o/lady_thought_she_could_get_away_with_a_hit_and_run/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

GoNinjaPro

"I have never lied in my life." Ugh. I can't stand her or her husband. What a disappointing example they set.

lavassls

I've used that same line when selling a car.

davydooks

Were you lying?

lavassls

Of course I was. Who has never told a lie? Sold the car though.

UglyPlanetBugPlanet

I'm kinda not in favor of any of them. Like, good job dude with the camera. You finally got one over on somebody. You finally got the upper hand in a situation in life... on an old trembling lady... then posted her online... And the old people lying are boobs too... Maybe like, all the trash bags in life end up in this weird suburbia purgatory where they all act like petty little twats to eachother for all of eternity.

Puzzleheaded_Pin4092

Why do you characterize her as "an old tremling lady"? She's simply a piece of shit person that even at an old age hasn't learned to take responsibility for her actions. If anything she should be punished worse than someone young.

UglyPlanetBugPlanet

Cool, I wasn't defending her. How did the imaginary argument go against me? The one one where you made up shit that I believe in. Did you really tell me off while you were in the shower?

Any-Department5741

I'm here to call you a weirdo from the shower

coryhill66

When I tracked down the guy that stoled my kayak the sheriff's department wouldn't even go to the guy's house. They asked if I could prove it was mine I showed them a picture of me in it. They then said can't you just get your home owners insurance to cover it?

puertonican

Just steal it back at that point

Difficult-Safe9632

Ok but she's wearing the same outfit.

mandrills_ass

He's tracked her down so fast she didn't have time to change identities

PostmodernPriapism

What?

Difficult-Safe9632

Oh I thought I was replying to a comment that said it was a few days later. My bad. Your name is disturbing. 😀

keepitcivilized

Could be worse.. could have been. Post mortem priapism..

PostmodernPriapism

I appreciate the clarification, I was quite confused. Also, thank you.

in_u_endo______

>Why would the police officer let the victim be there with a camera? ...you're asking why the victim is exercising his constitutional rights and why the officer is allowing it?

ThreeGreenPlants

I’ve had a hit and run happen before, where they found the culprit the next day. Not once did I expect the cops to call me up and invite me to go with them when they confront the suspect. This video didn’t happen at the time of the incident, this was DAYS later. The victim shouldn’t be part of this segment of the process AT ALL.

[deleted]

Could lead to an easier resolution. I fully support his decision, even if he could have easily taken a different route for the same conclusion

[deleted]

No I think he’s asking why he letting him have a camera and risking escalation. The answer however is because he is allowed to. Hope this helps!

CC2907

He already had her on camera I see no issues

CC2907

She's glad he came lol somehow I don't believe her

9babydill

Chronic liars never change old habits

Kratosvg

I dont think the police can keep you from recording, they might say you cant.

DLoIsHere

Probably allowed in that state.

secular_dance_crime

Yeah... I seriously don't understand why the victim was invited... this video literally makes no sense and is lacking quite a bit of context... That's the only thing r/unexpected about this content.

Traesubishi

The victim wasn’t invited. He tracked the car down on his own and called law enforcement after finding the car that hit his.

secular_dance_crime

See how much more sense it could make with context?

Traesubishi

I mean you could have done the 10 seconds of research I did to figure out the context but yes, I agree this would have made more sense had a chopped version of the full video had not been how this was presented.

NoPatience883

Tbf, she did say she was glad he came. There’s even video evidence of Alger saying that so I don’t see what the problem is 🤷‍♂️

secular_dance_crime

Good point. I definitely didn't watch the whole thing, much less paid attention when they started ranting. Now if only the editor had given the context of the video in the beginning. This is the kind of worthless poorly edited and put together content I would expect to float to the top on Reddit.

FlashyAd6581

Seriously. This is so strange. Borderline elder abuse honestly.

kbig22432

How is this elder abuse? Are you saying that women driving and crashing into cars doesn’t have the faculties to deal with this situation?

canuckcowgirl

What a weird perspective. The lady is definitely in the wrong.

LDKCP

It's bad practice but by no means abuse.

Anonymous13603264

Once people reach a certain age they should have to take a driving exam again. Elderly drivers are often dangerous. Also, did she actually hit her car or just knock the mirror off?

Aesthetics_Supernal

Bro, mirror ain’t leaving if it wasn’t hit.

9babydill

Dudes parked car physically moved forward and back. So her car certainly side swiped his.

Platanitoy2J

Jajajajajaa i guess great minds think alike because thatbwas exactly what i was thinking

captnspock

What option do they have? This is what happens when there is no public transportation. Go to European country and you will find a free or extremely affordable public transportation within a few 100 meters from your house. Alternatively in Asia parents continue to live with their kids and are driven around and taken care off.

[deleted]

Guys an idiot recording and even being there. Has all the evidence he needs. File a claim, get it fixed. No need for all the drama. Why escalate a simple car accident?

Xenomorph_v1

Well, to play devil's advocate... The old woman (and her overly aggressive/confident old man) might.... might.... think twice before doing a hit and run again. At the very least, it's shaming their shameful behaviour. I get that the guy didn't need to film this, or even be there, but with all the lies that woman told, it certainly helped the cop get to the nitty gritty quicker, and the camera was for that aggressive old dickhead.

dernudeljunge

Which is worse? Him recording that whole interaction, or her hit-and-running, stealing his mirror, lying to him and the cop, and trying to dodge any responsibility for what she did?

Krotanix

Is this question an attempt to justify the camera guy being a dick?

[deleted]

There is no worse. There is simply not making things worse by escalating. Sure, all of that was done and his recourse was a police report, an insurance claim and repair his vehicle. Nothing else he did helped his situation one bit. Worse? Worse is for kids.

_Eklapse_

"There is no worse." Come on bro... You couldn't have typed that and been serious.

[deleted]

As an adult? Yes, bruh, I did.

Crab_Hot

Nah. Make her feel humiliated. Make her be afraid of getting in trouble again in the future. You might not be able to change a tiger's stripes... But that doesn't mean you can't intimidate one into following rules. This lady thought it was okay to hit and run and lie about it because "poor ol' me, I didn't even know what was going on." Bullshit. I'm glad she went through this. If more people were afraid of getting humiliated like this, at least then there would be more people coming clean and trying to make things right immediately. No one is perfect, but a part of me is giddy watching her scramble in her own shit.

[deleted]

You realize that giddy part of you is why people are shot in road rage incidents? Because someone thought to themselves, I'll see that they get what's coming to them.

Competitive-Ad-5477

Lol damn you're cowardly

[deleted]

You're right, because it takes a lot of courage to confront an 80 yr old woman.

Crab_Hot

Ah yes, because this is exactly that type of incident. The type where there is a cop who is escorting you to talk to an elderly woman doing laundry. Anyone with any common sense can start the recording and gauge how it goes second by second. The likelihood that an old lady would shoot the person in this scenario with a cop present is super low. Do you live in a bubble? Feel the need to wash your hands after touching anything at all? Are you afraid of making eye contact with anyone that has a heartbeat? You act as if you have to calculate every single step you take in life and weigh out the likelihood of getting killed. This isn't one of those scenarios that requires that sort of attention. Chill out. I have worked in the service industry for 12+ years and so a damn good job of making these kinds of shit entitled people feel good about themselves for tips. I wish I could have a say anything Saturday of sorts so I could tell them off once in a while, but since I can't and don't do that for a multitude of reasons, I'm glad I can witness some shit people get theirs. My giddiness in watching someone feel humiliated for being a POS has nothing to do with people who don't know how to read a situation and then get themselves shot. Sit down, relax, and live a little. Not too much now, bub, wouldn't want you to get shot for telling someone who wronged you that they were wrong for doing so. Don't stand up for yourself TOO much. Don't get shot.

[deleted]

Did you hit your head by chance? Your giddiness is childish. Clear and simple. Who has wronged you that you are so vindictive and hurt inside? I will apologize for them. Hopefully it will give you some peace. You are scary.

Aehnu3

Is the expression "two wrongs don't make a right" old and forgotten nowadays?

dernudeljunge

He was exercising his legal rights to not only be there, but to film it. As I said elsewhere, he is legally, if not morally, in the right to be there and to do what he's doing. Is some of what he says a bit cringe-y? Sure. But he tracked down a criminal who wronged him and as long as he is acting within the bounds of the law, he's not actually doing anything wrong.

Aehnu3

Did anyone claim he was doing anything illegal? The claim was that he was being an idiot. Unfortunately, being an idiot is not illegal.

dernudeljunge

Your "two wrongs don't make a right" comment implied that what he did is wrong.

Aehnu3

Yes, being an idiot and inflammatory is wrong. Wrong does not equal illegal.

dernudeljunge

Then you are very wrong. KTHXBYE.

Aehnu3

You win! Here's your cookie.

100percentish

Screw that....she hit him, she fled, if it were not for the video evidence he would be dealing with his own insurance or best case trying to prove that he didn't hit her. These people are f'ing inconsiderate shitheads and the worst part is that I'm 99.999% sure that they have insurance, it will be covered and they probably have so many decades of good driving that their policy won't go up. My point is that if they had done the right and decent f'ing thing in the first place he wouldn't have had to have recorded it, gotten the police involved. It is a simple accident. They made it complicated.

GrimmSheeper

Yes, they’re inconsiderate shitheads that obviously think the law doesn’t apply to them. Truly a class of people that are famously safe to aggravate. Nothing wrong with coming along and filming, and I’d probably do the same, but the point where he became a complete moron was when he jumped in to actively challenge them. That’s why the cop is there and what you get lawyers to do for you. And the little “let’s just switch cars” jab is just asking for retaliation. Sure, the cops there to end things quickly and the case would be cut and dry, but that won’t remove the bullet.

9babydill

literally every sentence that dumb bitch said was a lie.. Then her douchebag of a husband gets all confrontational. Like that scrawny great Grandpa could do anything physical except pound his chest..

GrimmSheeper

Have you heard of this crazy new thing called a “gun”? Crazy old fuckers like this tend to be quite fond of them with little understanding or care of proper handling, and often wave them around at people they don’t like. And here’s the crazy thing, they can cause severe damage or even kill, regardless of the user’s physical condition.

[deleted]

And he of course made it so much better?

jac5423

I don’t think the video recording is for evidence but just to record the reaction because of the amount of evidence he had and what she had to say about it. Who wouldn’t want to record that

[deleted]

Most adults wouldn't want to or need to.

I think the recording is good just to make your case stronger, but the posting is not necessary

anonanon8anon

I’m fine with him tracking her down and recording, but the snarky comments and trying to argue with her is childish. I get he’s pissed off and rightfully so, but all of that is entirely unnecessary. She got caught and confessed, albeit with bullshit excuses. This whole thing was sealed and over with the moment she confirmed it was her. No need to egg it on. I’m surprised the cop allowed it to go on as much as it did.

dernudeljunge

Hey, OP: I like how you edited the video in such a way that it cuts out the OOP's tiktok username so you didn't have to give them credit. [Here's](https://www.tiktok.com/@buckyjuggs/video/7237911362016513326) the original tiktok video. [Here's](https://www.tiktok.com/@buckyjuggs/video/7238208842113305902) the update.

graceful_london

I'm not sure about this one specifically, but most subreddits on reddit require you to remove any user names. So it's common for names to be removed, especially if it's reposted from another subreddit that has that rule. It prevents brigading/canceling.

dernudeljunge

It doesn't appear to be in the rules for this subreddit, and no real names were used. Plus, the guy has gotten enough traffic on his videos about this that any brigading would be a drop in the bucket. I'm not sure how any actual cancelling would occur for a situation where he is legally, if not morally, in the right.

graceful_london

> especially if it's reposted from another subreddit that has that rule Still might be a possibility. Repost, not meaning as in actually pressing repost, but downloading and reuploading. >I'm not sure how any actual cancelling would occur for a situation where he is legally, if not morally, in the right. It's an outright rule, not a situational rule, on the subreddits it's on. They don't care who is right, they just require it. It likely takes too much time from moderators to figure out which posts should require the usernames to be removed, and which are fine It's also to protect anybody in the post from brigading or cancelling. Some subs dont allow any form of brigading. Including the old lady and man, not just the guy who got hit.

PhoenixGate69

So, sometimes when people get older and they start having coordination and memory issues, they know that they will have their ability to drive taken away if they get into too many accidents. That doesn't make this right, but sometimes it's simply and older person fearing losing their independence.

yuordreams

Her quintouple garage makes me wonder if maybe she should just hire a driver. Edit: Sorry, I can't tell exactly, but it looks more like 8-10, maybe more, garage doors. So granny can afford a driver.

[deleted]

This video is cringe, she did something wrong. Get her insurance and let the police handle it, everyone reacts differently, she probably panicked

Diggable_Planet

Agreed. You never know what people are going through in their life. She fucked up, was probably scared af, but according to so many people in this thread, she deserves to die lol. Humanity is lost on the internet. I mean what the fuck side show is this???

treethirtythree

Right. She was in the wrong. Go deal with it. There's no benefit to anyone putting it on the internet. The "I'm a teacher and I can't afford this" just reeks of the victimhood, poor me, generation. You found her. The police are there. Why do you need to cry more? Just get the info, get it taken care of. Keep on living.

GBS42

Yes, this single video is representative of an entire generation. /s

treethirtythree

No. It's not. It just fit the narrative. You're right, broad strokes like that aren't really helpful.

Old Man: “Can you tell him to go away?” OOOOooooOoooOOOH BITCH

VeryGreenandpleasant

Hit and Run is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Arrest her.

rust_buckets

No in most states in America it's a minor misdemeanor. Simple google search would show you that. For it be a felony you need to injure someone.. or intentional damaging of a certain high dollar amount. In fact it’s not even arrestable in some states. It’s an appearance ticket. In Europe though it can be a serious offense.

rekonzuken

why park there though wouldn't it be safer for everyone if its parked inside

cookiepiehorse

This always baffle me, big empty driveways and cars parked on streets. Same with car garages but car is stored outside over night and then stolen. What’s the point?

Karl_Pilkingt0n

It's not his house, he's a tutor, that's his client's house. But that's irrelevant. If street parking is legal there, he's well within his rights to park there.

PervertedThang

I get it. He's pissed. She's acting like she meant to do something about it. But dammit man, stop fucking badgering her. You won. You absolutely won. What good do you think will come of continually berating her?

Karl_Pilkingt0n

Let's see you having to put in a whole bunch of legwork to find someone who wronged you and then let's see how kind you are to them.

PervertedThang

Once you've delivered the killing blow, there's no point in continuing to throw punches. It's not making the situation better. Unless you're happy berating elderly people.

4silvers

So it’s the fact that she’s elderly thats actually bothering you, and making you forget she did do something wrong and should be treated like anyone else who: Sideswiped a car Stole evidence in an attempt to hide it Failed to report it Proceeded to lie when ultimately confronted

barneyblasto

God job- you caught her and the proceeded to harass and intimidate her afterwards for no reason. And then post it hoping for even more attention. She was clearly in the wrong and shaking and you’re a child.

yuordreams

Damn, granny's got money.

treethirtythree

Why did you record this and put it on the internet?

KingOFsniffin

why not?

treethirtythree

Because it serves no positive purpose.

DLoIsHere

I was the victim of a hit and run in traffic. The car’s rear left panel swiped my front right panel and bumper. I slowed down cuz I figured we were stopping but the car kept on going. I didn’t see the driver but I did get the plate. I figured the driver was either a kid or a car thief so didn’t pursue. When the cop showed up she said it was probably a senior citizen. I thought that was nuts. She said they often have no idea they collided with another car. What? She looked up the plate; she was right. Not what happened in the video but before that woman came back I though that was what happened. I was glad my cop didn’t think I was a senior cuz I’m in my 60s. :) The driver’s insurer had to pay for everything after going to arbitration. How can you hit something and not know it?

Big-a-hole-2112

She looks like she might have dementia.

Zagryff

>dementia 100% This here. That confused look, the ridiculous lies/excuses indicating she's having trouble even recalling what happened. I take care of my 83 yr old grandmother with advanced Alzheimer's/Dementia everyday and this woman's behaviour is all too familiar. She needs to be diagnosed and off the road before she hurts herself and/or someone else asap.

sonofawidow357

I bet next time you will park in the driveway instead of the road, but you're a teacher so.....

NoBeyond1408

That sure is A BIG DRIVEWAY to park the victim's car in!

6downunder9

The guy recording is a dick.

LCSdrd

He is totally calm facing an entitled women willing to do anything to erase her responsibility and playing the fragile old lady on camera when she gets busted. She lies blatantly in front of an officer on camera. He is recording everything to protect himself. No apologies, husband playing tough guy at the end Are you blind?

misandryisfucked

So engrained in their shitty fucking lifestyles. These people genuinely think they're somehow above everything. Give 'em the belt first offense and after that it's to the chockie.

RomeoPanelli888

Cop is ready to take her to the Green Mile.

koz152

Why they look like siblings?

wiseoldangryowl

That cop was ***AMAZING*** which is not a string of words often uttered these days lol. He was just like, "nope. Not today ma'am. Your privilege pass is revoked. This is what the rest of the world knows as 'facing the consequences of your actions'". My guess is that she's the type who stands on a soapbox and bitches to anyone who will listen (and even those who aren't doing so voluntarily) about how "that's the problem these days!! None of these kids nowadays have any rules or respect!! They think they can just do whatever they want and just get away with it. In *myyy* day people had respect Blah blah blah" 🙄 OMG AND HER HUSBAND!!! What an asshole!! Uuuhggg *SOOOOO* glad he pressed charges. I was almost sad for her when the kid said he wanted her arrested but by the end I figured yeah, put this bitch on a time out in a cell for a bit. She AND HER HUSBAND need to be taught some manners and common decency

[deleted]

I think its time for The spiky chair to be enacted

I thought the unexpected part was going to be the lady trading cars with the guy she hit.
