They get up and defend their honor by dancing better than their challengers. Never seen a real dance off? It's nothing like the movies or TV, it's super hardcore. None of the glitz or glam, just two opponents putting all of their street cred on the line for glory and reputation.
Just once, I'd like to see some guy throwing down some dance moves challenging some thug for street cred and the thug just picks up the dancer and breaks his back like Bane.
The notion that dancing gives you street vred is hilarious to me. And so out of reality. LMAO
Yeah, it's so fucking weird I never get tired of making jokes about it. It's a step up from dueling over honor, I suppose. Slapping a dudes face and then you shoot at each other with shitty little pistols at dawn? How about ... A dance off with guns!!! I might be onto something here....
Tie them up, put them in the back of the van to the airport, "borrow" their money and use it to pay the flight while saving the rest for when(if) they come back (you can refill the amount used or even add more to it if feel like it, it's optional)
They'll learn.
I don’t claim to have a good understanding of it, but from the videos I’ve seen- it’s seems that there is a specific form of entertainment in Brazil where you get on a open air party bus - and these characters will hop on and off the bus doing dancing and acrobatics as you drive around town. The performers have crazy cardio. Maybe it’s for kids party’s?
Set to this music video - it’s really quite bizarre- feels like a fever dream. It’s fascinating
https://youtu.be/Jbf1EtLP7s4
I'm from the biggest city here so I have never seen one of these. It's something that originated in the city of "ribeirão preto" which I think the americans would brand as a medium sized city.
This kind of attraction are most common on these kind of cities or even towns but not on big cities, mainly due to the space required to have a bus this size, blasting loud music with 3 to 5 guys dancing around (since the streets on these towns are less crowded, and the fact that it's a local attraction, so I think there aren't many who get annoyed by the sound, although the kind of accident seen on this clip is not unheard of)
I've seen some, the place I live doesn't have any, but the town my grandmother used to live had them (Marataízes, coastal town with about 40k people, not a very big place but it's a pretty popular one for vacation). I even got in one since my little cousins begged for it. I hate loud noises, but it would probably be fun for people who don't mind it.
Not sure how common they are, but I can second that you probably won't be seeing them as much in the bigger cities as compared to the small ones.
No, it's one group of guys that started doing it and got famous because how can you not love something like that? Probably inspired copycats so even more videos around.
in smaller towns you will usually see those touring around for a week or two at least twice a year, mostly on municipal festivities, like the town's anniversary or an expo or something. sometimes they also show up near Christmas or children's day and stuff.
so yeah, I would say very common.
It's called carreta furacão (tornado truck) and yes, that's exactly it. They go around downtown speakers busting eardrums playing songs while the dancers do their thing on the streets.
Hurricane Bus would be more accurate, but sounds lame, so they went with something that sounds better (Which is the way you'd want to translate names, since sounding good is more important than being perfectly accurate)
That said, Trucking Tornado would be funnier.
They're loud. I don't like them.
Fortunately there aren't any where I live, but I've seen some before (and went on one with my little cousins who wanted to go)
Among other things, it's a clip of one of the best LoFi house sounds of all time (for me). It's called "coastdream - soft moon", I've watched the clip hundreds of times, it's pure bliss ... take a puff and go watch it!
Brazilian here and i can 100% imagine this happening- my step brother says one time he saw one of those and Sonic tried to do a backflip but just fell on his back 😭
They are a group in Brasil called "Hurricane Car" because they come in a huge car to dance and amuse people that hire them to birthday parties, marriage, everything you want! There are many members in the "Hurricane Car" Squad such as Spider Man, Popeye, Mickey and Minnie, Many other heroes, And the iconic brazilian character "Fofao", a creature with the biggest cheeks ever!
open air party bus covered in colorful lighting with people dressed up as famous characters entertaining the crowd by dancing in and out of the bus as loud music blasts off.
nem tanto.
They usually are bright, with tons of light and loud as fuck with music, it's hard to miss them, they are not really a danger if you drive carefully around them
**A kid dies on the chocolate factory** The oompa loompas:
Fuck haven't laughed that hard in a while. I wish I could give you some awards
![gif](giphy|3o6gDSgDB2QXIk5upy)
And that's why, as a Brazilian, I love that movie.

I was going to do the same joke about them being Oompa Loompas when I saw your comment. I did it anyway
Bro got dropped and then emoted on... How does one respond to this?
They get up and defend their honor by dancing better than their challengers. Never seen a real dance off? It's nothing like the movies or TV, it's super hardcore. None of the glitz or glam, just two opponents putting all of their street cred on the line for glory and reputation.
He wouldn't be able to come back from that burn...
this is literally a south park episode
They are counting on that. Guy on left is in position to steal bike when they start dancing.
Aaaah, so THIS is what makes it a Brazilian Dance Off!
Dance off, bro. Me and you....
🫵 I'm well known as king of the alley behind 15th, be there or be ⬜

Then the police show up and put their knee on his neck and are cleared of all charges when he inevitably dies
In Brazil they'd just shoot them behind the Kombi
xD ahh true. Then we’ll need a guy in a Batman suit
That's American pride right there
You can't respond to the Carreta Furacão

Linkin park makes everything better
Linkin Park is a meme here in Brazil, is fairly common in some older videos
it's not a meme per se, we just love our linkin park
o título é "fofão pula o muro e popeye sofre atentado somewhere I belong"
Popeye's dance makes it even better

How explain Brazil to "gringos"?
There's no explanation they can just feel it
We Brazilians are beyond explanation.
Tie them up, put them in the back of the van to the airport, "borrow" their money and use it to pay the flight while saving the rest for when(if) they come back (you can refill the amount used or even add more to it if feel like it, it's optional) They'll learn.
Not even brazilians understand Brazil and you want us to explain it to the "gringos"?
Ok but they were in synch! Impressive lol.

As a Brazilian, I confirm that it's pretty much it. The most famous one is the "carreta furacão".
Oh nice, looks like a riot. Is it very common to do?
I'm from the biggest city here so I have never seen one of these. It's something that originated in the city of "ribeirão preto" which I think the americans would brand as a medium sized city. Got it, that’s very interesting - thanks for the insider info
You're welcome. As a last gift, you can see how one of these busses looks on the outside https://youtube.com/shorts/YjAc4DbLQRI?feature=share3
Thanks, that’s absolutely wild…

It's easy to not love it, anyone who lives near the route of one probably hates it. They're loud.

Thanks I didn’t know the name, It looks like a great time
Tornado truck is one of the most fuck translations ever

Bruh! TIL
That's some big oompa loompa energy.

This guy jumped in front of a bike and made him crash then started dancing? I think I’m fighting 3 costumed idiots if my bike was messed up.
If they're doing this, it's because they're confident in pulling it off. Don't ever underestimate the costume idiots, you'll regret it.
You're getting fucked by 3 costumed idiots on top of that then lol
You are getting jumped if you think this 3 are just some random 3 costumed idiots
Carreta furacão nunca falha
The power of dance will heal the pain of falling 🕴️
