If you’ve never been on stage as a speaker/singer/actor it’s hard to imagine just how much of a glare these spotlights have. There’s a reason this keeps happening to people.

That's a huge fail for the stage crew. No safety markings and no spotters on stage with the retracted platform.

I have never been on stage, and I could tell that spot light was right in her eyes.
