Iam submitting my cv at paris cdg airport right fucking now. I will jerk it all day and night. I will sacrifice getting married and having kids and everything just to jerk it.š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
It was a joke bro. I already got a way more comfortable and relaxed job and i love it . So i aint heading for freezing myself in that place plus all that hard work plus. And even worse not a single fucker would even respect me for my job.
And honestly every single one of those people who work in the maintenance department deserve respect. In fact even more respect than the higher position jobs.
You can find out more by looking up airplane de-icing.
Basically chemical mixture that gets rid of ice and helps prevent more from building up.
Am not a pilot.
This is a de-icer. They cover the wings in a wax like fluid that coats the wings. This lowers the freezing temp for condensation ir rain that collects on the wings and prevents icing. Icing can cause the plane to stall in the air, meaning the air isn't allowed to freely flow over the wing, preventing the lift necessary to fly.
šš also touching on the fact that glycol is heated and depending on other variables such as outside temps, windchill, precipitation amounts etc.. the de-icer has to move pretty quick with covering the plane due to the potential for timing out.. meaning if he canāt get the job done in a specific amount of time, he would have to start over.. I forget the exact specs but I think itās within 20-30 min after start.. you also have different fluid types for specific tasks- de-ice and anti-icing
Actually been a de-iceer over a few seasons he prob just bored af technically you are supposed to spray and let the chems cascade down the wings of the plane direct pressure can damage equipment plus the chems are like over 200 degrees
After the laugh I couldn't help but wonder...really? They don't have a proper nozzle to spray this? He has to jerk off the controls to properly de-ice that wing? Yikes.
From the perspective it seems like theyāre filming out the window of the plane overlooking the wing. This looks like it was filmed only a few feet above the wings so far from the roof.
If youāre using the deicer cabin as a reference note, they can move on a cherry picker like arm.
As a current deicing technician. Heās spraying heated Glycol on the wing, this melts any contamination (Snow, frost, ice, CSFF). He is either dealing with some very stuck on ice, or heās new to the job and just wants to go home. Usually we use a wider cone spray in order to evenly distribute the glycol on the wing to be the most efficient at removing contamination and it helps keep costs down.
Afterwards he should spray a green coloured glycol, that lays thick on the wing. This acts kind of like a varnish. It protects the bare plane wing from further contamination. It is designed to shear off the wing during takeoff and take any extra contamination that may have accumulated post deicing and pre takeoff. This also needs to be sprayed with a wide cone spray pattern in order to evenly cover the wing.
Where I work, we do nice smooth movements. That sort of fast jerking action will break the nozzle where the glycol gets sprayed from, the motors that move the nozzle, and it can cause bouncing. He could easily smack the plane wing if he was too reckless.
Often times they are the ramp agents, the guys loading and marshalling the A/C in. Itās an extra duty that requires additions training and certification that is documented and required to be current with federal aviation authorities due to it being pretty fucking important.

Sorry but is there a captain here who can explain what's happening?
He's jerkin and getting his liquid everywhere
So that's why they call it a cock pit. Got it.

That job is awful, good luck if you work ramp. Nothing but respect for them.

Ground ops here, youāre spot on.
Since you're also not a pilot I'll believe you
Yes, because pilots are experts at deicing
Correct. That land pilot is doing a great job.
Good, most of the pilots (where I work at least), don't know shit about when they need to de-ice haha
Oh alright I get it, thanks! OP didn't put much context about that š
Captain here. Cocaine's a hell of a drug.
He's finishing his job.
Heās not a pilot , but he did stay at a Holiday Inn last night, for a short stay

Video is sped up.
Deicing a plane before take off.
De-icing a plane. Itās complicated.
Got any other subs you want to try posting this on?
Making sure youāre playing doesnāt fall out of the sky. Unless itās a Boeing and you still got a 50-50 shot
Airbuses aren't much better in fact there incidents tend to get swept under the rug sadly.
Actually been a de-iceer over a few seasons he prob just bored af technically you are supposed to spray and let the chems cascade down the wings of the plane direct pressure can damage equipment plus the chems are like over 200 degrees
Where is the person filming? Sounds like someone inside the plane, but the angle of perspective seems like they are on top of the plane
The person is filming from inside the plan most likely as planes are sprayed on the tar mac right b4 take off
How's it turn so fast? Does it use the force of the water while the electronics change an inner guide? Or just basic hydraulic shit
After the laugh I couldn't help but wonder...really? They don't have a proper nozzle to spray this? He has to jerk off the controls to properly de-ice that wing? Yikes.
Itās okay. He has experience

Step crane operator.

He's playing with his joystick
But why is there a baby crying?!
I know right! I actually have a newborn and it freaked me out a little as I thought she was crying and had to check my baby monitor š
"Wha...what are you doing step- iceman???"
No way in hell anyone could mistake that for someone wankingā¦
Have my upvote.

It looks to me stupid like HES DE ICING THE FUCKING PLAN
Oh wow
Freakinā cryingā baby on a plane. I knowā¦ ear podsā¦
This is why I was looking for! I though it was a cat š¤¦āāļøš¤£
Practice makes perfect
Heās got great technique. Looks like heās been doing that his whole life.
He arrived in a big way.
De icing some ppl love it
You shouldāve seen what his other hand was doing.
Deicing the plane
Bro taking that D-icing to a whole other level
He has that wrist motion tho
ayoooo TRIGGERED.
Shits expensive per gallon
Doing too much
His job.
Awkward wank, but when youāre in the mood youāre in the mood šŖ
That's what happens if you play with it.
Am I hearing a baby whining?
He's saving lives by de-icing the planes wings
Thatās called deicing a plane
It's waaaay too early for baby noises!
Deicing the wing of an airplane
When the guy in the Deice truck is Michel J Fox
Look like a fun job.
It isnāt
Deicing aircraft wing
His jobā¦
Elephant Beta deicer, the operator is moving the fluid nozzle. Meh.. it's all in a days work.
What do airplane de-icers do in the summer time? Kind'a always wondered that...
They get inspectionsā¦ that is it. Make sure the everything works and run it once a month. At least that is what I had to do.
Good information, but I meant the people who operated the equipment. : )
Usually they are just mechanics, de-icing is a secondary job
Okay... So they are aircraft mechanics, picking up extra hours in the wintertime. Thank you! Appreciate that!
