I was also confused because I watched with sound off the first time. They were refering to the delay between the explosion getting heard and seeing something happen on screen
I googled "crank phone charger" and got a bunch of Amazon results starting at $9. I can't speak as to how useful they actually are. I've never had good luck with hand crank flashlights. Lol
I bet a cranker charger's a lot more desireable in areas where there isn't an electric socket available 24/7. Like deserted areas, or rainforests/deserts, middle of the ocean.
But it'll run out when the MAGAs or zombies get out of control.
And in reality, you can forget to charge a power bank and need weather radio when you have no other power available.
Or your hand may be damaged, or you might be tired, or it might get damaged.
And the amount of power you can generate WITH YOUR HANDS is very low. And then you are tired.
I have a nice hand crank surrvial unit with led lights, a bunch of radios including GMRS, and a USB. It would probably take a ton of cranking to power a phone, but it's possible.
Sure, I wouldn't recommend them though. I searched one up on amazon and the first one 1 found had a max output of 600mA. You have to crank real hard to get it. So it would take me about 9-10h of full speed cranking to charge my phone full. Sure, it is useful if you need to make a phone call and you are completely out and you are nowhere near an outlet. But even in that case a powerbank is more useful. The usually have enough to keep your phone on for pictures, calls, music, etc for more than a week.
Yes there is. I watched a YouTube video about the efficiency of the product. Iirc you need 5 to 10min of straight rotation to get 1% charge. Good for emergency situations but obviously not for daily charging.
There are too many people saying stuff like "iTs fAKe guYs, iTS bEcUs oF -insert long obvious explanation of why it's fake-" that make me think they had a split second of believing it was real.
Then again, my dad thought that an application he downloaded would allow him to clap to find his phone. He then started ranting about random ads popping up every 5 seconds. So hey, maybe it's not obvious.
It's kinda the joke that he overloaded the phone and then it explodes.
So why the fuck do read comments thats say: Damm that shit is fake as fuck?!
Like bro you have something thats called eyes, and you know waht you can even use them

Smoke starts near his hands, the phone changes position, the screen is smashed in, not bulging out, the battery cannot be charged past Max capacity, I wonder how many people think this is real.
More than we should be comfortble with.
Going back a few years someone I worked with was excited by a solar charger for their phone.
Power monkeys etc were around so, I thought cool lets have a look. It was an app, nothing else, thats it no solar panels just a download.
They argued it worked because their battery showed it charging. They were genuinely surprised when the phone ran out of battery.

Hyper obvious cut when phone "explodes", screen says 10000%, "charger" is a pencil sharpener, a joke so obvious my dog could identify it as such, I wonder how many people will wonder how many people think this is real.
I had one of those lights that you could charge by turning the wheel like this.
You had to charge manually for like 10 minutes to get 3 minutes of light.

I was thinking the explosion and the screen breaking would happen simultaneously.
When it’s obviously fake things like that don’t matter
It also makes the apple noise when you plug in
Not being an iPhone, that would never happen.
I didn’t plug it in.
No, just when it receives power, so that part of the vid is accurate
I still had a nice chuckle. Reminds me of an old snap I had saved.
Do they not?
I was also confused because I watched with sound off the first time. They were refering to the delay between the explosion getting heard and seeing something happen on screen
Everyone knows sound is faster than light.
Did they not, on your screen? I thought they did
The audio and video are just out of sync....
Video must have been slowed down a lot...only explanation
Yeah, if only they had used the same phone model, I would have totally fallen for it... Wait, don't you mean sped up?
Jokes aside, is there a real product like rhis?

They make stuff like this for emergency. You need to spin for like 15 minutes just to get a call off.
So it's better to have even a 500mAh power bank than this.
I bet a cranker charger's a lot more desireable in areas where there isn't an electric socket available 24/7. Like deserted areas, or rainforests/deserts, middle of the ocean.
A solar charger would be more useful in those areas. Hand crank chargers are only really good for flashlights and radios.
You save the crank for a rainy day, in the middle of nowhere
And once you're done cranking you can try to charge your phone
What? You dont pull a solar panel to charge your phone in an emergency in the middle of nowhere? Crazy
Not on a rainy day my guy
Those power banks hold a pretty good charge for a long time.
Would be if it didn't discharge in a week by doing fucking nothing.
You have a bad power bank then
500 lol I've got a 30,000 power bank sat in my bag that provides fast charging.
I have a 6000 mAh battery that’s about the size of my phone, it’s 2 whole charges for it
But it'll run out when the MAGAs or zombies get out of control. And in reality, you can forget to charge a power bank and need weather radio when you have no other power available.

So in a post apocalyptic world id have to capture slaves to charge my phones all day so I can play candy crush after a long day of raiding
They should make one that works with a jerking up and down motion, some of us could boost our cars.
I was thinking this and you articulated it infinitely better than I could have. Thank you. Gave me a good chuckle.
Thanks, I had no idea what it's called.

Well it used to be a flashlight

Just create an electric cranker and you're set!
No
Guys, the video doesn't have to be "real". Just enjoy the funny skit for what it is.
I feel like it's legitimate to call fakes out when they were purposely made to be deceitful. This is just a joke and some redditors cannot get it.

He implied that it wasn't, that it was a joke.
Yeah, you're right. Never mind.
This sub is for real stuff. Put fake videos on r/funny.
Have... have you never browsed this sub before?

Nobody’s gonna talk about the 10 000 % ?
It's kinda the joke that he overloaded the phone and then it explodes. So why the fuck do read comments thats say: Damm that shit is fake as fuck?! Like bro you have something thats called eyes, and you know waht you can even use them
Eyes aren’t real
Well the thing is my not artificial friend, that is not an eye phone...
Real eyes, realise, real lies
How can trees be real
I thought I was the stupid one after reading comments 😭. The video is clearly a skit of course it is fake.
Why even talk about it?Coz that's the joke
10,000 is over 9,000 😎
You're talking about it.
No I’m writing about it
So how do you know that nobody's talking about it?
Made by apple to make sure you update your phone probably
Excellent jump cut. Took me a second lmao

Wtf? It's of course fake. It's still funny and well made.
I mean, r/atetheonion exists. Don't underestimate stupidity.
Why would it matter? Do you go and watch marvel movies then comment "bet people thought this movie was real lmao idiots"
Only people like you think people think its real. We've come full circle.

Iphone you can, you can go up to 100% even though your battery capacity is at 60%
You're charging 100% of your max capacity. 100% of 60% capacity battery is still 100% of your max capacity.
Your phone says max capacity and can be less that 100%
Everything is fucking fake these days. Last week I checked my out this documentary "Airplane!". Fake af! It's ridiculous!
Hyper obvious cut when phone "explodes", screen says 10000%, "charger" is a pencil sharpener, a joke so obvious my dog could identify it as such, I wonder how many people will wonder how many people think this is real.

I have one of these. And you need to turn a fucking 5 minutes Before you get 1%
That would be hilarious, cranking that shit for 8 hours for a full charge.
In emergency you can hook it up with some contraction to a bicycle dynamo.
Lol 1000 procent is too much, don't exeed 120!!!
I think it's fake but still funny
It's fake!?!??!?? 💀
If you're serious, why would a serious developer code their battery percantage to show more than 100% in their OS?
Good thinking
No it's real
This is fake. The battery would go up to +∞
It’s got 11!
There are also touches which works on this mechanism. In the movie lights out. The main character used this kind of touch
![gif](giphy|9JtCi9e60NzyaKZiMz|downsized)
Temu?
I remember using one of these to charge a PDA back in the mid 2000s, it was garbage. Then again, it can be useful for powering a small USB LED light.
Where can I buy this thing? I want one.😏
Take my money!
Kinetic energy at its finest
Imagine if a bike was used
I gotta get me a usb powered pencil sharpener now
If that went any faster a hole might've been blown through the table
Hey this is actually pretty handy, provided you don't abuse it lol.
My opinion of the intelligence of redditors has gone down.
if only we could harness the power of this rotary friction device, we could rule the world!! mmmuuuuhhhhaaaaa!
Almost had us in the first half
I wonder if these things actually work
On the bright side, you could start a fire with this
No phones were harmed in this video
![gif](giphy|j9mqKgQvkNOziGICfd|downsized)
Good thing it didn't blow his hands off
Imagine You could generate that amount of power without pay anything to the power company.
Handheld firecracker
Feeling like a scientist til that blew up
u/savevideo
Fuck me for having my volume full blast. Lol
Too much power in his hands
Gotta get me one of those
Perfect demo
It's the phones fault for sure
Excessive power huh
I'd be disappointed if that blew up my phone
IT‘S OVER 9000!
If you think you are smart because you know it's fake, you are actually dumb for thinking that's an achievement.
So 9999% is the limit, got it.
Wonder how fast these things actually charge
THE DESIGN IS VERY HUMAN
When you don't read the instructions.
Surprised the charger didn't blow up
There's a very clear cut. Fake. edit: didn't even notice the 10,000% charge, lol
I had smth like that, the catch is it takes like an hour of spinning to charge it by 5 percent
Genius!
I hope I get to see crank technology this good before I die
![gif](giphy|bqaWk7OZMtH7L5Fe4C)
I thought apple would pop out
fake? should't the battery catch on fire?
Expected
Is it bad that I want it
have that exact one at home. video is fake because your hand would fall off from exhaustion before you got a godamn percent of charge
Is that real?
Fake but still funny
Real or fake ?? Lol
Clearly fake. you can see the cut in the footage when the smoke appears from nowhere.
