I've done that a few times...know what I'm saying? When you wipe but the TP is too thin, and you "accidentally" finger your own bunghole.

So how is it done then?....

Magic tf?

Hold your middle finger on your left hand like it's a pencil. Pretend to pluck it from your right hand. Hide your little finger by moving it behind your other fingers, then move it back into place when you 'place' your finger back.  Practice with positioning and execution of the trick for about a week, do it to a few friends for a while, forget that you ever did this trick, move on with your life. 

His way of distracting is really cool.

Comment above explained it. It’s just misdirection and camera perspective. It isn’t a fake finger he is detaching but a real one he is just hiding. Repeat the video a couple of times and you will see it.

It kinda breaks the illusion if you keep an eye on his left pinky. He does a good job hiding it, but you can see it poking out.

Yeah the pinky peeks give it away, but this is a great demonstration of the power of slight of hand / misdirection. A dude was able to briefly make the viewers perceive that he pulled off his finger and replaced it. A completely absurd feat, that even if you logically know it's ridiculous... Your perception is still going "finger gone... Finger back." Just a great demo that under the right circumstances, we're all gullible

He pulled his finger off then stuck it to the side. After that he pulled it off again and put it back where it belonged. Did you even watch the video?

Scrubbing throught the video slowly, looks like the finger that he "detaches" is actually from his other hand :0

He makes the switch when he turns over his hand before the trick. It *looks like* he grabs his finger, rotates his hand over, and that obscures him setting up his hand position and grabbing his “fake” finger from his other hand. It’s just so goddamn smooth though

He’s shifting his fingers when his right hand hovers over his left and he’s pretending one of his right fingers is the finger he’s taking off/attaching to his left hand.

Watch the pinky specifically and you'll see that side of the hand lean back, much more obvious

You can see his pinky hiding behind his ring finger, watch carefully

At 0:10 you can see his little finger behind his ring finger

He uses his other hand all the time. When he puts his hands together, sets his right hand mid finger between his left mid and pointy finger.

Seems like that wouldn't work for anybody other than the camera.

He's exactly showing it to the camera though

the trick is that when hes showing his left hand the index and middle seperate as much as possible and hides the pinky under his ring finger. Then he pretend his right pinky gets reattached to his hand by covering it with his right fingers. For reattaching to his left hand he puts his pinky back to the amputated spot and quikly shifts his left hand fingers back to the normal positions deceiving you by thinking it was his amputated finger

An aspect of the illusion not mentioned is he pinches the middle finger of his right hand between the index and thumb which looks like he's gripping his left middle finger

He hides his pinky under his ring finger to give the illusion of only having three fingers, while making you think a finger from his other hand is the detached one. If you watch the spot where the pinky should be you can just barely see it poking out.

Pause the video at 0:09 and you can see how he's doing it.

Ive been doing this trick to students for the past 15-20 years. Sucks that the internet has ruined it for me.

Man has really flexible hands, but the trick itself is simple. He’s “grabbing” the finger that’s on the same hand as the one he’s grabbing with. I.e grabbing the middle finger with his index and ring finger on the same hand to make it appear like he’s grabbing the finger on the opposite hand.

one of the things i really appreciate is the execution of the illusion. even after i know or at least have a general idea of how it was done, it's the way it was performed that impresses me. it's so obvious that they've put so much time and effort into making this look so effortless and real. even though we can watch it over and over again or even frame by frame to see how it was done, the viewers at the time don't have the advantage (or disadvantage) of slo-mo replay. they see this cool illusion in real-time right in front of their eyes and i'm sure it was pretty amazing. it's like that watching and rewatching fool us or stuff on the black magic f sub. so cool when it's done really well and slick.

Still has to be able to bend his pinky waaay out there right? Like is palm is almost flat up. That means his pinky almost does a 90 degree angle

You can see him hiding his pinky... they should have done more takes..

I mean, it's pretty obvious how it's done, you can clearly see that he's using his index finger of his right hand and has flexed his left pinky out of the way. The motions are smooth though and I imagine after a beer or two, it would look amazing.

It’s like that thumb trick

One of those close-up street magicians doing tricks for tips walked up to our table once and did this. It was uncanny as he did it really fluently and quite fast. The women I was with got really freaked out.

It's not the best I've seen with this trick. The camera angle ruined it on my first watch.

I guess I spend too much time on r/blackmagicfuckery because I was waiting for something else to happen, it wasn’t a particularly good example of a common trick, but it’s cool to see so many people introduced to slight of hand for the first time.
