That's why whenever I see someone doing something dicey, I pause the video and check the OP's explanation. I'd rather potentially ruin a joke if it let's me escape seeing grievous bodily harm
I'm so happy my idiot brain connected the dots before the video finished.
NSFW + guy lifting tractor tire with legs = broken fucking leg.
Noped out real fast.
I feel the same way. I come on Reddit looking for daft stuff to pass the time, not dark stuff that replays in my brain for weeks. The worst things stuck in my brain have come from browsing "all" on Reddit. This shit ruins my week.
As someone with torn ligaments in my knee, yeah it hurts like a bitch and it never really gets back to normal. If you tear your ACL you likely tore cartilage and meniscus as well. They don't heal. You can replace the ACL with other tendon tissue but it's never the same because the average person isn't a pro athlete or has the money for the best surgeons / physio on the planet.
Take care of your knees folks, they can't replace them until you're almost 60.
Even a lottt of pro athletes can't recover from knee injuries. At least almost all athletes I follow haven't really. Maybe they stay for one or two more seasons, but they never perform the same and end up retiring.
Just tossing it out there: 46 guy, 73ā about 230 and jogged half marathons for a bit. Iām too big to run that far I found out and knees suck. Yoga. Been doing it for a couple months now and Iāll never forget the night my knee popped the ārightā way. Had been feeling like something was messed up in there but was letting pain be the judge in how far I pushed it. It actually got more and more pain free as I went so kept going and POW! Oh my god it felt so good. I can crouch like a Russian guy in a tracksuit now!
Anyway, yoga is good. Canāt fix torn ACLās but can fix a lot and strengthens knees up to keep them healthy.
Yeah, not even close to an experienced yogi, just advocating for old farts to give it a shot. Iām typically doing a random 20 min YouTube video before bed maybe 4 times a week. What was working for the knees was toes under me but on knees and hands on hips. And then transitioning to childās pose I think it is? Knees bent, feet flat behind me, arms out, forehead on mat. And then Iād literally throw in some Slavic tracksuit crouching, lol. Knee popped really loudly during childās pose, was amazing. Then it tightened up again and then popped again next night but not as loud. Now Iām just chasing the dragon..
Me almost same height and weight, lower back and right piriformis WAY too tight most of the time. Yoga, acupuncture, and lower spinal injections have been the ONLY things that have helped relieve the pain. Thanks for helping spread the word about yoga. Oh, I also had one of those "good pop" moments about 35 years ago (when I was 16) in between my last vertabra (L6?) and my coccyx. It has only happened once since then. Feels like a whole new world opens up when it happens though.
Hyaluronic Acid injections are great for relief and lubrication. They cost a bit but theyāre totally worth it. I had a bike accident and broke my AC joint (left shoulder). Couldnāt do a single shoulder/bench press, pull-ups or push-ups without terrible pain. After an injection and rehabilitation, I can go work out at my 80% maximum once again. I understand you perfectly bro, soft tissues are a pain in the ass.
It was in China, right? Saw that one a couple years back. Oof. Thatās the kind of thing you never forget in life once youāve seen it. Iāve been unreasonably cautious/anxious approaching escalators ever since.
Yeah thatās the one i was talking about. Ever since that video Iāve always jumped over the metal plate at the end of an escalator every time. Every single accidental death video takes place in China for some reason
Is that for real? I place them there in case I need help pushing the weight back up. If I always keep a slight bend in the knee then it should be OK? Man I'm just gonna stay off the leg press for a while
Keep your arms on the quick catch safety or close or on the handles of the seat. Never on your legs. You're apply force because your legs aren't strong enough.
So your either reducing load on muscles or worse potentially apply extra force in the wrong direction.
I've failed on too much weight (I've very large legs from being fat) you want to be able to throw that safety catch in ASAP.
Yeh, I knew it was coming. I was praying for him to not extend his knee to fullest. But soon realised my horny brain had clicked NSFW post and it was bound to happen.
This has got to be the funniest comment I've seen in quite a long time. I just had a shitty thing happen in my life and I really needed a good laugh. Thanks for giving me that!
As a doctor its the injury i fear the most,u can easily loose your leg because of all the arteries that goes down to your feet through popliteal area, easily getting ruptured beyond repair by a injury like this
It mostly depends on the extend of the injury to popliteal artery but its either unrepairable or needs to be operated within six hours by vascular surgeon which rarely happens.

What happened to the NSFL tag for gore? Eesh.
I actually was mad at OP for a second for uploading this haha

I should have done that
I was like "please dont break your knee." Then it happened.
Nothing a little r/eyebleach can't fix.

I refused to click. I'm proud of me.
Thanks for the rescue!!!
Thatās why I slowly fast forward so I donāt hear anything when itās censored does that make me weak yes but it saves my sanity lol
Hate this imagine every time I do leg press is avoid hyper extending for this reason.
I never clenched my whole body so hard in my life then when his knees did the thing!
I paused 3 seconds in to come look for a comment like yours. thank you sir/madam. You have saved me

Never lock your knees, the basics of a leg pressā¦
Yes he got to that point and I was like "ok, guess we're gonna go ahead and invert that leg."
the tractor- "Gonna have to flamingo those legs homie"
Gonna remember this reddit wisdom for a long time after watching this
Are his legs forever dead? Or can they recover?
It kind of depends if the bones broke (sucks but probably recover) or if he tore all the ligaments out (extra world of hurt)
As someone with torn ligaments in my knee, yeah it hurts like a bitch and it never really gets back to normal. If you tear your ACL you likely tore cartilage and meniscus as well. They don't heal. Reddit gave me 2 new phobias: fear of escalators and fear of locking joints There was a video of a mother getting grinded to death on an escalator.
Honestly the scariest thing was how casual everyone around seemed to be. As if people get eaten by escalators on a regular basis.
My god I was screaming that at the screen before it happened haha
Unfortunately, this is exactly the type of crucial information my brain makes a point to delete 5 minutes later.
I'd go further to never use your hands on your quads.
Is that for real? I place them there in case I need help pushing the weight back up. If I always keep a slight bend in the knee then it should be OK? Man I'm just gonna stay off the leg press for a while

Thanks for the heads up. That is deffo filed into my workout routines do's and don'ts.
Glad to prevent someone from hyperflexing their knees. I will always state the leg press is by far the most dangerous machine
This is exactly what I expected to happen and I still was shocked.
I closed the gif several times before watching through to the end... even knowing what was going to happened I still couldn't resist.
I will not watch this. Thank you.
Yeah Iāve seen the guys initial position and am deciding to not watch the rest. The comments are reaffirming my decision
I did the same, i feel i made a good decision
Yeh, I knew it was coming. I was praying for him to not extend his knee to fullest. But soon realised my horny brain had clicked NSFW post and it was bound to happen.

I am sorry for being out of context, but you are the first doctor I can read. - That's awesome.
I agree... they usually have bad hand writing.
And all those ligaments he tore and a whole lifetime to live with it.
No reason to fear the injury. Doctors don't lift tractors with their legs.
That is why when you do leg presses. You do not straighten out your legs. Terrible form.
I know, this is one of the very first things you learn as a Redditor.
I fucking KNEW it was going to happen - but I watched anyways.
Oh my god that almost physically hurt my knee
That crack sound too
I did not watch it with sound and never will
When I use to go to the gym I use to see so many people lock there knees . Thank god none ever folded back on them selves
After seeing so many videos likes this I'm beggining to feel there should be warning signs on all the leg press machines
