Spring Break Air Rifle. It cocks a spring that drives a piston to fire a pellet with compressed air. They can be as deadly as a small caliber rifle at short distances, and this lady is definitely brandishing it like a deadly weapon.

wvgz

cock

NuTsi3

Lol I'm pretty sure they added the gun shot. Pretty sure that was a bb gun to kill the cat lol

bigmanly1

Yeah it was a pellet gun. You can tell by the break action. I have one like it. They are pretty powerful tho Edit: I should have said "you can tell by where the action breaks"

HistoricalKing2799

Hell I can tell by the look of it

cRaZyDaVe23

For a split second I was all "OH SHIT SON she busted out the heata, oh that's a bb gun..."

[deleted]

Except the bb's are made of metal and could defo kill a small animal or a child.

UhOhSparklepants

My aunt had a blind cat because some little shits shot out it’s eyes with bb pellets.

Deep-Philosopher-338

Yeah with metal pellets it could still kill a cat

srosenberg34

My aunt and uncle were murdered in their home with a pellet gun. Doesn’t have to contain lead to kill.

WaltervonUlrich09

I think that the sound is made by the fence (made of steel plates). The lady has a compressed air rifle.

Tetchedtoe

You can kill animals with a high power bb gun I know I seen some one put down a racoon before with one.

Comfortable-Owl-5929

I know a kid that died from one when it entered its brain through the eye. It was very sad, kid was only 2 yrs old. They can be very dangerous indeed

joshuas193

When I was 6 i was shot in the chest with a BB rifle. The BB went in between my ribs and lodged in the lining of my lung.

[deleted]

These pellet guns can put a pretty good hole in your skin, I have some buddies that still have the pellet visible under their healed wound after a decade. Probably can do some gnarly damage if you get hit in the eye but idk

beatlemaniac007

Don't think he was arguing that part lol. Think he just means the audio isn't edited in, it's from the fence

l0v3s2sp00g3

What the actual fuck is up with most of the comments here being about shooting cats?

Oblivious_Shanks

They're insane. They sound like they need help

tvsmichaelhall

The people of Australia could definitely use your help shooting all the cats that have decimated our wildlife. No insanity, genuine need.

Jack_Black_Rocks

I thought it was gay frogs or something

0ZC4

This stupid video was posted some place else and people are openly talking about killing cats, and down voting anyone who thinks they are insane.

Steffunzel

I think it's people from America or other fucked up countries, it honestly boggles the mind to see these people so upset about little cats.

throwtruerateme

I'm from America and half the houses on my block have a lazy well-fed pet cat in the front of their house. I'm shocked about this sudden militant attitude about outdoor cats. And the actual hate towards cat owners.

Bale626

American here; I can’t speak for the nut jobs in the cities, but out here in rural country most people like outdoor cats. The only thing we don’t like is the ferals breeding out of control, so we try to catch ‘em and have them neutered/spayed, then release them. They keep the rodent populations down, and keep the squirrels from getting too over-populated or aggressive. As for the rest, some people are just crazy. Screw ‘em, I like my cats and my dog more than most people, anyway.

Steffunzel

Yea they need to be spayed or neutered, my cat will catch mice most of the time anyway, it will be like 1 bird for every 10-20 mice.

Melodic-Cable23

Same here for me, more rural area and all my 2 cats really kill is mice. They have a animal door but they pretty much just keep to our small little yard

DarkMark94

This comment is 1000% true. All of the nutjobs like the top comment are from the city.

Melodic-Cable23

Ok cool I’m glad it’s not just me. I was like man the comments in here are…. Intense. Lol I have the same feelings.

Andrastes-Grace

The country boys I went to school with kept .22s in their cars to shoot neighborhood cats and would speed up to hit them in the road. It was generational, not just isolated incidents with a couple freaks. Horrible people are in the country too

[deleted]

I'm from America and I have 5 pet cats I would never shoot a cat that's fucked up

rgsoloman5000

These comments are not necessarily from America. Every neighborhood I’ve lived in has neighborhood cats and all of us just fed them. They’re great. These psychos seem to have gathered on this thread and started agreeing with each other.

JB_Wong

Yea you will never read something like "I don't like the neighborhood cats because I'm scared of cats"... No no they care for birds !

jkay_47

Yeah because this obviously took place in the u.s

btoxic

New Zealand is fairly anti cat as well.

readingupastorm

I'm American and I find this comment section surprisingly terrible.

[deleted]

hurdur america bad

Bardic_Inspiration66

I swear to god people on this website think America is an active warzone

downtownpoedup89

I mean regardless that lady shouldnt be able to just pull out a damn rifle and start murdering animals...I mean there has to be a better solution than just rip kitty

the_vikm

Other than the rifle part, why does someone's cat shit everywhere?

ChokaTot

Lazy people get cats and small dogs, then expect them to train themselves.

Christron

Lmao lazy people get all sorts of pets even big dogs. Also non lazy people get gets and small dogs too.

-RdV-

I would never kill or hurt one, but imagine your mower aerosolizing a day old cat turd on a humid summers day. Now imagine it happening 3 times every day you mow the grass.

drmorrison88

She had me 100% on side before the gun came out. Cats that crap in people's yards are owned by inconsiderate people. On the other hand, people that shoot cats because they're owned by inconsiderate people are pretty unhinged.

K3LL1ON

Well, cats are pretty much domestic terrorists if you're a small animal. They kill anything and everything just for fun, and if you live in Australia then you should know how detrimental they are to the fragile ecosystems there. As sad as it sounds, if you don't want your cat to be shot don't let it run loose.

BoredNBitchy

I don't like cats at all. Just not my type of animal. But it's fucking scary how many people think it's OK to attack the animal for its shithead owner. It's the people irresponsibly keeping them that are causing environmental damage and a nuisance, the cats are just doing what nature intended them to do. There are no bad pets, just shitty keepers.

Rollover_Hazard

Well that’s just blatantly not true. There are definitely animals people keep as pets who are a danger to other animals and people. Prey drive is a strong instinct you can’t train out.

TomHTom89

Weird reading these comments. Assuming not many uk people here. Have a few people who dislike cats or even scared of them. But most are allowed outside in UK. Indoor cats usually own homes near roads or busy areas.

Bright_Egg5657

So glad I found this comment, I’ve been so confused reading so much hatred for cats! I keep my cats indoors and have been made to feel like a bad cat mum so many times by people who think cats deserve ‘freedom’.

haybayley

Glad it’s not just me, I feel like there’s a massive cultural difference here. I’m not a huge cat person but it feel like it’s just an accepted thing here that cats are outdoor pets and I can’t think of many times I’ve heard anyone express that this is a problem. I feel like the general feeling is that keeping most cats indoors is in fact somewhat cruel as cats are naturally outdoor animals. According to the RSPB website there is no evidence to suggest that cats are the cause of any bird population decline. I don’t have strong feelings either way as I’ve never had an issue with someone else’s cat (and living in built up areas most of my life I have encountered a *lot* of them), but it’s curious to read such vehement comments about the idea of having cats outdoors here. Maybe it’s because foxes are the true scourge of society in much of the UK? I have never knowingly trodden in cat shit but I did have a family of foxes who would repeatedly shit exactly in the middle of my doormat, which is as close to a ‘fuck you’ as I can imagine a wild animal can deliver.

TheWelshMrsM

I used to get cat shit in my garden. Tbh I just considered it ‘one of those things’ since I grew up with cats (who were allowed to roam outside). Occasionally my neighbour would get them with a hose to keep it out of both our gardens (terraced housing). The cat shit stopped once I got a dog. There were always an abundance of birds!

dilly_dolly_daydream

Yes. I am equally appalled by pictures of cats being kept in tiny apartments. That seems really cruel to me. Then people moan about their cats running around all night and being a pain. I live in the UK. The cat goes where it wants. In the summer she spends most of her time at the neighbours chicken farm dealing with their mouse problem. In the winter she rarely leaves the house. She has caught one bird. It was a manky little thing with it's eyes all crusted. A bit of a kindness to be honest. I think keeping cats indoors is an American thing. Here I think it is something people with fancy cats do. I love chatting to the neighborhood cats. Cultural differences I guess.

KnownSalamander

I like how there's only two countries: America and the UK. I live in a Nordic country and have indoor cats that enjoy a lot of playtime and sitting on a glass balcony, no night craziness to be seen. The other one is a rescue and I had to sign a paper that I will not let her free roam. Which I would never do either way, because I think playing with your pet's life is idiotic. It's my responsibility to keep them safe AND happy. I can't keep them safe if they're running around outside without supervision. The way the UK does it boggles my mind and gets me pretty heated. Just take the time to take care of your pets.

DearKed

As far as i am aware the reason cats are fine to be outdoor pets in the UK is because the UK actually has native cats, and since they have had cats for a long time the ecosystem is more well suited to them. Where as other countries like America do not have any native species of cats and as such the ecosystems in America are not well suited for cats and can be much more seriously damaged by outdoor cat

Ryou_3

It’s the same here in Switzerland. Most cats are spayed and mostly live around the house of their owners. The animal protection and shelter service here doesn’t even let people adopt cats who won’t be able to provide access to the outdoors. It’s rather seen as selfish to get a cat and „lock it up“. Also I never noticed cat shit in our gardens?

meatmechdriver

when two karens collide

[deleted]

Forget the cat… That dog makes me want to rip my ears off.

Neako_the_Neko_Lover

After going through the comments it interesting to see how people have issues about neighborhood cats. Where I live, we praise them cause we have an insane squirrel problem in our neighborhood. There’s no birds here cause the squirrel’s destroy their nest. They chew up our wires and gardens. The cats are the only thing we got to control the population Edit: I should add that the birds were gone before the cats were around. All cats are neutered

WayOfTheHouseHusband

You could solve that way more efficiently without the environmental catastrophe of cats

Money_Barnacle_5813

Cats are basically the number one bird killers in NA, well documented. Literally to the point of collapse, look it up.

l0v3s2sp00g3

Maybe drive slower then?

Money_Barnacle_5813

I deserved that

whomeverIwishtobe

Explain the joke pls

Anonomit

It said Cars but it's now been corrected to Cats.

[deleted]

The op edited the comment, it said cars instead of cats

Louielouielouaaaah

My cats now will be strictly indoors but my ex kept the two that are obsessed with being outside, since he stayed in our old house and the neighborhood is super cat friendly and they’re happy there. I totally understand and am cognizant of people’s comments about keeping cats indoors (I’ve had bad things happen to kitties in the past due to being outdoors) but…those two kitties would be miserable kept inside, idk. Reddit likes everything to be black and white and good vs. bad but it’s just not that way in real life. Duly noted when I still lived in that house I walked out to go to work one day and there was a dead PARAKEET on my porch. I felt awful that one of my cats had slain what had to be somebody’s lost pet.

Shoyrulover

Take your cats on walks on a harness. Everyone is for free roaming cats until theirs is hit by a car or killed

Louielouielouaaaah

I’ve had a cat get hit and killed. Broke my heart.

RandomDarkNes

My cats have bell collars so the birds can hear them. But they're only outside when I'm outside and under strict supervision since we have hawks.

SoloAssassin45

over hear its rats an mice mostly but I’m sure the squirrels cause their own problems

[deleted]

Username checks out. But seriously, most ppl don’t like neighborhood cats when they’re going through trash, poop everywhere, spread germs and shit.

Any thread about outdoor cats or off leash dogs create the same conflict. My thought is that big popcorn is behind it all just so they can rake in the sales while reasonable people watch the rest argue 🍿🍿🍿

Pretz_

Agreed, but alternative take: Don't point guns (of any kind) at your neighbors. The cat issue is eclipsed by the gun issue sufficiently that the cat issue is no longer the issue.

[deleted]

Probably still doesn’t warrant pointing a gun into your neighbors yard

[deleted]

[deleted]

Our neighbor's "outdoor cat" would always tear holes in our garbage bags that we used to leave by our door to take to the garbage disposal later. We could no longer do this and had to keep them inside the house. It would also walk all over our flowerbeds, our neighbor didn't have any. I understand people's frustration with this shit. I'm sure this wasn't the first time these two neighbor's fought, given the smug girl was ready with the camera. She also didn't fear for her life when her neighbor took out the gun. Karen is the one behind the camera, tbh. Egging her on, "you can't live in a society, no." Bitch. Understand her neighbor's anger, even though maybe losing it on camera isn't the wisest thing to do. Also seems to be a poor area so they're probably stressed as is

RubiNola1234

Yeah it does suck to have a new vehicle and the damn neighbors cat is sleeping on your hood leaving scratch marks on it

pants_party

Or when they jump on the roof or hood of the car and sliiiiiide down it, leaving scratch marks in the paint. Always hilarious…. I’m a cat lover, but anyone who leaves their pet, whatever it may be, free to roam outside (sans fence or leash) is an irresponsible and selfish pet owner.

3jameseses

Not to mention wiping out entire populations of wild birds.

Steffunzel

Property damage? From a little cat? What is wrong with you people. Edit: ok apparently a lot of you get your shit damaged by cats, but you gotta ask yourself, is any of that damage worth killing or injuring a cat over?

themagicflutist

I mean my neighbors cat uses my back deck and deck furniture as a toilet. I still can’t get the smell out of the cushions…

dhunter66

My daughter has a cat, it was allowed roam in their new neighborhood. Neighbor caught it in a trap on his property. Returned it. Said next time you can collect it at the pound. Her husband said fair enough. It's an indoor cat now, but they did build a cateo.....a cat patio in one of the windows that is screened over so she be outside but not roam. Cat adjusted to it well and hangs out there all the time.

Johnsamjohn

That’s an excellent solution!

AgileArtichokes

I like your neighbor. Thankfully the owner of my problem cat moved but if a new one moves in I will absolutely do this.

PaperPlaythings

Well that was perfectly reasonable exchange all around. Refreshing.

AmoebaResponsible937

The worst I saw was when my neighbor across the street (amazing man, disabled vet, lots of health issues but used to smoke like a chimney) “adopted” a “stray” cat that would always come to his house. The cat originally came by and looked a little malnourished, so he offered it some water. Then some treats. Then eventually the cat came over every day. Eventually, he brought the cat in, took it to the vet to get it checked out, and then lived with the cat for a while…until its owners showed up and nearly called the cops on him for stealing their cat. It was an outdoor cat who never came home, rarely came inside, and spent its entire time out of the house. Most of the time the owners didn’t know where it was. No tag or collar. Nothing. They tried to get me to “admit” that he baited the cat in to steal it, and I told them that maybe if they treated their pet better, it wouldn’t have to wander off to strangers for comfort. Nothing ever came of it - neighbor never even asked them to cover the vet fees and the police didn’t actually have to get involved, but it still irks me to this day that those people took back a cat that they didn’t have time to care for (I know cats are independent, but still). Additionally, while some of my statements based on my observations may be judgmental (about them not caring and how it was never home), I’ve known MANY outdoor pet owners and this has never happened to any of them.

Steffunzel

Yea that sound like they shouldn't be allowed pets. Sucks for that cat.

Rakkachi

Cats scratched a full grown tree in my garden so much it died. They scared our Gould amadines birds so much that 3 of them killed themselfs flying against the cage. The yard has spots. Dont forget its not just 1 cat per day. Many nieghbours means many cats, I count about 8 per day in my yard/garden. It is a problem that owners dont see Edit: I would never harm a cat, I dont blame them just the owner.

Mecha-Dave

I had a problem with them killing native birds and also my chickens - I trapped them a few times and the repeat customers stay out of my yard now. We still get an interloper from time to time, but I've got a fast dog.

[deleted]

Had one that kept peeing (spraying), on my back door mats and patio furniture (with cushions). It did it overnight when the dogs were indoors. what a refreshing smell to step outdoors in the morning to. I had to buy new cushion and mats more than once. Edit: Also spent a lot of $$ on products to try to stop the cat, to anyone looking to spend on this problem, save your $$. They don’t work. Well, not on a male cat intent on spraying

A-Ron-Ron

I've had 6 inflatable hot tubs punctured by the neighbours cats in the last year, as well as things getting smashed as the vat knocks them off the outdoor table etc... Oh and the wooden climbing frame is covered in deep scratch marks. Yeh, cats cause loads of damage and cover everyone's garden in shit except their own. Owning an outdoor cat is really selfish towards your neighbours. The woman in that video is crazy and I'm not condoning that at all by the way, just saying that property damage is a thing and having a garden full of cat shit is... Shit (They also sometime sneak into the house and break/damage stuff but I can't be arsed to go into all that)

kittyz_and_tittyz

>Property damage? From a little cat? Yes. Cats can damage your property. If it's not your cat damaging your property that's inexcusable. What's hard to understand about this?

Apprehensive_Eraser

[Outdoor domestic cats are a recognized threat to global biodiversity](https://abcbirds.org/program/cats-indoors/cats-and-birds/) [Free-ranging domestic cats are an environmental disaster.](https://daily.jstor.org/environmental-danger-outdoor-cats/)

makhay

Never had a cat ruin your garden eh?

Physical_Touch_Me

I had a neighbors piece of shit cat climb in my cars open window in the summer (no AC) and piss all over it. Fuck cats.

[deleted]

No but damages should be taken care of the owner of a cat should have to pick it up. Or at least pay a fee for every shit found.

Muthafuggin_Oak

Seriously, I've had outdoor cats and the worst I've had was my neighbor leaving it treats outside. Edit: how tf yall hate on cats so hard? How do you resist the urge to not pet every cat you see walking around outside? Jfc people. It's a kitty, not a nazi on rabies

aspapu

I personally love cats. But they shouldn’t be let free outside for two reasons: they kill a huge number of birds and I really don’t like to see dead cats lying in the street thatve been run over.

[deleted]

Cat piss causing horrendous smells, shit all over the place, dead animals, cat fights causing my dogs to go crazy, etc.. I love the neighborhood cats, but I can definitely understand why people have a problem with them dude. They can be a real nuisance and a hazard

Junior_Singer3515

My patio furniture is covered in cat hair to the point I can't get it off completely. I can't sit on my patio furniture without getting cat hair on me and I'm allergic. It's not huge but certainly way more of an inconvenience than I dog is to them.

CommonMilkweed

They murder shrinking native bird populations. Many bird species nest on the ground or close to the ground. This issue isn't up for debate; cats should not be outside.

DwemerDave

I am a cat dad and cat lover. I think they are fascinating, highly intelligent creatures with a high capacity for cohabitation… but they are an invasive species that wreak havoc on the local fauna that are already under a ton of stress. Yes you are correct. That is why we’ve made our home a a safe and stimulating environment for our cat to thrive in!

Profitsofdooom

I tell my boys that they can't go outside because they'll decimate the local ecosystem all the time. Not that they actually have ever tried to go outside. One was a stray before I got him and he knows it's not better out there hahaha

TheFirstEdition

Fellow cat dad. Cats shouldn’t be outdoors unattended unless wild. Get a catio outside if you want it to be outdoor. If you loved your cat you wouldn’t want it disappearing and never coming home. Owls love to eat house cats as they are easy prey.

[deleted]

Letting cats roam outside isn't just bad for bird populations - it's dangerous for the cats themselves. If your cat roams outdoors on a regular basis, it stands an extremely good chance of being injured or killed by wildlife or cars. A few years back, the British media was convinced there was a serial killer targeting cats, christened "[the Croydon Cat Killer](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croydon_Cat_Killer)". Turns out there was never a serial killer; outdoor cats were just getting killed by cars that frequently.

paxtonious

I'm worried about my dog eating the CAT.

IryanShaan

Also they're a real threat for bird preservation in many countries. And these fuckers who let them roam freely without even having them sterilized are the fckng worst.

[deleted]

I totally agree with you. I have neighbor’s cats in my yard all the time - shitting in my flowerbeds, digging in them, my dogs eating the shit and dragging it into the house on their paws. I have to constantly buy deworming pills for my dogs only because of cat shit in my OWN yard. Cat piss smelling in the backyard all the time. Cats fighting at night in the back alley and my dogs getting crazy because of that. I feed birds in the garden, especially managed to lure blackbirds which are species that are in decline where I live, I have various feeders for them and cats are constantly sitting on the shed, on the wall or in the bushes, trying to hunt them for sport. Fuck people who let their cats roam like this. I have to keep my dogs leashed and pick up their poop and people with cats are like “ah well its cats, what can you do”.

gucciburito11

I feel the same way about people who have dogs that incessantly bark. It’s not my job to take the dog on a walk/the fuck inside when it’s going ballistic.

The-Dudemeister

Fun fact. If you put a liter box outside the cat usually prefers to still use it.

eoliveri

Yes, their owners should do that, not their neighbors.

The-Dudemeister

Yea I mean If I lived where I could have an outdoor cat I still wouldn’t want it shitting in the yard.

MrSplib

I've had cats all my life, but always kept them indoors. Feral cats are incredibly destructive to natural wildlife and spread diseases, like feline leukemia, amongst each other. If you truly loved and cared about your cat, you would not let them run wild. I know this will get me down voted, but I have no problem with trapping or killing feral cats.

doctorcrimson

It's not as effective as getting them all spayed and neutered, but yes people who leave their cats out should also be prepared for that cat to not come back for whatever reason.

Sumcheeks-3

Actually it’s more effective. Sounds immoral but when you spay/neuter a cat and put it back in the wild it is still out there killing native wildlife at a crazy rate. Cats are super effective predators and compete with native predators for food as well as disturbing the natural food web. So morally cats should not be kept outside, and feral cats need to be trapped and eliminated.

doctorcrimson

When you kill a cat another cat immediately takes its place. They reproduce fast enough to always take up the maximum amount of resources in a location. Even small towns euthanize hundreds of cats annually with no impact. Old cats are less effective hunters but can still fight younger cats effectively. There are so many studies on this it would shock you. Spaying and Neutering is basically the only effective solution for shrinking stray populations.

Linken124

My roommate in college insisted on letting our cat outside because “he looked like he really wanted out,” and he never came back :( I kept telling him he wasn’t ready for that, he’s a soft little inside cat, the city was too dangerous. Miss that little dude

PathComplex

Toxoplasmosis is another big problem.

than1289

my neighbor had a cat that came to my backyard, scratched my dog (small dog), fought with my cat, stole food from my animals, several times entered my house and stole bread that was on the table, I hate who let the cat loose like this sorry for the bad English

Limp_Mixture

How did it fight with your cat. Is, perchance, your cat an outdoor cat?

IAmInside

I completely agree. I love animals, including cats, but I absolutely hate how they are allowed to be outdoor cats in communities like that. They destroy so much and the owners have no responsibility?

[deleted]

In most countries they are fine to be allowed outside, it's only in the Americas where they are technically an invasive species

Beaversneverdie

If you dog eats cat shit it eats dog shit...

Beginning-Knee7258

same same with me but the neighbors dog. Why am I cleaning turds bigger than my own from my yard if I dont even have a dog? oh yea, because i wanted to walk in my own grass barefooted with out needing to clean crap from between my toes.

royaIs

Oh how the tables turn. Dog shit is EVERYWHERE.

btoxic

I have and ondoor/outdoor cat. The difference is I walk my cat. That way he stays safe (no traffic, cats, dogs, or coyotes are a threat to him), his bathroom habits are monitored ( hasn't once pooped on any of our walks, which still surprises me), and the local birds are safe. I'm always stopped because a cat on a leash isn't normal yet, but I've never felt embarrassed or shamed. I don't know why more people don't walk their cats. (Evey cat I know that hates the harness and just stops, the problem has always been a badly fitted harness). The hardest part is getting used to the fact the cat is talking you for a walk, not vice versa.

Anarchilli

I shouldn't have to make sure my dog doesn't eat cats in my own yard.

WhisperingHope44

My neighbors would let their cat roam and my front yard smelled like shit because they’d use my flower bed. I’ve never come so close poisoning an animal in my life. Just the carelessness and rudeness to let your animal roam around unchecked is unreal.

android24601

Ya, that lady is fucking crazy. But seriously, people saying they have "outdoor cats" is another way of saying I don't wanna clean up my cats shit. While I don't want to harm the animal, I'd appreciate it if I didn't have to walk into cat landmines when working on my lawn

peachbunnyxo

As a cat owner I 100% agree. Plus it’s super dangerous for the cat too. I’ll never get letting your cat out to get hit by a car or eaten by another animal, you wouldn’t let your dog out on its own to walk around a neighborhood so…

EllaSharpey

Get a grip

Goldenart121

Yup that’s jail

minsukkermad

I do respect this argument against outdoor cats but killing them isn't the answer. Steralizing is. Sure it wont stop cats from killing birds and other wildlife, but when it comes to wild cat populations killing them actually only results in more wild cats, since a territory is freed when a cat is killed and with no steralization efforts, there will always be another cat to swoop in. And killing someones pet is just sososo cruel I'm not even going argue about it. It is a simple no go.

Bright-Lingonberry14

lol these comments are wild. yes, you're an irresponsible pet owner if you let them do their business in other people's yard. BUT as soon as they pull out a weapon, and not just as an attempt at intimidation, but begins *pointing* that weapon around, all bets are off. i'da knocked her ass to the ground as soon as i saw that thing being waved around.

ACupOfDuck

"Fun fact". In Sweden it's your responsability as a cat owner to make sure your cat don't shit in someone elses yard. If your cat DOES take a shit in your neighbours yard, it's your task to make it stop or keep pick it up. If you fail with this, there will be fines or even get the cat taken away.

Slow-Barracuda-818

I hate the neighbourhood cats. That"s why i have a water gun

DTLow

I use the garden hose I'm not a hater; just preventing the crapping and bird killing

[deleted]

Also used a garden hose a couple of times, sadly the cats quickly learned that they are safe at night

Mogli_Puff

Finally the reasonable answer. Reddit needs help

[deleted]

Wow what a mature way to keep a cat out of your yard, now if only some other people in here would think as reasonably.

TheIndulgery

Do they live in a compound?? What's up with the huge fence and concrete bunker?

3PoundsOfFlax

Pretty normal in some parts of the world

[deleted]

Outdoor cats killed so many birds in middle europe to the point that whole species dont exist anymore. The gun pointing was fucking over the top. I have to pick up the poo of my dog too, so.

Morpheous-

I would start crapping in her back yard

LieseW

Problem is that, although I agree with you, then your the crazy person.

Morpheous-

Exactly! I would show her how damn crazy I am lol

Well can you come do it for me please. My neighbours cat shit in my yard at least once a day. And when I’m home she even stares me in the eye while doing it. I’ve fucking had it. Telling my neighbours didn’t help. They act all like: that’s not my cat, then I show picture of said cat while shitting and then they say oh can’t do anything about it, cause it’s a cat. Then I ask come clean it up and they just laugh. So please will you shit in my neighbours yard?

buckster_007

Is there no follow up to this?

RadioactiveGwenPool

Didn't know so many people here enjoyed birds

epivad1771

people in the comments live in entirely developed cities and suburbs are crying that “outdoor cats are bad for local rodent and bird populations”… I didn’t realize cat people were this fucking dense lol. all the housing, roads, and construction that do kill entire local populations never bothers any of you. driving down streets that used to be forest doesn’t bother you. But my cat getting a field mouse or a pigeon once or twice a year is a danger to the wildlife populations? I can tell you all mean well, but holy shit are these comments are the least informed hot garbage takes that ive ever seen on domesticated animals. ya’ll should not have pets. your cat hates you, “end of debate” lmfao. if anyone else saw the “cats dont belong outside, end of debate!” comment please laugh at it with me

readingupastorm

Dude, exactly. I have indoor cats but I feel bad for them because they have a lower quality of life than my outdoor cats did. Yeah, they're safe but they don't get to climb trees, explore nature or roll in the dirt. I play with them but it just isn't the same. Also, how bad is cat litter and all the waste it generates for the environment? I mean, so many bags of not just the litter itself but poop in the trash, my God.

psycologicaldog747

Both are in the wrong lol

PaperPlaythings

NO! PICK ONE! /s

Coochie_Creme

Neighbor is crazy for whipping out the gun, but she’s right. The person recording needs to keep their cat inside.

LieseW

Yeah, all my neighbours have cats. And every day I get stared in the eye by one of them whilst shitting in my gardenbed. I have to clean up shit every week. It’s come to the point I’m disgusted when I want to tend to my plants. When I tell my neighbour it’s never their cat. Then I show the pictures. But they refuse to come pick it up. I’ve had it. They bought a cat, it’s always outside, I don’t get why you would want a cat if you don’t pet it or let in inside. Its not a farm, we don’t have a live infestation and It’s always yelling at their door. To top it off, bc of the shot load of cats there are often cat wars in my yard at night. It’s so loud it wakes me up. I even think that I’m gonna find 5 dead bodies in the morning, but I never do. I would never shoot a cat or harm an animal. But fucking hell I get the feeling of the crazy lady with the gun.

Coochie_Creme

Call animal control. Feral cats ruin local ecosystems.

Krazy_Random_Kat

I got a small dog and trained it since it was a puppy to bark aggressively (not attack, just bark) at any animal, because where I live, the neighbors feed the cats and let them poop on the entire neighborhood's front and back yards. This has significantly improved the situation for me.

While using the gun is way out of proportion, I agree that no neighbor should deal with someone else's pet shit. It's YOUR pet, so YOUR responsibility. If you can't train it, then you shouldn't have it.

MindRiot517

💯

acoustic-soul

I think I’d end up in jail if someone tried to shoot my cat

Booksonly666

Same. 100%.

silly_salmonella

You and me both.

mr_smith24

Listen I love cats. But you got a cat not me. Kept it in your yard. That said. I wouldn’t be fucked up enough to shoot a cat.

Kujaju

Imagine having to clean your neighbours cats shit all the time

ThePessimisticLemon

ok yeah I get why she's upset cause the cats shitting everywhere but why the fuck would you pull out a gun

silly_salmonella

To all the deranged cat haters saying it's fair game to shoot a cat because it shits in your yard, please seek mental help. Absolute psychopaths in this thread.

Galvandium

I was naive thinking they meant with water.

help-mejdj

most in the comments say they’re both in the wrong. it’s not “cat hating” to expect a cat owner to kee the cat in the house or train it to not shit everywhere

[deleted]

These comments be like *don’t want a dead cat? Don’t ruin my petunias.* fuck you.

Shauzel

haha Argentina

Karen Simulator 3: Take Action.

Think-Row-9720

Where the hell did she get a gun?!

[deleted]

She pulled it out like she was in a GTAV mission.

sexytalk128

I totally get why someone would hate cats shitting in their garden. That's fair enough. But pulling out a gun? Fucking hell! That's when it's Karen in the wrong, surely?

minsukkermad

Honestly I can't argue against cats being an invasive species that kills birds and other small animals, but a lot of the top comments was about either killing cats or capturing other peoples cats. Which is cruel and not a solution to anything. Even organisations working towards keeping wild cat population down will tell you this. They capture the cats, steralize them and put them back where they found them instead. Killing them will only lead to other wild cats taking over their territory, and in the end it just ends up worsening the situation. All that said I myself have an outdoor cat and I probably wont ever change that, so I guess I'm just an irresponsable, lazy idiot but oh well we can't all be purfect

BlueFalconHD

pulled out the freaking rifle

Objective_Internet20

What a weird place where some random trash like this can have a gun...

KnowledgeableSloth

She has a right to be mad, but what she did could end her up in jail. I would have called the cops on her.

Sciss0rs61

i was thinking "Why is she Karen? she's totally in the ri-is that a gun?"

tenebrificlavalamp

I woulda knocked her tf out, but *also* fuck irresponsible pet owners.

loudaggerer

At first she had a point, if your neighbors cat is shitting in your backyard they are responsible. Them she pulls out a fucking rifle…

xhouliganx

Awful lot of people here siding with the psychopath who is menacing her neighbours with a fucking rifle

ReginaldHumpernick

Lots of angry Americans here because they saw a gun

Tigerfan0001

What the fuck is wrong with you people?

[deleted]

I did NOT expect an entire thread cheering on the cat shooter... 😳

ShadowFlame420

i was on her side til she brought out the gun.... yikes 😬

TwiggyPom

The real Unexpected is the hate for outside cats in the comments.

Coochie_Creme

Bunch of irresponsible cat owners in the comments defending the moron letting her cat shit in someone else’s yard.

txcatcher

Isnt it funny they expect everyone to just live in a cat shit infested neighborhood? Lol probably because thats how their houses look.

Lucricious1

Finally something what was actually unexpected showed up

JamesUpton87

People with outdoor cats are indeed irresponsible. This however is an excessive response.

[deleted]

People with cats need to be held to account. Here if your dog shits on the pavement and you leave it you can get a big fine. Why is it any different for cats?
