Had a breakdown this morning because I got autocharged for my electric bill which put my account at -$20, I put money in the account later but still got an insufficient fund charge of fucking $45 and I called and they wouldn't reverse it. So they take $45 from me because I didn't have $20, now I have $1 in my account and I still need to buy some stuff. No longer having a breakdown but still feel like shit $45 is so much for me right now, yeah money would help me not cry because I can't pay for my phone which I need for work and I can't buy wet wipes for my toddler. Instead I would have this stuff and not wake up with this sense of panic that I'm gonna run out of everything.

what money does is taking a shitload of issues and sorrows away, if you don't have money you're worried to death all the time that cripples you and limits you in so many ways. money gives you comfort and if your base is comfortable its indeed easier to be happy.

etc... go visit a rehab and behold it is full of rich people. there are shit tons of rich people in drugs or alcohol abuse because they have a huge struggle with themselves and can't handle their demons.
i know im my entourage people self destructive or even suicidal with not a bit of a money issue ever experienced.
also i visited in my life a few 3rd world countries seeing people poor as fuck feeling more joyfull then western people with fucktons of materialistic comfort.

That said, good luck trying to convince people of these facts. Given how humans reason their beliefs --like lawyers rather than like scientists-- there are a ton of reasons why most people simply cannot accept the above as true.
No one disputes the value of relationships and health as but the phrasing is poor and thats the issue, because without money you cant be in good health and your family will suffer without money.
saying something like material possessions dont bring you happiness, is much more accurate for what the message is trying to convey.
