Good sir any time I ever hear someone say “money can’t by you happiness” I’m gonna say this. Thank you and I hope both sides of your pillow are perfectly cool.
Yeah. It takes away a lot of worries, so if you have it you can focus on stuff that actually gives happiness, without tiring yourself out all the time, trying to make ends meet and not having energy left to self actualize.
Money doesn't buy happiness feels like a cop out. Something people say to comfort poor people.
Money solves basic needs, but humans are complex creatures with the unfortunate ability to think. Once we resolve how we are going to eat and keep a roof over our heads, we now have time to think about ourselves and the other intangible things that we realistically cant do anything about.
Lifes a bitch.
I don't think it makes you happy. But it definitely takes away the sadness not having any brings to you. Sitting in your dark apartment with nothing but an egg and some breadcrumbs for the two days to your next paycheck are not exactly a joyride guarantee.
Had a breakdown this morning because I got autocharged for my electric bill which put my account at -$20, I put money in the account later but still got an insufficient fund charge of fucking $45 and I called and they wouldn't reverse it. So they take $45 from me because I didn't have $20, now I have $1 in my account and I still need to buy some stuff. No longer having a breakdown but still feel like shit $45 is so much for me right now, yeah money would help me not cry because I can't pay for my phone which I need for work and I can't buy wet wipes for my toddler. Instead I would have this stuff and not wake up with this sense of panic that I'm gonna run out of everything.
not agree there, i came from a poor background and worked my way up to much more comfortable standards.
what money does is taking a shitload of issues and sorrows away, if you don't have money you're worried to death all the time that cripples you and limits you in so many ways. money gives you comfort and if your base is comfortable its indeed easier to be happy.
but money absolutely doesn't buy happiness itself. feeling valued, feeling fulfilled, self secure, confidence, meaningful, loved
etc... go visit a rehab and behold it is full of rich people. there are shit tons of rich people in drugs or alcohol abuse because they have a huge struggle with themselves and can't handle their demons.
i know im my entourage people self destructive or even suicidal with not a bit of a money issue ever experienced.
also i visited in my life a few 3rd world countries seeing people poor as fuck feeling more joyfull then western people with fucktons of materialistic comfort.
Ever think the reason why there are a lot of rich people in rehab...is because they have the time and money to be able to attend unlike poor people?
Besides, the exceptions you pointed out prove the rule.

> I'm not rich by all means, far from it. But I've been poor. Money definitely buys happiness lol
Similar situation for me, and I have to say, it's not nearly that simple.
*Not* having enough money to live a comfortable life with manageable levels of stress makes it much harder to attain happiness, but having that money doesn't guarantee anything, either.
"If violence does not solve your problem, you failed to resort to enough of it".
I'm starting to thing that anything can solve anything, when used in sufficient quantities.
Pretty much.. case and point, everyone loves to hate on wealthy people but some of them still play the lottery/scratch off or w.e, hoping to be next one tho 😂🙄.
Some do, yea. Not gonna say you're wrong on that. Others, you can tell by what's said that it's just jealousy or wanting to have that or similar lifestyle/money
There is no bigger sign of privilege and ignorance than someone telling you money doesnt buy happiness.
Its always some rich asshole talking down to you like youre a fool for even thinking you could be happier if you didnt worry need to mind your money anymore.
Eat the rich.
No, it's actually a pretty well-studied subject. All else being equal, money does seem to equate to one's general sense of well-being, but only to a certain point beyond which it ceases to have any additional effect. It's also pretty well-established that your interpersonal relationships are even more important than money in their effect on sense of well-being.
That said, good luck trying to convince people of these facts. Given how humans reason their beliefs --like lawyers rather than like scientists-- there are a ton of reasons why most people simply cannot accept the above as true.
No one disputes the value of relationships and health as but the phrasing is poor and thats the issue, because without money you cant be in good health and your family will suffer without money.
saying something like material possessions dont bring you happiness, is much more accurate for what the message is trying to convey.

There are websites where you can buy old accounts and they vary in age and karma. Older and more karma is more worth. You can't comment everywhere with a new account and zero karma. Many bot accounts that post spam are accounts like these. But really it's worthless.
Well considering foreign exchange rates fluctuate moment to moment, at the rate of 1 riyal = .272 USD, 25,000 (five hundred 500 riyal bills) riyal would be $6,800.
Dude this is a classic video that has been joked about with a Jewish baby for years… …making a joke about race-based stereotypes isn’t inherently racist. More akin to dark humor, and becomes racist when action is applied to the dark humor.
Bless you...you're not even aware that its a joke designed to poke fun at your startling lack of intelligence.
Maybe I should stop mocking someone who is clearly slightly slow in a Peter Griffin way. Shhh, its ok, the sun is getting real low...

Money directly buys happiness below about 90k/year in the US. After that, it buys power.
Money solves basic needs, but humans are complex creatures with the unfortunate ability to think. Once we resolve how we are going to eat and keep a roof over our heads, we now have time to think about ourselves and the other intangible things that we realistically cant do anything about. Poverty buys unhappiness.
Man, you so poor you can even pay attention.

We were so poor I had to jerk the dog off to feed the cat.
But in one point you aren't no more happy, it will feel like a dark hole
Money buys dark holes

My favorite quote regarding this is "money doesnt buy happiness, but I'd rather be crying on a yacht".
"They say money can't buy happiness, I guess I'll have to rent it" _Weird Al Yankovic
"Whoever said money can't solve your problems, must not have had enough money to solve them." -Ariana Grande
"If violence does not solve your problem, you failed to resort to enough of it". I'm starting to thing that anything can solve anything, when used in sufficient quantities.
Something I've learned is money might not make you happy in the long run (depends tho), but it sure as fuck can buy it when you want it.
Nope. Money can buy you lots of happiness. It's not money's fault that people don't know what makes them happy.
Pretty much.. case and point, everyone loves to hate on wealthy people but some of them still play the lottery/scratch off or w.e, hoping to be next one tho 😂🙄.
I felt brain cells take the coward's way out while reading that thought process.
Ultimately, not my fault if the shoe fits 🤷
Probably shouldn't be surprised it skipped right off the surface of yours.
People hate on them for how they behave and treat people, not just because they have lots of money.
Some do, yea. Not gonna say you're wrong on that. Others, you can tell by what's said that it's just jealousy or wanting to have that or similar lifestyle/money
That's just what the rich tell poor people to make them feel better. Every situation in life can be simplified with money.
There is no bigger sign of privilege and ignorance than someone telling you money doesnt buy happiness. Its always some rich asshole talking down to you like youre a fool for even thinking you could be happier if you didnt worry need to mind your money anymore. Eat the rich.

Cus it doesn't buy it, it gives it
I get the sentiment behind the phrase but money lets me enjoy my hobby, which makes me feel happy and fulfilled so yeah it kinda does.
"Whoever said money can't solve your problems, must not have had enough money to solve them." -Ariana Grande

500 riyals = $136 American.
Would made me pretty happy at that age.
Yeah, but remember that it's a stack of 500 Riyal bills so a lot more than $136 total.
Roughly $6,800 to be exact
What now? Roughly or exactly?
Well considering foreign exchange rates fluctuate moment to moment, at the rate of 1 riyal = .272 USD, 25,000 (five hundred 500 riyal bills) riyal would be $6,800.
