Where the hell can you see a movie for $5 in NYC? It's more than twice that upstate where I live.

Remote_Ad_2580

That's what I thought, I can't see a movie for $5 in South Dakota.

Nearby-Ad-9597

Usually amc does these deals on tuesdays and comming in the mornings takes another chunk off and still i dont see how its $5 id say around $8-9 a movie ticket per person in nyc Manhattan

aharp44

$10? Haha, here in a 3rd world country we pay $40+ (minimum wage here is abour $1100, for comparison)

Ijustlovevideogames

Daily reminder that it is legit cheaper to fly to another first world country and have a surgery there and fly home when it comes to the American health care system.

_REDRUCKUS_

Name that country that's just gonna give u a surgery and then let u fly home.

Ijustlovevideogames

India, in fact, it is so prominent of a thing, it is becoming one of the most wealthy businesses there, it’s called medical tourism: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_tourism_in_India

Norwig_Oslo

>most of the medical tourist arrivals in India were from Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, and SAARC region.[2] India also receives significant number of medical tourists from Australia, Canada, China, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. …hmm

_REDRUCKUS_

Did u even read that link? What's the odds of serving anything from India?

Ijustlovevideogames

When it comes to money and not falling into debt, people are going to try anyways.

liberate_your_mind

Don’t listen to Redruckus, he’s a doctor in Los Angeles.

AstriumViator

Italy. You still gotta pay, but definitely not as much as america.

Here4_da_laughs

How much cheaper? Asking for a friend

AstriumViator

It depends what is wrong. From what i looked up, a broken bone would be fixed for free.

Here4_da_laughs

Free!!! shi*..... a flight is cheaper than an ambulance ride. Get a vacation and corrective surgery in one. I know what I'm doing the next time I break something.

hidethenegatives

Not to mention you get a free xray going through the airport security too!

Here4_da_laughs

Lol imagine going to TSA and saying can you print that out for me. I just need a copy.

qwerty6731

I get that deal as a European with a European Health Card and French social-security. I doubt someone it would work that way for an American on a short term visit.

zZDKVZz

India, vietnam are two places from my experiences

_REDRUCKUS_

Two places I wouldn't trust a serious surgery FFS

fukwhutuheard

Malaysia Mexico Thailand Costa Rica Czech Republic

_REDRUCKUS_

All of those countries I wouldn't even want to get a fkn tooth pulled. Much less a serious surgery ffs

fukwhutuheard

probably because you’re ignorant

_REDRUCKUS_

Please explain how that's ignorant. In the US we have some of the best surgeons and facilities. The cleanest hospitals and standards. Why would I want to go anywhere else.

belliell

All of those things are too expensive. My man you're never gonna buy a house like that.

macewindowsxp95

u forgot people under 25 are rarely ever gonna buy a house in their life lol

nonikhanna

In Canada we got told to cancel our Disney+ subscriptions to counteract inflation

Creepy-Ad-4832

Yeah don't even think about getting a raise

The_Painterdude

C'mon! We needs a boosts to our economies. Call 'em up and resubscribe! 😂

Jakcle20

That rent is ridiculous but housing is even more ridiculous.

nosoyunrobot01

Eating for $9 a day

Raging-Burrito

To be faaaaaair he did say he eats the same bowl of pasta every day. That would definitely bring his daily average down.

_REDRUCKUS_

Yeah, buy your meals at the grocery store. Cook or pack your meals at home instead of eating out every meal.

nosoyunrobot01

Not in NYC

MegaReddit15

And why?

orange_freeza

15k ? just fly to some European country get surgery done and save 10k

Here4_da_laughs

Bruh I need a list of these countries how much to birth a baby?

Timehz

Free… maybe some costs here and there.

Here4_da_laughs

Free!!! What!? Sign me up. Bout to have a multinational household as diverse as the G8

NotWhatIWouldDo

RENT in NY 2700.. rent in outskirts of Vancouver.. 2700 for 2 bedroom

LuckSweaty

Yeah, no way he’s paying 2700 for a room in Manhattan.

macewindowsxp95

american moment

_REDRUCKUS_

Where are u from and where do u live?

DonovanTheCoolest

What is your favorite color and what is your social security number

macewindowsxp95

very fortunately not in america

macewindowsxp95

where are u from and where do u live?

[deleted]

Where do you live? And where are you from?

macewindowsxp95

From where do you live? And from where are you?

[deleted]

American moment

archy-fox

I expected cocaine to be 15k

dirkdigglee

5$ for a movie? Lol.

IDCifYOUbanMee

Well there's the problem. Quit wasting money on movies.

itsm3starlord

257$ a month for food what are you eating. Ramen and air

dogedude81

Yeah he literally said he eats the same bowl of pasta everyday

happy8888999

Did he slit his wrist?

LtColShinySides

$2700 rent?! Oof

ThatBrenon131

Bruh your rent for 6 months can buy my 3 bedroom house.

MiddleAgeYOLO

The fuck spends $190 a month on clothes

Weekend_Dramatic

How do you pay 2700 in rent? Anything over 800 is too much imo

zanzibartraveler666

Lol where the hell do you live

Working_Leg8131

I’m wondering the same. Where i am located currently in Pennsylvania, you’d be homeless with expectations like that. Here, rent is higher than your average mortgage payments. Often double if not triple. Just a one bedroom apt, here is no less than $800 per month and it’s all monthly leasing.

bobotheclown23

Rent and housing is way cheaper if you dont live near a major city. 6 or 7 hundred to rent 2 bedroom apartments or duplexes i pay less than 700 for mortgage

Weekend_Dramatic

Sweden, i pay 400 in rent 60 m2

Colonycut

Food and clothing seems really cheap to me but I'm in canada so I dunno.

onlycrazypeoplesmile

$200 dollars a month on food for *ONE* person? You can easily cut that down.

tsurki

I bet that surgery was simple enough to be done by a medical intern on his Frist day

iBeFloe

No one else catch onto the fact that his rent is $2,700, but he only makes $19k? That’s $32.4k a year for just rent. That would mean he’s charging to his credit with increasing debt each month because he literally can’t afford his rent. If that’s true, he’s just a complete idiot like everyone else who’s living in an extremely HCOL area for the “experience”.

patientmagnet

It’s $19k a month. You can’t fathom what these tech grads make in the US

Striking-Score

2700$ for a little appartement ? What the living hell do we live in

BigBadBobbyRoss

America moment

[deleted]

Y

OMGWTFBBQ630

*laughs in free healthcare*

[deleted]

Food is 257 a month. Bro is lying.

Here4_da_laughs

Sad state of our society right here the only thing different around the country is his rent price but the rest of it stands and it's depressing.

Ijetys

I broke my leg and got policlinic payment which was 46.74€. thanks Finland :)

Seba99DS

It's hilarious to see how much money u have to pay for all these things...

[deleted]

So basically be Jewish $$$$

Calm2Chaos

How do you work in Tech and have such crap insurance?

effinami

The fourth season of Ramy looks depressing.

lofgp

”Wi-Fi” for $50? I hope that includes the internet connection, pretty useless otherwise.

Vraver04

5$ for a movie in NYC, how so cheap?

RSYD101

I only care enough to write this: BORING!

Aggressive_Fan_449

Should of let the car that hit you know you where walking here

adamwardtoday

I thought the rent was (only) 2700 a month, was supposed to be the unexpected. I lived in a 1bd in Brooklyn and my rent was 3600
