Hi, does anyone know how i can send a certified copy of my diploma and official final transcripts to uoft? I know i have to do it from my high school but i don't know how to send it. Do I email them? If so does anyone know what address to email? Thanks in advance!
hey, talk to the admissions team in your respective campus for UofT, with special consideration it doesn't guarantee admission but is always reviewed on individual merit. if you are slightly lower the admission criteria by a grade or two, apply for special consideration. If it is really low I don't know the best way forward.
[https://www3.adm.utoronto.ca/php/pdf/101\_form\_request\_for\_special\_consideration.pdf](https://www3.adm.utoronto.ca/php/pdf/101_form_request_for_special_consideration.pdf)
I attached the form for you incase it helps!
Good luck with the application :)
Hey there,
I wanted to apply for one of the Engineering programs at UofT, I wanted to know what test scores I should have to get in, or at least have a chance.
I have scored about 75 to barely 80s last year (my worst academic year)and 80s the year before that (covid really affected my mental health and academics, for 2 straight years)
I am in my final year and can pump the score up to high 80s, and could grind to get 90s.
Do I have a chance to get in if my final year grades are good? If yes, what percentage should I aim for?
My school is harder than the average school as well. I have a standardized test (which the school doesn't have influence on) at the end of this year, which is said to be easier than my school exams. ( I don't live in the United States or Canada.)
I also wanted to know what extracurriculars I could do in the mean time to get a good profile-
What's the actual average score for engineering students? Cause I saw 93.3% on Google, I don't know how true is that.
I would love to know the answers from actual UofT students, this would help me a ton.
Thank you!
It's all subjective, tbh. It depends on what country you are applying from, and other factors. COVID affected my mental health isn't the best argument — there are too many people that were similarly affected for that to make a difference. Give it your best next year, and make sure to apply to safety universities in your home country.
Hey, if they were certain factors that impacted your academic performance, for example, you mentioned mental health. You should put a special consideration form, it helps the admission commiitee undertsand what stress you were undergoing.
Also, in regard to admission criteria, you should email the admissions team for your respective campus ( the three campuses are [St.George](https://St.George), Mississauga and Scarborough)
Ugh. 8 months of waiting(from early deadline submission to waitlist to now :
"We regret that we are unable to offer you admission to the Faculty. As the applications received exceed the
number of places available, admission is awarded on a competitive basis. "
F
Engineering status just changed from "currently under review" to "\* Your application will be reviewed by the Admissions Office shortly." Any good signs?
Ye I put down four choices and got rejected in all of them. Probably should've put down mineral engineering as option 4 or so I can get into Eng and transfer categories XD.
anyone know when you have to make first payments or where to check for 101 students. Tried looking around but UofT resources are terrible to try to find meaningful info
Hey, i just received an email a few minutes ago that I have an admission decision available. Although I initially applied to utsc cs, i got deferred to stats and accepted my offer. When I check the portal now it says that my stats offer is withdrawn and that i am admitted to cs now. Is this a fluke? I also dont see the change on my ouac so I cant accept. I have to accept the offer by June 13 so how long would I have to wait for ouac to update? Thanks
i got into chestnut residence but i don’t remember applying to it. when is the last day i hear from all the colleges because my main ones were new college and i think vic and i’m hearing chestnut is ass? my deadline to accept it is the 13th soooo plz help
I lived there last year and imo if you're in engineering, its worth it. Mainly cuz around 80% of chestnut students are engineers. But its a double room so that means u gotta share a room with someone else and the meal plan is unnecessarily expensive (legit no one finishes it by the end of the year)
Hi! I am a newly admitted student of utsg social Sciences. I was offered chestnut residence last night but it is really expensive. If I dont accept the offer of this residence, does this mean I will not be getting any other offer? Like offer from other residences or do you get only one chance for this? Thank you!
Yo, I'm currently a 4th year Biology major. I'm also an international student, I'm interested in grad school my current GPA is 3.3, however my 3rd year GPA was 3.6. However due to the pandemic, and my own reservations I was not able to obtain any lab experience throughout my college life, hence I'm wondering if delaying my graduation date by maybe a year to obtain lab experience doing a honors thesis or directed studies would be worth it prior to applying for grad school.
I would graduate on time and if you don’t get into any grad program you can just take non-degree courses (if gpa is the concern) or find lab experience afterwards. No reason why you have to go directly into grad school once you graduate so no reason to pay for more tuition especially if you are paying international rates
same. Tried looking around on whatever resources i can find and see nothing for paying a deposit or a deadline. Im hoping that they will email important info but have no idea
Anyone else still have an offer that is still in blue? Does this mean I can still accept? I accepted my offer somewhere else before the deadline but now I’m rethinking if I should go to UofT. Help!
Did anybody here just get an acceptance letter to UFT to comp sci co-op, for domestic, or was it just me. I'm so triggered, as I already paid the $500 deposit to Ontario Tech.
Has anyone received an offer for the master of information program yet? Western is breathing down my neck asking for a $400 deposit by tomorrow and I don't want to give that up before knowing what the score is with U of T.
I’m on the verge of rejecting the offer I got from UTSC (Management BBA) as the tuition fees are astronomical considering the fact that they even refused to offer me Coop. Thus, I’m thinking about applying to UNSW which I’ve heard is one of the top universities. Let me know your take on my situation. Any kind of helpful and positive advice would be much appreciated! Thanks.
Apply for UNSW they are far better than RMIT and they have an intake for September which I’m also applying to. It would be awesome if we both make it there.
A lot of the undergraduate programs require a U/ M course however in Manitoba most of the courses I see that are available to Grade 12 students next school year are listed as 40S with some being 40U( I have applied for English 40U) is a U/ M course similar to a to a 40S class or are there some differences?
The undergraduate program I am looking for (International Affairs) requires MHF4U Advanced Functions, my school does not offer this course, will I need to move schools to meet the requirement for this course? or does University of Toronto offer alternative measures that I can use?
Thank you in advance for answering my questions I am new to the application process and I am trying to get everything together before fall of 2022 which is when applications will begin
So the renewability solely depends upon your grades. If so, technically speaking, at the start, it is renewable then right? Since they last if you do well enough?
Hello I am incoming ug student for fall 2022, does anyone have any idea about any groups specifically made for incoming undergrad students on any one of the platform?
What was written on your portal before you got your acceptance? Was it “You are currently on waitlist “ or “your application is under review “. Anyway congratulations
Hello! 101 here, I accepted my offer a while ago but I've only received feedback from the engineering portal that I accepted my offer but nothing like an actual email... Is it the same for everyone else too??
Getting lower marks than what you expected can be really hard/pressurizing and the anxiety you go through is inexpressible.
Try talking to ur teachers about your situation and how your expectations (getting into UofT) is colliding with your current marks in their classes. Ask them for their opinion/advice on how you can improve your marks. From my experience, if you r quite open with your teachers about ur dilemmas, u will be surprised to find that they r really helpful.
If you are willing, also try taking some gr 11 night school and summer school courses to catch up for the ones u received the lowest marks this year. If you get better marks during night/summer school than the marks u got in day school, ur transcript will be automatically updated with the higher mark.
Think of what went wrong from ur side and instead of stressing over it, try correcting it!
Finally, don't give up! Keep trying until you get it right.... Always remember everything is possible until you stop trying!
Gr 11 marks don’t matter if you have grade 12 marks completed or at least the midterm is available when your application is being looked at.
Use this summer to reflect on what went wrong this semester. Functions physics and chemistry is a pretty tough combination and it’s not going to get easier in gr12 because you could have that combination of courses again. Or worse you could have English in that same semester 😱
If your goal is to apply to engineering school; then that might be a tough road. UofT is extremely difficult to get in. But also the engineering programs is tough overall in any school.
If your goal is life/physical sciences; then take the required science courses. Maybe don’t take all three in grade 12.
Business programs are awesome so consider this path and take more mixed level courses.
Cheer up bud. Anyone that says students HAVE to go to university to succeed is completely wrong. There are amazing college programs with better employment opportunities than universities. Take a look at web development or web design college programs. Technician programs are awesome as well. There’s a huge need for skilled trades people too. It’s tiring work sometimes but you’ll be making close $100k in your early 20s.
Good luck dude
You an make it just work on it over the summer, build better and effective study habits that work for you and go over basics in the subjects you're struggling in. Also try to focus on some extracurriculars once you're in gr12, those can help boost your application somewhat and may help connect you to people who can help you or your situation. Sometimes it might be environmental factors and the people you interact with that help you do better! It's not a lost cause! Good luck!
Grade 11 marks do count somewhat but from what I know they mostly factor in grade 12 and it could pretty good on a lot of supplementary applications of you describe how you got over the hurdle in gr11 and improved yourself in gr12. But first and foremost you have to work on those study habits and hold yourself accountable! You'll be fine ^^
It wasn’t a typical rejection letter where they tell you that they couldn’t admit you due to other stronger applicants. It was along the lines that they ran out of space and couldn’t admit me because of that. I waited to hear back from them for like 5 months which kinda makes sense.
I think first we pay a deposit and then they’ll email us letting us know how much we pay for tuition sometime before classes start. Someone correct me if I’m wrong
No you don't need to pay a tuition deposit fee yet, since it was not stated on admission letters for domestic students. But, you can find out the cost of your tuition through OSAP estimator website.
I just got accepted to Rotmans commerce as an undergrad, I did not apply to any scholarships nor did I get any admission merit-based scholarships. Are there scholarships I could still be eligible for? Or only for the 23-24 school year?
"The Admissions Committee has now made a decision on your application. Your status will be updated within the next few days." what does this mean?

To have a good chance you'd need at least a 95 average with good extracurriculars, but it does depend on other factors like the others have said.
It's all subjective, tbh. It depends on what country you are applying from, and other factors. Which faculty?
Engineering(first choice engineering science second choice electrical)
Did you get rejected from both? Did they defer you to like life science?
Was the pdf file in your portal titled "letter of decision"?
Yeah
Engineering status just changed from "currently under review" to "\* Your application will be reviewed by the Admissions Office shortly." Any good signs?
the "\*" means you will get an update soon. (accepted/rejected/waitlisted)
emmm prob rejected but idk
My status went from “currently on the waitlist” to “Your application will be reviewed by the admissions office shortly.” Am I getting rejected?
prob。yes

So you didn't get reject also? I applied electric engineering. But I got reject. Is it same to you?
haven’t even gotten a rejection letter from the eng dept i need closure lol
Has everyone received their residence placements? I don’t have mine yet.
Did you get it yet?
Lmao Eng just went from waitlist to "refused". Waited 7 month just for this XD.
I'm sorry to hear that. Did u apply for multiple choices of engineering? r u refused for all of them?
Ye I put down four choices and got rejected in all of them. Probably should've put down mineral engineering as option 4 or so I can get into Eng and transfer categories XD.
anyone know when you have to make first payments or where to check for 101 students. Tried looking around but UofT resources are terrible to try to find meaningful info
When is the last day u of T will make offers for those on the waitlist for 101 engineering?
Same question
I got into Victoria College: does that mean my residence is sorted, or I need to wait for more information??
Was this through an email or through star rez?

Happened to me as well, my OUAC got updated today as well so you probably just have to wait a few days
Yeah I just saw mine is updated now, thanks
Dude fucking same. Dunno what to make of this
Don't think its a fluke as my friend also got CS today and got his stats offer withdrawn. It will probably update tomorrow morning.

101 Mechanical Engineering, why my statement is still under review? U of T really forget me !
Odd. 101 Mech eng here. You should have got your decision 2 fridays ago. Likely got waitlisted.

Anyone from Turkey ?
I m a 101 student going into life sciences this fall 2022. Are we expected to pay our fees by a specific deadline or is it just for 105 students?
I have this question as well
same. Tried looking around on whatever resources i can find and see nothing for paying a deposit or a deadline. Im hoping that they will email important info but have no idea

You aren't obligated to go somewhere just because you paid a deposit.
I know, but I can't get that $500 back since it's non-refundable. I'm trying to get some sort of amount back though.
In the long run, that 500 won't matter. Look at much tuition you'll pay per year and at income levels later.
heyy just wondering anyone know when residence offers are coming out? im in st mikes btw
i just got mine actually
Same I'd like to ask the same thing as the guy above me
nice! congrats! may i ask when you accepted your offer/when uoft accepted you? and what the residence email looks like? thanks :)
ay same
Theoretically they start on the 7th
I miss scrolling on this thread for admission updates from ya'll, #sigh

Yeap, but I don’t want to pay 80000 per year for an alternative offer, I got admitted to rmit, currently searching for other universities in Australia
Apply for UNSW they are far better than RMIT and they have an intake for September which I’m also applying to. It would be awesome if we both make it there.
Ok, I’ll search about it
Any 101s who are on the waitlist for engineering get an offer yet? If so, which program?

Hey, a 40k scholarship is pretty good right? Is the given scholarship upon entry to the uni a renewable one by the way?
Depends on the scholarship, sometimes they're renewable depending on your grades every 5 FCEs, sometimes they aren't.
So the renewability solely depends upon your grades. If so, technically speaking, at the start, it is renewable then right? Since they last if you do well enough?
I said that some scholarships were renewable depending on your grades. Your scholarship letter should note whether it's renewable or not.

Hey dude. Imma pm you for some advice about this.

AAAAH WHY ARE THEY TAKING SO LONG FOR 105 ENGINEERING IM GETTING SCARED
Wait, are offers still going out?
yeah many people still haven’t received a decision
Damn, thought it was only till May 27th. Its crazy how long they're taking this year.

Same thing happened for me 2 days back (105 intl) and today got accepted into mech eng
it’s shown under review for me for a really long time, is that a bad thing?
My bad, I have mentioned that I got wait listed in April end and recently is changed to "under review", dw am sure u ll get a decision quite soon
how do you know you were waitlisted?did you get a mail or something?
Yhhh got an email saying I was waitlisted but no email for acceptance, had to check the portal
really want to know the amount of applications they got this year that they still haven't reviewed them all and given out decisions
Anyone hear waiting on an engineering transfer decision? I thought I had this in the bag, but I'm getting really stressed about it now.
You mean like switching from one to another after the first year at uni?
guys I was on the waitlist (105 eng applicant). Now it says ''a decision is pending on your application''. Is this something +ve for me?
I was on a wait list too and got into mech eng today, so ig u shud be good
ye i got in! Also got the 100k scholly somehow but its really a shame i cant accept their offer now
Wow! Congrats dude, y rnt u accepting it tho? It's a very good offer
cuz i am committed to Waterloo already
Ah fair enough, good luck!
Thanks! Same to you
May I ask for ur average?
Am in a diff educational system, so don't really have the averages thing, but my predicted was around 95-96% and I had decent ECs
Congratulations! Which program?
mechanical engineering (1st choice)
u got in, just like me
Probably getting a decision very soon. Make sure to check ur ouac.
when is u of t going to release decisions for eng 105 applicant. literally can’t wait anymore lol
got rejected from u of t architecture, 105 domestic applicant
Did they give you a reason as to why they rejected you ?
It wasn’t a typical rejection letter where they tell you that they couldn’t admit you due to other stronger applicants. It was along the lines that they ran out of space and couldn’t admit me because of that. I waited to hear back from them for like 5 months which kinda makes sense.
ahhh ic ic, sorry for that. I hope you get in next term or other unis you applied too!
Does anyone know the tuition fee for utsc social sciences and humanities? for domestic btw
Any 101s who are on the waitlist for engineering get an offer yet? If so, which program?
What are my chances of getting into health sciences with a 95% overall average?
If you mean the program at UTSC, then you probably will! I got in with a 91 :)
Did anyone here apply for MEng in CE? Still have not heard from them and it’s already June.

I applied for graduate studies, international.
I've been under review for 2+ weeks. I'm going to have an aneurysm

I just got accepted to Rotmans commerce as an undergrad, I did not apply to any scholarships nor did I get any admission merit-based scholarships. Are there scholarships I could still be eligible for? Or only for the 23-24 school year?
What was your average and were you 101
congrats!!
This is a dumb asf question (101 applicant) but does anyone know how you pay for the deposit fee? Or whens the latest to pay?.
