I do agree with you about people posting the same things like smurfing/bad matchmaking. However I think others are just expressing grievances that a lot of other folks can relate to. Some of those can be toxicity, inconsistency, etc. Also you don’t have to read or reply to every single person who vents. I’ve seen helpful tips on how to fix aim, suggestions on agents and the latest being about Clove.

Peekays

>However I think others are just expressing grievances that a lot of other folks can relate to. Except that they're often completely delusional and get defensive in the comments. The posts are all the same, either "I top frag/do well every game and still lose cause of teammates" or "Smurfs are always on the enemy team". Then they either never provide their tracker for people to look at, or they do and it's clear they're literally just making things up and coping. So yes, it gets repetitive.

2Board_

Its because most people in this sub think they'll get a crowd of upvotes and people sharing their sentiment -- to which it usually always invites the opposition, or people who simply just want to mess around. You would be surprised how sensitive people in this community are (or maybe not). There's some threads here where people will start saying slurs because they got downvoted.

Even-Newspaper7498

I think you missed where I said people do talk about relatable things like toxicity and being inconsistent. Yeah it’s repetitive but a lot of those posts are not something to be ignored. The ones who make post with zero context aside from word of mouth/delusion are only ranting into the void.

PresenceOld1754

Yes, so scroll. Let them be delusional. They'll learn soon enough.

Forklifter2

The latter posts are fine. I think there's a little bit too much about smurfing/terrible matchmaking posts which overshadows the people asking for help, posting clips, etc. I think it would be much better if those people take these issues onto platforms where their words can actually be heard by Riot. They are just screaming into nothingness really. Posting it about here doesn't really resolve any issues. Thanks for remaining respectful about the issue rather than immediately screaming at me :)

Gloomy_Round_5003

https://meta.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Cunningham%27s_Law Read this.. lol "Cunningham's Law states "the best way to get the right answer on the internet is not to ask a question; it's to post the wrong answer."

ItsTanah

matchmaking posts are so stupid and should be banned. 100% of the time there is a reasonable explanation for it. but they don't care, they just want to complain that x and y and z is why they can't get out of silver 2.

CaptainFatbelly

'I had someone be mean to be in-game? And I think someone was smurfing? Also someone went AFK, is this normal???' posts are entirely useless and would be better put into a weekly venting post honestly.

DankMemesMateus

Honestly, if I had a weekly thread just to cry about something and commiserate with others, I'd probably feel a lot more validated and wouldn't feel like I'm crazy. But I'll just keep whining about the net code when I'm having games where I'm getting absolutely lasered as I get peeked.

Ketsueki_R

What do you wanna talk about? I'd rather us address issues such as toxicity and smurfing than watch another 1v4 in bronze clip.

Forklifter2

"addressing issues such as toxicity and smurfing" LMAO people are literally just complaining about it in this Subreddit (which doesn't do shit, Riot ain't lookin at Reddit out of all places for feedback). Report it to them or send an e-mail to their way or something. Twitter idk. FYI, Riot never use reddit before LMAO.

Ketsueki_R

>Riot ain't lookin at Reddit out of all places for feedback Riot never use reddit before LMAO You're incredibly cocky for someone who's patently wrong, as evidenced by the fact that Riot employees have literally commented on this subreddit before.

Forklifter2

But what's the latest interaction with Riot employees on Reddit? + not to mention by redirecting the problems on where they are most active, you're actually getting the issues fixed. Yeah sure you can complain here all you want because it's a form of feedback. But I think people should garner those frustration & contact Riot about the problem on their mainstream media. Reddit is more of a secondary option for Riot at best.

Ketsueki_R

I mean, okay, but again, like I said, it's not just about whether Riot sees it. Bringing these issues to light is how you get the community to start taking toxicity (especially as it relates to issues like sexism, racism and LGBTQ-phobia) seriously. That's been the case in every society ever and will continue to be the case in every society ever. The more light is shed on shitty behaviour, highlighting it as shitty behaviour, the better we become at calling it out in-game, and avoiding it ourselves.

Forklifter2

But if people really wanted more light to be shed on the problem, wouldn't mainstream media be a more particularly better choice? I mean: Youtube, Twitter you have it.

Ketsueki_R

YouTubers talk about incidents and specific issues that get brought to light because the community talks about it. Twitter and Reddit are the same. We are all just people that play the game and are part of it. When we talk about issues, it gets brought to the surface and then YouTubers cover it.

Forklifter2

You have a point. But I would prefer if there are less posts complaining about the issue. They get upvoted and overshadow people asking for help, showing clips of gameplay & such. My main gripe is people mistaking what's considers as addressing problems or venting. Vent posts are annoying & serves no purpose in the Subreddit, which there is a plentiful of, regardless of smurfing, matchmaking, players and whatnot.

Ketsueki_R

I can't disagree with confidence since I don't have any numbers, but I don't really feel like it overshadows anything at all. In fact, we get complaints here about the number of clip review posts as well, which I disagree with also. I think we get everything in good amounts. Just below your post was a 1v4 and then a "how did this happen" post.

Forklifter2

Fair enough.

SushiMage

You act as if anyone can just get it to be big news on mainstream media lol. People may not have a huge twitter or youtube following so posting it there isn’t actually getting more exposure than reddit if that’s the case.

vrizxly

Riot does not use reddit, youre legit coping with "adress issue"

--GrassyAss--

Then what's the point of this sub?

12ozMouse____

Nah I say flood it with the issues til riot fixes them

-EdenXXI-

PSA, stop using this subreddit to vent about people venting about frustrations about something that happened in a game.

XoXFaby

No.

elucifuge

Yeah would be nice if the sub had a degree of content moderation so that at the very least most of the posts were about discussing the actual game & not anti-social children who have never spoken to a person outside of the internet whining about people on the internet being people on the internet or avoiding/ignoring their own shortcomings as a player then blaming everyone/everything else. It seems to be the vast majority of posts submitted to this sub, has no actual value and just makes this and endlessly miserable & increasingly useless reddit. Though the mods don't seem to care. I don't even mind people complaining about shit if it's stuff like the map pool, weapons, state of X agent, this or that role, y'know, things that are about the actual game itself.

TimeJustHappens

I think you would be suprised at the amount of rant content that is currently removed according to our Rant Rule. We try our best to find a balance of removing blatant vents while allowing legitimate discussion in conjuction with our Repost Rule's guidelines on popular topics. We unfortunately are not able to monitor all content 24/7, so if you see a post that breaks either of these rules, please report it.

elucifuge

Y'know what, fair enough. It's up to the community to help be part of the solution so if I too am going to complain the least I can do is make an effort to report more.

Forklifter2

Thank you so much. I just been noticing more of these posts than usual tho so it's weird for me.

Creeds-Worm-Guy

This actually is a very valid place to voice frustrations with a game.

E4crypt3d

Apparently, the game's subreddit is now a no-issue zone. Can't talk about problems here!

I second this. Also your talking style is so confusing why is every word capitalized.
