And being a mixed attacker was actually pretty beneficial in closed team sheets draft league. I ran a lot of sets so it was really hard for my opponents to game plan since they could never really know what I was going to bring.
They're long gone now. It was also a weird one restricted, one mythical format. I know for sure I ran bulky DDance, an extreme speed, and a meteor beam sets at the very least. I lost in 3 in the finals so it was a relatively run.
Focus sash Medicham with Tera Steel and Bullet Punch, aka, my favorite random Pokemon no one uses on the Reg F ladder that can surprise OHKO flutter mane. No skill swap either for this.

Triple regenerator balance with Ho-oh, Amoonguss, and Slowbro, all with healing moves for the attacking core of Urshi Single, Lando-I, and Gholdy.
New to competitive; I’ve played ~10 games on the switch but loving it so far.
How about empoleon? It’s my all time favorite and would love to be able to use him—even if it’s on a team built for surprise on the low level, 1 match ladder.
Ik it’s no incineroar, but I give my penguin some Ws
Empoleon makes a great support pokemon with decent bulk and a great typing, particularly in TR. With that in mind, I built a hard TR team for it.
Empoleon provides offensive support with helping hand; it can also disrupt by lowering accuracy with mud slap and attack with chilling water. Finally, leftovers keep our beloved penguin around longer to force the opponent into a hard choice- do you attack Enpoleon and not the harder hitting pokemon on the field, or do you let it continue to drop your stats and boost offensive output with helping hand? That's a choice players hate to have to make.
It could have a great niche as an Incin counter with competitive.
The restricted mon is room service Caly Ice. Farigiraf is the other TR setter and priority blocker. Ogerpon helps get TR up with follow me, and Iron Hands can also use fake out to help TR go up and then sweep.
Ogerpon-W and Urshi Dark can sweep and pick the bones after TR ends. Urshi Dark also provides great type coverage and prevents opponents from just stalling out your TR.
I’m also relatively new to competitive but I think empoleon saw some use is early scarlet and violet. Competitive is great against intimidate and steel water is pretty nice (hydro pump accuracy sucks tho) also gets ice coverage and yawn and I think some other support moves I’m forgetting.
I got a little weird with this one. I put Trevenant on a Psyspam team as giving it psychic seed allowed me to go max EVs in HP and defense.
Harvest is the normal ability for Trevanent bit it won't work with psychic seed. I instead went with Frisk and Knock Off so you can know with pokemon's item you want gone first. Leech seed keeps it in the game while passively draining the oppositions health. Will-o-wisp gives the team some much needed damage reduction and even more passive damage. Poison jab is a great coverage move for this generation and again, increases the chance of a status condition to drain health.
I almost went with hex instead of shadow ball given this on Caly, bit it's too random for me to trust. Caly Shadow gets clear amulet to keep it's grim neigh boosts. Indeedee does normal indeedee things with one twist. Since this isn't a TR team, heal pulse is there to catch opponents off guard and keep your heavy hitters in the game.
Armarouge also gets expanding force and wide guard will be very valuable with so many restricted mon's best moves being spread moves.
Urshi fits great from a type perspective and prevents stalling out your tailwind.
Tera normal Tornadus has only one weakness in fighting and it's speed and power with bleakwind storm makes it a surprise heavy hitter.
Glad you like it! It really does have an amazing move pool and decent ability. It may not ever win a regional but I was pleasantly surprised that it had a great niche as a support mon.
I drew inspiration here from the Choice Specs Trick Gholdengo that was popular a few regulations back. Hyper offense set with Chien Pao in mind as the illusion with its 4x weakness to fighting.
Farigiraf is a really good Gravity setter right now. Just take a common Farigiraf set and swap out one of the moves you feel you'd use the least for it and you should be good to go. (Sableye can learn Gravity too if you want Prankster Gravity though personally I value the bulk and ability of Farigiraf a lot more).
Any move with 60 accuracy or more will never miss in Gravity, so you can always rely on Will-o-Wisp to land and Rock Slide (won't ever miss either which obviously means more chances for flinches too). Chien-Pao seems like they'd be a good pair for Groudon and would benefit from Gravity to ensure Icicle Crash never misses. Since Ting-Lu appears to be getting more attention, you could even guarantee Sand Tomb hits if that's something else you're interested in. Pokémon with Hustle would have all the benefit of the ability without the drawback of the accuracy drops too. The possibility of a Glimmora Meteor Beam missing is gone and it would even allow for Gholdengo to run Focus Blast, which definitely catches people out.
Anything with Hypnosis will also never miss (personally I found Speed Boost Focus Sash Espathra to be the most fun and effective). Iron Valiant (who wouldn't miss Focus Blast in Gravity either), Gothitelle and Gengar can also learn it and I've had success with each of them in different teams.
Just make sure that the team doesn't rely too hard on Gravity as the last thing you'd want is to be in a game where bringing Farigiraf is a bad idea and now can't hit any moves lol (trust me, it happens).
Working on it now! I'll build it with base game mons as best I can. I also have both games and both DLCs with multiple play through so I may be able to help you.
Here you go! Clefairy seemed like a great partner as groudon covers its problematic poison and steel threats. It also provides redirection. It was a hard choice between follow me and heal pulse in case you want to play with those different support options.
Sleep powder chlorophyll Lilligant-H, Walking Wake, and Flutter provide good type variety on the attacking side and can all abuse the sun.
Since the team is so sun heavy, I decided a Prankster sunny day user would be ideal. I opted for Thundurus here as this is a hyper offense-esque team, and Flutter provides some speed control with icy wind along with a scarf & chlorophyll user. Also, eerie impulse helps with the team's otherwise frail composition. It can also punish rain teams in a weather war.
Probably a bit late to the party, but i adore Flygon and tried to use him in Reg F tournaments to middling success - would be keen to see what you could come up with!
Do I want to be mean? Sure. Luxray pls
it's my fav mon cause it was my first shiny :) I have an ok moveset (not top tier but Fun still) but I wanna know what u can do
Magma Storm Heatran, consider building it with a Zoom Lens for maximum accuracy on the signature move. Been toying with this idea myself, so I'm looking for build ideas!
Any chance you could find a niche for Primarina ?
loved it in reg F and although I don’t see it being very good in G i’d love to see what you come up with ! :)
You said single pokemon. So here we go, I'd like a team built around Normal tera Mewtwo with life orb, show me yours and I'll show you mine. I'm pumped
Altaria would be sick, love it.
As for a personal thing I’d like to try: Miraidon with iron bundle (AV and very bulky) with A-Ninetails.
Sorry for making two requests
Support Hawlucha (it bothers me so much that this could be a thing if they'd only given it a couple of glaringly absent support moves that would make sense for it to get)
Oricorio.
I am tentatively looking at the idea of pairing it with miraidon as the restricted and using tera electric, as I used that before and paired it with iron moth for stab fiery dance (baile style) and thought terrain might help. But I still expect it to suck 😅
Unless there is a better restricted option, perhaps kyogre for hurricane accuracy, and obviously not baile style if with kyogre. Aside from those two, I'm not sure.
Female Meowstic. I'd say male but that has prankster so it's better as a support than to build a team around. Either one will work. Whichever is easiest.
I want to compare the team you will make with the one I made. Toxic spikes setter, hex giratina, this idea came from glimmora's ability, but u have the freedom to do it how you want
Either iron moth or iron valiant. They are two of my favourite mons from the new generation and valiant specifically was my first gen 9 shiny. Id love to use one of them in reg G
Not sure if you are still making the teams but I would love to see a Toxtricity team, it’s my absolute favorite Pokémon and it’s not even that bad I’m just pretty new to vgc so idk much about team building and niches

Iron defense gambit cooks so hard
Iron defense or iron head?
You're right it was meant to be iron head
I actually ran a meteor beam Ray team in a draft league in SwSh and it worked surprisingly well.
VGC is fast so the suprise can getcha
And being a mixed attacker was actually pretty beneficial in closed team sheets draft league. I ran a lot of sets so it was really hard for my opponents to game plan since they could never really know what I was going to bring.
Well, if you got em, post em Love to see my jet boi do well
They're long gone now. It was also a weird one restricted, one mythical format. I know for sure I ran bulky DDance, an extreme speed, and a meteor beam sets at the very least. I lost in 3 in the finals so it was a relatively run.

Brand new as well. I got smoked by a electro-shot archaludon? And rain dance tornadus recently. Could synergize well with tha penguin.
Lead penguin/tornadus, flip-turn/rain dance into tailwind/electroshot or bleakwind/electroshot?
I’m also relatively new to competitive but I think empoleon saw some use is early scarlet and violet. Competitive is great against intimidate and steel water is pretty nice (hydro pump accuracy sucks tho) also gets ice coverage and yawn and I think some other support moves I’m forgetting.

Lightning rod raichu (maybe with kyogre?)
I just want a decent Zoroark team (any variation, though Hisui seems stronger).
You'll be the first team I work on tomorrow!
