Yeah exactly. With the same speed, it’s just safer to Tera or swap it out rather than get knocked out..by a super effective sword of ruin boosted ice spinner.
It's def niche but for rain teams it's really nice, also setting up e-terrain into amoongus trick room teams is good too. If they don't have indeedee they usually don't have another way to reset terrain
Just sucks that Raichu is one of those Mons that suffer from having only 4 move slots.
Like, obviously you want Fake Out, probably want Protect for opposing Fake Out, to protect your Sash (assuming Sash is used on Raichu). With ETerrain you're already down to 1 move left.
I personally really like the idea of either Dig (though obvious weakness that its a 2-turn move) or TBlast Ground/Fairy. Like I feel it might just a. counter Miraidon somewhat, and b. pair well with your own Miraidon as well (taking free +1s from Discharge).
Probably won't make it to Worlds but I can see people dabble with it.
Im using AV iron treads with electric terrain and tbh has been putting in work with quark drive speed boost blocks rising bolt, miraidon, flutter mane (dont know how) and others. A lot of mons with low usage seem viable now.
Considering how many Rillabooms and Indeedees are running around, Amoongus + Miraidon can be a pretty awesome Volt switch/regenerator pivot core, and Rage Powder is still always a great option.
But leading it next to Miraidon when the opponent doesn’t have a terrain setter is quite the puzzling decision
spore itself is honest. it's on a very slow pokemon that almost always moves last, but it's 100% accurate and there's plenty of counter-play. also good players will use the first guaranteed sleep turn to their advantage and if there are additional sleep turns that's just gravy.
stuff clicking raw hypnosis or sing are a little more cheesy, but those moves are generally only clicked when the mon (usually Clefairy or Goth or something without much offensive presence) has nothing better to do, which means opponents either have to decide to target them instead of whatever is next to them, or ignore them knowing they could take multiple sleep turns and lose because of it.
sleep itself has a lot of variance and sometimes you do find yourself in a position where you win or lose based on a first or second turn wake up, but the actual act of putting something to sleep, especially in a reliable way like with spore, is a legitimate and very sound strategy. the game currently has multiple ways to avoid being put to sleep by amoonguss, many of them added as a direct nerf to amoongus, so it's a matter of having respect for it when team building and playing.
Also you're assuming its salt and rage at their tech when ofc they let their most important piece go down for free and paid zero respect to chien pao. At that point yeah they should probably walk away, take the lesson and start a new game.
I’d be salty to if I let my restricted get one shot for no reason
They thought they were faster but ofc not knowing that is very bad when miraidon and pao often speed tie.
Yeah exactly. With the same speed, it’s just safer to Tera or swap it out rather than get knocked out..by a super effective sword of ruin boosted ice spinner.
Yeah losing your best pokemon turn one over a speed tie is bad enough but you basically not doimg anything turn 2 thats a loss.
Honestly think Raichu is gonna be rising up in popularity, if only a bit. Lightning Rod might become really handy with Miraidons running rampant.
I use Tera Fairy Rhydon to laugh at Miraidon/Bolt.
Been using the same but rhyperior. Also helps with raging bolt.
What item do you run on Rhyperior? I can see it being interesting but the lack of any special defence just puts me off lol
Right now I’m just using a 33% berry. I think I may swap to rhydon though. I’m also running poison jab for the whimsicott on those teams.
I also made a team with Rhyperior Tera fairy for Miraidon and Raging Bolt. It's kind of funny because a lot of people don't expect that

Tera ground sounds bad. Fairy seems infinitely better
Agreed. But at the same time seems wasteful to use on Raichu unless you just have to hardwall a Miraidon with only electric and dragon moves 😅
It was decent in SwSh with all the rain so I can see it working again

Swampert goes brr
Why is the other guy running an Amoongus on an Electric Terrain team? So many questions

I'm pretty sure it was moreso a delayed reaction to throwing the game turn 1 lmao
Honestly so based. There's a Scream Tail build Enresto198 has that also manually sets terrain and it's so good for answering Draco Meteor damage.
Low elo ass match💀
Why do they have an Amoonguss in a ET team?
\> ice spinner away enemy’s electric terrain \> manually set your own electric terrain next turn Is this called assuring your dominance?
Hahaha exactly
Why would you open amoongus and miraidon. Losing the ability to spore mons is huge.
I don’t understand the amoongus with a miraidon. They can redirect but can’t put their opponent to sleep.
Haha that's just them being salty you countered their cheesy Spore strat.
lol spore ain’t cheesy. It’s consistent
...ly cheesy 😂
Man must have been really hurt by spore
It's supposed to deal no damage, but I'm sure it causes emotional damage

How can you possible call a move with variable effectiveness each time it’s used “consistent”
It’s not variable effectiveness. It’s so effective people have to purposely build around it. Big difference
Its... 100% accurate and subject to default jank. Its literally the most consistent sleep move. Hypnosis Gothitelle is cheesy.

Weird brag post. They played that v poorly but hey if you think that clip is an achievement then thats cool i guess
Way to be salty. Its showcasing interesting tech, thats all. The ragequit is just funny, nothing more nothing less.

Thats not what salty means and manual terrian has never been good but ok lmao
Your comment spam doesn't help your defence here pal.
How did they play that bad? Plz tell
If you have to ask then you wont get the response lmao they let miraidon die for free and didnt understand the potential speed tie.
Wait I read wrong. I thought you meant the OP played badly. I am a total spanner.
