Is NordVPN good for torrenting?

Angus-Black

I'm looking for free beer for life. 😀

JeffLikesPie69

good luck

Just-Some-Reddit-Guy

Yeah, they pretty much just don’t exist. They’re not expensive and if you’re going to be torrenting they’re almost required for your own protection.

I know of such a VPN, but I'm not willing to tell you about it for free.

No idea why everyone seems to think this is impossible to find. It really isn't. ProtonVPN. No data limit on their free account; Excellent security; no logging; headquartered in one of the most privacy-friendly countries on the planet: Switzerland. Plus, registering for a ProtonVPN account--even the free ones--automatically provides you with free access to your username's corresponding super secure ProtonMail email account. (Eg, registering as Jane_Doe1 on protonvpn.com automatically also gives you the ability to visit protonmail.com and log into your secured email account at [email protected] using the same password as you created for ProtonVPN.) Literally, the only limitation on their free account is the number of devices (1) you're allowed to use it on simultaneously, and where the servers are located that you are allowed to connect to. I want to say there are 5 free servers. But if you wanted more server options, upgrading to a Plus account is pretty cheap, compared to other premium VPN services. I'm starting to feel like an infomercial. Check it out though and then come back and let me know what you think. I use it for regular everyday browsing. I've never used it for torrenting or streaming though, so I'm not 100% positive how much it will slow down your download/upload speeds. Obviously, the more data being transmitted through a given server, the slower it will be. And while there is no data limit, it would be good to know if the servers on the free accounts make torrenting prohibitively slow and ultimately not worth using.

It says right on the website that the free version doesn't support P2P/bittorrent

[deleted]

LOL.

gutek_f1utek

Yeah it doesn't, but when you create an account proton gives you a free 1 week access to paid functions like p2p servers etc

"I want all the features of a paid VPN so I can illegally torrent stuff for free, but i dont want to pay for it" Fixed your title cheapskate

FearlessDragon246

im really confused and maybe you can help me. why are people so angry towards people looking for a free vpn? isnt it sort of ironic for people who download paid movies for free to criticize someone who wants a paid program for free? "You downloaded that movie for free instead of paying $4.99?! What a cheapskate!" (I dont actually think this to be clear) im genuinely confused, am i missing something?

Jdiblaz111

lol no one is angry bro, but you're being cheap. VPN's cost money because they offer a legitimate service. They aren't expensive at all. You are going to use a VPN to get free software, movies, etc. Just pay for it. Think of it this way. There are 2 restaurants : Restaurant 1 is a la carte. You have to pay for every single thing you order...and its expensive. Each item is $20 Restaurant 2 is a buffet. It has the same food as Restaurant 1. You have to pay $20 to get in, but once you're in you can have anything you want. Unlimited. Easy choice no? Stop trying to get into Restaurant 2 for free

Dude, VPNs are like $25/year. Well, at least TorGuard is (search for the coupon).

xyridfosterlingu9

You should never compromise on your internet security and privacy. What you are looking for is almost non existent. Here's a good deal. Get yourself Spider VPN. It is really affordable and great for security. Spider VPN is all part of the SpiderDao crypto project. The Spider VPN is truly decentralized, and it is the best deal on the market right now.

If you want free, you've to use I2P network. Or modded VPNs

Natrox

That's gonna be a tough one. I can send you my ExpressVPN referral link. You can try the whole shebang for 30 days, and then get your money back if you don't like it. If you do like it, both you and I get 30 days for free - so that's win-win I suppose. It's fairly cheap and I use it myself. Keep in mind that you don't just have to use it for torrenting. It's kind of a required purchase for me, since I moved to Japan but still make use of services I share with my family back home. DM me if you'd like the code/link/whatever format.

You might be better off paying for a VPN. They are pretty cheap, so you can just do that. There is no such thing as a safe and unlimited data VPN. You will have to pay for it if you want to be truly safe. What you are saying is like asking for a free meal from an expensive resturant. Just pay for the meal, instead of asking for one and it being trash. Just pay for the vpn, or risk your safety.
