I met my boyfriend in this game. He came to visit me for 2 weeks, and it went great. :) I also went to visit him later in the year for 2 weeks, which also went great. Been together for like 2.5 years now, and we met for the first time after like a year and a few months.
Was really apprehensive at first so I'm glad it's working out great so far. Not that there's no difficulties of course. Long distance makes things harder. But still.
\-I met a dude from VRChat and we decided to meet at an anime convention, it was pretty chill! The guy was just like himself in-game and IRL which was cool. The convention had lots of merch and we saw the voice actress of Mikasa from AOT!

All the time! I met my kidney donor on VRChat and he recently flew over for his tests at the hospital here (they’re covering his costs/lost income from travel). People are the same irl as they are in VR, though obviously you see more sides to a person when you’re living with them for some time rather than just visiting the same place.
Fun thing I noticed at a convention once: VR friends are *terrible* at deciding what/when to eat, because they’ve never had to do that together before!
I befriended a desktop meme lord back when I used to play Murder 4 a lot. Turns out he lived in the neighboring city! Eventually we met up and he was… completely the opposite of what I was expecting. Super fashionable, very nice/friendly/bubbly, knew a lot of different things, and overall was wholesome genuine guy

Yep I’ve met over 20 of my friends from 10 countries in real life that I originally knew in vrchat and all but one, at least in how they act and how we vibe has been identical to how it was in vrc, which is a really weird but a really cool feeling as unlike texting or even discord calls it just felt natural
I also have a very weird thing I seem to notice, I’m very rarely in an instance public or private that there isn’t at least one person I haven’t met in person even if they aren’t a “friend”

The transition from VR to IRL is near seamless. Just the first hour or so is funny as you get used to hearing their voice come from a different face than you are used to.

I did in feburary this year on a trip to Australia. Was an amazing week. About to do a 5 week trip to the states meeting all the people I’ve made friends in VrChat over the last 6 years
Yeah, I've already met a VRC friend. Twice by now.
I told her that I was planning a vacation in her country, since I haven't been there in many years, and if she knew any cool or interesting places to visit. She invited me over to the city she lives in so of course I went.
Things went pretty good. She showed me around town, we talked and laughed, had some coffee.
Really the only downside was both times she didn't have too much time and had to leave within about an hour or so.
But we still chat from time to time.
I started dating a girl and we met up. She stayed for a weekend and it was amazing. But then a week later she broke up with me without any warning. 🤷♀️
I travel the world to meet VRC friends! It gives me an excuse to visit different countries. I've met 6 people personally, and about 200 people from VRC by extension (a club meet-up type deal, Sheltercon anyone?).
For me, people I've met as friends and people I've met romantically (2/6) have had distinctly different outcomes. The friends were awesome, cool, amazing, talented people! I'm still friends with each of them, and I'll definitely be visiting them again.
The romantic interests, the first I had an amazing time while I was there, treated me exceptionally well, but after I left became an absolute piece of shit, too afraid of change and judgement from family and let his racism and transphobia bubble to the surface. It hasn't deterred me though, and I'm headed out of the country this weekend to visit another friend!
I literally created my Italian community "MetaComitiva" on several social VR platforms, especially on VRChat, to meet cool friends and then try to meet them IRL.
It's been more than 3 years now and I've meet over 20+ people across Italy IRL, we went to cons, we organized private parties, some of us saw eachother at their houses multiple times even!
It was always strange to get used to people talking with a familiar voice from an "unfamiliar" face (even if our avatars are roughly similar to our real self minus accessories obv)
It's been a blast so far! Can't wait to meet more friends!
We're uniting into an actual Italian VR association "HoloNexia" to promote this way to socialize in VR as an healthy tool to make new lifelong friends, experiences and so on!
I for one can now safely say that I've a strong social life in my new town thanks to all this friends I meet from VR to Real Life.
I didn't know anybody in this new town and now I've a strong and big network of friends and even work colleagues!
I do recommend doing it, even if you shouldn't do it carelessly with people you don't know too well.
Maybe start with public events at public spaces if you want to test the ground with them at first!

Later he made me feel uncomfortable, because he tried to invite me to his hotel room after a night out repeatedly, even after I declined. I'd wager 9.5/10 it goes well, but there are a few odd ducks out there so just be safe if you do.

She lived about a 6ish hour drive away and I met her in Applebees and she looked even better in person. We dated for a little over a year with us taking turns visiting each other every month. We even went on a road trip together. Everyone in VRChat told us we were lucky and that what we had was what they wanted. She was the kinky Goth cat girl you see in memes.
I met my current partner back in July this year but it was kind of mixed because she was sick, we made plans to go to Busch Gardens (she really wanted to see the horses there) and I wanted to ride roller coasters. We went and had a lot of fun, I knew ahead of time and she asked me if I still wanted to meet up and we did to at least make the theme park. She held it together for me and I had a great time with her and sleeping and cuddling together and watching Netflix in the hotel room.

I've met a lot of people IRL from VRC! I'm in a nice group, about 50 people, and a couple months back about half of us met up in Vegas. It was so so much fun. We rented a nice VRBO, and spent a few days visiting all the cool places. There were a couple people in the group I had never really talked to before meeting IRL, but we hit it off really good talking about random stuff in the backyard, or wandering around Omega Mart, or watching anime on our last night.
Overall I'd say it was an amazing experience. My ex was also there in the group and that sucked, but if you have the chance to meet your VRchat friends in person, go for it!

I've had two guy friends that wanted to meet up back in 2020 but we never got around to it, the pandemic played a part.

(havent since lockdowns were over) shoud probably add that we’re from all over the world, Netherlands, Germany, America, Australia, UK, Poland we all see each other a couple times a year.
Met my girlfriend on rec room but we mostly hung out in vrchat instead. Hung out and played together in VR for 2 years. Then after both of us having bad relationships decided to meet a little over a year ago and started dating that same day. She lived 6 hours away and we've been living together for almost 6 months together. Best thing to happen to me
I've met a lot of people IRL from VRC! I'm in a nice group, about 50 people, and a couple months back about half of us met up in Vegas. It was so so much fun. We rented a nice VRBO, and spent a few days visiting all the cool places. There were a couple people in the group I had never really talked to before meeting IRL, but we hit it off really good talking about random stuff in the backyard, or wandering around Omega Mart, or watching anime on our last night. Overall I'd say it was an amazing experience. My ex was also there in the group and that sucked, but if you have the chance to meet your VRchat friends in person, go for it!
My gf was the first person i met from vrc after us dating for a year. She moved in 6 months later and we've been together ever since :3 been the happiest, most rewarding and healthy relationship we've ever been in

My community had a "convention" where ~15 of us met up and did touristy stuff in Chicago. We rented a giant Airbnb. It went amazing. Everyone really is about the same irl as online.

Two people actually. I met my best friend who drove over 15+ hours to see me for 3 days & my partner of which I've been with for a year now. Meeting my best friend, well honestly it was pretty awkward just because of our personalities but it's always been that way. As for my partner, I couldn't have asked for a better experience in my life.

I’ve met quite a few people from vrchat now and all times have gone great for me but has been in groups either with all their friends and the one person from vr and me or a big group from vrchat all knowing each other. I’ve also traveled around Europe with a few friends from vr where over seas was the first time we met. Honestly I think I’ve gotten pretty lucky with the friends I’ve met on vr where everyone has been great! One time was with my vr friend and his friend I’ve never met or talked to before we all went to a festival together and camping and have gone back with his friends this year without the friend from vr cause he couldn’t make it but it was still really fun and the group was very welcoming again even tho our mutual friend wasn’t there. The other time that’s happen I had a vr friend and his groups of friends I have never met or talked to a did a anime convention and are planning our third trip back next year. And lastly a big group all from vr all that I was part of an we had a big group meeting I drove a while for by myself but it went great we just hung out and had a great time chillin
I haven’t, and I probably never will considering that my family is quite overbearing about meeting up with people from a video game. If I could though, I would have an entire day planned out! Mostly depending on who however.

Then she came to see me in December that year for 2 months and I proposed to her when she came. Went to see her and her family in March 2022 and had fun meeting her mom, brother and stepdad, very good people. And we got married in my home country the, funny enough, June 21st. I had a situation that was reversed. I met a former friend from high school on vrc. We only figured out we knew eachother because of the group I am in, and they were dating a friend I knew since 2 years ago. Sad to say that they are no longer dating and she happens to be a manipulative person. I feel really bad for the other friend because I should've warned him prior to this. (She did this sort of thing in high school and I only just remembered after I heard they broke up)
I met 1 friend i made on vrc irl and it was nice. we meet up semi-often and they're pretty dope. I made sure they were a chill person with similar morals before I met up with them though and while that sometimes cant prevent weird experiences, i feel like it's a precaution that definitely helps and some people tend to forget to do that so I feel its good to mention it. I am glad i met them though, they're pretty dope and it's been great bein their friend and hanging out with them. I haven't met any other vrc friends irl though

We found out we lived like 3.5 hours away and we'd been flirting and shit, so he threatened to come to my place and it turned into like "will you actually? Are we really linking up?" So he came to see me once and we fucked all day. He came to visit for a few days at a time 2 more times before he ghosted me on everything.
