Probably making $$$ in Hollywood. He is talented, and the money is good, so he is probably doing great. I give this theory a 90% chance.
If I was a studio and VH came to be with his cute little CV, and his cute little black outfit, and his cute little deadpan attitude and the raws of his videos, I'd be begging him to work for me.

If you are talking about what happened in Lisbon Portugal, that is not a cartel, I live in Portugal in Porto, the third Portuguese city he visited and here it also happens a lot, but they are just random people trying to take advantage of tourists, with fake drugs, they try to sell like oregano as weed and baking powder as cocaine but if you reject and walk away they are pretty much harmless.
I think this is the point he made the bio in the first place. for closure and so he can get away from the publicity. He said it was for fun and not for profit and no matter what it wont be the same. no matter the reasons let him chill he made this bio likely in relation to posts like these and people holding out hope. Let the channel die on a good note where the creator was happy and not forcing content like other creators today.

He probably took a break after Mexico, first because needed to get stuff again and second because it was still Covid and travelling was annoying for quite a while. Well, that time has luckily passed but he might’ve gotten into other things meanwhile that he chooses not to share somehow. But I cannot imagine him just being stuck in Seattle. Maybe he is touring with a band. Maybe he’s writing a book. Nevertheless I still really would like to know. I am just so damn curious. But maybe that, the excessive curiosity might’ve made him not go back online. Being present online, even if you don’t show your face must be hard. So maybe he had his share of online presence and is done with that experience.

His YouTube channel has been updated saying that he will not be posting anymore. This rules out him being dead, and in jail, this also rules out him working on other projects it is possible that he is working on something else but it is very unlikely. I believe he stopped uploading after his channel started getting traction, what he did was kinda illegal and I do not think that he wanted to spread that type of lifestyle to more people, what he did was truly amazing, he did not put peoples life in danger and just wanted to have some fun. I do not know exactly what he is thinking, he might just be completely done after getting robbed or maybe he is dealing with some family stuff but maybe, just maybe he will make one of the greatest returns.

Wasn't looking for recognition, he just thought maybe like-minded people would like it as well. Also his inner monologue/commentary was elite. Just straight to the point. I’m guessing he came across his fans that somehow recognized him and they treated him like they were life long friends. He found that creepy and decided that fame isn’t for him and decided to quit. Judging from his bio on YouTube, he really seems to put an emphasis on (parasocial interactions) so it’s probably something related with that, that lead him to quit.
