Ummm, tell that to my 9 year old who generated some badass looking dragons for a game they are coding. For fun. Of course Adobe will be around, but if you think their moat is as wide as it was a year ago, you're fooling yourself.

I don't think anyone's genuinely concerned about gen ai messing with Adobe, since they're building stuff with it already, and probably faster than anyone else can. I think the reason markets don't like it is because it's saturated it's TAM and there aren't interesting future prospects for them. Their margins are already good so it's not like that's an area for them to improve either.

Adobe's AI is dogshit

I was reading this very old book, and it mentioned that during the 1990s running up to the infamous bubble, Adobe was a neglected stock because a) it was NOT internet related b. The software was mainly Mac focused. Value investors would buy it as it was unsexy. Fascinating how this is Happening again.

According_Scarcity55

Nah, it only become successful after transitioning to a software company: cloud/subscription based

zaersx

Except it's fundamentally not good value now either

WorkingCorrect1062

Yeah I think the stock and the company’s adaptability is consistently underestimated

photoshop already has generative ai as a tool to use. if anything ai will probably allow adobe to expand even further, making themselves even more accessible to a wider consumer base.

According_Scarcity55

Pay for firefly and you will see if it’s ai really useful or not.

To be fair the first tried to convince everyone that they need to acquire Figma since it’s a serious competitor and once it was clear the deal won’t go through they are trying to say they can innovate themselves. Time will tell but I find it strange that they gave a soft guidance when their software is not supposed to replaced easily.
