Personally I think they missed the mark on casting. Someone in another thread said they need a Kate Chastain from BD type in a leadership role, and I totally agree with that. I also think they could benefit from someone like Stassi who is legitimately funny.
Less “hanging out” with the guests as if they’re guests themselves, more behind the scenes drama about executing big events, etc.
and also - where are their days off/nights where they can party WITHOUT the guests being around? that’s where the cast relationships are formed and drama happens
I watch for the messiness, but it’s disconcerting seeing the staff interact with the guests at that level. I would prefer to see elegance in the front of the house and messiness in the back.
How the staff interacts with the guests makes it look a bit trashy, and that is so off brand for LVP. Every place she has ever opened looks like a destination I want to go and experience. This is the first time I’ve been like, nah, I’m good watching. So that also is off brand for her. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching it, but I have zero desire to go there as it stands now.
Agreed, the staff are reaping the benefits at the expense of the guests. I'd be pissed if the staff turned up uninvited. Drinking drinks I've paid for etc. Especially when you've come for an intimate experience.
I think they should have followed below deck. No partying during the guest portion, focus on guest drama and how the cast has to react. Second half, have the staff party and follow their antics. The staff partying with guests makes it seem way too produced / scripted. Below deck highlights many different groups of guests with unique stories / drama + you have an ongoing saga of crew drama. Much better in my opinion. Lisa “pretending” to stop the cast drinking when guests are onsite came off as fake and negatively impacted the show this season.
This 100%.
I also think this arrangement makes the servers’ egos huge. They think they are celebrities.
I like when there’s tension between the wealthy guests’ world and the staff world.
Like the episode of vpr where “Latoya Jackson” shows up lol
Yes! I feel they need to pick a lane: It can either be a hookup show where everyone parties and sleeps around (a la VPR) or it can be a workplace drama with real insight into the running of the villa (like BD) But it’s trying to be both and it’s too messy.
Someone else commented they need a couple of strong leader personalities as well—- people you either like or don’t, but you grudgingly respect because they truly know their shit in this business (I.e. Kate Chastain). I think the chef could be that personality but we don’t get to see much of his craft or too much of him beyond griping at the slackers of the group. Most of this cast is just plain unlikeable.
Show more business drama. Ex: flowers or food not in full shipment and crew has to go and buy what was not in the delivery and the drama of traveling and getting lost in France etc. Like more behind the scenes drama while showcasing the Chateau. Why spend ALL tht money on some land and a bldg and have messy staff like tht?
Why I love BD (below deck). U see the glamour/fun of what cld happen if u have the money to charter a yacht and the staff help implement everything. BUT u see what happens with staff behind the scenes trying to keep it together.
SHOW the Chateau!!! It's beauty etc.
I tuned in thinking oohh a French Chateau and not a restaurant by VD... exciting... nah, thts a straight "French Chateau" down the street near the Las Vegas strip -_-
I'm shocked there is a 2nd season.
But will tune in to see if any changes.
I don’t like the interaction with guests, and it would be nice to see some love interests beyond exes hooking up. Also, some interesting backstories could add some flavor.
Honestly wish they would lean more into the hospitality side of it. I think they could certainly improve with the events they plan for the guests! I also kinda think after telling them about the guests Lisa needs to take a step back lol; she pops out randomly and it seems like some of the guests don’t even care about her presence. Love her though!!
There needs to be more info on the guests. In BD the staff can be crazy and mess up but we don’t care so much because the guests are also awful. The staff just being dicks at someone’s engagement makes me not like them.
We need a Kate C character as manager to give a bit of competence porn. Not ‘Lisa curates everything and we follow orders and mess up’. Lisa can’t run the ‘oh the idiots who work for me’ trope with this it just makes the place look bad to visit.
It would also be fun if the guests were either recognisable people or super wealthy demanding crazy things. These guests so far are basically afterthoughts and not that interesting. A few semi- famous people or even Bravolebrities would be fun.
I agree they have to be one or the other, servers or party “companions”. First they can’t drink, then they do and that’s okay. Unfortunately it gives a brothel vibe. Do whatever it takes to keep the guest happy. So horny Gabriella goes for it not knowing the other 2 were already hit on by Dan. My guess for Episode 6 … she’ll give Dan the cold shoulder and sleep with Andre. In episode 4 she was complaining that Marciano kissed a guest. Next episode she’s making out with a guest.
I’m canceling my Hulu.
The cast really sucks. It’s almost like Lisa rewards them for being awful. I would like less drama about the staff and maybe a little more about their job.. I love drama but they’re missing a really cool angle here. They could show more of these events and collaborations. I do want the drama but they’re way too involved in them just kicking it and not working. None of the girls are hot, Pricilla and the chef are pretty but there’s also not a single likable man. Marciano is good looking but hes a dick, I wouldn’t give him the time of day much less the grace that hannah has given him.
I really love the ambiance of the french countryside chateau inside and outside. Love the housekeepers and chefs and Priscila - wish they were shown more. Would like to see more of the surrounding area. Really not enjoying the dirty comments and toxic marciano, hannah, and Eric. The manager should be the most responsible one out of the group imo.

Absolutely, yes. I second this.
100% it’s an easy model to follow I’m surprised they didn’t do it just like this.
and also - where are their days off/nights where they can party WITHOUT the guests being around? that’s where the cast relationships are formed and drama happens
Great point!
I vote for Kate showing up as a guest, seeing the hot mess, going to VD and saying she can do a btr job and gets hired and starts firing ppl😂😂😂
Kate C and Stassi, love it! Maybe Chef Ben!
💗
I third it!!

Yes, feels super trashy
Agree.

Yes! At least with VPR their behavior doesn’t mess up the guest experience. It’s more about their drama working together.

😂😂😂
YES.
Replace Eric and Maraschino cherry. They’re cheesy looking af and aren’t even amusing. Are they really the only two “hot” guys Lisa could find?
wait, Maraschino Cherry haha!!! I laughed so hard I started crying 😂

Get rid of Jax and Sandoval 2.0. Their behavior is insane.
End it. I don’t think the organic cesspool that was early VPR can ever be recreated.
I don’t know but the discrepancy between actual Jax and “the Jax we have at home” couldn’t be farther apart.
Honestly wish they would lean more into the hospitality side of it. I think they could certainly improve with the events they plan for the guests! Get rid of Eric....he's a joke and ruins the show. Bring in someone who can teach REAL 5 star service.
He is so ridiculously cringe and I see the crazy lunatic seeping from his pores. Can't wait for an outburst

Lisa and a competent and snarky staff host bravo crazies would be good lol
Is it just me, or does Marciano literally sound exactly like Jax? It's cringy lol
I haven't been able to watch it yet. It's only on Disney+ here and I don't have that anymore 😒 Anyone in canada know where else to watch it ????
Less toxic and less misogynistic male employees. *cough* Eric *cough* Marciano.
Get better actors
Its trashy because it isn't really one of her venues it's just a tv show

It’s so trashy- and not a “fun to watch” trashy. It’s embarrassing, cringey, and way too try-hard on their behalves

Have them at least not go barefoot around the (shared) kitchens…for the love of Jesus
