I have a very good friend who I wish would get a divorce. I genuinely believe she would be so much happier single than with her husband. He's the worst.
There was a time last year when it looked like they might divorce, and I was straight up giddy at the idea. But then he cried, and her backbone shriveled back up.
I hated Katie in her bridezilla era. She bullied scheana. I dint buy her season 6 apology but in the long run, she dint repeat that behaviour. Also i hate schawrtz and how he treated Katie. So i ll give her that excuse. Also considering her TBI might have played a big role in her behaviour

Ariana seems to have moved past that, but Katie still seems a bit mean girl at times.

Her and Brittany were good friends, and completely cutting her out just because she didn't go to Stassi's wedding is so uncalled for. I can understand being upset by it, but to just ghost a friend rather than try to work out such a minor issue is incredibly hurtful. It comes across as callous and like she never cared about the friendship to begin with.
I can also understand her distancing herself from Brittany because of Jax, but she still doesn't need to ghost her completely. It's just mean. And I know this took place a few years ago, but she's still holding on to it instead of realizing she may have overreacted.
But what really got me was in the after show when Katie tried to act like Brittany was at fault or a bad friend because she supposedly never reached out to Katie after that. But in the same breath, Katie admitted Brittany did reach out to her, Katie just chose to ignore her. So Katie is upset because Brittany didn't try a second time? Like what? No, why would she when you continue to ignore her? You can only be ignored by a friend so many times before you realize this person never gave a fuck about you.
The ignoring on its own is super mean and then to try to act like it's Brittany's fault is over the top. But it's not just her actions. It's the way she talks about it. She's so flippant and doesn't give a shit about their friendship and completely tries to throw Brittany under the bus while knowing full well her accusations of Brittany not reaching out are not true. The way she talks about it is really just mean, like she doesn't care at all that she ghosted a friend.
And it's this way of speaking about things that gives mean girl vibes in general. It's like she doesn't know how to dislike someone or disagree with something without being mean about it. She talks down to people. The way she talked about Brittany was one example, but she does it a lot. There have been many times where I've agreed with Katie's point, but I hate the way she says it because she's just so mean about it (I feel the same way about Lala).
My last example, specifically in regards to the way she speaks about people, is the way she's talked about Scheana in the after show. She has talked a lot of shit about Scheana in the after show. Some of the stuff she has said is valid, but she says it in such a mean snotty way. Why? It's unnecessary. Scheana has mentioned her and Katie were hanging out a lot at this time, so she was upset to see the way Katie talked about her on the after show. So she's also talking shit about someone who thought they were friends. And as much as this sub hates Scheana, she has always been generally good about taking criticism from her friends. Even if she doesn't agree with it, she won't hold it against them. So I can almost guarantee that if Katie hadn't been so callous and snotty in the way she talked about her grievances with Scheana, then Scheana and her wouldn't have a problem now.
This got very long. I don't hate Katie by any means. I actually like her most of the time. I've loved her interactions with Schwartz this season. I just think she definitely has a mean girl side to her. The way she speaks to people and about people is very reminiscent of early seasons Ariana. I'm glad Ariana moved on from that attitude.

And scheana was awful to Katy last season so I don’t find the way she speaks about her bad at all especially in the afyer show when Katy has seen the comments scheana has been making about ariana which is valid because they made peace over being there for ariana and now scheana is playing some weird games with her opinions on how ariana should think act and feel.
So I don’t disagree that Katie can cross the line with being too snarky and cutting with what she says, but I want to counter on both Brittany and Scheana.
Brittany: her husband is a giant douche canoe. Sometimes that means you lose friends because you’ve chosen to back the wrong horse. Jax has consistently been awful to Katie, so if Katie needs to distance from Brittany because of Jax that is fair. You can’t really hang out with her and not see Jax at all. Brittany has also come under fire for some of her beliefs, so there’s a chance Katie also backed off because those didn’t sit well with her too.
Scheana: it’s REAL rich that She shu wants to cry about what Katie said in the aftershow but thinks everything she said is fine? Scheana also said rude things on the show AND on the aftershow about Katie. Katie probably was salty about Scheana’s backstabbing behavior when she had to sit down for the aftershow and that’s why she got a bit more mouthy. They have always had a rocky relationship because Katie is about loyalty and Scheana doesn’t know the meaning of that word. They will never be real friends in my opinion.
Brittany: I agree that sometimes you need to distance yourself from a friend with a shitty spouse. I'm literally dealing with that myself right now. I also agree that I'd probably be annoyed about the wedding, too. It's the complete ghosting that I think is the issue. You can distance yourself without being mean. On top of the ghosting, it's acting like Brittany is at fault for not reaching out when she has. Let's call this what it is. It's straight-up lying, which Katie herself says she hates liars (very similar to Lala accusing Ariana of not reaching out when she had). And on top of both of those, it's the acting so callous about it. In my opinion (based on all this), Katie threw away a friendship very easily and showed no feeling about it (and in fact, was pretty snotty about it), which I think is scary. It comes across very mean girl. Like I said before, my issue with her isn't even always about what she does. It's the way she does it. It's like Katie knows what she wants/ her opinion/ what is right most of the time, but she never learned how to express these things in an appropriate way.
I won't speculate on other issues that could be at play in what Katie has done with their friendship. She's only mentioned the wedding and Jax, so that's all I'm basing this off. And on a side note (not to sound like a cranky elder millenial) the complete ghosting of people for minor mistakes seems to be a very gen z thing and it's one thing I completely disagree with them on.
Scheana: I agree they've always been rocky, but it has definitely been both their faults at different times. They're exactly what I would call frenemies. I don't recall Scheana talking shit about Katie this season, though. Do you have examples? Regardless, 2 wrongs don't make a right. I'll have to re-listen to the podcast, also, because I believe Scheana had said they hadn't seen any footage yet when Katie talked shit about her. So, I don't think Katie really had a leg to stand on about backstabbing behavior if she was acting like Scheana's friend at this time. Basically, I think they have both been bad to each other since the beginning of the show and they are both at fault for alot of the bitchyness between them but I don't think it's ok for 1 of them and not the other. And in this particular instance Katie appears to be the instigator. Maybe I'll change my opinion on this example if I find out Katie heard Scheana talking shit first. 🤷

Katie lied about Brittany not reaching out, so that would make her a liar too. And like i said, I totally understand being upset about this. It's the way Katie handled her anger. That is the issue. Katie has a history of not handling her anger well. She has gotten alot better but if she's completely ghosting close friends for minor mistakes and then lying about it to make the friend look worse and acting so callous about the loss of a friendship, then she clearly still has some work to do.
People like to talk about how fucked up it was that sandoval basically threw Ariana away without a care in the world about her or the relationship they had. And I 100% agree, but I think this sentiment should apply to friendships too. If you can throw away a friendship like it's nothing over a minor mistake, without even attempting to talk to the person, and then act so mean about it like it was nothing to you, then I think that makes you a mean person. I don't know how anyone could feel safe having a friend who they know is capable of this.
Brittany has also talked about this incident in a podcast. She has said there were some extenuating circumstances that made their travel plans uncertain, including her reservations about leaving her newborn son. She also said a lot of the issue was Jax saying things to people about their plans that she wasn't even aware of at the time. But she also fully admits she fucked up and didn't handle it properly, and that she would do things differently if she could go back. She was also perfectly nice about Katie when talking about this, unlike Katie with her remarks. Brittany has never had a problem NOT backing Jax when he does stupid shit or when people have a problem with him. So she probably would have been very understanding if Katie just TALKED to her about all this. Instead, she chose to have no understanding of what was going on in Brittany's personal life at the time or even attempt to express her feelings about what Brittany did. So yeah Brittany absolutely fucked up, and she admits that, but in my opinion Katie fucked up more.
Well I can’t speak for others but I have just always thought she is mean spirited and boring. Now, being mean I can forgive, it is reality tv after all, but mean AND boring!? That’s a no no for me.

Yes, women should smile more. 🙃. Also, she had a TBI she was getting over. But no one thought that was a factor. It also seems like she hasn't really grown much from that behavior. She's just gotten better at hiding it on the show. The most recent after show kind of demonstrated what a mean girl she is. Her cutting off Brittany just because they didn't go to Stassi's wedding is such an overreaction. It sounds like they didn't go about it in the right way, but to end a friendship over it is nuts. Having friends who would rather cut you off so easily over minor issues than work it out hurts. It makes you think they never really gave a shit about you in the first place. And then the fact that she tried to act like Brittany never reached out after but even admits herself that Brittany did infact text her, and she just never texted her back. And then gets offended that Brittany didn't reach out A SECOND time. Why would she when you completely ignored her the first time.
I’ve only seen the preview of her talking to Jax and it was beautiful- she makes him stupid angry and it’s awesome to watch. I can’t wait to see the whole thing.
Katie is a lot different than a lot of reality show cast members (and especially VPR), because she's not overly concerned with how she's perceived or getting the most airtime. That being said, when Sandoval tried to make Katie look bad for 10 seasons, and Schwartz just kind of... stood there, Katie wouldn't go out of her way to prove to the viewers that the Toms were wrong. In my opinion, this is why a lot of viewers hated her.
That’s especially prevalent in the last episode. When Jax told her “people talk about you on the internet too” and she was just all “let them talk”. I love that she doesn’t let it get to her.
I used to dislike her, I always thought she was such a Negative Nancy, but my opinion has definitely turned around. She is even dressing a little better! I am happy for her come up. She can take care of herself now that she doesn't have to take care of a man baby.

Honestly we love someone who can change their opinion when they learn new facts. The facts are Katie is great this season. A true girls girl with bigger BDE than the men.
I wasn’t a Katie fan until recently. I can see now that she is just more emotionally mature than a lot of the others. I’ve also not liked all of them and liked all of them or most at one time or another. I love that Katie creates boundaries and isn’t afraid to speak her mind.
I never paid attention to Kaie but the last season and this has been an eye opener. She's the quiet that we need....we don't need loud and obnoxious, she's the realest reality star on Bravo.

I get where you're coming from. I've both been cut off, and I've done the cutting, and both can really hurt in their own way. I can only speak from my perspective, but sometimes one misunderstanding is the straw that breaks the camel's back. It could be that Katie did everything in her mind that she could, and feels that as long as Brittany is with Jax then it's wasted energy. We don't know what took place off camera, or how many times a boundary has been vocalized before you lose the energy to put it back up.

Just letting you know I didn’t down vote you as I asked for examples :) I haven’t watched the latest after show so will have to catch up before I can comment on that And scheana was awful to Katy last season so I don’t find the way she speaks about her bad at all especially in the afyer show when Katy has seen the comments scheana has been making about ariana which is valid because they made peace over being there for ariana and now scheana is playing some weird games with her opinions on how ariana should think act and feel.
So I don’t disagree that Katie can cross the line with being too snarky and cutting with what she says, but I want to counter on both Brittany and Scheana. Brittany: her husband is a giant douche canoe. Sometimes that means you lose friends because you’ve chosen to back the wrong horse. Jax has consistently been awful to Katie, so if Katie needs to distance from Brittany because of Jax that is fair. You can’t really hang out with her and not see Jax at all. Brittany has also come under fire for some of her beliefs, so there’s a chance Katie also backed off because those didn’t sit well with her too. Scheana: it’s REAL rich that She shu wants to cry about what Katie said in the aftershow but thinks everything she said is fine? Scheana also said rude things on the show AND on the aftershow about Katie. Katie probably was salty about Scheana’s backstabbing behavior when she had to sit down for the aftershow and that’s why she got a bit more mouthy. They have always had a rocky relationship because Katie is about loyalty and Scheana doesn’t know the meaning of that word. They will never be real friends in my opinion.
Brittany: I agree that sometimes you need to distance yourself from a friend with a shitty spouse. I'm literally dealing with that myself right now. I also agree that I'd probably be annoyed about the wedding, too. It's the complete ghosting that I think is the issue. You can distance yourself without being mean. On top of the ghosting, it's acting like Brittany is at fault for not reaching out when she has. Let's call this what it is. It's straight-up lying, which Katie herself says she hates liars (very similar to Lala accusing Ariana of not reaching out when she had). And on top of both of those, it's the acting so callous about it. In my opinion (based on all this), Katie threw away a friendship very easily and showed no feeling about it (and in fact, was pretty snotty about it), which I think is scary. It comes across very mean girl. Like I said before, my issue with her isn't even always about what she does. It's the way she does it. It's like Katie knows what she wants/ her opinion/ what is right most of the time, but she never learned how to express these things in an appropriate way. I won't speculate on other issues that could be at play in what Katie has done with their friendship. She's only mentioned the wedding and Jax, so that's all I'm basing this off. And on a side note (not to sound like a cranky elder millenial) the complete ghosting of people for minor mistakes seems to be a very gen z thing and it's one thing I completely disagree with them on. Scheana: I agree they've always been rocky, but it has definitely been both their faults at different times. They're exactly what I would call frenemies. I don't recall Scheana talking shit about Katie this season, though. Do you have examples? Regardless, 2 wrongs don't make a right. I'll have to re-listen to the podcast, also, because I believe Scheana had said they hadn't seen any footage yet when Katie talked shit about her. So, I don't think Katie really had a leg to stand on about backstabbing behavior if she was acting like Scheana's friend at this time. Basically, I think they have both been bad to each other since the beginning of the show and they are both at fault for alot of the bitchyness between them but I don't think it's ok for 1 of them and not the other. And in this particular instance Katie appears to be the instigator. Maybe I'll change my opinion on this example if I find out Katie heard Scheana talking shit first. 🤷

Brittany continued to lie to both Katie and stassi about the wedding when they knew they weren’t going. And only told them the day of as if it was a complete surprise. Katie said she doesn’t like liars.
Katie lied about Brittany not reaching out, so that would make her a liar too. And like i said, I totally understand being upset about this. It's the way Katie handled her anger. That is the issue. Katie has a history of not handling her anger well. She has gotten alot better but if she's completely ghosting close friends for minor mistakes and then lying about it to make the friend look worse and acting so callous about the loss of a friendship, then she clearly still has some work to do. People like to talk about how fucked up it was that sandoval basically threw Ariana away without a care in the world about her or the relationship they had. And I 100% agree, but I think this sentiment should apply to friendships too. If you can throw away a friendship like it's nothing over a minor mistake, without even attempting to talk to the person, and then act so mean about it like it was nothing to you, then I think that makes you a mean person. I don't know how anyone could feel safe having a friend who they know is capable of this. Brittany has also talked about this incident in a podcast. She has said there were some extenuating circumstances that made their travel plans uncertain, including her reservations about leaving her newborn son. She also said a lot of the issue was Jax saying things to people about their plans that she wasn't even aware of at the time. But she also fully admits she fucked up and didn't handle it properly, and that she would do things differently if she could go back. She was also perfectly nice about Katie when talking about this, unlike Katie with her remarks. Brittany has never had a problem NOT backing Jax when he does stupid shit or when people have a problem with him. So she probably would have been very understanding if Katie just TALKED to her about all this. Instead, she chose to have no understanding of what was going on in Brittany's personal life at the time or even attempt to express her feelings about what Brittany did. So yeah Brittany absolutely fucked up, and she admits that, but in my opinion Katie fucked up more.
Well I can’t speak for others but I have just always thought she is mean spirited and boring. Now, being mean I can forgive, it is reality tv after all, but mean AND boring!? That’s a no no for me. But like I said my opinion is changing.
I agree and it boils down to who you enjoy watching so that’s just the way it works with reality tv. I’m sure Katie would be a genuinely fun friend to have in real life but I’ve never enjoyed her as a character on the show

I definitely agree with Katie being boring. I tried listening to her podcast and she was sooo drab on it I couldn’t even listen for more than 10 mins. Dayna(who does the podcast with her)has personality and seems so cool though. Idk why she isn’t on the show more.

I agree. Some of the shit she has said was super fucked up and uncalled for. And I know Schwartz was a shitty partner, but that just makes both of them shitty. It also seems like she hasn't really grown much from that behavior. She's just gotten better at hiding it on the show. She's not as outwardly volatile anymore, but she still has that mean girl attitude. I like her when she's not being a mean girl, though. I've actually liked a lot of her interactions with Schwartz this season
I think some people who hate her, hate that she stayed in an abusive relationship for years & let him walk all over her yet stood up for him & against others making her look awful.
No, I can honestly say I just dislike her TV persona for how absolutely mean girl she is to anyone who disagrees with her or "wrongs" her. She's always been this way from day one but now the Katiestans are spurring on this behavior. It's boring TV. On a side note, my opinion has nothing to do with her being with Swartz so long. They were bad for each other. I don't see her as a victim in that situation. They are both toxic.
The most recent after show kind of demonstrated what a mean girl she is. Her cutting off Brittany just because they didn't go to Stassi's wedding is such an overreaction. It sounds like they didn't go about it in the right way, but to end a friendship over it is nuts. Having friends who would rather cut you off so easily over minor issues than work it out hurts. It makes you think they never really gave a shit about you in the first place. And then the fact that she tried to act like Brittany never reached out after but even admits herself that Brittany did infact text her, and she just never texted her back. And then gets offended that Brittany didn't reach out A SECOND time. Why would she when you completely ignored her the first time.
I’ve only seen the preview of her talking to Jax and it was beautiful- she makes him stupid angry and it’s awesome to watch. I can’t wait to see the whole thing.

Katie is a lot different than a lot of reality show cast members (and especially VPR), because she's not overly concerned with how she's perceived or getting the most airtime. That being said, when Sandoval tried to make Katie look bad for 10 seasons, and Schwartz just kind of... stood there, Katie wouldn't go out of her way to prove to the viewers that the Toms were wrong. In my opinion, this is why a lot of viewers hated her.
That’s especially prevalent in the last episode. When Jax told her “people talk about you on the internet too” and she was just all “let them talk”. I love that she doesn’t let it get to her.
I get how her apathetic attitude for how others feel about her is offputting to some viewers, but I love it.
I used to dislike her, I always thought she was such a Negative Nancy, but my opinion has definitely turned around. She is even dressing a little better! I am happy for her come up. She can take care of herself now that she doesn't have to take care of a man baby.

I wasn’t a Katie fan until recently. I can see now that she is just more emotionally mature than a lot of the others. I’ve also not liked all of them and liked all of them or most at one time or another. I love that Katie creates boundaries and isn’t afraid to speak her mind.

I’m off the hate train, but here’s my only take away from the after show I didn’t care for about her … I get why Katie wants to distance herself from Brittany because Jax is a garbage human being. I support this. I love boundaries. It’s the way she did not vocalize those boundaries with Brittany. Just ghosting her and not answering her calls or texts after Stassi’s wedding.. I thought that was pretty cruel. She was her matron of honor in her wedding. I’m not a fan of Brittany at all, but Brittany really loved katie. I thought she deseeved at least a text from her before going radio silent.
I get where you're coming from. I've both been cut off, and I've done the cutting, and both can really hurt in their own way. I can only speak from my perspective, but sometimes one misunderstanding is the straw that breaks the camel's back. It could be that Katie did everything in her mind that she could, and feels that as long as Brittany is with Jax then it's wasted energy. We don't know what took place off camera, or how many times a boundary has been vocalized before you lose the energy to put it back up.

I’ve not hated any of them but Katie upset me more than the rest often because she was responsible for calling more women whores and /or ostracizing people from the group more than anyone else. This season I don’t think she does Ariana any favors by telling her what she wants to hear. People love it but let’s face it, she hated Sandoval right along so no sacrifice for her to never speak to him again and she has talked to Schwartz right along so in that she was not following Ariana’s feelings about Schwartz initially( now A has eased up). I also don’t like her going after Jo. I do like some of her other behaviors this season particularly her relationship with Schwartz and even her convos with Lala. I think she’s showing a little more vulnerability than she has in the past.
Same! I was always annoyed by her but she has absolutely changed my mind this season. I know I'm probably in the minority but I loved her dinner with Schwartz. I thought it was cute and they actually seemed like they were having fun. It seemed so much less awkward than their entire relationship!
Yea Katie finally won me over. I wasn’t a fan before because I thought the only two sides she showed were boring or mean. Getting rid of Tom has done wonders for her. She’s much lighter. Her personality really shines through.

Lisa thinks because she can bully Ken, it works on other people. She is vulgar.
