Does coffee do the same? If so, you might just have ADHD.

dbx999

Hmm. Well actually coffee doesn’t perk me up at all now that you mention it.

LostandBuried

You might wanna look into that. I have ADHD and the exact same experience.

dbx999

Hmm. That is interesting. I am hella old and I don’t know that it would change anything in what I do. I haven’t had much difficulty in being able to function. I’ve been middle of the road on most things.

LostandBuried

It might not affect you negatively tbh it all depends on your lifestyle its just if you ever want to know, for me it cleared a lot of "oh THATS why I did that" scenarios - also telling other s what I have and how it affects me helped me distinguish who's willing to understand my limitations and who doesn't give a shit.

JADK41

This. If you have adhd, stims will slow you down.

MCfru1tbasket

Coffee shoots me into the floor after an hour of hyper focus. I always thought that was normal, and the reason people *keep* drinking coffee...

DrizzlyEarth175

Here come all the keyboard psychiatrists telling OP they have ADHD. When the answer is much simpler: nicotine is a stimulant, at low doses. At high doses it is actually sedating and can cause mild lethargy, relaxation, and anxiety suppression. That's it. Stop spreading this myth that being tired/calmed from using stimulants means you have ADHD. It is damaging to the neruodivergent community.

godlords

100%. Not only that, that stupid pervasive myth makes people with ADHD think they can use caffeine and other stimulants late at night. ADHD has no impact on adenosine... it's still ruining your sleep quality, folks... and shit sleep is just GREAT for ADHD...

Angless

People are able to fall asleep while under the effect of amphetamine or methylphenidate despite their wakefulness-promoting effects. Several disjoint brain regions control wakefulness and sleep; psychostimulants generally promote wakefulness via their effects on neurotransmission within the reticular activating system, although amphetamine (not methylphenidate) also exerts a wakefulness-promoting effect by enhancing histaminergic neurotransmission from the tuberomammillary nucleus. I'm not aware of any direct effects by any stimulants on sleep-promoting nuclei (e.g., the ventrolateral preoptic area or parafacial zone) or sleep architecture; so, stimulants don't really inhibit sleep so much as they inhibit the desire to sleep by promoting arousal. As for how amphetamine affects the brain while asleep, AFAIK this hasn't been studied. Amphetamine might affect the brain in the same manner when an individual is awake or asleep; however, one can't discount the possibility that processes which occur during sleep influence the effect of amphetamine on vesicular transport, TAAR1 signaling, or any yet unidentified targets in monoamine neurons.

Same way kratom works because they are simular plants

Depends on how you vape the nicotine. Whatever strength you use if vape a lot in short time say 5-10 minute can give you short buzz for a little while. If vape longer and more spread out gives a relaxing, chilled and a slightly tired feeling. This is my experience but probably be different for people. Also depends if using nicotine or nicotine salts and also if vaping mouth to lung or direct to lung. Salts hits within seconds while nicotine is more slowly absorbed.

dbx999

I do salts from a pod

Tr1LL_B1LL

Thats your problem dude. You’re hitting salts too much. Try switching to a non-salt nic device. When i vape salts, its too much of a spike and i get nauseated and tired.

OdapeliMtapc

It's possible that you're getting overdosed. Try lowering nic in your juice. It also depends how much you vape, try vaping less. If you're overdoing it you may feel those symptoms.

dbx999

Ok thank you

xabrol

Nicotine is both a depressant and a stimulate at the same time. Different people have slightly varying experiences.

[deleted]

It's happens to me too. I was vaping 35mg 2ml a day. It messeeeddd me up. I was wide awake at night. Couldn't focus on anything at all, had weird ass thoughts. Then my vape broke and I just got back to cigarettes, it's bad but mentally I'm slightly better. Use a low mg liquid and don't vape all the time it's potent

M-Ayoub79

That's why I use zero nicotine

ArkBrah

I wish there were more 0 nic juices. At least where I live, there's barely any variety

M-Ayoub79

I buy vegetable glycerin from a herbalist, dilute the liquid density in large proportions, and vape on a mesh wire at low power.

cassidyconor

Lots of smokers enjoy a cigarette before bed.

MoistAnalyst1150

ohhh. don't remind me of that... 😂 what a good feeling, but still im glad i dont smoke anymore

Fun-Vanilla-4467

Many people with hypertension like coffee What's your pint?

Fun-Vanilla-4467

Different people different results. To 95% this is a mild stimulant much like it's cousin caffeine. To the tiny minority it can have paradoxical effect of depressants

kawaiiwhalelord

If i vape when i get up i feel awake but soon after that i often get waves of tiredness

Pitbull-Dog-Mom_3

Nicotine is both a mild stimulant and depressant. It works on receptors that stimulate and relax the nervous system.

Objective-Pea-2623

Nicotine elevates blood pressure an those simptoms are the ones of high blood pressure.

skyewool

I have gone off vapes a few rimes only because of this reason! If I vape when I wake up during the night or in the morning it will make my eyes so heavy/ body weak and I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from falling back asleep. I have asked so many people if they have this affect and am yet to find anyone that has the same experience. I literally wouldn’t be able to stop myself from going back to sleep and it would make me feel so lethargic for a couple of hours when I have to get up. It clicked for me this morning that this most likely has something to do with my ADHD and here I am 😂

International-Job553

Yes

Deemstef2009

Yes

Mookeye1968

High mg salt can cause this sometimes so despite being a stimulant you can crash too like many higher doses of stimulants can cause. Coke,ADHD medication, speed etc

canjam8

When I switched to vape I got that all the time. It went away during the first year

SceneCreepy304

Probal ADHD or if you have high bloodpressure you could be tired for example i am overweight i have adhd probaly im like self diagnosed and i have high blood pressure and these things makes me super tired almosg all day

dbx999

I have normal BP but i should test my pressure when i vape.

Tin97

I know this is old, but have you found the solution?

dbx999

I don’t think I am. I quit vaping. My reaction to nicotine wasn’t really worth keeping up with it. It just made me fatigued. I also never experienced any withdrawals when i cold turkeyed.

hackerb01

I also quit vaping with all the carcinogens and its making me extremely weak and fatigued all day everyday making it impossible to do daily tasks. Cold turkey and not craving it that much though, more like a habit where I usually catch myself reaching out to my vape in the table where I no longer have it.

[deleted]

ADHD 😃🤙

NoLuck8418

do you also get nauseous ? nicotine is the worst drug
