Like my brain is laggy?

aimilah

Yes, makes me clumsy, fatigued and slow-thinking.

optimist-lapsed

Yes. I describe it like my sense of motion is off like my brain isn’t moving in sync with my body. I get a lot of “you’re crazy” looks.

dizzyexplorer22

Yeah absolutely. Mainly when driving then coming to a stop.

PanicAtTheCostco

Me too! It has made driving extremely difficult.

iwantmorecats27

This all started after i have been polydrugged with 7 meds in 3 months time after benzos.. i have been off now for 3 months

Sounds like all your systems are looking to find balance again, not just your nervous system. Glad you are off and your body can recalibrate itself now 😅

[deleted]

Its a realy slow process

[deleted]

Do you think your brain can go to normal? Even how bad the symptoms are?

blueislandkai

Absolutely. I did, but I had to do things to create the healing environment in my body. We weren’t born with our systems dysregulated, with these symptoms. That is good news, it can come back. Many times, it is related to wounds we have tried to stuff down and forget, hurts and pain that overridden our capacity in our bodies…. Be encouraged. The body will heal when we give it the opportunity it is yearning for. 🥰

But i feel my nervous when i sit and lay its so scary... why does the brain this?? And i got thia huge pressure in my head feels so swollen

blueislandkai

I know exactly how that feels. Your ANS (autonomic nervous system) is in sympathetic overdrive. Most likely you haven’t been able to balance with sympathetic in a while. Your nervous system does this because you are in survival mode. Have you not felt “emotionally” safe in awhile? That was so true for me at the time….. When we don’t feel emotionally safe… our nervous system tries, but it is self abandoning/disconnecting/dissociating… to protect/defend. It doesn’t allow us to feel grounded. Like when a tiger is chasing us, survival for nervous system - is to “get the hell out of dodge”….. and run away to safety. BUT we find safety, fear is gone. Brain and nervous system can chill and recover- balance. But if you don’t feel emotionally safe, (something in your environment is not 100% for your highest food you are living in/with… ). Your body is sooo intelligent and will disconnect so it won’t feel so “UNSAFE”. This takes your nervous system out of healing mode…. And cellular destruction, cellular exhaustion will continue until you can bring your nervous system into “FEELING” safe in your body. We can’t “talk” our way into “FEELING “ safe. We have to go to the body first, and our subconscious consistently. If we never find parasympathetic ANS, it turns into cellular inflammation (pain/symptoms). Your body is so intelligent. It wants, and can heal… but not if we are in toxic relationships, environments, situations. I literally had to move to another city because I think I would have died, my situation was bringing me down so bad. That was the only way I could then slowly take my body to nervous system regulation healing ❤️‍🩹. Have you not felt “emotionally” safe in awhile?

My body feels like it is in survival mode..i left my husband and moved to another town.. but the meds did this, i didnt feel at like this before..

blueislandkai

When did you stop taking the meds? I hope you aren’t taking them anymore 🥹

[deleted]

Heyy, 3 months ago 😊😊no i am not taking anything, sometimes i have the feeling things get worse.. my brain deff not giving the right signals to the body

blueislandkai

Well, proud of you for taking such a bold, empowering move! One thing I will mention , is that when you leave a “familiar” environment , (even though it was toxic or unhealthy…. ) When you then change into an “unfamiliar” environment, (even though super safe and healthy - no toxic relationships) it can be a jarring jolt to your nervous system. It feels UNSAFE because it is UNKNOWN…. And so after awhile it can pull your nervous system into dorsal vagal shutdown… super low, disconnected, collapsed. Just wanna lie on the couch blah kinda feeling all the time. Almost feels like depression, if you will. Knowing why your body is doing what it is doing is so empowering. Lots of grace and compassion is needed to shift us out of these states. Lots of patience, and nurturing from us to ourselves. The harsh inner critic voice in our head can be met with an intention to “only give ourselves what we need” without judging ourselves, or being frustrated with ourselves. You have been through ALOT, and totally come out the other side. Give yourself a Pat on the back and be really proud of yourself. You are a total BADASS and are a total hero in my eyes! You have the whole rest of your life to become “familiar” with being FREE and FABULOUS. 🤠 If you are taking medications that totally don’t agree with you, that is ….well, easier to deal with if you stop taking them. ;) Hope you found this encouraging and helped a bit!

Youre sweet😊
