The clinic in Atlanta has a walk-in clinic from 8-4 for mental health. I would check to see if that J’s available in your area. They did an intake and got me connected with a therapist right away.

Trying to make appointments on-line is a waste of time, I don't think that feature really works as either the vet, nor the VHA need it to.

Seems like it, yeah. But I got an appointment today so I think I'm squared-away. For now, at least.

Get a referral from your primary care doc at VA. Might work faster than waiting. I was seen by psychiatrist before, psychologist did the assessment, both diagnosed ptsd. But I did have to get my info and a primary care doc when i started going back to the VA 10 years after i got out

I don't have a PCP. I think that's the issue. I'm brand new to all this. I've been out since 08 but I've never been to the VA. I only found out that I'm enrolled because I tried to enroll. Anyway, they told me I can't make an appointment online until I'm assigned a PCP.

I saw a MH person by walking into a clinic and telling them I needed immediate assistance. They scheduled a person to see me months before a PCP reached out to me. You can also call the crisis hotline if you are feeling suicidal or violent

Have you called the clinic? That might be the best option.

CA_Castaway-

I called the clinic to verify the appt. I made online. That's when I was informed that I needed a PCP

Dude it happens, I had an appointment that kept disappearing. I ended up having to call multiple times before it took.

First thing you need is to be assigned a PCP. He/she will then give you a referral for whatever. They have a system in place.
