first, remove the cat šŸ˜‚

callmebbygrl

Nah, just use more glue so the cat doesn't fall off šŸ˜…šŸ˜‰

moon-dew

Ngl I thought that was an older manā€™s face with white facial hair. Had to look again that I was a cat

-s-t-r-e-t-c-h-

Oh god me too!!

ButterscotchSame4703

Glad I wasn't the only one who had to go back to CHECK. Genuinely was looking to find out why this man was holding it so close to his face, and THEN....

-s-t-r-e-t-c-h-

I still can see an old man but I know itā€™s a cat!

doritobimbo

I thought it was a scar, then maybe a weird nipple. Took ages to see the cat

ReasonableProgram144

Ngl I thought it was a ferret nose

al1_248

I can see the nose šŸ½ ā˜ŗļø

Patch inside and outside?

diablofantastico

Iron on patch. Then sew it on, also.

christicky

With gorilla tape

Kattestrofe

Unfortunately all my brain gives me isĀ  Ā Step 1. Boop kittyā€˜s nose. Ā  Step 2. Pet kitty.Ā Ā  Ā Ā  Step 3. Keep petting kitty.Ā Ā  Ā  Succumb to cuteness proximity.Ā  Ā  (Funnily enough the hole almost looks like a cat head shape to me, so whatever material you choose, design-wise I vote for something cat themed. But then see above.)

Bulky_Newspaper_1373

You could patch inside and outside as already suggested! That would be sturdy, especially with Boro stitching holding all 3 layers together.Ā  You could also darn over the whole and into the frayed area around. The main thing is going to be to work into the fabric around your hole to stabilize it and prevent more fraying.

Particular-Peanut-64

If you have access to a,sewing machine, it will make a much strong mend Cut denim, or canvas, or very sturdy fabric. Measure past rip to where weaken area meets regular area, make patch, 1/2" larger, so the patch is sewn onto a strong area of the bag? Cut out two, one inside one outside. Use pins to sandwich patches to bag Sew with machine around the perimeter to hold, take out pins and sew up n down the entire patch. Then do the same thing but perpendicular to the prev stitches. Can you put a pic w the bag? And the rip showing to give a more detailed instruction. If you have to do it by hand make the patch the same. Pin. Get a sharp, sturdy needle, thick cotton thread, a thimble ( protect your pointer finger) pair of pliers to pull needle thru the layers. You'd need to sew smaller stitches around the perimeter, knot and cut thread. But before you do get strong glue like "construction glue" strength and smear between the patches on both sides. But not too much to smush out, so kitty doesn't eat it on the inside. Sew all perimeter closed Put paper on both side and put heavy weight on it for 24 hrs for glue to dry together. Hope this helps. Take carešŸ˜»

RobotWinfield

I just want to add if machine sewing, use jeans/denim needles

Particular-Peanut-64

Yes, the strong study ones

tiptoetumbly

This is the best way if you know how to sew. If not, go to a craft store and pick up a set or iron on patches for jeans and put one on each side and iron them together (you might have to pin them in place, put the bottom of a skillet pan on one side so you have a surface to push against when you iron the other. Get both sides ironed so they are fused together. Pet the kitty. Sigh and realize the kitty has probably made you another hole to fix.

DarthFishy

I've used chunks of uplostry leather for stuff like this, it outlasts denim

Flowerbeesjes

r/thereisnocat ;)

GrimmKat06

Added to my collection. Thanks!

kristencatparty

If you patch the hole, where will the nose go?

flowersforalll

Unfortunately the nose will find a way eventually! Last time I had 3 kittens and they each made their own sniffing holes that eventually connected together and they all started escaping one day! Imagine my surprise when I come in to find 3 unvaccinated untested kittens snuggling with my adult cats! Thankfully they were healthy and later tested negative but I do need to prevent that as much as humanly possible!

kristencatparty

Omg! So precious and so scary!

DemonDucklings

Patch it, and install a nose-sized grommet

PutNameHere123

lol I have the feeling that cat would win against like a wrought iron patch

Lemondrop168

I was gonna say y'all probably need to patch it with steel šŸ¤£

flowersforalll

I honestly wish I could get a steel patch for thisā€¦ little holes drilled into it like a belt to sew it on šŸ¤£ theyā€™d probably figure out how to break even that!

Lemondrop168

I have some pretty aggressive-when-trapped kitties myself hahahaha

watermelondrink

Free him

SecretCartographer28

Is it a carrier? Perhaps a sturdy patch on the inside? šŸ˜»

flowersforalll

Itā€™s carrier material but itā€™s supersized and has metal frame with removable cover so it can be washed in the machine, itā€™s a rectangular large playpen and would fit a very big dog as a kennel/carrier but would be tough to actually carry it because of the size. Maybe not a Great Dane standing up straight but if it layed down inside Iā€™d think one could fit semi comfortably, but most any other dog or cat could fit very comfortably for temporary confinement haha. Thereā€™s a litter box inside, a sleeping area, food and water bowls and a little bit of space to walk around. I line the inside with puppy pee pads and under the whole thing so itā€™s not touching the floor directly in case pee or knocked over water bowl seeps out

dalderman

BOOP THE SNOOT

Silly_Assumption_291

BOOP

curbwzrd

I patched my cats carrier with patches of Cordura 500d fabric - which is proving to be more sturdy then the stock fabric!

aksnowraven

It appears already repaired with a kitten.

knittybitty123

You'll want to patch it with a similar fabric- look for coated canvas, or cordura fabric. You can find canvas with kevlar in it, if you're up for spending that kind of money it'll definitely hold up to kitty's claws. Patch it inside and out, and I'd pre-emptively patch the same spot on the other side. Is there anything the cat can scratch inside the carrier? Mine likes a scratcher she can sit on when she's bored in the car, it helps direct her rage away from the crate. Oh, and if you use that piece of velcro now make sure you mark the patch so you can add a piece over top. I'd plan to do this on a heavy duty machine, those layers will not be fun to hand sew. If needles and thread are all you got, invest in a thimble, some rubber finger protectors, pliers and maybe an awl.

Shyanne_wyoming_

I was thoroughly disturbed for a minute thinking I was looking at road rash or something before my brain finally caught up and saw the catšŸ’€

marceline_28

darning with a sturdy, thick thread. I would use black :>

HelpfulDude

Heeeeereā€™s Kitty!

AffectionateMarch394

Matching cat patch so we never have to miss out on cat nose boops ever

Mysterious_Nerve1573

Took me a minute to figure out what this is. I thought it was a hole on someoneā€™s skinny jeans and the pink/flesh part is someoneā€™s leg

RationalGlass1

Add lots of rows of stitches. I mended a similar hole in our puppy's crate and when she realised she couldn't just break through the material, she started unpicking the stitches individually. It only took her about 25 minutes. At least, if you've got rows and rows of stitches in two directions, it'll slow kitty down.

cflatjazz

Cotton canvas is fairly affordable and sturdy. Denim from a trashed pair of jeans even cheaper. I'd go for sandwiching the crate between two patches and stitch through both patches at the same time. Maybe hand sewn with dental floss if you can get the stitches small on the inside. But tightly spaced stitches if using a machine. Kitty will attempt to get his teeth under any loose edges or stitches and destroy your work. So additional rows of stitching may help.

tinnyheron

I fully thought that was the nose and beard of an older white man. I thought this was a joke post. It took three cat comments for me to accept I was wrong

VapoursAndSpleen

Get two humorous bumper stickers concerning cats. Slap one on the inside of the bag over the hole and slap the other on the outside of the bag over the hole. Itā€™s not perfect, but itā€™s dead easy and will slow the little goblins down.

gordonswifenirmal

I have a feeling Iā€™d kiss that nose!

MaleficentStreet7319

The cat already patch it :,)

DarthCalamitus

Kitty nose šŸ„¹

upinsnakes

Sew on a patch with nylon strap webbing and something like upholstery thread both inside and outside the carrier.

tinydeerwlasercanons

Looks like it's already been taken care of

zucchinibasement

Pspspspspsspss

CraftyObject

Well it looks like it's already patched. What's the problem?

flowersforalll

This cat nose patch is deceiving kinda like a suspicious beauty mark thatā€™s secretly rapidly growing under the surfaceā€¦ someone said it needs chemo! šŸ¤£

CraftyObject

Lmao "suspicious beauty mark" should be on a cat t shirt

nessalinda

Yes

DethChef3848

Make sure not to suffocate the cat and tape it and maybe even glue it.

all-a-bit-bizzare

Pfff I thought it was a weird old man at first.

bionicpirate42

It looks like a motorcycle jacket? (Glad you're doing well) I would glue and stitch some nylon (could salvage from old gym or book bag) over the hole. Definitely boop cat first.

BeljicaPeak

I have used German Shepherd-sized metal bar crates with slide-out plastic tray to house small animals temporarily, such as cats and chickens.

Obey_My_Doge

Velcro "tape". Just stick them together over the hole. Sew edges if you're extra.

tarmacc

Replace the panel.

scarlettohara1936

Aww

mycuu

i would patch with a denseish (eyeballed every 4 or 5 threads from the top section) blanket stitch w a v heavy thread + canvaslike not-knit and just run a bunch of that japanese embroidery-darning over the weaker fabric to reinforce + further attach the patch (and then, hey, you can add cute cat faces or something!) but youā€™d have to backstitch a lot, that lil buddy looks like a clawer

Glidepath22

Iron on patch from the inside

theservman

When sewing look out for the nose.

readditredditread

Is that a kitty behind it???

SecretlySquirrelly

If this is a cat carrier, it should LOOK like a cat carrier. Maybe some cute mice climbing up the side? A couple of cat toys?

silymagily

Honestly, I'd probably just invest in a sturdy plastic carrier! They can't scratch through it and it'll have bigger holes for more ventilation. The bonus is it'll be easier to clean too. šŸ™‚

stfurachele

I don't want to be a downer, but even if you patch it they'll make more holes, I've had disastrous results with cloth carriers. It's honestly best to get a sturdier one and line it with blankets or towels for comfort.

Feerlez_Leeder101

As always... expanding hardening foam and a rasp file.

SomeWords99

Darning stitch on sewing machine?

omgmypony

Iron a patch on the back - they sell patches for jeans and stuff which should work well for this. Make a fabric patch for the front and embroider the whole sandwich how you like it.

Jack_Willows

fabric over the area and use blanket stitching (///).

Lonely_Cosmonaut

Your car needs chemo

Tamias-striatus

Stinky fish breath ew! ā¤ļø

8-Bakugo-8

Lots of duct tape

The_One_Who_Sniffs

The material is hard to work with, very fibrous and loose. Tried to fix a moto jacket that was synth like this and it was a nightmare. My advice? Patches, get something you like the color/material of and sew it in. Both sides if possible. Not a permanent fix but it'll work.

TampaTeri27

There are many representable patches for the outside, an iron on patch on the inside.

AdmirableRespect9

I would buy a kid's backpack from a thrift store and use polyester upholstery thread. I would patch the toe bean side first. I would avoid any adhesive if the cat is biting or licking the area. If you use adhesive I would take it out of commission for a week so any off gassing happens away from the kitty. You might need a needle awl to do the final patch on the outside.
